Help - A 9wk old baby and desperately want to get pg again... is this normal??!

I've recently given birth to a gorgeous little bubby, but am totally desperate to be pg again.

It took over a year to conceive #1. i'm over the world to be a mummy and can't believe my luck. Not sure if urgency is due to this or baby hormones...

Not even sure how we can get pg as I'm BF and it seems BF is 99% effective contraceptive. Seems like unless i stop, its going to be impossible. ;-( but won't stop feeding yet, as its important to me to look after bubby.

DH is v understanding but DTD is not easy, had forceps delivery and episotiomy, so still uncomfortable and finding it diff to become a temptress to tempt hubby to jump me as DTD is painful and he works long hrs and not sleeping cos of bubby!

Anyone in a similar situ / advice would be much appreciated... Am i going mad??!

Big thanks x

Yes! I wanted to be a mw too! Hormones.... Newmummy- how much of an issue if you don't mind me asking? If it's any consolation my cm had 5 from late 30s onwards, no multiples. She's my heroine!

It's why a cousin of dh's had 3 girls under the age of 1!

Trying to work this out - two of them were twins, or they were triplets Grin ???

thanks all for the wise words.

stainesmassif - yes, age is against me, maybe that's also part of the issue subconciously.

summery - being a midwife must be v rewarding, thanks for the support.

Definitely hormones.

I too wanted to be pregnant again almost straight away and also become a midwife!

Hormones.

It's why a cousin of dh's had 3 girls under the age of 1!

Hormones can return in a real rush but do subside.

It's normal and will pass.

New baby hormones make you do crazy things like want to get pregnant and use the words dtd and bubby. It gets better.

god no are you insane woman?

Although dh and his sister have less than a year between them Hmm. His mother still moans about it nearly 40 years later :o

I recommend a nice cup of tea!

Definately hormones! I went to a baby group when DD was little and around this age the talk was almost incessantly about more babies...one or two succumbed.

Hormones. When ds was little I remember thinking I'd like to have twins, triplets, six at least. I'd still like more, but I think that was definitely hormones. Unless time is against you I think it's a good idea to give yourself a bit of a break before going straight into the next. Is age a concern?
