Time for us to move home again ladies!

Hello ladies, how are you all doing?

harry so glad to hear your pg is progressing nicely - phew! 17 weeks already.

keziah nice to see you - hope you are holding up ok.

So sorry that so many of you have been caught out by AF - its rubbish and so disappointing. I do keep up with you all just dont post that much or havent this month as ive been such a miserable old bag. Really had high hopes for last month and now im so close to the one year ttc mark im feeling a little like its never going to happen. But! Counting my blessings everyday iykwim.

Misslolita thats great news - BFP's on here aplenty this month.

On 11dpo here today and despite saying i wasnt going to test early after last month i did a sneaky dip test internet cheapy this morning and got a faint line, did 4 more before going out and faint lines on them as well - just did two more before bed and they have fairly strongish lines on each. Used the plastic coated slightly less senstive (20 miu instead of 10 miu) and nothing on those so its either very early or its a pg going tits up like last month again, i know, i know! Im my own worst enemy BUT in my defence i was going out and just thought id have a quick check before quaffing lots of wine - in the end im so tired we came home early and of course no wine for me! Will see what the next two days bring - AF due either day after tomorrow or Monday but have had 7 positives on those internet cheapies today so something is happening just need it to stick now.

On another note, we did a haunted hayride this evening and it was brilliant. Actors jumping out at you and it was very very dark - such fun! My DC's love Halloween and dress up and decorate the house, they love the fact that they have a younger brother as an excuse to go out trick or treating and dressing up.

Hope you all have a fab weekend, will let you know if i get a more positive positive by Monday - might even break out the First Response on Sunday! After last month i am sort of ambivelent as i know it could easily happen again but there is something about seeing those second lines come up that give you just the teeneyist tinyist bit of hope hope so we shall see.

KnackeredCow · 29/10/2010 22:03

Lychees Clocks going back - good point.

Was thinking about that today when I reset the CBFM - testing windows will change this month and move back an hour - reducing lie in time at weekends .... [hsad]

Liking the caveman style idea. Am laughing lots! Grin

Glad the new stats are going down well (just like the wine I'm currently slurping)...

MissLolita brilliant news! Congrats!!! [hgrin] Everything crossed for you this month (except my legs as not conducive to allowing Mr KnackeredCow to impregnate me - sorry TMI [hblush])

Off to finish my vino

AnytimeNOW · 29/10/2010 19:49

Yay MisL fingers crossed x

MissLolita · 29/10/2010 19:13

Hi all, just popping in, I've been on holiday (from work rather than some fabulous glam location) and staying with my parents who have no internet access!!
Hope you are all ok? I've skimmed the posts and I seem to have missed lots!
Anyway, some possible good news - I did a test earlier today and got a faint second line! Admittedly the line is VERY faint but it is a line. I even got dh to double check it. I know it's really early days and I'm not getting my hopes up but I'm quietly a bit excited Smile
Got to dash again - sorry to jump in and out!

Lychees · 29/10/2010 19:11

Well done on the new stats, KC ... very good idea. Sorry about AF getting you.

This month we have decided to do it caveman-style so although I will still be poas for my CBFM, we are going to BD every other day from tomorrow night until AF ... or at least we're going to give it a good try.

Hope you all have fab weekends.

I'm hoping that for Halloween there will be some good scary movies on TV ... I love a good horror [not the gore-fests though]. Also, clocks go back so an extra hour in bed [hopefully].

Keziahhopes · 29/10/2010 17:29

KC you are a star!!

Boba - where are you at with testing/treatment, or are you going to beat your cd of 100?

KnackeredCow · 29/10/2010 12:51

Emma I've updated for you Smile

Everyone also did a search for Hairytriangle's posts and I see she's now on the pregnancy board and 8 weeks! Have moved her into graduates.

Hey All Just popping in to say hello x

Sorry to hear AF might be on its way PinkCustard I feel exactly the same, I feel we've tried really hard this month but I will not be suprised if AF arrives a week on Saturday Sad It's hard to stay positive when you keep getting a BFN isn't it?! People say it'll happen soon and you want to believe them, but its makes you believe it'll never happen - i know exactly what you mean when you say you think it'll never happen. XX

Anytimenow FX for when you go to the clinic - hopefully you'll get some answers and some help if needed. Must be very frustrating for you, not knowing why it keeps happening.

Something that might cheer you all up my Managing Director was the in the office yesterday and said 'right Team - we're going to do some training on BD'ing i nearly laughed my head off really loud - and thought - if only you know - i spend a week doing that non stop most months [hblush]!!! xxx

KnackeredCow · 28/10/2010 19:23

Hi Ladies

Harry2007 Glad to hear that your pregnancy is going well. Good luck!

PinkCustard Sorry to hear AF has got you

AnytimeNOW Good luck for the doctor's appointment.

Well AF has just arrived this evening for me too. [hsad] I'll re-set my stats tomorrow.

I'd been getting all excited too as I know the luteal phase is pretty steady from month to month. Last month I peaked on CD15 and ov'd CD16. AF arrived evening of CD28 so my luteal phase was 12 days.

Got peak on CD15 this month too. Again, ov'd on CD16 so when I was still only spotting yesterday and AF proper hadn't arrived I began wondering... always dangerous. Weird though that my LP has been 14 days this month....

Keziahhopes · 28/10/2010 19:21

Anytime - printout of all results is helpful. Am sure at referral clinic they will test Dh again, and if he was ill last time you may find results much better. My dh has fruit, veg, protein, brazil nuts and seeds and takes multivits!! However he has an antibody so ICSI it needs to be, but diet has helped his numbers noticeably!!!!

PinkCustard - would definitely get an apt for dh's SA.

AnytimeNOW · 28/10/2010 15:12

Hi all...

Thanks Lychees we are going to Dr's on Monday, so will ask for print out of results, and hoping to arrange another test soon. DP was full of cold when he did sample, and was taking flu meds, so we are hoping for a better result next time.

Choccie thanks for your advice, and yes I understand that my age probably is a major factor in the mc's...but they are recurrent (May, chemical in July and another mc in September) so I appear t be able to conceive, but just not hold onto it...maybe DP and I both have fertility issues?.
Did they investigate you and your DH?.
My GP has agreed to send me to recurrent mc clinic in Liverpool.

KC glad you managed to change DH appointment! and yes my DP made a huge fuss over doing the "Wank bank thing"[hsmile], and then I asked if he would like to swop and give tubes, and tubes of blood? (he has a really bad fear of needles)!!!!.

Keziah Hope your ok? and thanks for advice, we will ask for copy of results on Monday.
I think his GP was quite shocked at the result? and didn't mention doing another, but on a plus side agreed to refer him.
Not sure what that will involve, but hope will a better managed diet his swimmers may improve on their own?...I have stocked up on Bananas, and conception Man!.

Hello to everybody else! seems a few of us have had the dreaded red tide of doom arrive in the last few days...Oh well onwards and upwards girls[hwink]

PinkCustard · 28/10/2010 14:38

Well I've just discovered that familiar red streak when I went to the loo so looks like AF will be on its way soon. How crap. Was stupidly quite hopeful this month as we really did everything we could. Am beginning to wonder if it's ever going to happen for us Sad

I had plannned to keep trying til the New Year before persuading DH to get a SA done but think I need to crank up the pressure to get him there sooner as it's just not happening and if we do need tests etc why wait?

Soory for me me me post, just on the usual crash down after the tense days waiting to see if AF will appear or not.

Keziahhopes · 28/10/2010 13:36

Hello Harry - glad all going well for you! Thanks for hugs, much appreciated today! x

Harry2007 · 28/10/2010 12:24

Hi all,

Just popped in to say congrats to Emmylou and to send hugs to Keziah xxxx

Well, I'm 17 weeks now - another big baby so my due date has been moved from April to March Grin

Don't want any of you to think that I've forgotten about you - I do keep up to speed with the thread regularly.

Good luck to you all xxx

Keziahhopes · 27/10/2010 23:46

KC - great news about the charity post, hope that proves a good avenue for you. Yes 4 days is great, as time to have appointments etc that don't have to be fitted into work nights etc, a lie-in and so on but work also! Great you got a 1 week delay.

Anytime - the standard protocol if a SA isn't producing average or good results is to repeat the SA. This is because it could be an abnormal result -- men prodcuce a fresh supply of sperm every 3 months (my poor dh has had 4 SA's so far!!), and if dh ill for eg during that time it can affect results etc. Did the Gp give you a copy of what average results are for you to compare with? If not remind me on here and I will dig out my dh's from the folder!! But 46% motility sounds quite good I think.

KnackeredCow · 27/10/2010 18:19

Sorry for bad grammar Blush

KnackeredCow · 27/10/2010 18:18

No there's no point of testing on the second peak day. The monitor doesn't read the result. To save money, this cycle I reused the test stick from the day I first get the peak and keep on using it until it asks me to stop testing Wink

Unless you ovulate at the back end of 36 hours after the first peak it's very unlikely that you'll get pg on the high the day after the 2nd peak day.

AnnamariaHun · 27/10/2010 17:57

Thanks for the advice.
I've used Clearblue OV monitor for 3 cycles and it went to peak without high 2 out of the 3.
So a question to those of you who are experienced users.
after the first peak day it asks you to test and then gives you another day of peak
is there any point testing on this second day as from the information book it seems that it will always give you another peak day once it detected the first one

and then we also get another high day on the other end
is that realistic that it's possible to get pregnant on that day (after having 1 high and 2 peak days)?
(sorry if im not being very clear)

KnackeredCow · 27/10/2010 15:43

Hi All Thanks for advice re appointment at Andrology Lab for SA.

Phoned DH, told him when appointment was and that it was mid-cycle. Gave him number of clinic and told him to ring them.

He's just called me. Lab was really understanding and appointment is deferred by just 1 week until 18th November.

Thank you for the advice everyone. Was most helpful. Grin

chocciechip · 27/10/2010 14:39

anytime I deferred an SA appointment for my DH this month for exactly the same reason. They were very understanding. As for your two MCs - I hate to say this because it hurts to hear (I know!) - but your age is a factor ... so don't assume there's something drastically wrong with either of you.

I have also had two MCs, at the same age you were, and I was told that the one thing everyone tells 'older' women is that they might not get PG; what they don't say, is they will get PG but have a higher rate of MCs. Your eggs are not what they were.

Also MC at 6-8 weeks is the most common time to MC. And very early MCs (5 weeks) are very common for all women regardless of age - most women don't even know they've had one. A lot of foundation baby-making development happens very quickly in these early weeks. So baby will reach for the 'material' it needs from your egg, and if a small detail is missing or corrupt in the egg (more likely as you get older), the PG will fail.

This does NOT mean all your eggs are faulty: it means you've had bad luck twice in a row. Nothing more, nothing less.

I am not sure it is automatically on your DH's side. I've been told that usually only the fittest and best sperm make it to the egg in the first place (it's a marathon so they NEED to swim fast and well to get there). So if I were you I'd take huge heart from the fact you've managed to get PG twice already, and I wouldn't give up.

On the up side, statistically, (at least by the stats at the hospital I am at) you are at no hugely greater risk of another MC in your third PG than you were when you first got PG. This is why you usually don't get tested for 'reasons behind repeated MCs' until you've had three.

My consultant thinks if it happens for us a third time, that the next PG we'll be fine.

Lychees · 27/10/2010 14:15

AnnaMarie, I have gone straight to peak from lows on three occasions. The good thing is that you have peaked. The bad is that you don't have time to get some bd'ing in before the peak. Once you have used CBFM for a while [hopefully you won't have to much longer], you can kind of guess when your peak will be an strt bd'ing on the lows before it appears in case of a sneaky peak.

KC do you know how difficlut it would be to get another appointment ... would it be worth giving Andrology a ring in case to check this?

Anytime, see if you can get a print out of your DH's results so you can make sure you have them right. DH just had to talk to reception at my surgery and sign a consent form.

Hello everyone else.

AnytimeNOW · 27/10/2010 12:03

Thanks kc , very helpful.
As for your dp appointment, worth having it done, and refrain from jiggy if you can? We only left it 20 ish hours and now dp is wondering/ hoping that's why it's so bad? Wishful thinking maybe?. I'm my phone so will post again later. X
