The 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended)

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Resist the lure of ovulation predictor kits, Taking Control of Your Fertility and the dreaded First Repsonse. Knowing where you are in your cycle is entirely permissible though!

Going to the doctor is permitted if you've had a stupidly long cycle but beware of the dildo-cam-scan.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Although all most of these rules are well and truely broken!! But we try to chill - honest

I have a confession to make.

After getting excited at the thought of being overdue by exactly a week today, my iron will not to test broke, and I frantically peed on TWO sticks - both received a BFN.

I have my mum and sister over for dinner tonight, and I imagined telling them the good news. Obviously, I didnt imagine the alternative.

takethatlady · 25/09/2010 13:20

Jammies and wine is my plan for tonight nickelbabe. Welcome back nomore! Hope the wedding was good vallinna - sounds great :)

Well I got plastered yesterday - went for celebratory drinks with DH and a couple of friends, one of whom is moving away during term time - and polished off a lot of wine. Hungover this morning and DH and I walked five miles along the river into town to get the car by 9am. Puked a stringy bit of a prawn, too Shock

It was so good to get drunk but the champagne is still in the fridge and DH is telling me I have no choice but to drink it tonight. I do NOT feel like it with this hangover but the old hair of the dog chestnut will win out, I'm sure.

Also, if anyone still needs cheering up they should read the thread on dodgy song lyrics Grin Grin Grin

nickelbabe · 25/09/2010 12:38

vallinnapod, that sounds like you had a good evening!
Grin

last night we went to bed in jammies with a glass of wine - disclaimer, this is not because we didn't manage JS, but JS wasn't intended.
we have choir on fridays, then DH has to finish his fantasy football before we go to bed, and both of us work on saturday.
so we've set up a little (lapsed since the wedding, actually) routine of jammies, wine, tv in bed after choir.
very lovely.
:)

vallinnapod · 25/09/2010 10:26

Sorry viroids, too bust getting drunk at SIL's wedding yesterday Grin have to say, not missed hangovers! Woken up by the sea (not literally, wasn't THAT drunk Wink) which is lovely'

Welcome SRS

Loving the positive lists ladies.

I am off to eat at lest twice my weight in bad food to feed the hangover xxx

Chocoflakes · 25/09/2010 07:21

Morning all.
Josie good luck with the dentist this morning.

I love all the positive comments, been trying to think of more but it seems you have them covered!

Well had a bizarre heavy period of 2 days, and went to bed last night to find it had gone so Jsing was on the menu, much to my mans delight! Got some more in this morning before he went to work-hence being up at a silly hour on a Saturday morning!

Hope everyone has a good weekend, I have a party tonight, so there is a positive, although I've work in the morning so cant be too silly!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 24/09/2010 20:26

Great between s l o w connection and a child who won't sleep with out me in the room I'm not even past Wednesday. I'd say stop typing so much, but it is funny reading what you've all been up to (esp TakeThat!)

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 24/09/2010 20:17

Long time no see viroids. Slowly reading through what feels like a months worth of posts.

For what it's worth I no longer feel freakishly tall. Am 5'7 and a half. DH is only about 5'6 though so don't get to wear high high heels very often (pout).

Nothing to report here, except wind rain and a need for a damn good shagging when I see DH again on Monday. (pout again)

SpareRoomSleeper · 24/09/2010 19:37

thanks and hello milano and takethat...the name is actually due for a change as I am no longer a spare room sleeper, and it never stopped us from JSing, quite the opposite in fact Blush

miffles ..well done you for being brave and leaving early! What colour are you changing the lounge to now?

eskarina...I taught primary too, and got told its different when its your own too..I found it is and it isnt. IS when your heart overflows with love at tiny little gestures of theirs, and isn't when they are whining and moaning and you just want to go aaaarggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ..(I promise I dont, I just lock myself in the bathroom for five glorious minutes)Grin

I cant join in with all the glee of guilt-free drinking/smoking, as I do not drink nor smoke. Since my period is late however, I have been indulging in cups of tea and oreos, telling myself that after all, I may be pregnant Grin.

The true joy will be when AF arrives and Im a couple of pounds heavier as a result of premature celebrations Hmm

Miffles · 24/09/2010 19:11
Grin

I left work early!!! Please don't tell on me!!! Had a relaxed evening planned, but think we may repaint the lounge. After all our hard work a couple of weeks ago, we decided we didn't like the blue. Too cold. Not really sure why we chose blue anyway! DH had better let me do the easy bits, as have been taking advantage of not being pg by having a glass of wine!

Started spotting again today. Grump. Only started period 12 days ago. How can I be bleeding again? Hmm So I so know what you mean, Eskarina about not knowing what you're body is up to. Good news about your friend, though. That kind of thing does cheer me up!

Eskarina · 24/09/2010 17:33

It's the weeeeeekeeenenddd!
I'm frazzled from dealing with children and their bodily fluids. One sick and several wet themselves today. Someone remind me why I want one of my own. The ones I teach are 3-4. I gather babies will require this type of attention several times a day. But perhaps, as people keep telling me "Oh you won't mind so much when it's your own!" Bet I will!

I've made a decision that today is CD1. ERTD is sort of getting going a bit more (sympathise with the running to the loo every 5 mins just to see what it's up to, and had a silent shout at womb earlier), but as I normally have rather heavy ones, I'm rather baffled as to what it's up to.

A nice bit of news today is that a friend at church who has been ttc forever and was told that there was no chance of conceiving naturally has posted on facebook that she's pregnant and due in March.

As for the positives on the list, has anyone mentioned the guilt free drinking Wink

milanomum · 24/09/2010 17:08

doh! i forgot the obvious one
I can still be on this thread with all you lovely people

:o

milanomum · 24/09/2010 17:07

LOL at the 'just shagging' no one here's actually TTCing are they?

josie There is little worse than ear/toothache - my labour was definitely easier (and shorter) than any toothache I've ever had.Hope you get it sorted.

SRS welcome!

I can't really think of any thing to add to lists apart from:

  1. I can still eat nuts and wash them down with vodka (if I wanted to, that is).
  2. I don't have to buy any new clothes to accommodate expanding belly.
  3. Our rather small flat can still hold us all.
  4. I can walk rather than waddle.
  5. I can pick things up off the floor if I drop them.
  6. I can symptom spot and stress on my 2ww some more (my new favourite hobby).

that'll do.

takethatlady · 24/09/2010 16:27

PS. Not that I'm actively trying. I'm just shagging of course Wink

takethatlady · 24/09/2010 16:26

Hey spareroomsleeper hope that name doesn't mean you don't get a lot of JSing in!

Grin miffles both for your inadvertent glance at me and brassica and for your sneaky override of the work computer. LOL at the paranoid typing Grin And yep, the doctor was brilliant. Dr Hunt Dr Hunt Dr Hunt

Told my mum and she tried her hardest not to insinuate that I was crazy for going to the doctors. She got preggo 6 times accidentally (me, a miscarriage, and four terminations) so she can't quite get her head around the actively trying thing and seems to think I'm off my rocker. She doesn't know the half of it!

baby2b good list. Cocktails for me too later. Wahoo!

Josie you poor thing. Ongoing pain like that really is terrible. But I bet you'll be yelling out 'bring back the toothache' 9 months or so from now!

JosieSmith1 · 24/09/2010 16:10

Welcome SpareRoomSleeper, sorry I didn't say a proper hello earlier, been a bit manic at work today to start with never mind trying to get a dentist appt! Well done for not testing yet! I go a bit mad when it's near my turn! Blush.

I think I'd prefer labour pain actually, not that I know what it actually feels like that is! But at least then you're achieving something and you know it's gonna stop. DH is working till late so I won't be looked after until then as well, and I have to go pick up horsey feed, then feed the horsey, and then go to dentist, I so wish I could just cabbage on settee when I get in

SpareRoomSleeper · 24/09/2010 15:54

Josie - I feel for you, dental pain must be one of the most painful of all pains, (excluding labour pains of course Confused )...Hope you feel better fast.

Miffles - My periods were messed up until very recently too. I would be on my period for as long as six weeks. Very frsutrating. Hope the consultant guy is good. And Just Go home! Who's gonna tell him? I won't, thats for sure Grin

Miffles · 24/09/2010 15:43

Josie - you poor thing! That is horrible. Sad I hope you manage to brush it and do the mouthwash if that is meant to help. Glad you got some JSing during the week!

SRS - that is serious self-restraint going on there! My months don't really exist - have PCOS and periods come as and when they like! Currently I seem to start spotting for a week, then AF show up proper for a week, then I have a week off and then it starts again with the spotting! So maybe a 3 week cycle, but not really sure! Hmm Seeing a consultant for the first time next month, so hoping he'll sort me out Smile

Everyone has left my office too - not peeing on sticks, though, since most of them are grandmas!! Am all on my lonesome and wondering if it would get back to the boss if I actually just went home. Have never done that before, but it seems v tempting!

JosieSmith1 · 24/09/2010 15:28

GP won't deal with dental so no antibiotics there, dentist shuts at 1pm on a friday and only sees private patients on saturdays, so have phoned NHS direct who were the only helpful ones of the lot and have given me a number for out of hours dental service and told me to get some more powerful painkillers and corsodyl mouthwash, but I have to try and brush it Confused gonna be so painful!

At least I feel like something might get sorted before Monday

SpareRoomSleeper · 24/09/2010 15:16

LOL miffles...maybe everyones off peeing on sticks or whatever Grin.....
Ive not tested yet as Im trying my best to be cool about it..a couple of months ago, my period was late, and I went abit crazy testing..only to find AF had arrived by the weekend .....And anyway, my test showed up negative when I was preggers with DD, and it was a first response Hmm...it showed up positive after a couple weeks of my period being overdue -so im going to try and not test till at least mid week next week!...How are things going with you this month??

Miffles · 24/09/2010 15:09

Welcome SpareRoomSleeper - it sounds like it could really be your month! How come you haven't tested yet???!!! Surely you have seen the crazy PIAR (or on any other object, suitable or otherwise) that goes on on this thread Grin

where is everyone today? I finally get on the internet in the day and you all bugger off?!

SpareRoomSleeper · 24/09/2010 14:28

Hello All,

Ive been in and out of the thread as Im trying my best not to get obsessed about this, although I think about it roughly every 3 minutes, and go to the loo to check if AF has arrived yet ...Blush... Im exactly one week overdue my period tomorrow, and AF shows no signs of arriving...ttc DC2, and reeeallly holding out for it this month!!

Im loving everyones positives list! Great idea..

My positives list:

  1. Finally, the house has been evaluated and is nearly on the market, so we might have a lovely new house to look forward to soon!

  2. DD's (18 months) sleep routine has been perfected; she now sleeps peacefully through the night and has a good nap during the day. She is also a joy to be around, so chatty and lovely and adorable - so note to self, be grateful for the one I have already and spend as much quality time with her as possible.

  3. I no longer sleep or need to sleep in the spare room ;-)

baby2b · 24/09/2010 12:23

My positives:

  1. Going for a major cocktail session with the girls tonight....guilt free!
  2. Starting to look a bit trimmer from healthy eating and going to the gym
  3. Enjoying jsing...including being woken at 4am this morning Shock
  4. Did I mention the cocktails?! GrinGrin

NNeed to think of some more...have a lovely weekend everyone!

Miffles · 24/09/2010 11:56

(Sorry post took ages to write as people keep wondering why I'm typing, when I normally just click. lots of x-posts there)

Miffles · 24/09/2010 11:50

Takethat - it really sounds like your doc is on the ball...are you sure it wasn't ATM in disguise?! That is the best response you could have hoped for, I think. The tests will show what's going on and then with the doc you can work out what you need to do. Make sure you remember this ones name, so you can ask for him again!

Have discovered how to override the internet block at work, so can now post during the day. Yay to skivving on a Friday!

My positives:

  1. Having been working on my MSc for last 4 years, and finished in July, I can now have dirty weekends away with DH without worrying about studying or baby or feeling sick or not drinking

  2. Can keep saving money for when I'm not earning (I earn more than DH, so we will miss my income a lot!)

  3. Can keep getting the house re-decorated without thinking I really ought to do a nursery. Our room is next on the list, since I'm not pg, so can be selfish and get that done first

4)My sister, sister-in-law, best friend and close neighbour are all due in Nov-early Feb. They can all give birth and then I will follow, gracefully, about 6-9 months later and have all the attention to myself. No need to share the limelight.

  1. The above mentioned friends/family will have passed through the first stages of super-tiredness and will be able to help me out when I need help

  2. That little bit longer to lose that extra little bit of weight

*Brassica - any sign of AF yet? Although it wouldn't be surprising if your cycle changed lenghts with the clomid Hmm

Josie - really hopes it goes ok at the dentist and they sort you out. Might give you some antibiotics rather than nasty extraction.

JosieSmith1 · 24/09/2010 11:45

Hopefully Brassica [fingers crossed emoticon] Confused that's my squeamish face!

Now that I know it's infected I will of course be milking it for all it's worth but DH has man flu so I'll be lucky if he'll look after me! Got a riding lesson in the morning so I better pull myself together! Yesterday I finished work early, dragged myself for a ride (got soaked in the process) then dozed on the settee until DH came in at 9.30pm.

Think I will be doing the same tonight!

P.S. more JSing going on this morning, think there's something in the water at my place!
