So near, yet so far! Holiday villa for those waiting TTC#1 having suffered mc

MamaPower · 09/09/2010 18:02

Hi all,

I need to take a holiday with some lovely peeps in the same position; I'm TTC#1 but had 2 mc's this year and now discovered my luteal phase is only 9 days (anything under 10 considered a defect) and probably the reason that I cannot retain a pregnancy.

If you have yet to be blessed with motherhood because mc has cruelly taken away your chance so far, then this is the place to retreat for some R & R whilst your body recovers.

Pull up a sun lounger, and lie back for some lighthearted banter and support whilst monitoring cycles or undergoing investigation and wash down the Vit B6, Agnus Castus, Progesterone and Clomid with a lovely vodka glass of sparkling spring water!!

Aw, Womble . Perhaps next month will be everyone's month what with Dachs doing the IVF thing and all.

Hope the scan goes well - is total arse about the tube strike though.

Wombat33 · 04/10/2010 11:18

Morning all. I poas this morning and BFN. Day 29 here so although it's not 100% certain, I feel in my heart that it's not my month :( Off too hospital tonight for anotherscan to try and work out why I'm still soo uncomfy. That is, if I manage to make it there through the tube strike. Bah humbug.

On the up side, had a lovely weekend.

owlshoes · 04/10/2010 10:13

owl maybe I won't wait for frosts either then :)

dachs sorry you're having a tough time and have had a bad day - fingers crossed for IVF and building work!

Going househunting again tomorrow as DH has suddenly taken against the beautiful Victorian house we were going to buy...

DachshundsRule · 02/10/2010 20:19

Hello people

Thank you for not being grumpy that I've been out of circulation for a few days.

Bad day.

Builder didn't turn up (then said that he was waiting for the French doors he'd asked to be altered and didn't know the place wasn't open on a Saturday. Lame excuse or am I being harsh?)

Given that we were expecting the building work to have been finished I had lots of other orders arriving today. One of them didn't turn up (from Argos) and I called their customer service number and was on hold for 40 MINUTES!!!!!!! Didn't manage to speak to anyone. Then discovered that their customer service number is only open until 5 (even though deliveries are theoretically until 6), and I called at 5.05.

Anyway, rant over. We spent the afternoon sorting out the lounge even though the building work isn't finished - it's going to look GREAT so am happy. Now eating pizza and watching the X Factor, with a glass of red wine :)

owl - yep success rates are >50% for my age bracket for my clinic for IVF, as opposed to

owlshoes · 02/10/2010 20:15

Bugger waiting for the frosts; I've gone out and picked loads and shoved them in the freezer. Grin The house will soon be awash with gin.

Velvetcu · 02/10/2010 16:22

I'm looking forward to the chocolate cake!

I wouldnt mind some of the damson gin too :)

When can you start IVF Dachs?

AuroraLeigh · 02/10/2010 16:07

Cigars only because I am an ex-smoker and suddenly had violent cravings that I was too grumpy to overcome, but refused to leave the house to buy fags so rooted through my evening bags until I found a collection of cigars left over from our honeymoon five years ago. How sad am I?!
Ooh damson gin...am waiting for the frosts so I can make some sloe gin.

owlshoes · 02/10/2010 10:56

3 cigars!!! I had a wine glass full of last year's home made damson gin and feel rough like a badger's arse this morning.

Dachs tis lovely to hear from you - buggeration about the horrible drugs but hoorah for the IVF as I believe the success rates are much better than IUI? I think it's fair to say that we all have everything crossed for you :)

Please do not murder your builder but do feel free to dose his last cuppa of the day with some heavy-duty laxatives. That'll learn him Grin

AuroraLeigh · 02/10/2010 10:04

owl I'm using cheapies, too much of a cheapskate to pay for the expensive ones!

Had small meltdown last night, now v hungover and wishing I hadn't had 3 cigars...! Will now go and make chocolate cake for all x

DachshundsRule · 01/10/2010 22:51

Sorry I've been crap, but the failed IUI hit me harder than I thought it would and have been indulging in lots of crying and misery.

Wen t to the clinic yesterday, and they have agreed to ket us have IVF on the next cycle instead of trying another two IUI cycles.

So need to take lots of horrid drugs, but FX this one will work.

By the way, I may disappear for ever over the weekend as I understand that being arrested for murder can get you in a little trouble, and I think I might have to kill my builder.

nickstermum · 01/10/2010 21:08

Grin grin]

owlshoes · 01/10/2010 19:40

Well timed, Aurora , as your soup will go nicely with the pumpkin seed and spelt flour loaf I have just made (okay, we do too much cooking).

Are you OPKing with cheapies? I cannot believe the difference in price between the cheapies and the (for example) ClearBlue ones. Christ on a Bike. It's cynical and exploitative of us POAS-fixated women, that's what it is. Have decided I'm not taking any of the damn things on hols, I'm convinced they're actually making it worse.

AuroraLeigh · 01/10/2010 12:26

Getting arrested or getting stuck would be an even better story to tell the DC, but on the other hand might not get your hols off to the best start...

Wombat33 · 01/10/2010 12:06

Ooh Aurora that sounds yummy, yes please! Glad you had a good hol. Hope you feel better soon.

mammp/owl humm, mile high club... well it would be a good story to tell the resulting DC!!

AuroraLeigh · 01/10/2010 11:07

Morning all, am back from a lovely holiday to find that you all seem to have succumbed to some kind of lurgy! Hope you are all beginning to recover from colds/flu/wasps etc in time for the weekend. I have just made some sweet potato and coconut soup with parmesan and tomato bread, if anyone would like some (cakes will be baked tomorrow).
Am OPK-ing a lot. Beginning to think I will never ovulate again. (see earlier post about me being impatient).

owlshoes · 01/10/2010 09:20

Oh bloody hell, that really is a tricky one - let's face it, you can't exactly do the legs in the air afterwards thing in a aeroplane loo. You would probably get arrested. Or hopelessly stuck. Grin

MamaPower · 30/09/2010 23:43

I am finally lurgy free!! Thank you all for supply of lemsip!

I hope you killed the bugger for stinging you Kat?

Velvet, I think mother nature is a gruel biatch! I have sore boobs and cramps and there is no way it happened this month as me and dh were not together at the right time!! No wonder we all drive our selves nuts!

Owl im in the same boat as you next cycle in fact, if my cycle stays the same, I shall ovulate somewhere between here and kuala Lumpa...2 night stopover en route to oz!! O plan on lots of SWI before hand and hope the little blighters are there and waiting {wink] Either that or join the mile high club Grin Grin Grin

hugs and cocktails all round xx

owlshoes · 30/09/2010 16:41

Hello you lovely lot.

Velvet YES - it is bloody irritating. I had all manner of symptoms this month that I couldn't possibly have imagined including what was surely a bit of implantation bleeding but no; apparently not, and AF arrives a day early (yay!). I am now suspecting it was a chemical pregnancy which is v.annoying.

Kat Ouch indeed. Wasps are all evil.

Is everyone recovering from the plague yet?

Am trying to plan next month's strategy as we are going on hols the week of the SWI. As I pretty much know I will ovulate that week, am considering leaving the CBFM behind and just trying to relax instead (which I am shit at, basically).

Not sure I can bear to be without my comforting gadget though, I've grown quite attached to it. Any thoughts?

Velvetcu · 29/09/2010 18:07

Oooh Kat sounds painful!!

Question: Why does your body provide stupid symptoms to get you wondering??? I had some streaky brown stuff today and its way too early for AF......isn't it?

kat2504 · 29/09/2010 17:30

Ha Ha MP very funny. when I say last night, I actually meant "early evening" and I was still at work at the time! So I wasn't imagining any such thing. Have a ridiculous 20 cm rash/swelling now and have been to the docs for a load of pills. Ouch!!!!

Hope all you lurgy ladies are feeling better today. I'm just waiting for a visit from our favourite Auntie. Pretty much certain she is coming to stay, so wish she would get a move on so I can plan some special days for next month!

MamaPower · 29/09/2010 11:58

Kat I shouldn't laugh but I had visions of you thinking that that little gentle touch you thought was the sensation of dh gently working his fingers inside your thigh and working towards... and it actually turned out to be a bloody wasp, not exactly what you had in mind to have between your thighs hey babe Grin Grin Grin
Go get some anthistamine and stay away from wasps, they're bloody grumpy, sleepy and agressive little barstewards at this time of year!! xx

OP posts:
kat2504 · 28/09/2010 21:15

Oh dear it's an epidemic in here sounds like a lot of ailments, hope those of you with the nasty flu are better soon - keep downing the lemsips. You are all off to the hotel spa for a nice massage!

I have been attacked by an evil nasty wasp last night. On my inner thigh!! Am in mega pain and itching like crazy now. Evil thing!
