The 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended)

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Resist the lure of ovulation predictor kits, Taking Control of Your Fertility and the dreaded First Repsonse. Knowing where you are in your cycle is entirely permissible though!

Going to the doctor is permitted if you've had a stupidly long cycle but beware of the dildo-cam-scan.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Although all most of these rules are well and truely broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Fingers crossed b2b. Problems sorted themselves with the BFP so no need for docs to get fingers out do anything Hmm

baby2b · 11/10/2010 19:13

Hey ladies, sorry not been on for a while. Need to read everyones posts and catch up properly...it looks like we have two bfps?! Grin

Have you both managed to see docs yet? Looks like you were having problems brassica

My AF is due according to my normal cycle, but should be coming late...so holding out and not testing.

Sorry I don't have any answers for you Miffles but I'm sure it will be fine. Fingers crossed for you :)

Hope everyone else is good?

BrassicaBabe · 11/10/2010 19:11

Yeah miffles. Don't just take the prescription and leave gratefully. Ask how they will monitor you, how they will know it's the right dose, how you can get back in touch, what the time scale is for moving on to a different course of action, what that next course of action is, can ivf be done on NHS,

Brain dump complete Grin

OP posts:
BrassicaBabe · 11/10/2010 19:08

Miffles clomid was dished out on the first appointment! I'd already had a day21 test down by my GP and the result was low. It's cheap apparently Hmm so they don't have many qualms in handing it over. It's considered the first line of attack for female ttc problems. (Shh, I could always post you my left overs WinkGrin) I would bet you leave with Clomid and maybe an appointment to check out your tubes via x-ray.

I'm glad you live somewhere with choice vallinna. I know it's a PITA, but to be stuck with a crap service would be worse.

PMSL for takethat trying to make the lesson more exciting for her students! Grin

Lots of folks on the 2ww then. It's going to get really interesting around here soon! Grin Let the madness being!

OP posts:
Miffles · 11/10/2010 19:00

ooo...and any questions I should ask him or things I must make sure he tells me. Thanks. Wink

Miffles · 11/10/2010 18:58

Sorry - DH insisted on using the computer. Now that he has left I'm free to catch up at my leisure!

I hope you're ok Josie - make sure you have lots of hot baths to ease the ache in the shoulders.

Vallinna - did you get recommended to this clinic? If you go down the IVF route, you really want to feel confident about your clinic. I've seen things that say you should get clinics success rates and things. Now, if you were to decide to have IVF, would a new clinic need to do all sorts of tests that the others have done, that you'd need to pay for again? Or can you take your notes with you? I know you don't really want to move again, but IVF is another whole ball game, isn't it?

Encouragement please and advice on what will happen tomorrow!! The GP sent off my ultrasound scan (showing PCOS), I had progesterone levels done but it wasn't on CD21, as I never make it that far. The number submitted was zero!!! Also DH SA results (which we haven't seen yet [worried emoticon]. Do you think the consultant will want to do more tests or do you think he'll hand over the drugs?! BB and Vallinna - what happened before you got clomid? Not sure how well I'm going to sleep tonight....have waited since May for this appt!

Miffles · 11/10/2010 18:41

Poor takethat - arse hanging out is never a good look! Esp in front of uni students. Grin

Sounds like BB and NMCB are holding onto your BFPs...keep those legs closed! Hope you both manage to speak to people soon.

I have my appt tomorrow - apprehensive that it will be rubbish. But must keep positive.

BRB....

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 11/10/2010 17:38

Ahh TTL Grin That is why my lovely new dress top is firmly over a pair of jeans. My arse would be the first to hang out if I dared to try wearing tights under it (might try it for DH though Wink).

takethatlady · 11/10/2010 17:12

Josie, Nervous and I are 6DPO so there's a little troupe of us now. We can all hug in the MN bushes if we don't get BFPs Grin. Love that image by the way. Sounds like some sort of hippy-ish experiment gone wrong, three ladies crying in a bush!

Arse biscuits is definitely the phrase of the day Grin. Glad you can provide us with choice language despite all the crappy doctors vallinna. Same to you brassica - why oh why didn't I get your post before I bored the tits off my students going on about poetry and criticism, when I should have been talking about zebras being abducted by aliens. To be honest, that would have made more sense than what I said. The first group said 'I understand it much better now' which made me feel good, until I walked all the way from the seminar to the next class, still talking to the students, with my dress pulled up over my arse, and my bum (in tights) hanging out. This may have affected my performance as the second class, no word of a lie, said they thought they understood it when they came in but I had made it seem so much harder Biscuit. Arse biscuits indeed!

brassica I really hope the bleeding stops - sounds like it is petering out. Bet it's just a random Clomid side effect and I'm sure it'll make no difference. Still so excited for you Grin

Laters ladies, gotta go and make a prat of myself once more before I can go home ...

JosieSmith1 · 11/10/2010 16:50

Also Grin at Valinna's arse biscuit!

NoMore I think half of the field would have been laughing at us too but apparently 5 or 6 people all fell off at the same time so a fair few of us were feeling sorry for ourselves Grin

I am smack bang in middle of 2ww but don't feel anything so not getting excited, sorry to disappoint, I know I'm great at crazy symptom spotting but the novelty wore off after the first Hmm 2 cycles Grin Hope your PS is a good sign!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 11/10/2010 16:41

Grin at Vallinna's arse biscuit.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 11/10/2010 16:37

Giggling at you and your horsey friends covered in mud having a sob in the bushes Josie!

Brassica Why are medical proffessional types so ruddy useless sometimes? Does you GP not have an open surgery? How annoying. If it weren't for the urgent clinic I'd be waiting a week or two too (which may well be to long).

Am slightly regreting not doing the Dr thing today as I seem to have a huge amount of pant snot today (sorry about TMI) so keep having to run to the loo to check that's all it is that I can feel down there. Of course I do know that excessive PS is an early pg symptom, but it's one I could to without to be quite honest!

Is there no one going 2WW mental or due to test or something? I need distraction.

vallinnapod · 11/10/2010 16:33

Josie hugs for the shock and pain. I haven't fallen off in years but still wince at the thought!

Brassica I know it doesn't help but I know how you feel about the helplessness of it all. More annoying that this has happened previously so you would like to think that they would be monitoring you a bit closer. Is the EPU close to you? I was just thinking if you rock up then maybe they would see you? I know they want a referral but I can't see them turning you away? Possibly a bit late for that.

So not looking forward to Wednesday. At risk of sounding like a spoilt brat, if I don't get what I want (some sort of bloody progress with a high % chance of pregnancy!) then I think I may just sit in their office sobbing until they do something. Brassica I am London based so yes, huge choice of clinics but this one is perfect for work(obviously only in location terms!) when you have to have a million and one dildo cams. Plus with my experience at the last one I have no faith in them. We shall see. One more chance. If I do move I want to find a solely private one. These seem to all be Harley St way which is not so convenient for work. Arse biscuits!

JosieSmith1 · 11/10/2010 15:03

Actualyy it's not very sore. Landed on my lower back (and got a mud stain on my cream jods Biscuit) but luckily had my body protector on so that cushioned me, could have been a lot worse. My shoulders are more sore this morning as she was leaning on me all the way round.

It was a funny old day yesterday as when I got back from my round another girl had been eliminated and was upset, then another girl who has been off since xmas with a really bad back who isn't allowed to lift anything let alone ride, had got on a friends horse, and came off aswell, so they were both crying when i got back and with the shock of it I started crying too so we all sat in the bushes and had a little group hug Grin we must've looked ridiculous!

BrassicaBabe · 11/10/2010 14:27

It's not likely to be before tomorrow now. Hmm

Hope the bum isn't too sore from the horse fall Grin

OP posts:
JosieSmith1 · 11/10/2010 14:20

I'm here Brassica and I think that's ridiculous! You can never get hold of them when you really need some answers!

Hope he/she gets back in touch soon!

BrassicaBabe · 11/10/2010 14:00

Bloody hell! What a waste of time! I e-mailed (Hmm clearly a mistake!) my consultant over the weekend. We?d spoken the last week so he new about the bleeding and stuff. I explained I had now tested positive but that I was worried about the on-going bleeding and the fact that I had taken 4x100mg (I work in IT, I?m always typing mb for megabytes Grin instead of mg. Not the same thing at all!) of Clomid whilst pregnant. I left my mobile number and asked that he call me. I waited until lunch time when he has returned my calls (between patients) before. Nothing. I called his secretary. No fecking answer. So I took harder?s advice and called the EPU. They only take referrals from the GP. There are no appointments at the GP! Dear God!

Where is everyone today?! I get a day to skiv post and everyone heads for the hills Grin

OP posts:
JosieSmith1 · 11/10/2010 11:53

Hope you get some answers soon Brassica. Tooth has been fine for a while now thanks but was off work sick on thu and fri last week with a bad cold, then fell off horsey yesterday! Was a hell of a week last week! And I'm annoyed that still got no pg symptoms Angry so probs no BFP for me this cycle either. Now that you mention 'I can't count Dr speak', I have been wondering about that, because if they work it out from the day of your last period the timing will be all off as obviously you don't ov at that time so can't have got pg then?! It's very Confused to me!

BrassicaBabe · 11/10/2010 10:59

Googled Pope for you takethat. Was going to write some lecture notes for you Grin

Is it the Nick Pope who wants to talk about UFOs and alien abductions?! Hmm Or Robin Pope? The chap who organises safaris?! Just let me know, I'll pull something together...! Grin

If it's the Alexander chap, is his satire a patch on Mock the Week?! Grin

OP posts:
BrassicaBabe · 11/10/2010 10:55

Morning viroids! Boss is out of the office for most of this week so should manage to post regularly work hard Grin

Thanks vallinna my eggs are def "powered by drugs" though. How are you today? Do you have any plans for whiping the clinic into shape? Have you got a choice of many in your area? You don't expect this kind of shit if you are paying for it!

Sorry red fecker seems to be on the way harder

Yep, I def think we could forgive creme for a swift BFP now that she's bought "doing a kitten" to the thread Grin

Has the tooth finished pissing you off josie?

Nice symptoms nomore. I second takethat, here's to full on puking for you! Grin

takethat a quick wikipeadia and you can lecture from that surely WinkGrin

Still bleeding. But now it's all really "old" looking. I'm waiting for a call back from the consultant. Hmm

I agree those digital tests are the work of the devil! On Friday evening when I first tested I had 2-3 weeks. On the two Hmm since then it's only been 1-2. Well by my count I'm 4 weeks (and 6 weeks in I Can't Count Doctor speak) I've got one more hanging around (@ £7.50 a go!!) which I will save for a few days.

Have a good day folks. Fingers crossed for the 2WW bunch and lending the thread kipper to vallinna to smack the first health care worker she comes across...

JosieSmith1 · 11/10/2010 10:31

Thanks TTL, a bit sore but ok. Not holding out much hope for a BFP this month but as you say, you never know until it's over. Sorry I know absolutely nothing about pope

Hope docs goes ok for Brassica today, try not to worry

Hope docs goes ok tomorrow NoMore

xx

takethatlady · 11/10/2010 09:51

Oh josie hope you're not too sore today after your fall. Don't get too resigned to BFN this month - you never know!

NMCB I'm glad you're feeling sick :) When you puke I'll be even happier Grin

Just a quick one this (CD6 here so, like nervous, nothing much to report). Gotta run to teach something I know feck all about in ten minutes. Just forgot to say to brassica that the bleeding isn't necessarily a bad sign - in fact, the very fact that the bleeding was a couple of weeks ago and you're still getting BFPs probably means you're fine. When I miscarried at similar early stage I got a BFN before the bleeding started (well, same day, but about 3-4 hours before). And those digital tests are accurate enough for 'pregnant' or 'not pregnant', but wild on the '1-2 weeks' or '3-4 weeks' malarkey.

Hope that makes sense. Anyone know anything about Pope? Pope, mind, not the Pope ... I am totally screwed!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 11/10/2010 09:44

Thanks Miffles. Haven't actually made it to the Drs today. I'm not sleeping well at the moment and just felt to tired and sick to get to the Drs at 8am (with DS in tow), so will go to tomorrows open surgery, which starts an hour later and I'll have time to wait.

The fact that I feel so sick is a good thing though! I just need to hide it when I take DS to his activites in a little while.

Miffles · 11/10/2010 08:21

Morning all - a quickie to wish Brassica and NMCB good luck at the docs. Will be thinking of you.

Gotta get to work, so will catch up tonight.

:)

JosieSmith1 · 10/10/2010 21:59

Welcome Cremegg [waves]

Aw Miffles how nice of you to miss me Smile Been a busy weekend but I'm still here, LOLing at your drunken posting Grin Still no pg signs, and that coming from crazy symptom spotter extrodinaire me Grin

Valinna hope you're feeling better

Tentative congrats to Brassica and NoMore [fingers crossed]

Sorry about BFN Harder but hurray to holibob drinking Grin

Not much to report here except took horsey out to comp today and ended up falling off near the end of a bad round but got back on and after mising out the next few big jumps finished the course and we both made it home in one piece so that's the main thing. Made me have second thoughts about riding while pg though Hmm

No signs though so a bit Biscuit here but getting used to it so not massively disappointed jut wait until ERTD arrives!
