The 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended)

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Resist the lure of ovulation predictor kits, Taking Control of Your Fertility and the dreaded First Repsonse. Knowing where you are in your cycle is entirely permissible though!

Going to the doctor is permitted if you've had a stupidly long cycle but beware of the dildo-cam-scan.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

***

Although all most of these rules are well and truely broken!! But we try to chill - honest

That's great Josie!! I haven't held a baby in years!! I suppose it'll all come flooding back :)

Went and bought 3 tests (one first response and a twin superdrug cheapy, but only used one of those) very faint line on the superdrug cheapy, but a much clearer (but still fainter than control)line on the first response ... is it ok to get my hopes up now? 3 tests can't be wrong, can they?? Hmm

Am saving the 3rd one for FMU tomorrow Grin so hoping to get a good solid line!!

JosieSmith1 · 14/09/2010 14:43

Afternoon everyone

I just met my friend and her 11 month old duaghter who I haven't seen since she was about 2 months. She is absolutely gorgeous! I got lots of smiles and hand clapping and box banging etc Grin I could have snatched her away and eaten her! Grin

She apologised for the text she sent me and said she didn't mean it to come across nastily and we had a good chat about how I feel about it all and I think she realises it's right for me as I have totally changed with her daughter compared to when I last saw her and I'm more relaxed so she went away happy Grin

crowette · 14/09/2010 10:27

I've dealt with a lot worse and on my own. At least I have my OH by my side now - he really is my rock :)

Fingers crossed with your friend! I was like your friend when a couple of my friends had unplanned pregnancies - thought they were daft to go ahead with them with their circumstances, but that was when I was very logical, emotionally cold, totally different to how I am now! Mind you, with one of them, I'm not sure how wrong I was Wink

Right, I've had my toast and marmite, pee'd in an old glass for stick dippage later, and now I'm off out to get the sticks!! I WILL find out one way or another! Angry

JosieSmith1 · 14/09/2010 10:10

Oh Crowette you?re stuck in the s**t a bit aren?t you! I?m a big believer in that people are stronger than they think and I?m positive it?ll all work out and no matter what is thrown at you you?ll deal with it.

My friend with her 11 month old baby might just be coming in to work today and I haven?t seen her since baby was only a couple of months old so she?ll have changed so much and I might even be brave enough to have a hug (if we hide somewhere so everyone isn?t watching my inadequacy!)Grin Although, this is the same person who said I shouldn't be starting a family yet and I shouldn't have let DH push me into it (as if he could) and we haven't spoken since she said that so we'll see how things go. Maybe when we speak face to face she'll realise how much I want it. I know she's just looking out for me though.

crowette · 14/09/2010 09:34

Josie - my Drs have a phone queue system, it doesn't connect you straight away, just tells you your place in the queue - pretty disheartening to hear 'you are 26th in the queue'! Then when it gets to 'you are first in the queue' it connects you to the surgery and then you have to go through options to make an appointment, then wait for them to answer the damned phone! So frustrating - hence me getting there tomorrow morning in good time for them opening at 8am Grin

Now I have to call work to tell them I won't be in tomorrow either (got a rather bullying boss who I'm so close to taking out a grievance procedure against, after stepping down from supervisory role, mainly due to his attitude - lack of support and total negativity) The thought of going back at the moment is giving me anxiety attacks, heart rate speeds right up, got upset tummy and just want to cry at the thought of it :(

Of course, wondering if I AM pregnant or not is not helping either - on that note, showed OH the phone pic of my test and he could deffo make out the faint line, straight away and is overwhelmed and gone all over protective. Also informed me that my boobs seem heavier and firmer and tighter (after a good old grope, haha!!) They are very tingly this morning.

If I AM pregnant that poses the problem of finding somewhere else to live - we thought it'd take ages for us to conceive, so had time to get our own place sorted ... I'm staying with an elderly relative and he's at his parents (long story) but now I've taken a rather large cut in wages and he's not quite able to afford to move yet Confused plus the elderly relative is heavy smoker and OH is angry that I'm breathing it all in. So we're having to consider social housing which will probably involve staying in a hostel for some time ... I certainly know how to make things hard for myself Hmm

Ooops sorry for the long post!!

JosieSmith1 · 14/09/2010 08:57

Morning all, feeling a bit better today, POAS last night [hangs head in shame], BFN but I was expecting it so not too disappointed. But I definitely think there's something going on down there so if I'm definitely not pg, I hope ERTD arrives on time, otherwise it'll be my first long cycle when I've been regular so far. Anyway, cross that bridge when we come to it.

We're having a bit of a change around at work so the other people who are staying here with me have decided that once my friend has left, and has been replaced and we are all settled, I can go and have a baby (how do people seem to bring it up when they don't know I'm trying!) so I have to go to another office and sit on 'that chair' which apparently is the pg chair and everyone who has sat on it over the past couple of years has fallen pg, even the people who have come in temporarily to cover maternity leave, have then got pg and gone on maternity leave themselves!

This is my plan viroids and I'm sticking to it GrinGrin

NMCB I hope you're feelin a little better today?

Crowette I'd be tearing my hair out! You have to ring my drs at 8am and keep ringing and ringing continually (it's constantly engaged) otherwise the oldies get aaaaalllll the appointments!

takethatlady · 14/09/2010 08:57

Oh crowette do let us know.

I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be preggo this month. My temp was 96.8 this morning. Since ovulation they've been 97.1-97.2, which is what they were before ovulation last month. This month pre-ovulation they were 96.5-96.8. Don't know what that means except I'm colder than I thought! Maybe I didn't really ovulate this cycle.

Plus the sore boobs and achy back have pretty much gone.

At least I can join you all at the doctor's surgery as soon as AF arrives.

Right, rule breaks over. brassica, where's that haribo? Grin

crowette · 14/09/2010 08:22

Aarrgh I bloody hate doctors surgerys! Trying to get through for an appointment to sort out why I'm off work sick (stress and needing to see doc to confirm this and provide sicknote) and to see if I AM pregnant or not. After ten mins hanging on the line I'm told there are no more appointments today as they're closed this afternoon and to call again tomorrow at 8am. Well, bollocks to calling - I'll be camped outside there tomorrow morning!

Geez, how is that supposed to help me - impatient little me, who wants to know NOW!!

Grin
milanomum · 13/09/2010 20:33

So, I know I've mentioned this before but I did a bit of research today on this pre-seed thing (which I found whilst searching for opk's on amazon :o)
Have a look, could interest some of you -
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/1040330-Pre-seed-did-it-help?msgid=21291838

P.S. posted on the June thread too.

milanomum · 13/09/2010 20:25

ah, shite nomore that's just not fair :(
big virtual hugs to you (and a large barrel of red)
I'll be joining you and HTK this cycle I think..

Brassica - love the Haribo reference - there are highly-addictive drugs in those, I swear.

BrassicaBabe · 13/09/2010 19:53

nomore, I too am falling to google's charms...

I find myself googling....
"early pregnancy signs nausea"

when I should be googling....

"learn how to stop eating haribo when you are full"

              and

"early pregnany signs fatigue and fever"

when I should be googling....

"how to avoid catching the common cold from friends"

Hmm

As long as it's a bucketful I say it doesn't matter

vallinnapod · 13/09/2010 19:33

NMCB something red I'd say...is that vague enough?!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 13/09/2010 18:44

HTK sounds like we'll be 2WW buddies this cycle. Roll on the madness good times.

Tentative congrats Crow second lines, no matter how faint, are just what we need around here Grin

Hope everyone else has had a good day.

Am busy self diagnosing on google. Have ruled out B6 deficiancy and am going with the progesterone deficiancy (early miscarriages and carb cravings, tick and tick). Can't make the drop in clinic tomorrow as have to do a supermarket dash before meeting parents off the train, so shall catch the Weds drop in clinic at the Drs.

What wine goes well with Haggis?

Truffkin · 13/09/2010 18:33

Hi viroids,

Sorry to hear about the BFN NoMore but hoping the doc can recommend a wonder drug to help with the short LP. Loving the mento sharing, he is indeed 'the one'

Vallinna excitement aplenty for the arrival of AF, here's to a whole new cycle!

Josie I did LOL at the massive ramekin anecdote, I think if I start peeing in random food-related recepticles my DH may think I've lost the plot! I've not used dippy tests so far though....

Faint congrats Crow and fingers crossed that the line gets darker on your next five tests!

I've had a tough day at work, as I am still nursing the remnants of yesterdays' hangover but Saturday night was well worth it. I'm making the most of drunken dancing nights, so I don't resent being sober too much when I get my BFP. Am now off home for a nice stodgy dinner to soak up the last of the hangover and planning some more JSing, as if my iphone app is to be believed Thursday is the big release so am getting as much in as possible this week!

HarderToKidnap · 13/09/2010 17:56

I'm sorry nomore. And congrats crowette!

AF arrived in full flow! So goodby first cycle of TTC. What a blimmin rollercoaster!

baby2b · 13/09/2010 17:25

We are always here to listen nomore. Loving your dh sharing his mentos with you :)

takethatlady · 13/09/2010 17:00

Great advice vallinna. Backing it up with a virtual hug Smile

vallinnapod · 13/09/2010 16:50

True love indeed!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 13/09/2010 16:44

Thanks Vallinna that did help Grin. To bad I can't be arsed going out in the rain or I'd have already had to name change to FullOfChocBiscuits(AndChipsAndCake,I'mARightFattyFatFatAndNotForTheRightReasons!).
For what it's worth, when DH got home he shared his mentos with me!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 13/09/2010 16:40

progestrone OR B6 !

vallinnapod · 13/09/2010 16:39

Arses NMCB - am I right in remembering you have one bub already? Was this a problem that time round? Not that would make any of this better.

I wish I could be more supportive but all I can think is: make a doctors appointment (because it make you feel like you are doing something), have a good cry (because it makes you feel stupid and better at the same time), get lots of cuddle from DH/DC (and virtual cuddles from us viroids) (because cuddles rock), remove the 'NM' from your name (because choclate biscuits rock), find some trash on TV that doesn't involve underage chavs getting pregnant/middle age chavs not realising their pregnant/Anne Robinson.

Hope that helps....obviously where I have said 'you', the word 'i'/'me' has been there many a time xxxx

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 13/09/2010 16:39

B2B apparently a luteal phase defect is caused by a hormone deficency, either progesterone of vitamin B6, but the Dr needs to do some tests to determine exactly what's happening. I even saw Clomid listed as a treatment!

JosieSmith1 · 13/09/2010 16:38

Oh NoMore don't worry about being annoying, I've done my fair share of whinging, you've got a damn good reason for it hun!

I really hope it is dealt with easily, fingers crossed for you [hug emoticon]

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 13/09/2010 16:36

At least now I don't have to hide my complete lack of alcohol and shell fish from my parents who arrive tomorrow. Ohh and I can go and polish off the Brie in the fridge.

Yes I'm desperately grasping at straws here, but I can't dwell on it or I'll cry and would like to at least keep that for the bath tub tonight. And if it is a luteal phase defect like I suspect at least it's easily treated (or so google leads me to believe)

Thanks Viroids! I know I've been damned annoying of late, but this is why I've been so anxious about that stupid bfp. Couldn't be happy til I had that and kept it.
