Hi Everyone,

Totally getting the Envy thang!!!!!

Just found out friend s SIL, who I might add I don't even know is up duff.... OK so we ll say its not a bad thing to feel a surge of ARRRRRRRRRGH when we are told this information but at the minute I really hate all PG women and think they all look really Smug. Is this in my head...most probably!! But I still can't help it. Sad

Anyway hope your all well. Hi to any newbies Misslolita and anyone else I've missed.

Izzy sorry your feeling a bit deflated after the docs but as you've pointed out the Acupuncturist made you feel better so concentrate on that hu and hopefully it will help.

Choccie I agree....great post.

Coming to the end of AF's visit for me so will start SWIing soon. I have to admit though, for the first time in a wee while we got all frisky and got down to business yesterday and it had nothing to do with TTC. I was so impressed that we still have it in us........ Grin Trouble is by the end of next week I'll have turned into Sargent Shagalot and my DP will be exhausted cos of the gruelling excercise LOL.

Well will pst again soon xxx

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 12/10/2010 20:14

pinkcustard thanks for asking, as predicted the dr pretty much sent me straight back out the door - she said that she didn't think a short luteal phase was a problem because as long as you have a good level of progesterone that will sustain the pg (I am slightly Hmm about this); and anyway she as a GP wouldn't do the 7dpo progesterone test but would have to refer to FC, which she wouldn't do for at least 12-18 months, especially as I already have dcs and have been pg recently. Oh and finished off with lots of pitying looks and telling me how she understands the wanting to be pg after a mc, but did I know stress was bad for fertility and we shouldn't let ttc interfere with our love life >

I left feeling a bit abandoned with it all tbh, but did manage to speak to the acupuncturist I had found who says she has a lot if success regulating cycles and sorting out luteal phases and was confident she could help. So that made me feel a bit more positive about things, and I've got my first appointment on Thursday (eek!)

Anyway, enough about me, I agree with others you should get the sexy knickers out and SWI in case of a sneaky peak. Enjoy! Smile

To all those feeling Envy I really understand that. I have had 4 birth announcements on facebook over last two weeks, along with photos to my phone and email (at work so no escape) and I am trying to be all joyous and sending wildly over-enthusiastic messages back but it's bloody hard.

WantBaby · 12/10/2010 16:27

I'm definitely feeling a little Envy as a friend of mine recently told me that she's pregnant with her third and it was a complete accident. Why oh why is is so much easier for other people to conceive and why coulnd't it be me. She didn't want any more children!!

MissLolita · 12/10/2010 14:28

Thanks everyone - really helpful posts ? you are all so right. I?ve recently started to feel like I ?see? pg ladies everywhere. I know in reality that there are no more or less pg ladies than before it?s just that I am conscious of them now ? it isn?t actually a conspiracy, although it doesn?t stop me joking that I think they are swarming?!

PinkCustard I?m with you ? best pants at the ready! Wink

PinkCustard · 12/10/2010 12:57

Thanks ladies, will dig out my sexy knickers then Wink

EmmaC29 · 12/10/2010 12:55

Thanks Pink Custard, Lychees, ChoccieChip & KC feel better now!

I have been using the OV sticks for ages and get a positive result on Day 12 or Day 15 so i was planning on using these along side the CBFM as well, might be wasting sticks but too many can't hurt can they?!

Its the other '5' days that is predicts for you before/after that i'm interested in as we've been just been doing it, normally on the day before, the day its positive and the day after but not always managed to hit all 3 days, so am going to start making an extra special effort, i haven't told my DH that i'm using this monitor, he would feel under pressure, although he knows i'm going to go to the Docs in Dec if nothing and he's happy to give a SA X

The reviews on Amazon make out this monitor is amazing and people have got their BFP after just 1 cycle, but looking at all of our stats, that's doesn't seem to be the case - wish they would put mixed reviews on so its more realistic!

Looking forward to doing my first test tomoz - even though it'll still be low as way too early! Smile xxx

KnackeredCow · 12/10/2010 11:42

Too right Chocciechip! What a wonderful post. Thank you!

Smile

Lychees Sorry to hear tha tyou don't think this month is the month Sad

PinkCustard I second what Lychees has said. BD lots just in case you get a sneaky peak.

EmmaC It's OK to feel Envy. DH and I saw a psychotherapist last week and she put it in perspective well. Similarly to Chocciechip. It's displaced anger. When you have your baby, you won't fee the same way towards friends and family who have children. It is a temporary response. Smile

chocciechip · 12/10/2010 11:01

I think some of the good ladies in this thread are being far too hard on themselves about being Envy at other people's PGs. Think of it this way....

I knew someone who was single for eight years and thought she'd never find a guy for her, and every single engagement announcement or wedding was torture because she was the single one always on the outside looking in. Lonely as hell. She endured other people's pity, and she endured mean people rubbing it in as well - offering her their single unattractive friends to go with on blind dates, as if she'd be grateful for any rubbish chucked her way. She's now involved with a lovely man, but has never forgotten those days. It's the same sort of thing, isn't it, what we're all going through.

One thing to remember is that everybody else's pregnancies have utterly ZERO influence on YOUR chances of a BFP or successful PG. Their luck doesn't reduce or change your odds.

For me, the one thing I can control is how am I going to be as a person when I do get a BFP and eventually have a baby. I have a long list of 'rules' I'm writing in my head so I am going to be a sensitive person to others. I hope I don't forget these days when I have my baby in my arms.

Lychees · 12/10/2010 10:55

EmmaC, yes, it is quite normal to feel Envy.

PinkCustard, I have had three sneaky peaks [straight from low to peak] so best to get on with the lovefest Smile just in case. The CBFM will probably ask you for another set of 10 sticks if you don't get your first peak before the last of your four remaining sticks. If it catches the first peak on your last of your four sticks, it'll assume another peak and a high without you having to waste more sticks.

Hell everyone else.

PinkCustard · 12/10/2010 09:07

Hi everyone,

Don't feel bad EmmaC we all feel a bit (or a lot) Envy when it comes to other people's pregnancies/babies etc, it's human nature, it doesn't make you a bad person. We're all so desperate for it to be our turn, we just can't help it.

Well, I am on CD14 and fully expected to get my first High this morning, but I'm still on Low! DH is all geared up for the lovefest to start tonight, as I have previously got Highs from CD13 and Peaked around 18/19. Think I'll just plough on with lovefest as planned, as I know it's not unheard of for the monitor to jump from Low to Peak. We've been doing it every other day so far and had planned to crank it up to every day from now until after the last High (with the possibility of twice a day on Peaks!!) - don't want us to peak too early though and run out of steam if it's going to be a late-Ov month...

I've only got 4 sticks left - if I haven't Peaked by then will it just stop asking me for sticks or does it ask for 10 more? (Will need to order some today if it might ask for more!!).

Blimey - just when I thought things had gotten into some sort of predictable pattern my body goes and changes its mind Confused

EmmaC29 · 12/10/2010 08:31

Good luck Missyraines with this cycle! Fingers crossed and for everyone else as well!

KnackeredCow Awful isn't it when people bring up the subject you just want to change it straight away - good that your MIL has twigged on and can offer to change the subject.

MissLolita I sympathise i haven't yet had that from my family - but i'm guessing ahead that it will happen on xmas day as my step bro has just had a baby in April. So i can predict questions of 'Come on Em, when are you going to have one' I just use the excuse that we like our holidays and we'll do it soon (we go away quite a lot so people tend to buy this!) but there is only so long i can use that excuse for!!

Its just annoying and i'll be jealous of my step bro having his baby there Envy - God, i'm such a bad person for saying that Sad! x

Lychees · 11/10/2010 21:42

Welocme MissLolita.

Hello all, feeling a bit sad because I don't think we've done it this month. It's just a feeling ....

rubs hands together gleefully let's get cracking' this cycle.

MissLolita · 11/10/2010 15:58

Hello, thank you for the welcome!

EmmaC I completely understand the feeling about being grilled! I'm probably over-sensitive to it but it feels like people are constantly asking me if I'm planning to have children yet or the more blatant (and usually from my MIL) why I haven't had a baby yet! Is there a nice way of saying "mind your own business"?

KnackeredCow · 11/10/2010 13:09

EmmaC, you are now officially on the stats Grin

Thank you for your kind words about my friend who had the MC. Much appreciated. Smile

I know what you mean about "family occassions". DH and I had a family wedding a couple of weeks back. I got the hints from FIL and SIL. MIL is a bit more sensitive, and I think she may have guessed that things might not be straightforward for us. She made some good attempts at changing the subject, so at least we were spared too much interrogation.

Good luck for the doc's - but you never know. Maybe the CBFM will work its magic and you'll be cancelling that appointment... Smile

KnackeredCow so sorry to hear about your friend, your musn't feel guilty, your feelings in the beginning are only natural in situations like ours x

So bloody hard all this waiting around for AF and hoping it doesn't turn up, I've got a big family do on Xmas day and just know i'm going to get grilled on 'why haven't i had a baby yet?!' obviously don't want to go into all the details with everyone there, as the less friends/family that know the better, does that make sense? I'm booking an appointment for the doctors for 8th Dec if nothing has happened before then x

Hopefull girls we'll all be lucky by Christmast you never know - i like to think we'll all graduate very, very soon! Grin xxx

Hope everyone is ok xx

Have added you!

I find the CBFM really useful too. It helped me confirm that I was ovulating when I thought I was so I find it reduces stress for me a bit.

Ah, I think I see - so effectively my CD number changes every day? That makes quite a bit more sense! :)

I think I would be: MissLolita TTC#1, Cycle #5, CBFM cycle#1, age 31, UCL 30, CD 15

I got the monitor as I wanted to feel like I was doing something positive and constructive and it has at least given me a focus.

KnackeredCow · 11/10/2010 11:28

Welcome to MissLolita

Sorry think I x posted with you - wasn't ignoring your post. Would you like us to add your stats?

chocciechip · 11/10/2010 11:15

Misslol CD means Cycle Day, so you would currently be on CD15.

It is very possible to have a lot of highs (two bars) leading up to ovulation - that has happened to me as well. The highs are measuring your estrogen levels, so indicate your hormones heading towards ovulation, and that can be a few days. The peaks measure LH, which tells you you should (but its not a 100% definite) ovulate within the next 24hrs or so. Your hormones fluctuate all the time so you may get more highs oin one month than in another. I have even gone straight to peaks with no highs, which is very disconcerting.

My point is: don't get too hung up on what is 'normal' and what isn't (much easier said than done) - as you can see from the stats everyone has different cycles and the monitor is about helping you pinpoint your special uniqueness.

KnackeredCow · 11/10/2010 11:11

Morning Lades Hope everyone had a good weekend?

Tangotime Sorry to hear that you are leaving us for a while, but good luck with the new job. Hopefully see yolu back here in a few months time. I've taken your stats off the board below, but put them back on if you want to keep them there for now.

Chocciechip Good luck for tomorrow. Please try to not worry about the "assessment", it does sound horribly unfair, but I am sure it is nothing to worry about. But I do agree with you about the invasion of privacy angle.

Rosieposey Sorry to hear that you are feeling down. Sad

Missy FX for your next cycle. Great news about the new job. Smile
