My hubby is back today after 5 days away. Bloody typical, I get a job that means I'm home more and his company start sending him away. I plan on being a good wife and to feed him up on my home baking, have the house clean and tidy then seduce him for baby making duties. I'm only on day 5 so it may have to wait until next week.....

Misslolita I order mine online too. I too get embarrassed buying pg tests even though I'm a married 33 year old!

boba lets hope you won't have to wait the two years for IVF as you won't need it. I bet it's a relief to at least start the ball rolling. We really should as I'm 34 in Feb and don't want my age to stop us getting any free treatment.

lychees I hope you have a relaxing weekend and some time to sort your head out. It's important to take hols, even as emma says, a mini break. Maybe off load kid one to relatives or friends to make maximum use of peak times????

I bought two baking books and my plan is to do every recipe in them. I'll keep you all posted and if I'm not on here for more than a week something went very wrong!

MissLolita · 14/10/2010 22:23

Hello everyone, lovely to hear all the updates - i got hungry from hearing about home baking, jealous of a weekend of pampering and I laughed at Sergeant Shagalot! Definately cheered me up after the last couple of days Smile

Izzy - looking forward to hearing about acupuncture

Boba - fingers crossed for you

I saw the postroom guy today and I smiled and behaved normally and he did too - Emma you could well be right and he didn't know what he was looking at - the Cleablue logo was definately on show but he isn't married and doesn't have kids so he may have assumed it was some sort of pg test which I am sort of more relaxed about (not really sure why though...) Ses I am following your advice and ordering from Boots.com and getting it delivered to a store in future - it may cost a bit more but it will save me the stress!

Having been shamed by Missyraines I'm off to crochet some Christmas decorations! Night all :)

essenceofSES · 14/10/2010 21:16

Hello! Wow I'm posting twice in 2 days!

EmmaC - sorry if I confused things with stats Blush I never seem to get chance to update mine in the mornings, hence the evening update yesterday. I think they're right now with MissyRaines update today!
Your wkend plans sound great btw, I'm a bit Envy !!

Boba - sorry for your HSG results but hope the Clomid will help :)

Lolita - welcome to the thread! I really sympathise with your predicament over Amazon delivery. I have a similar issue as I work for Boots and get staff discount. I have a field based role across East and West Sussex and there's not many stores that don't know me! I always try and go to a member of staff that I don't recognise :) I really should order from Boots.com to prevent the problem!

Lychees - ((((hugs)))) When ttc with DS, I got fed up with that feeling of everything being on hold. Just simple things like not buying new clothes as I planned to be too big for them after a few months. In the end I bought myself 2 new expensive suits for work and 2 months later I was pg!

MissyRaines - that sounds like a very productive morning!!

Storm - LOL at Sergeant Shagalot Grin

EmmaC29 · 14/10/2010 20:56

Hi Lychees sympathise with you, luckily no one in my office is planning a pregnancy soon, not that, that doesn't mean one might fall accidently pregnant like you do! Keep smiling, we will all have our turns soon Smile xx

I think a holiday would do you the world of good, even if you just have a mini break somewhere in the UK. We've just been to a lovely B & B in Worcester, they welcome children and pets Smile let me know if you want the number xxx

Hi Boba sorry to hear about your blockage x Fingers crossed over the next few months for you xx

Keep Smile girls xxxx

boba82 · 14/10/2010 15:32

P.S. Lychees we were putting everything on hold too but eventually decided to have holiday & did us the world of good. I think you have to go on with life as best you can. It's hard enough having no sucess TTC without everything else in your life suffering. x

OP posts:

Hi everyone

Not posted in an age so anyone I've missed sorry it's not that I'm not interested etc just soooo much to catch up on!

Lolita welcome & I really feel for your Blush at work!

Missy sorry AF got you, good luck this cycle. P.S. can I come live with you please, I LOVE home baking!!!

choccie re your Envy post, that was v v good advice & I will try and use it as 2 of my BF in RL are pregnant ATM.

Izzy sorry you felt bad after seeing GP, hopefully your acupuncturist'll sort you out.

essence sorry for AF

lychees I'm ok thanks, how's you? I'm a bit down as HSG revealed blockage in my right tube which they can do nothing about as it's scar tissue from an operation I had as a child. Wasn't expecting there to be any problems so it came as a bit of a blow. On plus side they've given me Clomid to start next week after I've had a bleed from progesterone tablets. I will be monitored on this for 3 months then have apptmt in Jan.

He suggested I go on list for IVF as it's 2 years long and I qualify now I have blockage. Hopefully it won't come to that. I'm really starting to feel someone out there really doesn't want me to have a baby. It just seems to be one thing after another. .

Hope everything's ok with you? x x

Lychees · 14/10/2010 14:10

Emma, we're just one person down in our department so I've got a really heavy workload. It also doesn't help that there are three pg women at work [quite a lot for a small-ish company] and also that I envisaged myself being on maternity leave or looking forward to maternity leave right now.

I feel like I've put so much on hold ttc. No holidays, no changing jobs since I got qualified in March even though I could probably get more money [and do more interesting work] somewhere else, cancelled my gym membership ......

Sounds like you have a nice weekend planned.

Missyraines, all that cooking sound lovely. I haven't had lunch yet because I had a huge chocolate brownie for elevenses .... oops.

Onion marmalade, cupcakes and biscuits tomorrow. All I need now is some victims to try them on.......

EmmaC29 · 14/10/2010 12:27

aww Lychees you not enjoying your job or feeling stressed with TTC? Only 1 more day to go Smile xx

Having my hair, nails and eyebrows done on Saturday and then Sat night me and DH are going for a Thai meal with my Dad and Step-Mum should be nice x

My friend had her first scan today - must admit i actually felt excited for her, which is nice, went through a few days of feeling very Envy of the whole situation!x

Lychees · 14/10/2010 09:47

Emma, I so don't want to be at work lately. So really looking forward to the weekend although I have nothing planned.

Anyone doing anything nice?

P.S. Boba, how are you doing, hun?

EmmaC29 · 14/10/2010 08:17

Hi essenceofSES my CD is day 7 today not sure if that matters for the stats xx

Hi All everyone looking forward to the weekend?!

MissLolita he might not even know what they are?!! Men can be a bit silly sometimes can't they?! Smile.

XXXXX

Lychees · 13/10/2010 22:57

MissLolita, how awkward but I'm sure he'll forget about it before you do. Not sure about the lines on the test sticks.

Hi everyone else. I too have been a bit snowed under to have posted much lately. Also, I am heading to the end of a 30 days cycle with not much to report so I expect we'll be going onto the next cycle.

MissLolita · 13/10/2010 21:25

Thanks KC, I'm not sure which way round the lines are...as in which one is closest to the end! I only really registered they were there this morning. Stupidly I didn't consider which way round it was! Oh well, I'll have to check tomorrow morning [smile}

I feel quite a bit better this evening (a large glass of red helped) and I'm going to follow the advice of ignoring it. My dh reminded me that he probably wasn't actually that interested and that being a postroom guy he may well see far more interesting things than my CBFM test sticks Grin

As you can see, AF arrived so I'm on CD2.

Hope you're all well and wishing you all lots of positive vibes for those BFPs :)

EmmaC29 · 13/10/2010 19:57

Hi Lolita you poor thing, i feel for you Blush just not something you want everyone to know about, I'm sure he won't say anything, but like the other girls say I just wouldn't say anything x

I did my first test today and its now reading day 6 and High - I'm assuming this is because its my first time on the monitor and it can give more high days than usual etc on your first go?

As even if my peak was detected on day 12 this is still 6/7 days away or am i being thick?! Confused i'm just going to crack on with it anyway Wink xxx

KnackeredCow · 13/10/2010 18:31

I believe the lines are as follow:

The one furthest away from the end you pee on is the oestrogen line. It uses a competitive assay. Therefore, the more oestrogen in your urine, the paler the colour. It starts off dark blue when you have low levels of oestrogen and then fades. When the monitor reads that it is significantly paler than at baseline the monitor displays high fertility.

I've noticed I get high about 1 to 2 days before the colour completely fades out (oestrogen peak). The colour then begins to fade back in as oestrogen levels decrease after the peak.

The line nearest to the end you pee on is leutinising hormone. This becomes darker as levels rise in your urine. When it becomes significantly blue the monitor is triggered to read peak.

My cycle starts with a dark oestrogen line, which fades out completely at day 13 (oestrogen peak) and then begins to fade back in as levels fall. At day 15 (today for me) the LH line turned dark (showing LH peak) but the oestrogen line had also re-appeared confirming a drop in oestrogen - to be expected as the oestrogen peak occurs before and triggers the LH peak.

Hope that helps Smile

ljg72 · 13/10/2010 16:48

Hi Lolita what a mare!!! I agree with KCOW ignore the TrollSmile.

As for the test lines?, not sure which one is for what hormone surge...but I usually start off with a darker one on the left...(in the position it is put into monitor)gradually getting lighter and the right one getting darker until peak days when both lines are the same colour...

Im sure somebody else will be along soon who knows better.

MissLolita · 13/10/2010 16:15

KC You are right ? Saying nothing is the best thing to do. I?ve calmed down slightly at last ? It was just the horrible stomach churning/sick feeling of the moment that got me panicked.

I bought the spare sticks online as I was buying some cheap pg tests and my rationale then was to buy them in the hope I don?t need them ? weird logic I know?

I was actually going to ask a question about the lines on the test window (before this happened) ? does anyone know what the difference between the 2 lines is and what they mean? I haven?t found anything online (all search results come up relating to pg tests not cbfm)

10 days at 2 bars?

KnackeredCow · 13/10/2010 15:11

MissLolita I am cringing for you. How awful. I can't even go to Boots to buy pg tests - have to order them on line! Too worried I might be seen by someone I know who would spread rumours.

However, that said I would ignore the postroom guy. A bit like a troll, he probably thrives on the attention, so it's probably best not to feed him.

As you are quite senior, and your boss more senior than you, I suspect the likelihood of your boss finding out as being negligable. But I fully appreciate and understand why you are worried.

MissLolita · 13/10/2010 14:38

Something awful has just happened at work. I ordered a new box of CBFM test sticks from Amazon and because I work full time and the package wouldn?t fit through my letter box I got them sent to my work address. I get things sent to work quite frequently (as do lots of other people) so there is no big deal about this.

Unfortunately the box had come open in transit and the contents of the box were visible when it arrived. One of our postroom guys came bouncing up to my desk and said quite loudly (in front of my boss who was stood by my desk at the time) ?Your Amazon package has arrived open, but don?t worry we have a confidentiality clause!?

Out of all the people who could have sent his he is by far the worst as he is a huge gossip. When he gave it to me I just said, ?oh thanks for taking the time to deliver it to me personally? (packages are normally left in a central place for people to pick them up) and smiled but I went bright red and I am still absolutely cringing inside. I have quite a senior position and I?ve been negotiating a promotion in the last week so this is both embarrassing and possibly damaging. I know firms aren?t allowed to discriminate on these grounds but I now worry people will be gossiping about me and it will get around. I?m not sure whether to say something to him and risk fanning the flames or just ignore it. I am still bright red an hour later! Blush

EmmaC29 · 13/10/2010 13:00

PinkCustard interesting that post about MACA have just googled it and it sounds fab - worth a try isn't it?! xx

Have just been looking on the NHS website about how to get pregnant - make it look soo easy 'just do it on the 7 days leading up to ovulation'! if only it was that easy! Pfft! x

Hello,

Izzy sorry that your doc was a bit crap, although when I saw my doc and she said 'Right, let's get things started then you're no spring chicken' (Not her exact words admittedly) I felt a bit unprepared as had really expected her to say just go away and keep trying, no need to worry yet. So in a strange sort of way perhaps it's a bit reasurring that she doesn't think you need to worry yet..? (Or she might just be crap). Acupuncture sounds hopeful though - have considered that myself but been put off by the cost for the time being.

Am feeling a bit reasurred by the fact that it took Myleene Klass 18 months to get preg recently, and then it just happened without any medical intervention, which has reminded me that sometimes it just takes a while for no reason and it will just happen one month (hopefully soon).

Am pleased to report I got my first High today, so will continue with the lovefest which kicked off last night. Am assuming the monitor is perhaps a bit more accurate now that it's had several (!) months to get used to me.

One other thing I've been looking into is Maca. I'd never heard of it til yesterday but there was a MN-er who had been TTC for 5 years and then got preg 2 months after using it. Obviously could be a giant coincidence but I'm a sucker for herbal miracle tablets and frankly will give anything a go if it's safe. Has anyone had any experience of it?

Well done Storm for non-babymaking rumpage You go girl!

EmmaC29 · 13/10/2010 08:43

Stormbird your commment about PG women looking really smug'! Really made me laugh! I saw a lady in the card shop the other day - literally about to pop and felt very Envy. She was on the phone and then preceeded to say 'i'm trying to hold on because we want to go to Sarah's party' or something along those lines and i thought hope you don't get to go!! Grin - serves you right! ha, ha! Awful that i know! xx

Chin up Izzy fingers crossed for your acupunture xx

IzzyWizzy i had a birth announcement on facebook as well yday someone's GF who i don't even know - managed to put a nice 'That's great news' message on there! Grrrr!xx
