So near, yet so far! Holiday villa for those waiting TTC#1 having suffered mc

Hi all,

I need to take a holiday with some lovely peeps in the same position; I'm TTC#1 but had 2 mc's this year and now discovered my luteal phase is only 9 days (anything under 10 considered a defect) and probably the reason that I cannot retain a pregnancy.

If you have yet to be blessed with motherhood because mc has cruelly taken away your chance so far, then this is the place to retreat for some R & R whilst your body recovers.

Pull up a sun lounger, and lie back for some lighthearted banter and support whilst monitoring cycles or undergoing investigation and wash down the Vit B6, Agnus Castus, Progesterone and Clomid with a lovely vodka glass of sparkling spring water!!

Ohhhh Christmas talk, I love it! I haven't even thought about pressie's yet! I do know I am getting DH a wallet, amongst other things though, as his has finally come to an end, perfect timing!

Dach's your letter to Santa made me cry, my Due date was Jan 17th and I am thinking if I am not upduffed this cycle I only have one more shot before that date arrives and I already know it's going to be the mother of all nightmares, so am hoping so badly for a Christmas bean for us all. Also, lady how is the mutt? (I know he got ill 3 weeks ago so apol's if I missed an update). Finally, I am sending the bean fairy to do a little dance over you with lots of sticky bean dust, fingers crossed :)

Beware, Big Fat rant alert! I am sick of hearing, always, from those lucky enough to already have kids, that I should ''chill out and if it's meant to happen it will''!! Well it's ok for them to say that because they have their dream!! Grrrrrrr! Sorry!

Seems, there has been a need for some hugs and plenty of cocktails whilst I been away! Sorry some of you have been having a rough ride, hugs all round xx

I got my DH a chef's knife and a knife skills [cookery] course last year, would he like that? If he likes food but not cooking it then how about a lovey meal out somewhere special? Depending on your budget, some of the london restuarants do a 'chef's table' option where you can eat at a table in the kitchen watching the chefs at work. Or is he into film? You could get a suround sound speaker system for the TV. If he likes driving, how about a track day in either a really fab sports car or a vintage car (depending on his preference). Or tickets to an event? Silverstone GP next year or some other sporting event? Tickets to see his fav football or rugby team? An outdoor concert? Last Night of the Proms? Theatre - a trip to stratford to see the RSC? Or there's all sorts of stuff on at the Royal Opera House in London (opera, ballet etc), you can even have dinner with a course served in each interval...

Any of these hitting the right note?

DachshundsRule · 15/11/2010 16:48

hmmm... what sort of stuff does he like? does he like music and have an iphone or ipod? you could get him a really nice speaker dock for it if so. Other than that not really got any suggestions - I find it really hard to buy stuff for DH. Does he like cooking? You could buy him a nice set of chef's knives.

Velvetcu · 14/11/2010 22:06

Hey ladies how are we all

Just thought I would puck your brains for Xmas pressies for DH. He is a software engineer so I can't get him anything he would actually like since I would only get the wrong spec/memory or something and he would get it cheaper elsewhere.

I have no idea what to get him every year so usually end up with something naff. I want to make an effort this year tho coz it's our 10yr wedding anniversary next week and he has been really great with the mmc and everything so any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, long time no typey.
Slight cross overs on few freds as I've been all neglecty to everyone.
I can't keep up, must try harder.

Hope all is well, nowt much has changed with me, starting faaaabulous noo job on Mon, well same company but more pennies and a promotion.
Bought our house, with this wind, starting to wish we hadn't. Confused
Nothing has flown off to Oz yet but one of the big trees looks a little wobbly.
It's only over the shed and pergola, but it would be nice to get a few insurance payments in, before we have to claim. Eeek.

I don't want a propercrimbo baby, had one last year Sad
Even though I've also been an awful good girl! Wink
Want to relax and it will be the first Christmas ever DP and I are alone on Christmas day.
(We're doing the faaahmilly thang Boxing Day.)
With new promotion I'm thinking of putting it off for a few months but as it's taken me most of the year unofficially trying ,it's sods law I'll be diffed pronto the moment I stop counting the days.

I hope Santa brings you all one though. Smile

Dachs is it todat you are being harvested?
Best a British to you!
Fingers crossed. xx

Wombat33 · 11/11/2010 19:16

Oh a Christmas BFP would be FAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd even happily forego the double cream with Bailey's that I otherwise planned to have with my booze-laden Christmas pud Grin

nickstermum · 11/11/2010 19:04

bfp and jewellery now that would be just the best!

HidingInTheBackRow · 11/11/2010 11:29

I'm not sure I have witnesses. Do you think I could bribe people with chocolate to tell santa I've been good? Wink

DachshundsRule · 10/11/2010 21:39

Early Christmas letter:

Dear Santa

We've been good this year. Very good. All of us. Please can we have BFPs for Christmas? All we need is a little BFP each. We won't ask for anything else. (Well, Dachshunds might ask for some jewellery from her DH, but she won't be asking for anything else from you, so that counts, right?)

If your elves need anything else to back up our stories about being good, we have lots of witnesses.

It's not much to ask. We haven't written letters to you for years. You'd make us very happy.

We won't even stay up on Christmas night to try to see you or the reindeer, and if you let us know what you would like us to leave out for you in terms of drinks and snacks of choice I'm sure we could easily arrange for you to have whatever it is that you would like.

Yours hopefully

The mumsnet MC TTC1 ladies

Anyone got any suggestions for improvements?

MummyAbroad · 10/11/2010 21:28

Greetings from the other thread Smile

The list has now reached 60 and become a bit unwieldy!

Are any of these ladies in here? and If so are you still interested in staying on the list?

DachshundsRule · 08/11/2010 22:02

Thanks lemon

X Factor result ridiculous! VEry cold here too. Had to go out and buy some gloves and a scarf earlier. Hope tomorrow is a little warmer.

lemonsherbet · 08/11/2010 20:21

Dach fingers crossed for you on Friday. It is freezing here and can still not believe the x-factor result from yesterday.

DachshundsRule · 08/11/2010 19:15

I agree. It's shit and depressing and I spent most of Friday evening sobbing about the f*ing unfairness of it all.

So, I had another appointment at the clinic today. It looks like egg collection will be on Friday and the embryologist will call me on Saturday to let me know how they are looking. There should be at least 10-12 follicles that they can get something from though, so fingers crossed there will be at least one or two good ones.

Really not sure how I'm going to focus on work this week. The baby thing is taking over my life somewhat!

Hope you are all well. Good luck and hope it gets better for you all soon

owlboots · 05/11/2010 19:38

Also, velvet I wish I knew when it gets better. At the moment I'm starting to think it doesn't. It's not as painfully raw as it was, say, 3 months ago, but it's still completely shit and depressing.

owlboots · 05/11/2010 19:34

I think you do, my lovely, and hopefully that prize will be a successful IVF in a few days time!

Have everything crossed for you x

IzzyWizzyletsgetsomesparklers · 05/11/2010 18:27
DachshundsRule · 05/11/2010 18:23

hello people :) I've been semi-lurking (not had the energy to turn the computer on when i get home, these IVF drugs are making me really tired. i DON'T recommend it...)

sorry for being a crap lurker...

thanks owl Do I get a prize for being the longest TTCer? ;)

They are hoping to collect my eggs next Wed, Thu or Fri so hopefully they'll get put back in about 3 days later and there might be a mini dachs... FX

I think I will lose hope totally if it doesn't work, so I've been a bit depressed lately. Sorry for not posting much, I just didn't want to spread my misery!

Hope you are all well

Velvetcu · 04/11/2010 22:18

Was just wondering how long it takes before its not so bad anymore. And does getting past your due date make a difference?

owlboots · 04/11/2010 22:01

In terms of longest TTC I think Dachs is probably the winner and I really hope things are going well for her, if she's lurking :)

owlboots · 04/11/2010 21:59

I think PV probably wins that prize, but she's hiding/lurking.

I was one day behind you, velvet , on June 4th.

This is not an anniversary I can see us celebrating!

Velvetcu · 04/11/2010 21:51

When does this all get easier? Which one of us MC'd the longest ago? My ERPC was June 3rd.

fireworknix · 03/11/2010 12:48

snottering too at that letter written & published by Rachel in response to Lily Allen.

owlshoes · 02/11/2010 21:17

Womble ! Nice to see you again :)

Orange at least now it's Winter they'll be mostly covered with coats so less obvious to us :)

Hiding I tended to find I was okay during the day but as soon as Mr Shoes fell asleep at night I was instantly awash with wailing and snottering - having time to think wasn't good for me. If you're super-busy at the moment it may well hit you when you get some quiet time - hopefully it won't be in the middle of a meeting :)

OrangeToeNails · 02/11/2010 21:06

Pregnant woman just sat next to me on train :(

wombat and hiding hope you're doing better soon, easier said than done I know
