The 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended)

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Resist the lure of ovulation predictor kits, Taking Control of Your Fertility and the dreaded First Repsonse. Knowing where you are in your cycle is entirely permissible though!

Going to the doctor is permitted if you've had a stupidly long cycle but beware of the dildo-cam-scan.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

***

Although all most of these rules are well and truely broken!! But we try to chill - honest

hurrah crow - that's fantastic!

nomore I feel your frustration. AF arrived this afternoon after POASing twice today because the first one didn't work - no control line - what a waste of ?12!! So i had to go to mcdonalds en route to my dental appointment involving x-rays and POAS in their toilets... nice, eh?! negative of course although we defo did everything right this month so i'm a bit peed off and hoping this cycle will do it. Thinking of sitting down and having a chat with dh to explain that we are actually ttc-ing "properly" and that time is of the essence and that 5 or 6 months of just Jsing might not be enough and that i might have to do things like stick my legs up in the air after etc etc. Otherwise he'll be wondering what the feck ì'm up to.

Brassica and TTL please distract me with your 2ww mentalness

JosieSmith1 · 15/09/2010 14:56

Hi Brassica my 2ww finishes on friday but 99% sure I'm not pg this time around so not getting worked up about it unless it doesn't arrive, sorry I can't help with the mentalness this month (makes a nice change) Grin. I'm bored too but that's becaus eI've been dragged through the s***r today and I refuse to put any effort in today as I know it won't be appreciated so instead I am currently researching possible suppliers and emailing them about my new business venture.

I figure all I have to do is get some stock in, start a website, then sell sell sell! Obviously there's more to it than that but that's the jist of it.

BrassicaBabe · 15/09/2010 14:29

Congratulations crow Are you hanging around with us lot or heading off to the sunny climes of the graduates thread? Grin

I've had 2 days now of "early pg symptoms vs cold coming on". So far no cold!

Glad things are ok nomore

The JIAR got delivered safely. Only had a quick peek. They lie when they say it's only a teaspoon full!

Comeon takethat share some of your 2WW mentalness with me! I need to feel that I've got some mad comany in this! Grin

Fecking bored at work today. Too much google time on my hands! Hmm

Phew! I finally made it to the end! I try to only read MN at work (hmm, I have a strong work ethic I promise...) so it's taken me a little while. I may have also succumb to the addiction and be reading from home right now.

So, CD21 today. I have been swinging back and forth between pg and AF symptom spotting. I frustrate myself, since how much I think about becoming pg does not actually help me get pg. As long as I ov'd around when I thought I did, I should have shagged enough to make the time frame. Fingers crossed Grin. If AF doesn't arrive by 22 then I'll let myself piar on 23rd. Not that confident though :(

Vallinna, congrats on your AF. I really hope that this is the starting point of predictability to your cycle, and even more of a BFP.

NoMore I'm so sorry for the way things have been going for you. Keep that sparkly shag cape on! (Mine's in the wash at the mo, otherwise I'd lend it to you for double shag cape luck.)

Crow congratulations! Keep the grads thread warm for us, please. Smile

crowette · 15/09/2010 12:28

Josie that's how I feel about my job at the moment, so you have my sympathies. I work in a supermarket and was supervisor for a dept - no actual manager for that dept, jusy my boss above me who expected me to manage everything while doing 37 hrs a week shopfloor work. I was doing well, improving the availabilty and waste (which is what I was told had to happen) but due to things out of my control (people going sick, not able to get cover until last minute due to overtime cap etc) I was getting disciplined and picked at by my boss. I was getting the blame for things that went wrong when I was off for a week - stuff he was equally to blame for, and I HAD asked for support and warned of the upcoming problems. I was getting no praise for the things that mattered.

In the end I decided I just wanted to go home at the end of my shift and forget about work, not wake up at 2am worrying about it - not worth it for £6.84 and hour!!! But the stress has already built up and I'm suffering now Hmm Doctor asked me how much it'd affect me financially if I had to give up work - maybe I should have got him to sign me off til I'm due to take maternity leave Grin

ComeTalkToMe · 15/09/2010 12:13

Congratulations crowette! Send some of those baby vides this way!

No more sorry to see your news. I know what you mean happy and annoyed. But hopefully your Dr not being too concerned means you'll be able to get the good news you're looking for soon without any poking or prodding except from your DH!

I'm at CD 12 now and had some nice JS to welcome DH back from stag night. Was good so happy to continue as much as possible Wink

May also furkle over next few days to see state of pant snot!

takethatlady · 15/09/2010 12:01

Bagsy crowette's lucky shag cape. Hate the 2ww.

Good and bad about the docs nomore. I'm sure there's no problemo and it's just bad luck. I wish I had a time capsule though so I could just zip forward and check I'll be either preggo or baby-ed up a year from now. Bet you feel the same.

Snotty over here, and not in a panty kind of way.

JosieSmith1 · 15/09/2010 12:01

I'm so sorry for constantly complaining but I've just suddenly realised why I have been stressing about tiny little things. Everything at my job has changed so much recently and it's all about targets and our new manager disciplines people for the smallest stupid things so everyone is stressed out but as admin we're bottom of the food chain and get made scapegoats for everything. Just now I nearly started crying because I've just had enough of being talked to like I don't deserve respect. Every time the phone rings I flinch in case someone is complaining about something I have or haven't done, I'm totally paranoid. I work my fingers to the bone every day but never get recognised.

I'm really really sorry all I've done is complain recently but I needed somewhere just to get it off my chest, feel free to attack me with the thread kipper!

Phew, well now that's out I can go back to writing a business plan to get my ass out of here! Grin

crowette · 15/09/2010 11:34

Take as much as you like NoMore there's plenty to go around!

I was expecting my doc to tell me he'd refer me to a midwife at the surgery - as I've had before (11 years ago though!) but he told me I need to take myself off to the local Sure Start centre and see someone there ... I can tell everything is going to be SOOO different now Confused

I think I got lucky and managed to get in a last minute shag after I thought my OV window had closed, if my implantation bleed is anything to go by. I'd tested two days before that and got BFN, thought the game was up when I started to bleed (28 days after last period) so maybe my cycle is a little longer than I thought? I never really took much notice of it before as it was our first month TTC. So I'd just keep on JSing at all different times to cover all bases Grin

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 15/09/2010 11:09

Greedily taking some of Crows good vibes and putting them in my shag cape pocket.

I also saw the Dr this morning (only had to queue since 9.15 though). He's not concerned about things at the moment nor was he trying to dismis me out of hand. Obviously if this keeps happening then they can start poking and proding me to find out what's wrong, but for now just lots and lots of JSing for DH and I (my words not the Drs!). I'm happy and annoyed all at the same time.

crowette · 15/09/2010 10:40

Good morning ladies :)

Finally got to see the doctor this morning (had to queue at 7.45am!) he's signed me off work for a week due to work related stress issues ... also said if 3 tests are positive, no matter how faint, then he's not needing to do another, as they're all the same, so confirmed me as 5 weeks pregnant! Oh heck, aged 38 and 11 years after the last one, it's all starting again - I really must be mad Grin

So I have a shag cape going, free to a good home, hardly used!

OH and I are getting our daughters (mine aged 16 and 10, his 14!!) together at the weekend to tell them the good news. They knew we were trying - we wanted to sound them out about it, make sure they'd not be upset or grossed out at the fact that their mum and dad shag at our age Wink They're excited and keep asking if it's happened yet, so they'll be pleased!

JosieSmith1 · 15/09/2010 10:31

PMSL Brassica, don't you wish you could put things like that sometimes! Hope th JIAJ does the trick!

takethatlady · 15/09/2010 09:21

Grin brassica. Hope your DH fills that jar up good and proper!

BrassicaBabe · 15/09/2010 09:19

Oh, and I wonder if he'll be pissed off if I get pg this month because the JIAJ will be in vain!!

I get to drive the sample into the hospital when he's finished Hmm

Welcome back sleepy. Loving the 'minjury' (well, loving it now it's healed!). Still makes me wince thinking about it ...

brassica take this thwack with the kipper. But I need it too. Have a stinking cold, so that accounts for the achy muscles. Saw a preg test in a pocket of a bag this morning and I actually spent about 10 minutes seriously thinking about doing it. I am 8DPO! What a wally.

Forgot to tell you something ridiculous that happened to me yesterday. I was driving to work (it takes just over an hour) and got to the last big roundabout. I pulled up, scratched my nose (I swear I was only scratching the end of it) and looked to my right. There was a man in the passenger seat of a lorry sticking his face up against the window and lavishly picking his nose at me and laughing his head off. This went on until the lights went green. WTF is a girl supposed to do??!! I wanted to wind the window down and yell out 'I wasn't picking my nose!' but I thought that would make it worse. He was about 40 too.

Anyway, apart from the drunken bruises on my arse and shins turning black that's about as exciting as it gets round here. Hate the f*ing 2ww!

JosieSmith1 · 15/09/2010 08:31

Welcome back Sleepy, sorry you?re feeling Sad

Hang on in there Brassica!

Sorry you?re a bit miserable B2B. But good that you can drink on your birthday!

Well good morning everyone. I am sick of work completely and don?t want to work here any more, so I am looking at starting my own business. This could easily be a passing phase but I?m at least going to look into it. I want to do something that I can start maybe on the internet and continue to work (for what it?s worth) then branch out into premises perhaps.

Anyway, any tips greatly appreciated.

My friend said her best advice for TTC was to relax [not impressed emoticon]

baby2b · 14/09/2010 21:34

Hey sleepy, welcome back. I am waiting for Af to arrive either tomorrow or thursday. Got all my symptoms with a vengeance and thoroughly miserable. :( Trying to keep it together in front of DH as I don't want to add pressure to the whole ttc thing.

On the positive side I had an amazing amount and quality of jsing this month and will be able to drink on my birthday [smug about something icon]

Brassica fingers crossed for you. :)

baby2b · 14/09/2010 21:28

Crowette I researched the possibility of false positives a while back...If you have a line, even a faint one, you are pregnant..congrats! Grin

BrassicaBabe · 14/09/2010 20:56

Welcome back Sleepy Grin Glad the minjury is healed and you are back in the JSing saddle. Sorry witch AF has arrived.

I've still got this "low grade" nausea. I'm only 5DPO so any ideas in my head are just stooopid.

Hi Viroids.

waves to everyone, hands massive lass or wine to NoMore

Have been of here for ages, as laptop broke, plus it's been the summer hols.

Still JS-ing. Still nothing. :(

Am due AF tomorrow and it is well on its way. Am a spotty, grumpy, bloaty mess. Add in my teary disappointment at obvs not being preg, and I am quite the attractive propspect for poor old DH! Grin

Have been bloody stupid and done a test yesterday and an early one last week. Both BFN.

Never used OPK's before, but as soon as AF shows up, I'm hitting Boots.

In other news, DS starts reception on Monday and I could blart my eyes out every time it is mentioned :( :( :(

Pffft, bet everyone's glad I'm back eh?!

PS The infamous 'minjury' is healed Grin

BrassicaBabe · 14/09/2010 18:55

Good luck with Dr appt nomore. Hope you manage to crack appointment system to get through the door crow

Well I'm only 5DPO but my head is doing mental things like planning future career around maternity leave. You are going to have to get the thread kipper out. AF due next Friday. Advanced Warning I'm going to be a bloody nightmare and will need propping up this month.

DH has his appointment to JIAJ tomorrow. Heavens knows why he's do het about about it. I refuse to sympathise. It is nothing like the tests the women have to go through Hmm Wuss!

First Morning Urine. Smile that you're head's in the right place now Josie

Crowette My firstresponse packet says very clearly that a second line is a positive whether it's as dark as the control or not. Grin

Just a flying visit today as my parents are here. Feeling pg sick today, but still fully bleeding. I just have to wait for the hormones to leave my system. Off to Dr in morning, nice and early. Want to tell my parents, but will discuss it with DH first I think as we haven't told anyone we're TTC.

takethatlady · 14/09/2010 16:44

Definitely get your hopes up crowette. The lines are never as dark as the control! Yeehah for you!

Off for a swim now. Boobs hurting again, but maybe only in imagination Hmm

JosieSmith1 · 14/09/2010 16:15

Crowette I've only ever held 2 newborns and one 2 month old baby (the one I saw today) so I could do with plenty of practice! I thought I would feel jealous seeing her but actually I feel really optimistic now, as if it's in my head that it will happen for us one day, just gotta b patient.

Oooooooooooooo by the way!!!!!! I think you can probably get excited now. What does FMU mean?
