The 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended)

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Resist the lure of ovulation predictor kits, Taking Control of Your Fertility and the dreaded First Repsonse. Knowing where you are in your cycle is entirely permissible though!

Going to the doctor is permitted if you've had a stupidly long cycle but beware of the dildo-cam-scan.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Although all most of these rules are well and truely broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Bitch alert!!

I posted a separate thread, asking for encouragement..."PCOS and poor sperm, encouragment please"...

No one replied, except ATM, who lectured me and I do not feel encouraged!! Sigh. Have a read!!

Think it's time I went home. You girls have been lovely. Thank you. xxx

JosieSmith1 · 12/10/2010 16:48

Ha ha, PMSL at BB, Miffles and NoMore GrinGrin Though the idea of gu ramekin THEN running to asda makes way more sense! Plus has the added advantage of having to eat the pud before being able to use the ramekin Grin

I'm sure you'll all be thinking of me saturday morning if ERTD doesn't arrive on fri (which I reckon it will by the way Sad)

I think the winner should be whoever is first to complete the task, as getting a BFP is very difficult! Grin

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 12/10/2010 15:55

That would make an interesting Olympic sport. Competitors would have to leap out of bed, run down to the shop, buy a pee stick, run back to the nearest loo and wee on said wee stick. Not sure if the winner should be the fist one to complete this task with out weeing themselves, or the first one to get a BFP.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 12/10/2010 15:47

If you were really onto it Josie, you'd have a gu on Friday then FMU into the ramekin on sat then bolt to Asda in a slighty more dignified manner. Just be careful where you leave you pot of pee while you're out. Grin

Miffles · 12/10/2010 15:02

loving the image of Josie running to Asda with her legs crossed - like a 4 year old, holding your fanjo trying not to let your FMU escape!!

Fingers crossed for you and DH Miffles

And good luck to NoMore and Brassica keeping a hold off the little 'uns!

I am waiting until saturday to POAS as ERTD has been like clockwork since coming off the pill so no reason to test before friday, if ERTD doesn't arrive by sat then I will be rushing to asda before I've even had my morning wee Grin

Miffles · 12/10/2010 14:18

Thanks guys. I knew you'd all be supportive... :)

Yes, the journey starts here. And at least we know early on there is a problem, so it can be addressed properly.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 12/10/2010 14:13

Grin and giggle at Vallinna's thoughts all being stolen by Brassica!

Miffles Boo about you DHs swimmers not being so super. But fingers crossed that now things are happening you end up with a BFP soon.

vallinnapod · 12/10/2010 14:06

I'm pretty sure I can have original thoughts but brassica keeps beating me too it so.....wot she said, again.

I don't know how you feel but I was almost relieved the first time we were told something was wrong. It's like you have a starting point to move forward from if that makes sense?

Sounds like our journeys will be similar. Wish someone would have indicated these things may be tough several years ago. I laugh at how paranoid I got when I once (in 11 years!!!) missed a pill, or the time I took the morning after pill when I was 18...I should have been so lucky Wink

BrassicaBabe · 12/10/2010 13:40

Good news and bad news then miffles. I remember feeling rather beat up after my first appointment too. I'm glad you liked your cons. My DH morphology was only 6% if that helps? Fingers crossed for a definite plan of action soon x

Miffles · 12/10/2010 13:35

Hey viroids,

I apologise in advance, but this is going to be a very self-centred post. Can't really take in what is happening to others right now!! Blush

So...the consultant was really nice. Yay! He took time to listen to us and explained things clearly. He agreed it sounds like I have PCOS. The big surprise and bummer is that DH doesn't have normal swimmers. His count and normal forms were both low. So the doc then started talking about assisted conception. Scary!

We were in shock for a bit, as I fully expected to be given clomid and walk out of there! I had written down BB's questions and prepared other questions too, like Vallinna suggested. But all were in relation to clomid.

So he wanted to do a couple more tests first - bloods for thyroid and testosterone on me and DH had bloods for hormones that may be causing his low swimmers. Had them done straight after and then we're going to see him again in 3 weeks to decide the course of action.

He said we could do clomid if we wanted - it is simpler, but with the low sperm, it may well not work. Or we could do assisted conception - and they'd do further anaylsis of DH's sperm to decide if IUI or IVF was best.

Have calmed down now. DH great. He said we've just got a different journey to go down to get our baby. Bless him.

Welcome Choco. And glad NMCB was listened to, and BB the bleeding stopped.

vallinnapod · 12/10/2010 13:04

Hugs Brassica and NMCB xxx

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 12/10/2010 13:03

I'm feeling two tone positive in first response pink Grin. Not sure why the Drs wee stick was faint, because my HPT this morning wasn't.

BrassicaBabe · 12/10/2010 12:34

Well done for getting taken seriously this time nomore I hope you are feeling positive.

OP posts:
NoMoreChocBiscuits · 12/10/2010 12:32

Back from the Drs after an epic wait. I explained the situation and that I don't want to keep losing babies if it's my body and can be fixed (and that I understand something wrong with the baby is unavoidable). Did a wee on stick test and it was very faint, so she's taken blood to get a proper gague of hormone levels and I'll get another test next week to make sure the levels are rising properly.

She was also a little bit Hmm that I didn't get a BFN after losing the last one (which I put down to the crap Dr I saw at the time).

And if I do start to bleed I am to call the surgery straight away. So while there isn't much that can be done now, at least I'm feeling supported and taken seriously. Now I just need to Not lose the little blighter for another week or so!

Grin for the 2WW madness. Loving it.

BrassicaBabe · 12/10/2010 12:32

When are you testing josie? Although, well done for ignoring the DPO so far! Grin

Any news miffles?

I rang my consultant after nil response yesterday. Firstly he's on annual leave and secondly he doesn't use e-mail Hmm! His secretary says to call the EPU. I said they only take referrals. She said go see your GP! Fecking great aftercare! Anyway, bleeding has stopped. I think I'm still pg (reading about missed MC is worrying me) and I've got a GP appointment for Monday. Although I'm working from home on Friday and might pull an "emergency appointment" need.

Weclome choco

Is takethat still busy flashing her bum at students? Grin

No such thing as TMI nervous. It won't be long before we're all apologising to each other for not enough I Grin I googled "pant snot twice in a month" but didn't come up with any answers Hmm

I wonder if there is a way to give my FF 130 day left subscription to someone?

OP posts:
vallinnapod · 12/10/2010 10:28

Miffles - basically came off pill, had no periods for 4 months, bloods confirmed normal hormones but the couple of dildocams revealed the PCOS. Then told could wait a couple of months or go straight for clomid - which we did. Went private as otherwise would have had to wait longer. If you are on the NHS there is a possibility they will want to do a SA on your DH, HyCoSy on you to check for blocked tubes and infectious diseases tests on you both. A pain in the arse but actually no point in pumping you full of hormones if there is another issue - which is bound not to be the case, just a crappy wait if you do have to have the tests Grin Otherwise, wot brassica said Grin One tip (which she has mentioned) and I can't rave enough about, think really carefully beforehand about what you want from the meeting, write it all down. Think of the possible responses and your answers to these. The amount of times I have come out of appointments upset and confused because I just didn't ask the right questions...!

So annoyed I am waiting til tomorrow as opposed to the appointment I was meant to have at midday today Angry This is what (attempted) babymaking does to you. Makes you irrational at a 26hour delay!

Chocoflakes · 12/10/2010 09:32

josie I think you should def go for the fertility monitor, why not?! I think I would in a couple of months to find out, and put my mind at rest.

JosieSmith1 · 12/10/2010 09:20

Hi Choco, come on in! Symptoms sounding good!

Would it be breaking the rules if I got one of those fertility monitor thingys for my next cycle? Just to make sure I'm actually oving as I'm not sure anymore, then at least if I find out I'm not I can go to docs, if I am I can stop using it and get JSing Grin

Nervous you made me laugh with your TMI Shock that should be TMI, but isn't to us load of wierdos people Grin

Hope BB & NMCB are good today, hopefully you'll both get some answers from docs today

Thanks Miffles but I haven't had a chance to have a bath yet and the aches are spreading down my back, was rather difficult to get up this morning Grin but I'm trying to move around and keep them supple

TTL it turns out I'm 12DPO and didn't realise! I'm doing very well at ignoring it Shock

Chocoflakes · 12/10/2010 08:41

Morning viroids, I have been following the thread but not posting as I dont seem to be able to offer any practical advice but I do hold my fingers crossed for our 2 BFP!
I have no idea if I ov'd this month, as I wasn't sure that my coming off the pill bleed was a proper period Hmm

But- I have been queezy since saturday, and my nipples are really painful, we did do a cheapie test with a BFN but I think I would only be about a week gone! So I am on the 2ww, guessing i'm due for AF next thursday.
Why cant the test's be for any earlier?!!! I didn't want any wine last night either, my OH felt my head in shock!

I hope you all have a great day, best of luck with doctors and just hanging on in there!

NervousNelly · 11/10/2010 22:17

Alright nomore, I'll go mental to cheer you up :)

WAAAYYY TMI alert Blush - came home this evening, went to the loo and upon wiping(I warned you, TMI...) noticed what can only be described as a suspended trail of pant snot Confused. Don't look at me like that, you were all warned Wink

Anyway, so let's all guess whether that means a) I'm ovulating twice this month, a week apart b) ERTD is going to arrive on an even SHORTER cycle than last month (on CD19 I think) Angry or c) my body is playing mean tricks just to con me into thinking I'm going to get a BFP.

HA.

So I think I've cracked first on the symptom spotting Wink. I also feel sick, but that's just the weird mix of food I've eaten today :)

(PS - Arse biscuits - very funny :))

Eskarina · 11/10/2010 21:24

Hi Viroids. Glad everyone's hanging on in there. I have nothing to say, I'm competely knackered. Am actually getting a bit panicky having looked back over the last couple of months' worth of BBT charts (please don't kick me off) and realised that it's unlikely that I've ovulated last month or this. It's CD16 and no pant snot in sight. I thought I'd had ov pains but it could have been wind Blush

Sorry, That was quite a lot of nothing to say.

baby2b · 11/10/2010 19:31

I am glad it is looking good for you Brassica. As the thread originator it was def you turn Grin

Miffles · 11/10/2010 19:27

Thanks Brassica - really helpful. I've just copied down those questions onto my paper! Am actually going to PIAR tomorrow morning....who was it that said they hadn't done it yet and felt left out? That's me too! AF has always come after 2 or 3 weeks so no point. But, despite having NO symptoms and knowing I'm not anyway, thought it'd be worth checking I'm not pg before the appt. Have read a few too many threads of people still bleeding thro the pregnancy every month and not knowing, etc. Wink

Good to see you again b2b. Well done for not testing. I bet you'll crumble and test in 2 days. Any other bets for when b2b will test? Do I hear 3 days?! Grin
