The 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended)

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Resist the lure of ovulation predictor kits, Taking Control of Your Fertility and the dreaded First Repsonse. Knowing where you are in your cycle is entirely permissible though!

Going to the doctor is permitted if you've had a stupidly long cycle but beware of the dildo-cam-scan.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

***

Although all most of these rules are well and truely broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Hello everyone, just a quick one from me. Glad to see you are all crazy well as normal :)

Didn't manage any Js on our anniversary as was just too tired. That never happens! I must be getting old :( However OV this weekend-ish, so I better get busy Grin

On iPhone which is too difficult to type on! Thanks for those that made me laugh and boo-hiss fir all the rubbish getting the rest of us down. My particular grumble is that the Garage have not fixed my car despite having it for 3 weeks now ( it was only a minor bump!) so I'm driving round in a crappy Meriva! Sorry if you have one, but it's terrible :(

JosieSmith1 · 01/10/2010 12:17

PMSL Miffles that?s the sort of thing I would do, but I would actually be thanking the deposit box! GrinBlush

Aw, sorry you?re not having a good time Eskarina but good that you?re going to GP, they will hopefully put your mind at ease

NoMore you sound like a busy lady at the moment! PMLS at your DH thinking he has super sperm, DH said that to me when we first started, seeing as he has 3 nephews and 2 neices, he reckons his whole family have super sperm! Blush

Yippee TakeThatLady, your efforts paid off Grin

Hurrah for batty old ladies Grin

Well, after hearing horror stories about having teeth out, I will probably never eat properly again! Apparently even when numbed you feel them tug it out and I?m horrendously squeamish about teeth so can?t deal with that, so unless they knock me out it?s gonna have to stay in there!

Hugs to eveyrone I?ve missed

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 01/10/2010 12:10

Haha TakeThat, yep I've got me little pinny over my full skirt and high heels on. If I'm lucky DH will buy me a washing machine for Christmas this year.

Actually decided to go down the Old Mother Hubbard route. Have spent the morning ignoring the house work and have been sewing instead. I should mention the apron is for a 3 year old's birthday present. And DH is still out so don't have to entertain him after all, just DS Grin

Good work on fooling them freshers! Grin

GrinGrin at the vision of JSer's across the land as batty old women. I bags battering people with the umbrella! (a la Monty Pythons Hells Grannies sketch)

takethatlady · 01/10/2010 10:53

Wow nomorechoc your routine sounds like that of a 1950s housewife! I hope you get some me time in there sometime this weekend - and that your DH is right about his super-sperm. They've got in there several times before so you've got every chance :)

LOL miffles at your crazy bank antics. I'm sure we've all said thank you to the cashpoint at one time or another, but that's taking it a step too far! Ah dear, miffles has got an imaginary friend, josie's got her foot in it, brassica's walking about wearing a pee-cardie, and vallinna's slagged her boss off a little too loudly. Makes me feel a lot better about creepy Steve! (Walks around with mental picture of JSers all over the country acting like batty old ladies Grin)

No less than 3 students at the first-year drinks party were stunned to discover I am a lecturer. Yip yip. That's all I was waiting for. Now I can go back to slummy-ness.

STILL no sign of frigging ovulation. CDGodKnowsWhat (after mental calculations, CD44). Hmm

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 01/10/2010 09:41

I cannae be arsed today. Had my first pilates class since before the last CP and holiday. It was so good to be active again, but I'm exhausted today and now have to walk to the supermarket with DS (and it's not close), come home entertain DH, finish sewing an apron, vacuum, wash (and dry not doubt) all the dishes, go to a friends place, come home cook dinner..... Can I just go back to bed please. Am so glad that my ov window has past as I truely can't be bothered with shagging right now.

Last night DH asked me if I could feel anything sticking in there. He was a bit 'oh (let down face)' when I told him it can take over a week for implantation to occur. I really think he thinks he has SUPER sperm and therefore I should be feeling knocked up about 10 minutes after sex. Silly man! (Ah but he's so sweet and cute too)

And of course it's started to rain! I may name change to OldMotherHubbard by the end of the day, because at this rate my cupboards are going to remain bare!

Right rant/sulk/wibble over. Have a good friday/weekend all. I'll be the one sleeping in the corner in a sober stuper. Grin

Eskarina · 01/10/2010 07:47

Sorry everyone seems down at the mo. Thanks for the hugs - as you say, not quite what I was after, but it's the best I got. I was at a school governors' meeting last night so didn't get in til 9. DH was shattered (and so was I) and I hardly got a hug hello/goodnight. We're going to stay with my parents this weekend so there's no chance of any JS - we wouldn't dare!
Also, whilst I seem to have had my period last weekend, it's gone back to the slow drip that I had in the fortnight before. That means I've been bleeding, just a little bit, for nearly 3 weeks now. That's not right is it? I'm going to give it til monday then try to get an appointment with the GP.

Sorry I'm so grumpy at the momeny. Hope everyone has a good, exciting weekend coming up.

Miffles · 30/09/2010 18:20

Not really, Josie, but that may be because I'm knackered.

I managed to make the whole of Lloyds bank think I'm bonkers. Went to pay my pay cheque in, and filled in the slip and the envelope. Was about to post it through the post box things inside the bank - deposit slot thing. Heard some scuffling behind the wall it is in, so when I opened up the flap, I looked in and saw a lady collecting the envelopes. So i dropped mine in and said "Thank you!". She smiled at me and said "No problem". But of course no one else in the bank saw or heard her. To them, I was putting my deposit in the drop box and thanking it!! Hmm I felt like turning round and saying "there was a lady there! I was thanking the lady!"

Sigh.

JosieSmith1 · 30/09/2010 16:59

Oh dear we all seem to be having bad days today! What with Brassica's clothes having a golden shower, TakeThat's stalker and Vallinna's comments about her boss! I put my foot in it today with a lady at work who is dating someone from another office, who may/may not be cheating on her Shock we're not sure yet, anyway, someone else (are you confused yet Grin) emailed me today asking if the man in question was leaving work to live with his mother down south as his father had died. Not knowing, I tried to find out discreetly by asking the lady's friend, who promptly asked lady in question Shock, turns out his dad died years ago, so not sure what's going on. Either way, lady is annoyed at me, annoyed at other lady who originally emailed me, so have sent a very apologetic message to first lady.

Does that make sense?

vallinnapod · 30/09/2010 16:08

Oh takethat - I feel your pain.

In my last job I forgot I had accepted our team secretary as a 'friend' and posted something about how much of a tosser are boss was (it was all true Wink) and she commented something along the lines of 'Ohh....I promise not to tell'.....twat. Still marginally less embarrassing then your pseudo-stalker! What with Brassica and the pee it really is a day for the JShaggers! I am worried about what I may do....although yesterday I walked in on a bloke having a wee (he'd left the door unlocked...!) and worked out mid-arvo I had my knickers on inside out...!

takethatlady · 30/09/2010 15:34

Yes... interesting ... I reckon there's a higher ratio of boy-girl twins on IVF than conceived naturally because quite a lot of the latter will be identical. The IVF twins are usually from several embryos beint used in the same cycle, aren't they?

PMSL brassica. I'm sure no-one will notice a bit of pee on you Grin

I am Blush and Biscuit and a bit Envy (sick-feeling emoticon, not envy) because today I posted on my facebook page, 'Takethatlady wore a slutty dress, knee-high boots and shed loads of make-up today. Still the students can spot my ancientness a mile off'. As I only have people I know on FB and not randoms, and as I have the highest privacy settings possible for anyone but friends, I thought this would be fine. Except I forgot that I accepted (after pestering) the old and weird computer guy from my old job last week and couldn't work out how to limit my profile from him. He has now written 'Now I'm stuck with the image of you in a slutty dress, knee-high boots and shed loads of make-up!'
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew.

Needless to say, he is now on limited profile and I am thinking of blocking him.

I am an idiot!

vallinnapod · 30/09/2010 15:17

Tres interesting NMCB. I have also noticed that where IVF results in twins they are nearly all boy/girl.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 30/09/2010 14:07

Hmm interesting.

(Okay so maybe goes against thread ethics, but as some of you may end up going down this route, why not?)

Truffkin · 30/09/2010 12:56

Brassica PMSL at POAC debacle, hope you sort it out! I've had a strange week in the bodily function department. As you know, ERTD arrived unceremoniously early on Sunday and pissed me right off. Then Monday was light / spotting, seemed to have stopped. Tuesday again bit of spotting but stopped again by evening and evening JSing didn;t get it going properly. Yesterday and today, nothing at all. I'm not sure how I feel about this, I mean if my body just decides on 2 1/2 day very light periods with no pains then great but if it means something's not working....Confused

So I started temping yesterday and will see how that goes for a couple of months before I let the mental in too far. At least with very short periods I can JS pretty much anytime with no distractions!

Vallinna please you can get your tests and bloods done at the GP, one less cost for you to account for

Esk even though I know that's not the kind of attention you were after Wink hope DH gets the message soon

Josie the wisdom tooth situation rumbles on then, it feels like you've been suffering for ages so goodness knows what it must feel like when you're actually going through it! Hope the drugs kick in so you can enjoy your food and drink-a-thon at the weekend.

In other news we did have a good day yesterday as we let our flat out for the full asking price and our landlord agreed to do a couple of things in the place we are living without upping the rent we're paying. We went on a date night to celebrate (well, and I did have a voucher for BOGOF at Pizza Express!!)

Hope everyone's Thursdays are progressing nicely. Almost at the weekend ladies, it's just over the brow of that next hill Grin

vallinnapod · 30/09/2010 12:54

Eurgh!! Brassica's a smelly tramp Wink

BrassicaBabe · 30/09/2010 12:35

Bugger! I just managed to pee on my cardigan! Hmm Clearly the POAS addiction has gone too far.

My waterfall cardigan had just had a golden shower . HmmShock

Right, I'm back, ready to stop moping and back on top of things. Grin

I've put on about 4lbs during AF/2WW madness. It's time to put down the carbs and get back on the scales. Which means I've got about 10lbs I want to lose now instead of 6! But the fridge is now full of healthy things and I'm ready for a new day!

Blime we've all had a rough ride recently havne't we.

Well done on the NHS tests vallinna. Although it should have been a no-brainer that the NHS would cover it shouldn't it! Hmm

JosieSmith1 · 30/09/2010 09:30

Aw Eskarina (hugs). I know how you feel.

I was a bit, yeah whatever, about it last cycle but making a real effort this cycle so I'll probably be mad and convinced this time round. Sad

Not much to report here, no SWI last night as we were both so tired we just fell straight asleep. But I have a cunning plan ? I am going to set half a job Harry a challenge every day (todays is to do the dishes, but also put them away and clean the draining board) and if he figures out all of what I want him to do, then I will repay him Wink Plus it will take my mind off where I am in cycle

Hope everyone's ok

Eskarina · 29/09/2010 22:21

All quiet over here. It seems like a long long week at work this week. Very little JS going on over here. We hardly seem to be in the house at the same time. It's too early to be thinking about ov yet, but some attention would be nice!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 29/09/2010 21:47

HTK and Milano think I'll join you on the apathy bus. Despite my joy at apparent earlier than usual ov, I just don't know how much I really care to lose it again. It doesn't help that I over ate on holiday and now look about 4 months pg. GAH.

takethatlady · 29/09/2010 21:43

People really shouldn't be putting BFP on the side of vans. We'll crash!

Hugs hugs hugs vallinna didn't think you'd taken offence - just wanted to make sure Smile

Just a quick one - off for a JS sesh. If I can keep my eyes open. Or maybe even if not...

Miffles · 29/09/2010 20:52

V V quickly, as meant to be having a date night with DH....but had to share...

Drove past a lorry today with "BFP Wholesale" on the side!!! I wanted to pull it over and get a BFP for all of us!!

Instead got the BOFOF on FR from Boots.

Nearly the same.

Still on AF, so unlikely.

Hmm
vallinnapod · 29/09/2010 20:49

Oh takethat I took no offence what so ever! Sorry it came across that way ((hugs)) Grin I don't care if people have been trying a month or a year, it's shitty when it doesn't happen how and when you want it to!

Brassica sorry about the anticipation anxiety...I don't really know what to suggest. I would say try and relax etc but I'm the worst person ever.

Had a good docs call today (GP that is, all fertility doctors are the devil Grin) They will do my STD screening and blood tests and repeat my hormone bloods....ahhh, so glad I have been paying my taxes now!

milanomum · 29/09/2010 20:05

HTK that might explain my apathy this cycle (minus the Clomid of course) but I too was convinced last cycle that it was 'the one'... meh.

HarderToKidnap · 29/09/2010 16:50

Brass, totally feel your pain. After the madness of last month I seriously thought about trying to put off TTC as it was just doing my head in.

Do you think it is because last cycle is the first time you were convinced it was going to happen? Before, you were spotting mid-cycle, then to the docs, investigations, and now finally your are on Clomid and ready to go, and you thought it would really happen last month? I know last month I really really thought I was pregnant and my desperation to get this confirmed let to mental madness and early testing. I mean I was CONVINCED and not in a calm serene "I KNOW I am, let's just wait for a BFP" but in a mental wild-eyed, mouth-frothy "PASS me that motherfuckingfirstresponse I know I'm pregnant IAMAIAMAIAMAIAMMM!!!!" and it was WEIRD.

I think a mental month like that can be excused under the circs. If you are like me you will be so worn out form last cycle that this one will be a bit like, yeah, whatevs.

COPIOUS EWCM this morning. Three days after suspected OV. None since though. Weird body.

takethatlady · 29/09/2010 14:41

Well my DH was one of them Wink.

Just met my advisees. They're all really sweet, and split between the ones who say the came to this uni to do English because they are ambitious and wanted to be at the best place (debatable Grin) and the ones who came because people were nice to them on the open day :)

The meeting was meant to last an hour. I managed 30 minutes. What am I meant to say except 'My name is TakeThatLady, I'm your advisor. Tell me a bit about yourselves and why chose to study English Lit at the University of Take That'? Gave them all the info they needed, failed to answer their questions (a student who had transferred from law knew all the answers, luckily Grin), and buggered off. One of them told me she saw a dead rabbit, which she seemed pleased about.

brassica you'll be okay. Is there something you can throw yourself into like work? I know work is a pain in the arse but that's what I'm trying to do. Keeping myself on a TV/work/social life timetable and trying to focus on the next thing in my calendar every day rather than what cycle day I'm on. Taking a monumental effort though. Especially as today I was making a list of stupid professional development courses I've got to do this year and came across 'Baby!' written on April 24th (when I would have been due). Then all I could think was stuff like 'I'd have been doing this course when I was 8 months pregnant, right before maternity leave' etc. I've scribbled it out. It's Easter Sunday so I may book a weekend away then so the date is replaced by something nice.

Anyway, back to making 18-year-olds think I'm an old nerdy weirdo with not a lot to say for myself.
