The 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended)

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Resist the lure of ovulation predictor kits, Taking Control of Your Fertility and the dreaded First Repsonse. Knowing where you are in your cycle is entirely permissible though!

Going to the doctor is permitted if you've had a stupidly long cycle but beware of the dildo-cam-scan.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

***

Although all most of these rules are well and truely broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Ha ha, you might all be impressed now, but just you wait until next week, then the usual obsessive me will be back, just you wait and see Grin

I am supposed to be avoiding chocolate at the minute but yesterday I had half a choccy muffin, a twix, then some Thorntons choccies when I got home, then had 2 bags of crisps Hmm It's not going well Grin

I have a cold though so I have a good excuse for feeding my face. Is it feed a cold, starve a fever, or feed a fever and starve a cold? Hmm

nickelbabe · 06/10/2010 11:37

aah, Grin

I don't like AF either, but ERTD is just naaaasty Grin

NervousNelly · 06/10/2010 11:18

Evil red tide of doom. I have a real issue with the AF acronym, so stole this from someone else.

nickelbabe · 06/10/2010 11:04

what does ertd mean?
i can work out he rest, but that one's got me flummoxed.
Confused

NervousNelly · 06/10/2010 10:33

Well turns out death by machine gun WAS more fun than shooting me with his swimmers Hmm. I haven't told him full details of my cycles (trying to retain some romance Wink), so he didn't know it, but last night my body was screaming OVULATING what with the textbook definition slippy stringy egg White pant snot, and the lower abdominal mizzer-whatsit. Denied :( we did JS on Saturday morning and Sunday night though, so guess I'm on the 2ww with the rest of you :)

Look how calm I am......:)

baby2b · 06/10/2010 10:10

I am feeling much better today, so no idea what the cramps were about Hmm.

Going to take a leaf out of Josie's book and try and stay calm over the next 2weeks. Very impressed :)

My only up-date is my health kick went wrong today as I found myself eating a massive pain au chocolate and huge cup of tea for breakfast (wtf, I just got distracted and wrote pregnant rather than breakfast?!)

Hope everyone is having an easy day?

Does anyone have any games or list ideas for today? I'm a wee bit bored at work! :(

takethatlady · 06/10/2010 09:21

PS - josie, I am standing back in awe at your 2ww work :) This is calmness and sanity at a level we have not seen for ages on this thread Grin

Good luck for Sunday if you go for it!

takethatlady · 06/10/2010 09:19

Hey escape welcome to the madness fun and games. PMSL nervous, that's funny. You're obviously killing him with your gorgeousness Grin. Yep, Spooks is on on Mondays at 9...

nomorechoc those chips sound amazing. I've never had them and even I am craving them now. Good luck with the end of your 2ww. Can't believe you're on your second 2ww since the mc in August - I'm still clowning around on the same old bloody cycle. Day 50 over here. Encouragingly though, after some (slightly strange) pant snot the last few days my temp went up to 97.58 this morning. My temps have been between 96.5 and 97.18 for the last 50 goddamn days so hopefully this means I have finally bloody well ovulated. Especially as I have been shagging like a beast this last few days. Seriously, I can't take any more Blush

baby2b hope that tummyache is a good sign Wink. Also HTK let us know about your sneaky test results. loving that you did this. I would totally be doing my bloods all the time if I could.

escape I eat veg and I get a lot of pant snot when ovulation actually happens Grin. No idea if they're correlated though! Whatever works, I say!

JosieSmith1 · 06/10/2010 09:06

Hee hee, sorry my weekend made you Envy Nervous Grin. And how dare your job get in the way of MNing, so selfish Grin Yes I?m technically on my 2ww but pretending I?m not so I don?t think about it as much Grin Still pretending it?s fertile time and JSing like rabbits (when we?ve got the energy) in the hope of tricking myself and before I know it it?ll be testing time Grin PMSL at your DH shouting at you to get out of the way when parading naked! My DH would be exactly the same GrinGrin All of my usual ?tricks? become annoying when he?s watching his program or playing his game.

Hi Escape, no interesting comments on the veg and pant snot I?m afraid! I?m no help I know Grin

Not quite related to PMT NoMore but when I was on the pill if I missed a period the next one would be more painful, makes sense that PMT would build up too and be worse if you haven?t had it for a while Confused

Nothing to report here. Yes it?s 2ww but not feeling anything again so not getting hopes up just yet but trying to forget about it if that?s possible Hmm. Got cross country comp with horsey on sunday but not 100% about doing it now just with the weather, and it?ll cost me £50 I don?t have.

Hope everyone is ok anyway, sorry if I?ve missed anyone. Hugs to all that need them on this wet and miserable morning x

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 06/10/2010 08:43

Nervous am due on Sat, although wouldn't be surprised if it arrives early due to early ov (thus meaning still have short luteal phase).
PSML at you hubby yelling at you cause he's dying btw Grin

Have woken up with a raging desire to eat a lot of M&S's rosemary, garlic and salt chips. WTF is it with me and ships this week? I like the damn things, but never crave them like this! Am resolving to be like Escape and eat more fruit and veg instead. I can do it, I can!

NervousNelly · 05/10/2010 22:45

escape thinks we rock :). Welcome to you, you sound like you are in the right place, albeit with a small delay in the actual JSing!

nomore boo to the no-up-duffed-ness Confused if that's what it is. When are you actually due, if you know?

baby2b that's rubbish for you too, my body played silly buggers with me last month too, spotting started a week before AF was due, which led to me thinking it was implantation. Instead it was just an early period. Angry

More confessions updates from me Blush. Just ordered a thermometer and a bunch of cheapie tests from t'internet; as well as a pack of (bargain) clearblue digital HPTs in case the cheapies say yes. Or maybe even if they say no Hmm. However if last month is anything to go by, ERTD will arrive early again and I won't get a chance to use them :(. I was a bit shocked to see you can by the Clearblue from Amazon "New or Used". Pre-peed HPT anyone? . I think (assuming I don't get PG this month) I will chart mucus and temps, but no peeing on sticks.

No luck with swimmers injection yet. OH is playing Call of Duty on the x-box; don't fancy my chances much! If I parade around naked in front of him, he'll just shout at me to move cos he's dying Hmm.

baby2b · 05/10/2010 21:04

Sore tummy like AF is on its way, but it is a week earlier than my normal 28 days and I was expecting AF to be late because of late ovulation? Confused

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 05/10/2010 19:28

PS Hello Escape! Can't answer you raw veg, pant snot question, but it is the kick up the arse I need to stop procrastinating about getting healthier again. Grin

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 05/10/2010 19:26

My poor DH. Yesterday I told him I had encouraging upduff symptoms, then today I tell him I seem to have full blown GRRR PMT, meaning not upduff. His face just fell.

Still feel a bit sick, but think that's ovaltine related.

Also think that my PMT is really bad because I haven't had it for the last 2 months and my body is in a bit of shock. Does that make sense? So anyway shall be picking up tampons rather than pee sticks in the shop tomorrow. And possibly heart attack inducing sized bar of chocolate and bag of chips if I keep on feeling like this (and there'll be no sharing gRRRR..) (which of course is daft because I'll never lose weight eating like that!).

I honestly don't mind what happens this month, just as long as my body gets itself back to normal! (I haven't even started on the persistant pain in my side)

Nervous apparently you're not alone in the big long spiel thing! Good luck with the swimmers injection Wink

I was just going to lurk and play it cool this week, but instead my body has gone loopy and I need to moan. Oh for a normal 2WW! I'll be okay after a good night sleep honest! (and maybe that junk food)

escapeartist · 05/10/2010 18:35

You guys are awesome!!! What a great TTC thread, minus all the craziness and obsession (though it can be hard to avoid... I know)

I am 29 (and in some sort of denial about turning 3o very soon) and married for a couple of years. We started ttc last Jan, yet had a tough time of it, as my dad was v ill in hospital for most of it. He eventually passed away last March. All that grief and stress etc took its toll on our efforts (to say the least) so we restarted our efforts a couple of months ago.

Bought some OPK's then realised I really can't be ar sed to use them... so just trying to JS as often as we can. Saying that DH is away for a couple of months... so obviously not getting pregnant in the meantime (that would be difficult to explain)

Quick q: changed my diet and have been eating a lot more raw veggies and fruit last month and noticed a LOT more hmmm pant snot. Is that possible, or is it something completely unrelated?

Anyway... this thread rocks. I reckon shagging lots is the best way forward when ttc. :)

NervousNelly · 05/10/2010 17:50

Hello viroids. You have been busy as usual. Sadly for me, work gets in the way of spending all day on MN. Stupid jobs, pah :(

Firstly, yes Tuesdays are worse than Mondays. Mondays are where you catch up on the weekend gossip, you know the sort of thing - who shagged who at the weekend, who threw up cos they drank so much, who dumped their boyfriend etc (oh no wait that was 15 years ago Shock). These days it's more like "well I did the weeding" or something equally rock and roll! Tuesdays are just rubbish days, by Wednesday it's hump day, and it's all downhill to the weekend after that :)

HTK I don't know what 34 means, but assuming you aren't calling out bingo numbers, I'm guessing it's good? Will you be joining me, eskarina and brassica on the 2WW then? Miffles you won't be needing those kippers thanks very much, we will be the epitome of viruous patience.

Josie you weekend sounds fab, unlike TT I also enjoy the horseriding so in my eyes you had a weekend that makes me do this Envy. So are you on 2WW aswell?

takethat - new Spooks? No godamnit, why didn't I know . Though I did stumble on new Series of House last night, now all I need is Glee to start again Blush.

nickelbabe what does that mean - is it rude? Shock Grin

Right here is where I fess up to something. Last night I stumbled upon a thread that is the total opposite of the JS one, and it really really depressed me. I stupidly sat and read through 29 pages of it, it's a support thread for people who have been trying for a v v long time, and are having a torrid time. The ladies on it seem lovely and it's a great support network by the sound of it, but basically now have worried myself sick. I am 36, and if I have to once more read the phrase "your fertility falls off a cliff once you turn 35" I am going to get very, VERY violent Angry. Please help me to return to sanity. We've only been trying for 2 months, and I've decided that in fact neither of those count, as last month my cycle was shorter than expected so don't think we did any JS at the right time (work was stupid busy right up until going on holiday). I was on the pill for a long time, but both before and after had very regular cycles and (now that I know what they are) obvious pains when I'm ovulating. Normally I can tell you what side and exactly when. In fact I'm fairly sure it's happening today! So there is no reason to panic, "just" because I'm 36, right?

On the other hand, I'm wondering if I should (rule breaking alert) be a bit more pro-active simply due to my age. For instance, charting or using OPKs. I know of course it's far to early to "worry" but I think some knowledge might not be a bad thing? I promise (for Miffles especially!) that I'm not going to go down the obsessive route, but I'm already regretting that we dithered so long in making the decision to start trying. I'd hate to think that stubborn-ness now got in the way, so if a few well timed POAS or something would make the difference, it's worth a shot right?

Are you going to kick me off the thread now Blush. Hope not as I like it here!

Off to do some chores (joy) and then have a shower so when OH comes home I will be all fresh and lovely smelling for another injection of well-timed swimmers Wink.

Sorry for the long "me" post. As you were.

nickelbabe · 05/10/2010 16:20

my Tuesdays are okay.
Mondays are bad, because no one comes in to spend money.

tuesdays, i think people are over that Monday feeling and they appear.

I'm reading to the Beaver Scouts tonight.

takethatlady · 05/10/2010 14:08

I am SO with you on Tuesdays. At least there's a bit of novelty on Monday. On Tuesday it's more of the same and there's so much more to come ...

Perhaps we should try to make Tuesdays shag days. At least they won't seem so bad then :)

JosieSmith1 · 05/10/2010 13:59

I'm the same actually NoMore! Been really angry a lot, but don't know why, not due PMT till next wek at earliest, don't understand it (neither does poor DH Grin)

I will hit you with a kipper if you will hit me with a kipper Grin

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 05/10/2010 13:55

Why do people always go on about Monday being so rubbish? It's Tuesday that's the real evil day. And if this isn't PMT then my brain needs to be bitch slapped with a kipper asap.

JosieSmith1 · 05/10/2010 10:41

PMSL Miffles! Ladyboys of Bangkok are exactly what you're picturing! Grin It's a big cabaret show inside a huge tent with a bar so everyone is up dancing and it was just fab. Me and best mate bought white fluffy cowboy hats too, as souvenirs of course Wink

Tooth has behaved impecably TakeThatLady, the bottom tooth seems to be through the hole that was infected so there's nowhere to get infected now so hopefully that'll be the last of it! Smile PMSL at not knowing who the father is Grin

Miffles · 05/10/2010 09:59

Not seen Spooks, but heard that Apprentice starts tomorrow night.....yay! Grin

Miffles · 05/10/2010 09:55

Welcome back to normality Josie - I so had a mental note this morning to ask how your weekend was and if your tooth behaved itself. Now annoyed that I forgot!!
Anyway, really glad all went so well - sounds like you had an excellent time. Probably just what you needed as a break from TTC and the yukkiness of your tooth.

Am a bit puzzled by "Ladyboys of Bangkok". In fact, feel a bit squeamish thinking about it....not sure I want you to elaborate! Confused

takethatlady · 05/10/2010 09:46

Josie that is just too much fun in weekend - JSing, eating, drinking, horse-riding (well, for me, not that last bit, but you obviously love it!) Sounds like your tooth is feeling a lot better, too? I hope so :)

brassica so happy for your Smile Smile :) on the OPKs. I'm adding my bunting in with all the others for your eggs being at the party (PMSL at that - can't remember who said it ;)). Hopefully it's a full-on egg sarnie down there and you'll be preggers in no time.

On your student, I reckon just pretend to shag pretty loudly in the living room, or look a bit guilty and flustered when he comes in. Then he'll stay in his room as much as possible ;)

miffles yep, been to the docs, gotta wait to have a period and then I can do blood tests on days 3-5, 21 and every 7 days thereafter until I ovulate/have a period. I am such an impatient person so this is driving me absolutely nuts. Multiple knicker inspections, peed on a couple of sticks yesterday just in case, all the usual ...

I know I'm a complete telly addict but has anyone been watching Spooks? The main guy in that is so feckin' hot. What with him, Mark Owen and DH I'm never going to know who the father is Grin

JosieSmith1 · 05/10/2010 09:34

PMSL at the googling! Shall we poll how many people do and don?t get BFPs after googling it? Grin

NoMoreChoc my best mate has an anxiety disorder and it?s like two steps forward, one step back and I wish I could do more to help but it?s such a complex thing isn?t it! Love the Gary Linekar ad by the way Grin PMSL at sex-pesting DH Grin

Aw Miffles how nice of SiL to be sensitive to your feelings and PSML at hewhoshallnotbenamed! Grin

Loving the Jsing on the floor B2B, have to admit we do that sometimes if it?s too early to go to bed Blush. And sometimes dog comes in and I have to ut her out, she has such expressions and she watches us, it?s really not good! Grin

Oooo Brassica exciting about new puppy! My old doggy is getting ill again and I don?t know what I?m going to do so bit Confused at the moment! Shock at labrador putting head on leg whie JSing! Grin

Hi Nicki and Hallie [waves]

Congrats Kitten! Didn?t even get a chance to say hi before you?re off again Grin

Nervous I can relate to being a bit nonchalant towards JSing while on pill, but now a bit more exciting, I just don?t mention that bit to DH as it might put him off!

PMSL at TakeThat?s pant snot at Mark Owen Grin

Hope it?s good news HardertoKidnap!

Well not much to report here except had a fab weekend of eating, entertaining and relaxing for Mam?s birthday. Italian followed by Ladyboys of Bangkok sat night (though slight dampener was put on it by another member of group recently becoming pg and very happy about it), pub lunch with whole family on Sunday, then spa morning, lunch at pub and finally persuaded Mam to get on horsey yesterday. So not wanting to be back at work today but it means I get to talk to all you lovely ladies as home internet is broken and phone won?t load MN.

Have been wearing the shag cape all weekend too Wink but will be very disappointed if all my hard efforts (or should that be DH?s hard efforts Blush don?t pay off)

Hope everyone is good today
