Hi ladies, sorry I've been away for so long -just popped back to catch up on everything and say hello. Everything seems to be going ok (fingers crossed/touch wood!) and I'm now waiting for the 12 week milestone.

More than anything I wanted to say a huge thank you to all you wonderful ladies for the support you have given me - you are all lovely, lovely people and I am firm believer that good things happen to good people. xxx

Keziahhopes · 15/11/2010 21:35

KC - yes I liked that version of Pride and Prejudice ... better than the newer one for certain!! Cranford it will be for me then next ... am trying to be positive and ask for some DVD's from Santa for when I am pregnant Grin - Shorter though - no Sad And this is after over 2yrs ttc naturally, am still ttc (although with more days free of bd!)

PinkCustard · 15/11/2010 20:17

Just wanted to pop on and reassure Lychees that it is worth keeping going and one month it will just happen - a friend of mine took 2 years with DS1 and 1 year with DD, no known reason why it took so long first time, but she just kept on trying and eventually it happened for her. Also I read recently that Myleene Klass's current pregnancy took 18 months to happen, she was on the brink of starting IVF and then it happened naturally even though she didn't do anything differently.

Hope you find this helpful, I in no way mean to underestimate how hard it's been for you trying for so long, but just wanted to give you some success stories xxx

KnackeredCow · 15/11/2010 18:37

Keziah You are so right. I am quite enjoying the fact that I have 4 BD free days.

Glad I am not the only person addicted to Downton, but like you I wished they'd made the series longer and slowed it down. It did work ending on the cliff-hanger with WW1 breaking out, but it all seemed a bit too short. Apparantly there is definitely another series on it's way but I heard it will be even shorter Sad

Can't really recall anything else like it that's as good. Although the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice (with Colin Firth as Mr Darcy) was enjoyable, if I remember correctly. Although a good few years old, I am sure it's available on DVD.

Lychees I know exactly how you feel. You're right too. As far as I can see there is no such thing as "unexplained" infertility. It should be re-named "undiagnosed" infertility.

Missy Great that your bloods came back good. The PCT lottery is so unfair. Well, at least on the bright side the PCTs will have been dissolved by 2013. Maybe we'll see a few changes in the system. FX

Keziahhopes · 15/11/2010 17:56

KC - yes it is frustrating when our body and clinic dates don't work... my dh had to have 4 SA's now, so we just aim for before and after - as sperm meant to survive up to 5 days so I guess I think it is worth a shot. Well by 4th SA it was actually a good excuse to have a month off to be honest!!

KC - my weekend not the same without Downton. How frustrating they covered 2yrs in 7 episodes also - they could have slowed it down a bit!! What other programmes like that could I find on DVD?

Lychees - have you had all tests now? Ours was unexplained until we went private for a SA and they did more testing (£85) and found out dh had antibody factors.

Lychees · 15/11/2010 15:59

Sorry AF got you, Missy.

KC, what a run of bad luck. It's so tricky getting appointments at the right time when you have to make them so far in advance. I had to go all the way across town [had to take a whole day off work] to get my HSG because the days I could have it, the DR who performed it at my clinic was away on holiday.

Boba, I'm doing okay.

Like all the other 2ww since month 9-ish of trying, I'm losing hope. I mean, I keep questioning why this month would be any different from any other? To me, the diagnosis of unexplained infertility just means there's obviously something wrong, they just can't discover what it is. Surely, otherwise, I would have got a BFP in the 16 months since we gave up contraception Angry.

boba82 · 15/11/2010 15:02

KC I never got round to watching that, heard I missed a treat. Sorry to hear about your problems this month but good to see you're keeping a PMA. Totally with you on the frustrations of TTC Angry

missy sorry AF got you Sad Glad to hear you're enjoying your new job though and that your cycles are sorting themselves out!

KnackeredCow · 15/11/2010 13:59

Hello Everyone Sorry I've not been around for a few days. Things have been a bit hectic.

Welcome to the new ladies, Arabella, Michelle and Kitty.

Kitty Thank you for sharing your story with us.

Wow, aren't the stats looking good with so many BFPs? Hopefully this might be indicating the start of a trend! Grin

Congrats Storm. I can really appreciate that you are feeling anxious and I want to wish you all the best for a successful pregnancy.

Michelle I noticed your post about your concern with respect to whether you are ovulating. As you have been trying for over a year now you could pop along to your GP who will arrange for a progesterone test to be done. This should be done 7 days before your period is due.

Well my DH is off to andrology to have his SA done. Originally it was booked for Friday 12th November, but I usually get my LH surge on day 14 or 15 of my cycle and ovulate on day 15. I was due to get my LH surge last Thursday and ovulate on Friday. So we delayed DH's appointment until this Thursday as they told us we couldn't BD for 4 days prior to the test.

Everything seemed to be going fine. I got a high on day 10 when I expected it to occur.

BUT last week I was under a huge amount of stress as had final round job interview (still not hear outcome) and I think that's caused delayed ovulation. I got my LH peak yesterday and I still have ov pain so not yet ov'd! Because we delayed the SA we haven't been able to BD since Sat Sad

So basically it was a complete waste of a month to delay the SA, we should have gone with the original appointment. I'm gutted.

Oh well at least I know that I am not pg this month so maybe I can just relax and won't be in floods of tears when AF arrives. And as I know I've ov'd late at least I won't be getting my hopes up when AF turns up 4 days late.

It's all so frustrating.....

Boba I watched loads of TV this weekend, too. Although I must say I am feeling pretty distraught now that Downton Abbey has finished. Anyone else as sad as me? Blush

Keziahhopes · 15/11/2010 13:05

MissRaines - glad your AF is becoming more regular... when you have your smear I would recommend them also swobbing you for chlymdia and other STI's - NOT saying you have any but if you go down testing route they will ask for this and you will have to have basically another smear, so better to do it in one go (wish I had!!)

Birdie - we were told 12months from ttc to going for testing, which seems to be NHS protocol, although if over 35 you can go after 6mths ttc (I was 34!) - something you can do in next 3months could be: - have an up to date smear test (if not it will be first test to have!) and if your BMI is over 30 (mine was 31!) to eat healthily and reduce it because no NHS treatment if you or your partner's bmi is over 30.

I'm at the bottom again. :(

My bloods came back OK so I've booked in for a smear as I haven't had one for a while Blush and I was waiting for AF to come and go.
Another blow is that Surrey are no longer funding any new cases of free IVF treatment. So that's shit.

Good news for a few of us on here though. You go girls!!!

At least my cycle is becoming more regular since my job change. Now I'm super determined this month. Positive mental attitude and all that.

Keziah, every little bit of hope is worth holding on to. Good luck, hun.

Starlet, hope these three weeks rush by and then you can slow down and relax.

Birdie tbh I don't take much notice of EWCM so can't help but someone else'll probably know.

ilovekittyelise, I think it is possible but rare to ovulate twice in one cycle.

Welcome Michelle.

Hi to everyone else who I haven't name checked.

michelle2222 · 15/11/2010 07:51

thankyou keziahhopes for adding me, i know im new to this but have been reading all your comments and would to congratulate storm!! other news i got my peak today, i cant wait till my partner finishes work at five hehe

Ilovekittyelise · 14/11/2010 21:18

has anyone ever ovulated more than once in a cycle? obviously the monitor isnt going to pick this us up as you are no longer POAS....however, i got peaks this month on day 13 and 14 (im convinced i O-d early on the 13th); now its day 17 and i feel all crampy again like i did on day 12 before i ovulated.

Confused

Hi Michelle, I have added you to the list. Most people here find that the first month the machine seems to be "learning" more about you so it tends to give different results (my non scientific explanation) or that you may not have ovulated yet. Most months I get 3-5 highs, 2 peaks, then 2 highs before going to low - but some months (sadly been ttc#1 for too long) I have had lots of highs and nothing else. We keep ttc anyone and hope!

michelle2222 · 14/11/2010 19:39

Hi I was just wondering if I could join this thread, could do with your help really, this is my first month of using the cbfm and I'm on day 17 still had no peak but loads of highs????? I'm worried incase I'm not ovulating, me and my husband have been trying for a year now we have a little boy together he's 3 and half now, I am 27 and partner 28 if anybody could give me any advice would really appreciate it, thanks

Hello ladies, sorry have been utterly rubbish at posting - was on hols for two weeks (bliss), then back to work where I've been working 80/90 hour weeks and will do for the next 3 weeks or so. Am completely exhausted and am going to quit my job as time is ticking away and I have no time to have a normal life let alone one where I can concentrate on me and trying to get a BFP!!!

Anyway, I am on the run as working (again) but just wanted to say a huge CONGRATULATIONS to Storm!! Woo hoo! and also to notnearly Grin

Also, my thoughts go out to all you ladies that are having such a tough time right now. choccie, keziah, lychees, boba - hope you are all okay.

I'll be back in about 3 weeks when, hopefully, my life will get back to a degree of normality (and when I also (finally) have a hycosy booked in on the NHS).

Keziahhopes · 13/11/2010 17:56

Great attitude Pink

Choccie - I have just posted on your new thread on Conception.

Well, we have a very small glimmer of hope - but trying not to hope ... consultant letter now needed. So annoyed I seem to be having to jump through so many loopholes - if my dh did not have male factors making us not have children no-one would force me to have an abortion or adopt or anything... grrr...

PinkCustard · 13/11/2010 16:07

Well I prematurely got excited about my early High on day 11 as I'm now on day 15 and still waiting for my Peak Angry. It doesn't usually arrive until around day 18 but I normally have about 3 days of Highs - not 5+ days!!

Oh well, will keep on at it Wink

birdietimesthree · 13/11/2010 11:28

that's pretty much what I've heard aswell. Best of luck with treament boba

Anyone had EWCM on a 'low' day ? I'm on day 9 which was peak day last month but still low this month, but I also have ewcm. Would have thought it would record a high at least Confused ?
