So near, yet so far! Holiday villa for those waiting TTC#1 having suffered mc

Hi all,

I need to take a holiday with some lovely peeps in the same position; I'm TTC#1 but had 2 mc's this year and now discovered my luteal phase is only 9 days (anything under 10 considered a defect) and probably the reason that I cannot retain a pregnancy.

If you have yet to be blessed with motherhood because mc has cruelly taken away your chance so far, then this is the place to retreat for some R & R whilst your body recovers.

Pull up a sun lounger, and lie back for some lighthearted banter and support whilst monitoring cycles or undergoing investigation and wash down the Vit B6, Agnus Castus, Progesterone and Clomid with a lovely vodka glass of sparkling spring water!!

Great, had to start singing all the christmas songs out loud from 8am to come up with that...much to Dh's annoyance... he doesn't quite get that I wait 11months for Christmas and I am damn sure gonna make the most of it Xmas Grin

orestyemerrywombat · 01/12/2010 11:27

Oh thanks MammaC!! Love it!!!

MamaChristmas · 01/12/2010 09:51

Been thinking of christmassy names for you Wombat, not great but how about:

  1. ...awombatinasedgetree (useless fact I know from visiting oz for the last two years...wombats eat leaves from sedge trees)

  2. orestyemerrywombat

3)theonewombatopensleigh

  1. wombatbells
Velvetstocking · 30/11/2010 21:23

I'm a teacher so I get an apple discount. I will look up my code for you!

MamaChristmas · 30/11/2010 20:10

lmao Wombat I have been making the most of self indulgence until/if I ever get a bean to spoil and blow all my money on!!

Wombat33 · 30/11/2010 19:48

Just googled "wombat AND christmas" and apparently "The Christmas Wombat" is an Australian childrens book... Grin

Wombat33 · 30/11/2010 19:45

On different note. I need a Christmas name. Any ideas??

Wombat33 · 30/11/2010 19:44

OOH - my mother! Discounts sound great!

Wombat33 · 30/11/2010 19:43

BlushBlush I thought I was joking about getting him Jo Malone as I assumed it was for women only.. Blush now I'm really revealling my perfume AND gadget ignorance BlushWink

MamaChristmas · 30/11/2010 19:43

ooooh yes, lovely i-pad... do you know anyone that works in education?? They can get an educational discount for some Apple products online Grin

MamaChristmas · 30/11/2010 19:41

Great suggestion Dachs... iphone is a fab idea Smile

Wombat33 · 30/11/2010 19:41

Dachs he doesn't have an iPhone, but he has a BB with GPS. The BB is a work one so he doesn't have to pay the bill himself, so I think he'd rather stick with that than an iPhone. Was also thinking of an iPad though (mostly 'cause I think they're cool!!). Crazy expensive, but he hasn't got me anything yet so maybe it could be our Christmas & bday presents to each other for the next year Grin?

MamaChristmas · 30/11/2010 19:39

ooooh yes, I got DH some Jo Malone last year as a stocking filler... www.jomalone.co.uk/ from recollection 154 or Grapefruit for men is very nice... but perhaps Mrwombat will not thank me for steering (no pun intended) you in the wrong direction if he was expecting sat nav accessories Grin

DachshundAntlersRule · 30/11/2010 19:35

wombat does dh have an iphone or anything? if so, a kindle is probably not worth it as there is a kindle app for the iphone

also, iphones can be used as sat nav devices as they have inbuilt gps

so i'd get him an iphone if he doesn't have one! two birds with one stone!

Wombat33 · 30/11/2010 19:30

D'oh - typos! did not mean to question whether H is D!! I meant "get DH some Jo Malone" obviously!! Blush

Wombat33 · 30/11/2010 19:29

Me too MamaC hence needing advice!! Am vv impressed with your purfume knowledge. Perhaps I should just give up and get D?H so Jo Malone (whatever that is!) HmmGrinGrin

MamaChristmas · 30/11/2010 19:26

ps Sat Nav's, what are they?? Sorry wombat I still use an old fashion map!! Blush

MamaChristmas · 30/11/2010 19:25

Me too, in fact I have today, blocked 3 friends from their updates appearing in my news feed as they are all due the week I was and one of them had a status update today saying she couldn't enjoy the snow as she had no maternity wear to cope with the cold!!! I didn't feel angry just sad!

I'm so glad that at least everyone on this thread understands how the others are feeling and I would dearly love some bfps and a bit of positive news for anyone on this thread, even though I fear the green eyed monster would strike!

On the perfume front...

Wombat33 · 30/11/2010 17:11

Argh Velvet - that FB friend would drive me nuts too. I have also blocked some pg friends on FB Blush but then I torture myself by going to their pages tosee any news. I am so obsessed that I can't leave it alone even if baby news will make me feel sad. I've even started struggling to maintain my morale when people on the mother thread get their bfps and that makes me even more gloomy becasue I don't like and don't want to be that person who is so self-obessed she can't be happy for others :(

Hmmm perfume. I wear Chanel Allure which I love! I don't fit into any of your categories but I guess it would work for the 20-25 or the 45-50. Would the 60+ like No.5? So timeless and classy I always think. Or I also have D&G Light Blue which is a younger scent. I'm not a big perfume person so I'm probably not best person to advise!

Do you know anything about Kindles or Sat Navs? Two things my DH has mentioned he'd like for Christmas (other than a bean...).

Velvetstocking · 30/11/2010 16:43

Its just so hard isnt it. At least the others on the mother thread know they can carry a baby to term!

I have had to hide a former colleague on FB before I get angry and post something! She is due around the same time I should be (2 weeks) and she hasnt stopped fucking moaning about the whole pregnancy - shes too sick, too tired, too fat, too uncomfortable, too hot etc etc. Well I have endured all this because as DH says other peoples lives are nothing to do with us but I can take it no longer after this mornings comment - "it's not fair - everyone has a snow day except me because I'm on maternity leave". FFS!!!!!!! Angry

I find it doesnt help when people say "it will be your turn soon". It's already been my turn! I can't do anymore than I am without getting proper obsessive. I have taken a big step back from it all coz it's far too stressful.

I know you ladies understand but still I'm sorry for the meme rant!

I'm trying to do xmas shopping too and I have no idea what to get people. Anyone got suggestions for perfume for people of the following age ranges
20-25
45-50
60+

Fingers crossed for another snow day tomorrow - tis far too dangerous for the little shits lovely teenagers to come to school Wink

Wombat33 · 30/11/2010 15:17

Maybe I should focuss my attention on acheiving some "moments of ultimate calm". They sound good :)

Wombat33 · 30/11/2010 15:15

Hello peeps. Thought I'd come and pop into to this little thread for some sanctuary. How is everyone today? I'm struggling to get motivated for work today after spending yesterday cuddling a tiny newborn. I've never seen a baby that young before. Please please please doon't let is be too long before I see another (my own). My DH was sooo cute with the little one. Made me fall in love with him all over agin :)

MamaChristmas · 29/11/2010 10:13

Pink I have my moments of ultimate calm and reasoning and then I have my very uncalm moments where I'd like to tell the world to go... hee hee!

I think it just depends on the time of the month as to my response, if you had posted a day before my af I'd have probably told you to tell her what a selfish, thoughtless cow she was!! lol! GrinGrin

PinkFondantFancy · 28/11/2010 09:13

mamap you are such a lovely, wise, zen lady :) Tell me - have you always been this zen-ful, or is it something you've had to work at? xx

MamaPower · 27/11/2010 17:36

Well that sucks Pink, but you just gotta feel sad for them for taking it for granted instead of treasuring every single second, but you know the heart ache and struggle and because of that won't take it for granted when you get your baby and your baby will be loved all the more and all the better for it. We'll get there chick... xx
