So near, yet so far! Holiday villa for those waiting TTC#1 having suffered mc

Hi all,

I need to take a holiday with some lovely peeps in the same position; I'm TTC#1 but had 2 mc's this year and now discovered my luteal phase is only 9 days (anything under 10 considered a defect) and probably the reason that I cannot retain a pregnancy.

If you have yet to be blessed with motherhood because mc has cruelly taken away your chance so far, then this is the place to retreat for some R & R whilst your body recovers.

Pull up a sun lounger, and lie back for some lighthearted banter and support whilst monitoring cycles or undergoing investigation and wash down the Vit B6, Agnus Castus, Progesterone and Clomid with a lovely vodka glass of sparkling spring water!!

Morning all, I am so full of the joys of Autumn, not sure why, just am!

We are negotiating to buy business and now dh is home it's full on ttc so perhaps I can feel good things around the corner for 2011!!

Also, total breakthrough at weekend, had cuddles with my friends 8 week old baby, and didn't shed a tear, just totally loved it. Must confess though, it just confirmed that I can't wait to be a mum, I am so ready to join that club! Felt the ole heart strings being tugged!

Won't be around 'till Thurs, see you all then x

velvet agree. it was v quiet here. am really happy to have come home to a builder free house! :)

forgot to turn the heating off yesterday though, so it was a little hot!

how are the rest of you?

Velvetcu · 11/10/2010 22:11

Hellooo all had gone quiet in here! I'm meant to be making powerpoints for classes tomorrow but am soooo not in the mood!

How are we all?

DachshundsRule · 11/10/2010 12:15

Hello people. How are we all today?

I'm very impressed with myself. I managed not to murder the builder. Even though when I got back home on Friday he had not turned up or done anything at all!

So we had to force him to come and finish the job on Saturday.

We have DH's cousin coming to stay on Tuesday night so we needed to get everything done before then. So after the builder had left DH and I had to decorate the lounge and the dining room, which we were expecting to have the whole weeekend for, so having the builder around on Satruday was a pain in the ...

Carpet being fitted on Tuesday pm (typo on post in other thread where I said Saturday). Cousin arriving Tuesday pm. Bit stressed!

On the plus side I'm taking a couple of days holiday from work, so I can get the IVF drugs delivered at the same time as preparing the house for its visitor.

Hope you're all well.

Kat, boo to af turning up! That's me and you on a similar cycle...perhaps we'll be upduffed by the end of Oct with a little luck (and lots of SWI Grin)

MummyAbroad · 07/10/2010 00:12

popped in for a quick lurk...

Kat - do you know about evening primrose oil for egg white mucas? You take it first half of cycle only, stop at ovulation.

kat2504 · 06/10/2010 17:55

thanks for the good wishes but it was not a late bfp, it was a late AF, which has now shown up in full force. The lateness was predictable almost to the day by the ov kit results. At least shows that they are working even if i had one sort of positive ish one a week before the definitely positive. Luteal phase therefore 13 days, very pleasing. Am planning this months "opportunities" now. Shame it doesn't seem to coincide with our holiday, but at least I think it will be on a weekend.

MP glad to hear your progesterone results were good. Shame your GP is not very nice.

I don't like grapefruit juice :( Think it will still work if I mix equal parts orange and grapefruit? I need all the help I can get with ewcm. Typically, when I was not ttc, a couple of years ago I recall having plenty of it. Not any more....

owlshoes · 06/10/2010 14:23

Wow, your doctor sounds CHARMING. I suppose the thing is that day 17 is not a million miles off normal - in that I seem to have settled on day 15 - but I suppose it depends how long the overall cycle is and she may not really have focussed on that bit having only looked at the 17 figure. Good news on the progesterone though.

I wonder if a change of GP is in order? A year seems far too long to be faffing around at our age.

MamaPower · 06/10/2010 11:12

Aurora hope all goes well for your Dad.

Owl my EDD was Jan 17th and I was using it as an excuse to get out of this sodding trip to Oz to SIL's wedding in a few weeks (would have coincided with entering third trimester and what with it being long haul and the fact my spine is held together with metal, would never have been given clearance to fly)!

I actually screamed at DH last week, ''I hate 2010, I can't wait to see the back of it''!! It was the hormones but genuinely, it's been a bloody hard year all round!

OK, so got blood test results back, good news is progesterone is 39 and anything over 30 is good. However, she failed to help with an explanation as to the shift in ucl and move from Day 14 ov to day 17 and didn't seem to actually care, in fact she told me to go away and if I'd not retained a pregnancy within a year to go back! The lack of empathy was, as you can tell, overwhelming, I suspect she had 3 kids and thought I was a minor irritant to her saving the world of genuine health problems!!! Grrrrrrr!

Passes special Grapefruit juice to Kat Grin

We def need a BFP round here! More SWI girls Grin Grin x

Hi everyone. Aurora I hope you're Dad's op goes well.

Yep, counting down through the lost pregnancy and due dates stucks. I had my scan last night and nothing to report, which is good in a way, but bad in that I still don't know what's wrong. Ho hum. Back to my GP I guess to ask him to do swabs, but that might have to wait a bit unless I can get an appointment for tomorrow as AF is in theory due in a couple of days.

owlshoes · 05/10/2010 09:46

:) grapefruit juice is on the ridiculous list of things that may help conception (apparently it produces more EWCM) - tis probably all lies though (not that this will stop me trying it this month).

Kat the rules are: if you're not TTC - cycle is so regular you can set your watch by it. The minute you start TTC? It goes bonkers. However I'm hoping for you this is just a bfp that is going to show up late :)

Due dates suck. Another thing that sucks is because mine was 22 Jan I was banking on using it as a quality excuse for not spending Xmas with the inlaws (8 months, can't travel far, etc). Damn, damn, damn. Roll on February, I say.

Aurora you may have toddled off by now but just wanted to say I hope your Dad's surgery goes well & your Mum remains calm!

kat2504 · 04/10/2010 20:18

dachs great to hear you can have ivf, the success rates sound very promising. Better than the natural method by the sounds of it so hopefully you will have the desired result soon.
aurora I know what you mean! the first half of 2010 was great for me until the pregnancy. All I think of now is I should have been x-number of weeks, I should know if it's a boy or girl, i should have been buying a pram, i should have been planning my leave, I should have been etc etc etc. I really hope I'm pg again by end of feb, if not the due date will be a nightmare, but I wish I didn't have this imaginary should-be pregnancy still continuing in my head but not my body. Really hope your dads surgery goes well.

Still no af, still bfn.....ultra early would have shown bfp by now I'm sure, so can I PLEASE please have my period? Tonight if possible!

Could someone please explain to me what I have missed about choice of fruit juice?

Velvetcu · 04/10/2010 19:17

Yes Aurora I too can't wait for this year to be over so I can get past my due date and hopefully then stop thinking about where I should be in my pregnancy. I'm not even being hopeful about getting a BFP before the year is out. Sorry to hear about your Dads surgery - mothers are a pain at the best of times let alone when they are hysterical!

We need some good news on here so maybe you were too early Wombat (not to get your hopes up but I didnt get a BFP til day 40 last time) and lets start a mantra for Dachs IVF :)

AuroraLeigh · 04/10/2010 16:38

Hello all, just wanted to say, I shall be vanishing for a week or so as my father is having a heart bypass this week so I shall be visiting him and staying with my hysterical mother.
Anyone else really want this year to be over, in the hope that 2011 just has to be better...? So many people seem to have had a crap 2010.
See you all soon x
PS Wombat sorry to hear about BFN. Fingers crossed for next month.

nickstermum · 04/10/2010 15:36
