The 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended)

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Resist the lure of ovulation predictor kits, Taking Control of Your Fertility and the dreaded First Repsonse. Knowing where you are in your cycle is entirely permissible though!

Going to the doctor is permitted if you've had a stupidly long cycle but beware of the dildo-cam-scan.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

***

Although all most of these rules are well and truely broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Woah - googled 'mooncup'. Had no idea!

Boobs hurting again. Think they are connected to the appearance of late lines.

Sorry for all the dreadful typos in the last post. 'Take a leave'? That just shows I'm either pregnant, knackered or drunk. And it definitely isn't the latter.

Hope everyone else is holding up after crappy news and crappier doctors. Except for nervous that is, who should just pour herself another gin :)

baby2b · 20/09/2010 21:28

Struggling to keep up with all the posts at the mo :)

Still nothing to report here. AF is nearly finished so js will be commencing soon Grin. Mooncup is best purchase in ages. A little practice and I was wondering why I ever used tampons!

Takethat if a kipper could be a website it would be the peeonastick website - really helpful. I have looked at it a couple of times when I have pulledapart been unsure of tests results.

takethatlady · 20/09/2010 21:02

vallinna you were entitled to get a bit arsey. Sad for how difficult things are proving to be at the moment but, like brassica says, you are Queen of Dildocam and you'll get there!

I know miffles! That nurse was pint-sized bitch.

Loving all the farming that's going on on here. Hopefully we can take a leave from the animals' books!

In other news, my BFN was positive when I got home tonight. Must read peeonastick.com/hpt/cautionary.html

Hmm
BrassicaBabe · 20/09/2010 20:46

Sorry, the boobs are pain free takethat I'm just having a quiet glass of wine tonight. Hopeing to apease the ttc gods with some good behaviour Wink Clutching at fecking straws me!

Well, the sheep are a PITA. The ewe lambs got in with the rams, so the vet was coming down for the "morning after pill". Grin I've had chooks before too. They are most fun to have around the place.

Like the rant vallinna. And why not! You don't mind the occasional wait, but when you are paying privately, you expect at least an apology and for the treating professionals to know what they are treating you for. You are still Queen of the Diodocam! Grin

OP posts:
vallinnapod · 20/09/2010 20:07

Thanks miffles - resigned to the fact they are all shite Grin

Absolutely LOVE the chicken names!!

Miffles · 20/09/2010 19:39

crossed posts with you vallinna

You deserve one of nervous's G&Ts on a rooftop bar!! Sounds like you had a rotten rotten crapperty day. Well done on doing an official complaint. What makes it worse for you, of course, is that this is the 2nd private place you've been to for treatment, isn't it? Let's hope they pull their socks up for Thursday.

Glad things have been sorted out for tomorrow, but not the stress you need is it. Hope it goes well. x

Miffles · 20/09/2010 19:35

Snowpea ? glad to hear your body is behaving itself. I got excited when AF turned up giving me a 23 day cycle. That is my personal best since off the pill in January! Otherwise it has been CD 17 ? 21. So gained a whole 2 days!! Sigh....PCOS....

Crowette ? the medical profession have got some answering to do. Well done on venting here and not at the doc....although some well placed put downs would probably have made you feel better.

Oh ? Takethat, I like your names. Kinda old, but would be cool. Like Edith Bowman. I do wonder sometimes how a 40 year old called ?Daisy Boo? will get on...
Can't believe, at 16, and 9 stone, you were lectured on being overweight. That is shocking Shock. I'm only 5' 3' (ok, actually 5' 2 and half) and would dream of being 9 stone! We're a lot of short arses on here, aren't we!?! Grin

How were the sheep Brassica?!

Nickelbabe ? my parents had chickens. They were called Sam and Ella. (salmonella....geddit?) Poached. Fried. Boiled. Scrambled. And the cockerel was called Paxo (cos he stuffed the chickens! I so didn?t get that joke til I was about 18....I was about 8 when I went to school, saying we had a cockerel called Paxo. I wonder what the teachers thought of my parents!!)

Off to my legs/bums/tums class now. I always enjoy it when I'm there....got to get there first though!

vallinnapod · 20/09/2010 19:34

Hi all,

Crow - sorry to hear about your woes. Completely uncalled for comments. I'd have been too shocked to react too.

Brassica - bastard sun induced line. Whole new meaning to ray of hope...

I've had a day of it Sad

Kept waiting for a hour for my scan. Completely lost it. Not really like me at all. 'Reasonably' ranted at the receptionist then wrote an email of complaint while I continued to wait, so it is all official Shock. Then was rude to the sonographer as she didn't acknowledge the wait Confused The got pissed off as she had no idea about me treatment plan. I said I refused to pay for this appointment. Was just a horrible person. No real follicles growing and thin lining Sad Back on Thursday for another scan.

Then had a 'mare at work. Big meeting tomorrow with people from all over the world coming. My big showcase and I find the meeting room hasn't been booked. Had to hang up on the booking lady as was going to cry. I am not a crier. Had no idea how I was going to tell those involved. It wasn't my fault but it would have been perceived to be. They finally resolved it.

All in all very Biscuit

takethatlady · 20/09/2010 19:17

Envy nervous

I'm sure because my sore boobs have totally vanished - they feel like regular boobs today, instead of boobs of fire like yesterday. And I thought I had a pink line on Saturday but it would be getting stronger by now and it's gone gone gone.

I reckon there's a 1% chance I'm pregnant. Can't get drunk now brassica as I've gotta drive home from work (yes, I'm here bloody late!), but any other day this week works for me Grin

NervousNelly · 20/09/2010 18:36

I cannot lie, I am having a lovely time! But if it makes you feel better, I have loads of mossie bites including one under my bra strap, one on my foot, and one on my face - nice.

BrassicaBabe · 20/09/2010 18:20

Yep, we are cd buddies nervous. I'm usually on a 26 or a 27 day cycle it seems. Def ov'ed on cd12 though. Very jealous of your holidaying!!

OP posts:
NervousNelly · 20/09/2010 18:13

Brassica I thought we were cycle buddies - my ERTD isn't due until Sunday? Are you on a 26 day cycle? Like Milano says - it's too early to test!!! Kipper alert for you Wink. takethat I echo Brassica - why so sure? Still time to hope isn't there?

I officially hate google. Having been a bit bemused by the on/off splodges/bleeding I've seen today/yesterday, I only went and googled it; and the first link I clicked matched exactly - description of timing, colour, consistency etc. I was doing so well being calm, and now I'm not. I won't be doing any rule-breaking early tests though, due to afore-mentioned holiday/language barrier (I'd probably find I'd tested negative for an STD or something Grin). Haven't shared my worries/teeny tiny excitement with OH as a) his Mum ended up in hospital today, though we think it's not too serious and b) I had bargained with him into starting ttc, due to my age and how long it was going to take. Not that he's not ready, but he's not expecting it to happen any time soon. I worry he'd think I tricked him - like any of us have that much control over the process Confused Shock.

Anyway am off to the rooftop bar for a GnT which will keep me in denial. I'm probably just being optimistic, and really it's just my period arriving early to stuff up my holiday. No doubt I'll be sheepishly sharing that with you all in the next couple of days (but moodily of course, as I'll have PMT too).

Oh Milano just realised I'm closer to you just now than the majority of the other JS'ers

BrassicaBabe · 20/09/2010 16:38

Takethat, I will certainly be joining you in a drunken-fest! Af is due on Friday. Mood of doom should descend on about Wednesday.

Why are you so certain of BFN this time? Things were sounding positve for you I thought?

We website of which we must not speak, says only 46.6% chance of a positive test at this stage.

Shall we just get drunk now or hang in for a few days?!

OP posts:
takethatlady · 20/09/2010 16:21

crow that is a total joke. How dare somebody make assumptions about how many children you should have or about your perfectly healthy weight? I am the same as you though - sometimes I'm not even annoyed when people say these things, and it only occurs to me afterwards that I should have got Angry. When I was 16 I went to the family planning clinic to get the pill, and I put on about just over a stone in the first three months. I'm in between 5'3" and 5'4" and I weighed 8 stone to begin with, so I was hardly obsese. The nurse went nuts and kept asking questions like, 'I take it you eat pudding every day? You're going to have to put a stop to that', and she got all these leaflets on healthy eating and gave them to my friend and told her to try to help me! I went from never having thought about my weight to thinking about it every day from then on until now. It is a joke what they think they can get away with.

Rant over. brassica that sucks. I'm with you on the Sad and Blush about BFNs. Don't be embarrassed though, they're so hard to interpret when you're looking for the faintest of lines. I know it's a BFN for me this month and I'm pretty pissed off. Ovulated on a Wednesday, and JSed Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Thought you were meant to be more fertile after a mc too. As soon as AF comes I'm getting pissed. Want to join?

milanomum · 20/09/2010 14:42

don't worry luvvie they are evil and that's why I resist early poas temptation. You aren't due yet though are you? Wait a little longer...there's still hope!

crow I can't believe your doctor - that's outrageous. I used to be really quiet about stuff like that but now I just lay into them (in a polite way of course) but don't let him/her? get away with it. You could say something like, "I'm hoping for some more constructive, medical advice on how to go about conceiving rather than insensitive comments." Don't let people like that intimidate you - it's their job to help you for god's sake but unfortunately so many of them need reminding of that Angry

Good news for snowpea and htk - how exactly does one 'find' one's cervix?? Confused

Well, my pre-seed arrived exactly 10 minutes ago! just in time as the fun begins this week :o I was getting so bored with the whole AF week.

BrassicaBabe · 20/09/2010 13:22

Evil, evil tests. I've bought some more of the cheapy wiko's tests - the make I had the faint pink line with on Saturday. BFN.

The pink line must have been because I'd left it in the sun on the windowsill.

Feel stooopid. Particulaly as I did tell DH in the end.

OP posts:
nickelbabe · 20/09/2010 10:00

i had the name dilemma with my chickens! Grin
I had to make sure that i named them names that weren't on my list! problem is, 2 of thenames are names I really love (Erica and Jessica) and I can't have either oft hem on my list now. :(
The next lot of chickens we're getting are going to be named after virtues. But not Grace because Grace is number 23 on our list. so they've got to be Hope, Patience, Charity, Prudence, Faith, Joy or, etc....
(Joy is my mum and my sister's middle name)

anyway, my big sister came very close to calling her daughter my number 1 middle name, but she went for a diminutive of it.
and my little sister called her number 2 son a diminutive of my number 1 1st name.
not that it matters, because my number 1 boy's name is also the name of a firend's son, so...

oh that's confusing, and very silly considering the odds are against us..... (maybe, you never can tell these days! and we desperately need new choir members - procreation might be the only way we'll get any Confused

crowette · 20/09/2010 09:51

Haha Nelly, I'm waiting for him to call me back with my scan appointment - I'll either be biting my tongue or tell him I didn't appreciate him effectively calling me old and fat! But I think he knew he was digging himself a hole, as he got a bit sheepish at that point and said 'yes, well, we'll discuss all that at another time' Hmm

I'm a great one for thinking of stuff to say and do AFTER the event, and sitting there taking the crap during it Grin

crowette · 20/09/2010 09:45

thanks Brassica - OH is at work, has no mobile phone so I can't let him know what the GP said - good in one way, he'd probably want to come home, lol, but he's had enough time off recently. I'll tell him after work, when I've calmed down a bit. If he sees me like this, it'll make him really upset and angry, bless him.

I'm going to make myself a cuppa and some toast and take deep breaths, maybe go meditate for a bit Grin

NervousNelly · 20/09/2010 09:38

crow that is just shocking, no wonder you are Angry. I'd be feeling extremely proud of myself for getting out of there without causing actual bodily harm to the tosser professional doctor Hmm

News from me is some definite bleeding this morning, which could of course be implantation but could also be a random ERTD arriving 6 days early - almost unheard of for me? So am still confused and hoping it's not ERTD as I still have lots of sunbathing and bikini wearing to do; and frankly didn't pack many lillets Confused.

As to names - nope, but if this IS implantation, then the child that arrives in 9 months may end up with a foreign name - think Brooklyn Beckham Wink. Though perhaps a more subtle version, using an actual name rather than just the place he/she/it was conceived. Cos frankly, who wants to be shouting about that??

BrassicaBabe · 20/09/2010 09:37

Welcome back Nervous Happy Shagtastic Holidays to you! We're both on CD23 if that helps. And yes, now would be about the right time for implantation bleeds etc. PMSL @ furklers Grin

I have random names floating through my head Miffles, but I never voice such silliness to DH Smile He would think I was mad. We're currently trying to pick dog names at the moment and can't even agree on that Grin Being a teacher must be annoying when it comes to names. I bet good names are spoiled by grotty children with the same name.

Yeah congratualtions on finding your cervix harder!! Grin Some serious furkling going on over the weekend I guess.

Back to nice regular cycles hopefully now snowpea

crow Shock, Angry and Sad for your treatment at the hands of healthcare "professionals" Hmm So sorry for you. Hang in there. Hope DH is looking after you loads.

takethat, buddy, BFN for me too today. Getting pissed off with all of this too I can tell you. No symptoms. Apart from the odd shooting pain last week, boobs have been uneventful. The womby twinges come and go and low-level nausea is probably all in my head. CD 23/11DPO for me. The faint pink line on the wilko's test is still there. (Apparently they are designed like that so that you can keep them Hmm) I wonder if it's the much talked about evap line. But then it's pink not grey? Yesterdays BFN was Tesco. And todays was ClearBlue (not digital).

Got the vet coming out to look at my sheep today. Gotta have a big chat about preg women and sheep because I need to understand what the concerns are. Deep joy.

crowette · 20/09/2010 09:24

Thanks everyone xx

Unfortunately the insensitivity extends to my GP too :( just got back from seeing him about the weekend's events, and inbetween him calling the EPU to book me in for a scan and telling me that many A&E Drs are new, inexperienced in many matters, so appear to lack any sort of sensitivity, he himself asked me if the 2 children I already have are not enough for me, and shouldn't I just just leave having anymore, taking into account my age (38) and being overweight (I'm a size 16, ok am only 5ft 4, but hardly obese!!!) so now I'm too old and fat to have children and should accept that I've had my lot?!

I'm really fucking angry at him!! I don't know whether to cry, scream, or what!

takethatlady · 20/09/2010 09:07

PS - we're going for family names, so Edith Ava after DH's grandma (middle name still up for grabs though) and Sidney Clive after my granddad and DH's dad.

Most people pull Hmm face when we tell them our ideas. But we like them!

takethatlady · 20/09/2010 09:05

No congrats in order for me josie as I got a most definite BFN this morning, and my boobs, which were bordering on excruciating on Saturday evening/Sunday morning, have just gone back to normal.

I just hope I get AF on Wednesday, which would mean I definitely ovulated when I think I did, and would mean I had a 35 day cycle instead of the 47 and 51 I had the last two times.

Feel a bit disappointed but I didn't get my hopes up this time - not after the last two hellish cycles, anyway!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 20/09/2010 08:50

I'm in lurking mode right now after a tough weekend, but just had to say for names Alba is still on the cards after DS didn't need it and Elspeth since forever.

PS Crow, sorry you've had such a sh!tty time. xx
