Old thread here

Welcome aboard, make yourselves comfy I have a feeling it's going to be a bumpy ride! Wink

I had a really positive pg dream last night (as opposed to the standard one where I have just found out I'm pg and want to have a termination, which frankly is disturbing) where I was 9 months pg and was really happy. DH of course was not happy in the dream. He was not happy when I woke him up and told him about the dream either lol.

How is everyone today? x

squirrel007 · 25/10/2010 22:16

Hi all, and thanks for the good luck wishes! I'm secretly hoping AF doesn't show up, but I have PMT symptoms so I'm sure I'll be boarding the next bus.

bebe I voted for your DD, that is a lovely picture of her Smile Fingers crossed your odd feeling is just a twinge - and no need to feel guilty as you had to come off the meds at one point for ttc.

jbells will vote for your dd too if you change your mind Grin

js looking forward to the recipe! DH still sometimes thinks he doesn't have to do what I say Sad

whywait nice to see you again, and good for you with not obsessing!

AmandaCooper · 25/10/2010 21:26

100years I love how excited you are about ttc, I don't think I will ever match it but it really cheers me up! Scrubs can be pretty emotional to be fair lol.

Bebe you seem to be being dragged through the wars at the moment, if it's not one thing it's another! I second what Squirrel says - get as much rest as you possibly can (appreciate it won't be much with a little monkey in the family!) and let DH look after you. Hope you feel better soon and it's nothing too sinister. All the more reason to crack on with ttc at your DH's first sign of weakness! I have voted for your DD, she is a real little cutey!

Nannyl glad you had a fun holiday. Is it still the September bus for you guys too? No suggestions for a holiday, I don't dare book our next holiday in case I'm pg and too ill to travel, what an optimist eh?! Also I recently heard you can't fly long haul when pg - is that true? Another bloomin reason to wait.

JS I can't believe how much to-ing and fro-ing they are having you do! They must still be interested though, to keep rearranging. I don't know whether to wish you luck with the job, or to hope you don't get it so you can focus all your time and attention on creating the man control cake recipe lol.

Squirrel, Whywait, 100years and anyone else boarding the August bus, good luck to all of you!

bebejones · 25/10/2010 19:10

Shameless plea for votes for DD :o If you are on facebook, please vote for my girl! I've entered her now, so may as well try Hmm (Even though I do disagree with the way it is being run!) Just follow the link! apps.facebook.com/baby_modelcomp/entry/220685

WhyWait - Eeeeeeeeeeek! How exciting, fingers crossed for you, sending positive vibes & 'fairy dust' Wink

AC - That sounds expensive Confused Hopefully it will be good news!

JS - did they come back to you about meeting you in London?

Really worried that this odd feeling in my leg is going to be a relapse. Really scared :( Will feel so guilty if it is!

JustShaggingForNow · 25/10/2010 15:34

Oh AC what a pain. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you get something sorted out very soon as being unhappy at work is so miserable :(

Well they are going to let me know on 5 November, but it didn't sound promising. The woman I spoke to thought I would have to take a new loan to pay that one off, which sounds expensive.

JustShaggingForNow · 25/10/2010 13:02

Morning all!!

Hope that everybody is feeling a bit better on the health and happiness front on this fine Monday morning. Did not want to get up when the alarm went off at 6am and am starting to feel as though I am coming down with the bug that's been going around the office. What a pain!!

Still hadn't heard this morning so I called the recruiter and the FD now can't do tomorrow as he'd in London and he wants to see me on Thursday. I can't do Thursday and so have suggested I meet him in London tomorrow. Here's hoping we get somewhere as I am starting to get really hacked off and worried that they are going to say "no" to me after all this.

Huge Monday afternoon calorie free cakes in the dining car for everybody. They have magical powers and make you feel better instantly! I am also working on a new recipe that makes men do as they're told........ not sure I've mastered it yet but will keep trying so we can all persuade our DH / DPs to let us TTC!!!

jbells · 25/10/2010 11:45

morning all- just wanted to say i bebe i was going to enter my DD is next baby model comp, untill i realised same thing it is just a popularity contest as to who has the most friends on facebook that will vote for there child, and not who is the cutest etc, think its a bit of a con so not sure ill enter her now

bebejones · 25/10/2010 11:12

Hoping the train is nice and warm, it's bloody freezing here today! First time we've had to scrape ice off the car this morning! Brrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!! Positive of this is that DD looks adorable all wrapped up in her winter coat, boots & hat! :o Put her picture in for the Next baby competition on facebook then afterwards realised it's all a complete farce as people have to vote on there to select the finalists. So it will just go to the ones who can get all their friends to vote. Hmm Not really fair IMO. Some really cute kids on there who probably won't end up in the final selection!

AC - we've had time off our mortgage before when I was diagnosed. No harm in asking, the worst they can say is 'no'!

I've got some odd sensations in my right leg & I 'came clean' to DH about it this morning. He was really nice to me & didn't once blame me for stopping my meds. Really really hoping it comes to nothing. Don't want to be ill on my birthday :(

Nannyl - glad you ahd a good time away, well done Mr Nannyl on a fab race time! :)

Squirrel - it might not have been 'diet' food but it was very yummy! Blush

3 years ago today was the start of the cycle in which I conceived DD! :o Funny how weird dates like that stick in your head Blush This obviously gave me an August EDD but scan gave me a July EDD Confused So 'technically' DD was 9 days late, but I think she was always destined to be an August baby! Hope the August bus is a lucky one for you 100 & Squirrel! :o

Good morning everyone!

Good to 'see' you again AC, know what you mean about taking a break. That's awful about the secretaries gossiping - I hope noone will ever judge my choices like that.

bebe hope you start to feel more positive soon! And I'm sure BK isn't that bad for the diet, better than not eating anyway :)

Hi nannyl glad you had a good break and yay for your OH and his race time!

100years how exciting about the august bus! I'm sure I'll be joining you later this week as I'm convinced that AF is about to show up.

100years · 25/10/2010 09:29

AC my sister got a year off paying her mortgage when OH left her, so they can only say one or the other. Re what the secretaries said about going back to work, that's really shitty, not everyone can either afford to or want to stay at home, some people need to work for various reasons, and it's not for someone else to judge that. But then there are lots of judgemental people around who will judge others for anything and everything.

AmandaCooper · 24/10/2010 22:15

Right on time as well! Well done for starting the next bus. I hope it's lucky for you.

You've got a point there, ladies, I'll ask about a payment holiday, they can only say no.

100years · 24/10/2010 21:15

Good evening everyone.

Hope you are all OK.

Managed to get through 2 shifts without falling asleep/feeling too knackered at the end :) Whoop, that's always a bonus.

Had a shitty kind of day at work today and feel a bit meh and want to give lots of nice people hugs and tell them to take care.

Think AF is coming, if not tonight then tomorrow for def, think I got the pre spotting that I get the day or two before. Then it'll be wham bam and thank you mam or something like that. I am kind of undecided as to how to play it this month, I'm not really sure whether to do OPK although for meds it would be better, and whether to chart, I've started doing my BBT in the morning, but I don't know whether it's all a bit much just yet. OH I think is fairl easy whatever I decide I think he just wants me to tell him if it's the right time and we haven't done it much, other than that I think he's going for the as much as poss!

Nannyl, welcome back, HUGE massive congrats to your OH, that's amazing. :)

I've started the August Bus!!! [hshock]

jbells · 24/10/2010 19:28

evening all DP is going to go the gym tonite so i will be enjoying a nite of xfactor in peace with some chocolate cake and icecream i think, cant be bothered cooking

nannyl- sounds like a lovely holiday very jelous my nxt child free holiday i hope will be my 30th which seems like forever away :( i think reccomendations wud be maybe the south of france or maybe malta (but thats a biased choice haha) or the amalfi coast is beautiful and not to hot

AC- welcome back nice to hear from u again :) i agree with bebe how ignorant of the people in your work that poor woman is probably riddled with the guilt of leaving her baby and may have no choice but to work, also was going to ask same questions as bebe bout your loan, some places will give u holiday off payments

BEBE- sounds like your DD had a lovely day think i wud have just ate the kids food :o
know exactly eot u mean bout loving them to death but really needing a break sometimes, when DD was at nursery on weds all i did was clean the house while listening to music really loudly but i had a lovely day very rarely get a chance to listen to music anymore dreading going back to work bin enjoying having 2 days to myself but obviously cant afford to pay nursery if im not working, i do feel guilty when i know shes in nursery and i know she doesnt have to be. also know wot u mean about wishing DH wud get up i cant tell u how many arguements me and DP had about this issue finally after months of disputes we now take turns if i get up sat morning with her he will on sunday and vice versa

nannyl · 24/10/2010 18:48

Hello all!
Im back, I tried to wave good bye on Saturday at Gatwick airport but this thread was so long it kept crashing OH's phone so i had to give up!
We have just had the most wonderful week together in crete (27C fantastic hotel etc) and have both been offline for a whole entire week, but i thought about you and have read all the posts!

Hope all the poorly people / children get better soon [xxx] (hate seeing poorly toddlers too, its just not fun for anyone Sad)

100 years congrats on being about to TTC and SWI

JS good luck with your job 2nd int... all sounds promising, will keep my fingers crossed

LOVE the lion

I am down south now with OH and my family Smile
am very very proud of OH who despite Jet lag, < 5 hours sleep in the previous 24, no dinner for over 24 hours and no training managed to come 118th / 23,000 in the great south run this morninh Shock 10 miles in 62 mins... ( i slept on the plane for a tiny bit and was knackered just watching!!!)

We talked alot about TTC on holiday and have decided that we MUST have 1 last holiday alone before baby, so thinking June-ish.

If anyone has any ideas of where to go, hot but not too hot, and clean enough where food is safe to eat even if pregnant id love to know!
We also watched a few families on the beach, discussing our potential children and age gaps and where will go away together etc. All very lovely.

OH here now but will catch up again soon,

its half term so ill be around a bit more Smile

bebejones · 24/10/2010 18:05

Shock How ignornat are they?! Poor woman was probably really conflicted about leaving her LO. Just coz you are a working mother doesn't make you a bad one!! I always thought I'd be working again by now, but then I didn't factor in my MS diagnosis!

SMP sucks, but it is better than nothing at all. Tricky if you have that £400/month to repay though. Can you get payment holidays from it at all? Is it linked to salary like student loans are? (Sorry to be a bit clueless Confused)

Been out all afternoon at DHs nephew's 2nd birthday party! Was an activity type thing for the kids so DD is knackered! :o We were so hungry though (there was only food for the kids) so had to stop for a burger king Blush That won't have done the diet any good! Hmm

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 24/10/2010 12:23

I won't have much leave unfortunately, because I've still got the £400/month repayments to meet from my professional studies loan and I only get statutory maternity pay. That's another thing that's putting me off, particularly cause several secretaries have said to me about a fee earner who's just joined us part time after seven months maternity leave "how disgusting, greedy, etc coming back to work and leaving her baby she shouldn't have had a baby etc."

bebejones · 24/10/2010 12:14

Oh dear, that sounds miserable for you :( Is there nothing around for you to apply for? At least if you did get PG you could use mat leave to search for something else, maybe?! Confused

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 24/10/2010 11:43

Oh DH seems quite blasé about the whole thing to be honest, I think I could sneak on board the September bus if I wanted to. At the moment though I'm worried about becoming even more trapped in this awful job. If I had a baby to think about I could never just walk out and the thought that if it ever gets really bad I can just get up from my desk and go is sometimes all that gets me through the day.

bebejones · 24/10/2010 11:35

I'd be happy if just once in a while DH would take the initiative & get up first when DD wakes up! I know he gets up earlier every day for work, but I need some time off! I've been a bit grumpy & shouty with her lately Blush :( Wouldn't change her or being at home for anything, just need to do grown up stuff! Does that make sense? Trust me babysitting DD is no walk in the park, I wouldn't wish her on anyone at the moment! She is argumentitive, stroppy, snotty & screechy! Generally very grumpy & disagreeable! Toddlers eh?! Wink Wouldn't want her to put anyone off!!

Sorry if that sounds whingey! Blush Think it's coz I'm feeling a bit rubbish, stupid bug!

You have been waiting a long time too, you deserve to be boarding a bus soon! Do I take it your DH is still resisting? It's hard isn't it, just hanging on not knowing when they'll give you a green light?! :(

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 24/10/2010 11:03

I hope you are on it Bebe, you've been waiting such a long time. It always strikes me as ironic that there must be loads of people like me up and down the country who'd love nothing more than to babysit for a day, and equally there must be loads of people desperately in need of a babysitter, but they don't know each other.

bebejones · 24/10/2010 09:15

AC sorry to hear that work is rubbsih :( Seems alot of people are having problems.

I'm lying on sofa (v restless night of feeling poorly) can hear DD upstairs & wondering how long I can sit here waiting for DH to go to her before I cave & go myself. I adore her, but I'd love a day off (just one) from the responsibility!

Interesting about the August bus, can't believe theoretically I could be on the next one! Hmm

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 23/10/2010 22:57

100 years sorry to hear about the car, that's a horrible thing to happen. Very good news about you guys starting to ttc though, funny the way it just suddenly got brought forward! Funny and brilliant!

That's just made me think: tomorrow should be the day they put the August bus thread up. Could be the day after that, but no longer than that. Which is kind of interesting, as the bus that comes 30 days after that one is the one a lot of us have been aiming for, including me. Not that I'll be boarding it, but it's quite a thought. I remember the September bus coming last year and me wistfully thinking (while wandering spellbound round the baby section of Boots) "next year I'm getting that bus"!

Sorry I've not been around for a while, and thank you for noticing. Work has been horrible and ttc is not on the agenda, and you have to take a break from time to time, or you go mad!

bebejones · 23/10/2010 08:10

JBells - sorting through all the pink baby stuff made me realise just how much 'crap' DD had! Shock We had already given loads away, & I still have a lot left upstairs plus a massive box full of newborn/0-3months stuff for DHs friend! Have kept all the neutral stuff though...just in case! [hwink] There is something to be said for having another girl, I'm sure my DH will want to go again for a boy! :o

JS - That is such a pain that they want to make it Tuesday! How annoying when you have to commute between the 2!
