So near, yet so far! Holiday villa for those waiting TTC#1 having suffered mc

MamaPower · 09/09/2010 18:02

Hi all,

I need to take a holiday with some lovely peeps in the same position; I'm TTC#1 but had 2 mc's this year and now discovered my luteal phase is only 9 days (anything under 10 considered a defect) and probably the reason that I cannot retain a pregnancy.

If you have yet to be blessed with motherhood because mc has cruelly taken away your chance so far, then this is the place to retreat for some R & R whilst your body recovers.

Pull up a sun lounger, and lie back for some lighthearted banter and support whilst monitoring cycles or undergoing investigation and wash down the Vit B6, Agnus Castus, Progesterone and Clomid with a lovely vodka glass of sparkling spring water!!

(de-lurks to say.......)

Im not feeling very christmassy either, and i LOVE christmas.... and i didnt think little bean would go to term either... everyone i have spoken to said i was very stressed about it and couldnt relax and on many occasions saying i wasnt sure it was going to stick, cos of my cycle length etc. You arent alone in that.

Sorry peeps are feeling rubbish :( (((((((((BIGSNUGGLES)))))))))) for everyone to feel better xxxx

PinkFondantFancy · 27/11/2010 13:59

Aghgh turns out she had a drink anyway. Charming. In such a freaking bad mood-clearly her baby came very easily to her if the only thing currently worrying her is how much mulled wine she can get away with.... I had recently been thinking that maybe my mc was sent to me to make me appreciate my baby more when it does arrive but clearly the logic doesn't work that way given the number of people that totally take it for granted. SO F*ING UNFAIR.

MamaPower · 26/11/2010 21:40

Awwww Pink I know it's hard not to tell people like that they're being selfish twats! DH surprised me recently when he told a pal of his that was bitching because his wife is expecting twins and how much hard work it would be and they would need a nanny and a cleaner to count themselves lucky and grow up... go Mrmamap!!
Anyway good to vent hun Grin Grin Now go enjoy cake and vino x

PinkFondantFancy · 26/11/2010 19:29

Pissed off! Spent day surrounded by people planning their paternity leave for their expected second kids and then a pregnant Facebook 'friend' was complaining that she can't have winter pimms and how shite that is. Aghgh just want to tell them all t f**k off!!! Settled for telling her I'd swap places if she wants, that should do the job...

MamaPower · 26/11/2010 09:29

pink I felt the same people kept asking if I was excited but just felt awful fear of 12 week scan. I read what was happening inside growth-wise but couldn't imagine it, now I wonder if that was why

PinkFondantFancy · 25/11/2010 21:10

Hello ladies, sorry haven't been around here much, has been taking all my energy trying to keep up with the chattermonsters on the other thread!!!

HUGE hugs for womby, velvet, mamap, dachs and everyone else that's feeling down. Fingers crossed Christmas will be much better than we're expecting it to be. I'm thinking about going skiing over chrimbo or new year to get away from things a bit and also find some silver lining from the non-updiffedness but haven't looked at prices and think they might scare me quite a lot!!!!!

mamap we're almost due-date twins - mine was 14th Jan I think. I think it must be some kind of traumatic stress memory loss because I can't exactly remember and can't bring myself to work it out.

Did any of you have a feeling when you first got preg that it just wasn't going to happen? I can't explain it, but I had this nagging feeling in the back of my mind that I shouldn't get my hopes up - I can't explain why. I never put the due date in my calendar, and I remember thinking to myself when I booked my 12 week booking in appointment at the midwife (that's right, you only get a booking-in at 12 weeks round my way) that if it had gone wrong by then I could just cancel it. I wonder how much of it is intuition, and how much of it is that I found out about my friend's MMC on the day I got my BFP.

Hello mrsB33 sorry you find yourself here, I hope you find these lovely ladies of some comfort though. They've all really helped me through some pretty tough times these last few months. xx

Velvetcu · 25/11/2010 20:52

MamaP - even the thought of an angel on a tree is making me cry so dont think I could actually have one!

Thank you all for understanding xxxxxxxx

MamaPower · 25/11/2010 14:06

Hi MrsB, sorry for your loss and that you are here but we're a lovely bunch come rain or shine!

There is a mother thread here to this one that is equally as supportive but be warned they chat fast and hard over there, we're a little slower paced here Smile

sorry bout the typo's at work and on my phone at lunch time trying to be discreet!!

MrsB33 · 25/11/2010 13:09

Hello Ladies Can i join, i dont seem to sit on the other threads very comfortably as i had my mc 9 weeks ago where all the other ladies had had mc's fairly recently.

So my story, 32, 33 in december, got pregnant the month after my wedding, yeyyy.
At 13 weeks i started to bleed, bleeding started mon was due to have dating scan on friday (talk about fate jumoing in a saving me the heart cahe of finding out at the scan)

well back to it, had a scan on the thursday as bleeding had got worse and cramping had started, well back ache (which i wasnt aware was cramping at the time)

At scan was told baby had died at 8 weeks and the sac was broken so miscarriage shoukd happen pretty quickly, so desided to take the natural root.

Just under a week later after numerous cramping and mini contraction sessions i actually miscarried during the nyt, taking 8 hours, losing lots of blood, fainting twice and being in terrible pain... it was all over!!

had my all clear scan a week later, and my first AF 5 weeks after.

Im not on my second AF and plan to start the ttc train from next week as ive had to take a month or so out due to having my rubella (MMR) jab.

I feel phyiscally ready, mentally im ok, its been difficult and the last two weeks i found myself slowly come out the big black whole i was stuck in and see life in a different light.

i got pregnant and fingers crossed i will again, just hopefully this time it will stick!!

xx

I wish none of us were here but since we are, I'm glad I'm here with you all, wonderful girls, thanks for picking me up.

I'm with Wombat I can feel some Christmas over indulgence coming on Wink

Velvet perhaps you could do something special this Christmas in rememberance of your baby? You would have had a tree, so perhaps you could do that with a twist, hang some little messages on it to your baby with some plain fairy lights and simple angel on top, watching over you all...just a thought!

OP posts:
Wombat33 · 24/11/2010 19:29

Oh Dachs. Hugs for you too. I'm still hoping for you. You're officially meant to test on Monday aren't you? So testing now is a bit like testing at 5 days post ov if you have a 10 day LP..? Maybe just too soon..?

DachshundsRule · 24/11/2010 18:54

feeling really anti-christmas myself at the moment. was SO hoping that the IVF would work. not sure how I'm going to get through it. mamap can I join your self pity party please? I love my dachshunds dearly and I'm glad they are there to snuggle up on me but i desperately want a baby and I just know deep down now that it's never going to happen. All the people I know who have had IVF have had a BFP when they tested at two weeks, even if they lost it later. And I'm currently having very negative BFNs. I just know it hasn't worked. And it's SO unfair.

Wombat33 · 24/11/2010 18:14

Oh Velvet. Hugs. I'm also struggling with the BFP announcements (here and in RL). I feel so bad getting upset at others' good news. It's not because I don't want them to be happy, it's just that it reminds me so clearly what I desperately want and don't [yet!] have. Makes me feel like a horrid person to resent others but there you go. I really really want to swoop into your house with mamap in tow and make it fabulously festive with lots of yummy food and drink and have a good old knees up. Won't make us conceive I know but after so long of being so 'good' I fear I'm in danger of a bit of excessive partying WinkSmile

Velvetcu · 24/11/2010 18:05

Hey MamaP

I have been MIA coz I feel exactly the same. I missed my pregnant before due date shot so I'm miserable too. I also have the "it's never gonna be me again" attitude. I also know that with my cycles being so random I have to leave it all to luck coz I have no idea when I'm going to ov. I sobbed my heart out in the bath last week on my first day of AF so you arent alone.

I can't take another BFP announcement right now so while I'm lurking I'm trying not to pay too much attention. It is soooo hard hearing the others talk about their kids too. It is really unfair.

I dont even think Im gonna be arsed with the xmas tree this year. It was supposed to be babys first xmas for me but instead i have to watch everyone else with their bundles of joy and pretend im not interested in having kids yet :(

Wombat33 · 24/11/2010 17:11

I can understand that. These dates are totally arbitrary really in the whole ttc process but some how they seem soooo important. I'm trying myself in knots thinking what stage I should be at now, at Christmas, at a friend's hen in the new year etc etc. I'm keeping everything crossed for a pre-Christmas and pre-due date BFP for you next month x

MamaPower · 24/11/2010 15:20

Thanks Wombat Smile, sorry for the self pity party!! I think the fact I only have one more shot before my due date is causing me extra anxiety...silly really!

Hi Guys! I'm not buying any prezzies this year! Instead am muttering things about the environment and consummerism and waste and such like even though really it is because I am just to bloody lazy. Bah Humbug! Grin

While we are on the 'annoying things people say', my sister is pregnant with her 3rd which was an accident, their 1st was concieved within 2 weeks of her coming off the pill and the 2nd within a year of the 1st.

Admittedly they don't know that me and dp have been trying for almost a year now or about the mc but I still got rather annoyed last time I saw them when, after the usual lecture about how they are so bloody fertile and how annoying it was that they kept popping out sprogs without a break, her DP asked me when I was going to 'get around to having kids'! I pointed out that not everyone is lucky enough to get pregnant from just looking at each other over a crowded room, thank you very much...which rather killed that conversation. [sticking out tongue and blowing rasberries emoticon]

DachshundsRule · 16/11/2010 09:30

mamap re: mutt - he's doing much better thanks. He was on antibiotics for nearly 3 weeks and the lump went down so much that the vet changed her mind about it being cancer and decided it was just a bad infection. So he's going in for a proper check up in about a month and if it still seems ok then he's probably fine.

sorry my letter made you cry :( I'm going to find Xmas really hard if I'm not updiffed by then, although my due date wasn't until March.

I like the rant - my sil keeps really annoyign me by saying things like 'well maybe you should have got yourself checked out sooner, you'd have been younger then and more likely to get pregnant. Still, at least you've got a niece and a nephew'. Makes me want to strangle her. Or something worse...
