So near, yet so far! Holiday villa for those waiting TTC#1 having suffered mc

Hi all,

I need to take a holiday with some lovely peeps in the same position; I'm TTC#1 but had 2 mc's this year and now discovered my luteal phase is only 9 days (anything under 10 considered a defect) and probably the reason that I cannot retain a pregnancy.

If you have yet to be blessed with motherhood because mc has cruelly taken away your chance so far, then this is the place to retreat for some R & R whilst your body recovers.

Pull up a sun lounger, and lie back for some lighthearted banter and support whilst monitoring cycles or undergoing investigation and wash down the Vit B6, Agnus Castus, Progesterone and Clomid with a lovely vodka glass of sparkling spring water!!

Our little villa had fallen off the first page of the conception threads so I thought I'd bump it. How is everyone this morning?

Nix - wish I could afford to do both but it would be a bit crazier and more reckless than I'm capable of being I think [cautious person emoticon] Xmas Grin

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 08/12/2010 12:19

go for the holiday and the car wombo sure fire +ve then Xmas Grin Xmas Grin (as long as you get one that you can switch the front air bags off...just in case Xmas Grin)

MamaChristmas · 07/12/2010 17:56

ha ha ha Wombat do it, you're absolutely right, get the sports car and you'll be expecting within 9 months of delivery!! Do it Xmas Grin Xmas Grin

Owl whilst I can't wait to get a bean I know I will fear going to the loo so I totally get that! Try to relax hon and think positive. Def keep stalking us Xmas Smile

orestyemerrywombat · 07/12/2010 15:00

Please do keep stalking Owly, we'd miss you if you abandoned us totally!

Hugs for Velvet, are you feeling any brighter today lovely??

. Still umming on the holiday. Maybe we should wait and book last minute...? Am also toying with the idea of buying a (second hand) sports car Xmas Blush. I'm thinking if anything is guaranteed to get me upduffed, blowing our carefully saved housedeposit/maternity leave fund to buy something totally incompatible with a baby has to be it, surely?! Xmas Grin.

owlbooty · 07/12/2010 14:32

Mmm holidays. Aus sounds brilliant, Wombat , I'd definitely go for it. Tis impossible to put your entire life on hold because of ttc but having done exactly that for 8 months of my life so far I am in no position to give advice :)

MamaC I'm checking my knickers every 10 minutes and fretting because I haven't thrown up yet. Grin Am not complaining, mind, just massively, massively nervous about this.

Am so looking forward to finding the next bfp on this thread, I shall keep stalking you lot until I do Grin

wakarimasen · 06/12/2010 12:58

orest I think a holiday would be fine in April especially since Australia has similar standards of healthcare to here. I love my holidays so will always find a way to jet off somewhere new Smile

orestyemerrywombat · 06/12/2010 11:42

Good lord - awful spelling. Sorry!

orestyemerrywombat · 06/12/2010 11:42

Morning lovelies! Wakarimasen, Velvet I'm having the same dillemma re holidays. DH wants to go to Oz in April (over my MC due date - which inciidentally now has a royal wedding on it just to make sure I can't miss the occasion!!). I'd love to go, but obviously I'm going to be upduffed by then (Xmas Hmm) so I'm apprehensive about the flights and being so far from home if something goes wrong again.

MamaChristmas · 05/12/2010 17:59
MamaChristmas · 05/12/2010 17:55

I second that Wakari and well said Xmas Smile so velvet go book that jolly and if you get upduffed in the meantime you won't even care if you lose money... as nix said it'll give you a boost having something to look forward too Xmas Smile

Waves to Orange, Dachs and Wombat

How you getting on Owl?

wakarimasen · 05/12/2010 16:42

I've booked a holiday to Sri Lanka for Easter Time. We were going to hold off but putting your life on hold only makes things worse I think. Only worry is that if I'm lucky to fall pg again I will be extremely anxious in a country so far away Confused but you need to carry on......

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 05/12/2010 12:18

((((((velvet)))))) just what you need to book a holiday, something to look forward to always gives me a boost Xmas Grin

Sods law....when you have booked it you know what will happen huh?!? oh, i do hope so x

DontEatOrangeSnow · 05/12/2010 08:38

Morning everyone

wombat sorry about the unexpected pg announcement, I hope you're having a better day today

Have you thought about when you might try again?

velvet i hate the uncertainty that ttc brings to holiday plans, I'm not committing to snowboarding until a week before

Well, DH left for the week yesterday, so we're officially done on the SWI front for this month! I haven't had another OPK+ or ewcm so if nothing by Weds/CD22 I will assume I did OV on day 14/15 Xmas Confused

Velvetstocking · 04/12/2010 23:01

Oh and hugs to wombat re the unexpected announcement. How unfair!

Velvetstocking · 04/12/2010 23:00

Thanks for being so positive owl but I'm really not feeling it. I don't even think I am going to ov this month but at least that will stop me symptom spotting I guess! I am ready to give up. I have deleted my pg app and I'm looking at booking my Easter hol to japan which we wouldn't be able to do if I was pg.

I still have my fx for the rest of you though! I just get out of my pit of gloom for me atm :(

I'm getting annoyed with myself for being so miserable! Forget the mulled wine I'm opening the sherry Xmas Grin

owlbooty · 04/12/2010 13:03

Velvet there is absolutely no way you are a horrible person, I think it's fair to say we've all felt like that - extra teeth-grinding are the ones where it was an 'accident', grrrrrrrr.

There's a bunch of us in here who all arrived about the same sort of time and I have everything crossed that this thread will soon be empty because you've all got the bfps you so rightly deserve - it will happen.

And when it does I shall be doing my happy skippy dance because you lot are ace :) I've got everything crossed for a flood of Xmas bfps xx

MamaChristmas · 04/12/2010 11:30

oh no, what bollox!! Just what you didn't need! With a little bit of luck and much swi I hope you'll be making your own announcement soon enough sweets xx

orestyemerrywombat · 03/12/2010 23:47

Argh. I should have stuck with the film. Instead I went out for dinner with friends and got blindsided by another, totally unexpected pregnancy announcement.

Any of those mince pies left?

Hugs to you all xxx

MamaChristmas · 03/12/2010 20:11

awww babe, don't be silly, you are not a horrible person and it's nothing that each of hasn't thought at some time or other!!

I haven't even had one mine pie yet !!

Wipe those tears, hugs to each of you Dachs Wombat and Velvet

Velvetstocking · 03/12/2010 19:34

I cried again this morning (seems to be daily atm) coz our friend who was due a week after us had her little girl this morning :(

I feel bad for being so jealous and I actually said it isnt fair since she already has a 2yr old so why did she get to have another one when I dont have my first! I am a horrible person.

And yes please to the mulled wine but I am all mince-pied out atm!

MamaChristmas · 03/12/2010 19:23

I love that film, one of my fave xmas films, along with a Muppet Christmas carol and It's a wonderful life but I treated myself to SATC2 today so am on the sofa with the fab4 and Big for company ;-)
I'm up for a slice of the cake though, oh go on then a little mulled wine to wash it down be lovely.
It's so hard when everyone around you is either pg or seemingly very easily getting pg... But I guess we never know what those women have gone through to get their little beans. Feeling your pain but think positive...I know it's hard, I am determined to stay positive this month because DH is being fabulous and tomorrow we start SWI and we are both giving it our all this month!!

orestyemerrywombat · 03/12/2010 19:05

Don't think I've ever seen that one so don't mind if I do! Hope I haven't missed the beginning.

DachshingThroTheSnow · 03/12/2010 18:51

I've stuck Miracle on 34th Street if anyone wants to watch it with me.

Thanks wombat
