The 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended)

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Resist the lure of ovulation predictor kits, Taking Control of Your Fertility and the dreaded First Repsonse. Knowing where you are in your cycle is entirely permissible though!

Going to the doctor is permitted if you've had a stupidly long cycle but beware of the dildo-cam-scan.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

***

Although all most of these rules are well and truely broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Hi guys,

Thanks for all of your lovely warm welcomes, I hope you are all having fun weekends.

Seemingly this will just be a flying visit from me- Nelly and Miffles you were right. Despite my battered ovaries it certainly was possible for me to get pg straight away. After a gentle nudge from mother I bought a twin pack of tests this morning while out shopping, POAS this afternoon fully expecting a negative (as they were crappy tests and it wasn't my first wee of the day), and nearly died when two bloody lines appeared! B2B, it seems your finger crossing did the trick so thank you very much Grin

Just to double check I've done the second test after I got home and got the same result again! So I hope some of my amazing luck rubs off on you guys, I'm a bit gutted not to have been here to join in the fun for longer.

Good luck guys.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 03/10/2010 15:11

Hello Kittenface good to see you decided to join us in the madness Grin also hello to Nicki and Hallie, I'm busy pigging out on chips (sorry sorry, crisps) and dip, feel free to help yourself.

Nervous Voldemort (hehe I'm not a HP fan either, so don't care if I name him)

Miffles Hurrah for your enjoyable afternoon.

Well I thought I was doing well being nonchalant (sp?) about this 2WW, then I read an email from my sister saying she and her boyfriend might be over this way in April. All I could think (apart from Yay) was I should have been 9 months or 8 months pg by that time and she could have timed it to be over for brand new babyness Sad [sigh]. still shall on mope for a few more minutes, slap myself with a kipper and eat some more chips.

Poor DH after I sex pested him into a rare morning shag today I then told him we won't know anything for at least a week (period due next Sat). The poor boy, he said it's going to be a long week! I think he's getting worse than me!

The sunshine has actuall come out here. after I've traipzed around town of course, but it's lovely none the less.

nicki1978 · 03/10/2010 11:56

Hi All,

We got married last September and decided to wait about a year or so before trying for a family so we just did lots of practicing instead, lol.

With a couple of close friends recently had babies its made us very broody and so we decided a couple of weeks ago to start trying for a family and am sooooo excited.

Am already looking for baby related paraphanalia, whilst DH is enjoying the extra js, lol x

As I've been on the contraceptive patch for so long I'm not sure what length my natural cycle is. With the patch it has been a forced 21day cycle not sure if I'll continue on a 21day cycle or be longer. If I do stay on 21 days my first day of bleed should be on or around 20th Oct, but we decided we'd better wait until at least end of October before we do a test.

Nic xx

baby2b · 03/10/2010 11:20

My DH took a little persauding Brassica. I used my shag cape powers to the max this week though and managed it about nine times. [sore knees emoticon] Grin

Btw, the woman that was managing three times a day wasn't really 'just shagging'. Her partner and her were just having quick ten minute sessions morning, afternoon and evening {sore bits emoticon}! My DH lasts longer the more we js, so not sure how this works?!

I don't know that much about clomid, but I there is a thread somewhere about spotting on clomid and I think it said it was 'normal'. Keep that shag cape busy just in case.

Right, going for a walk to try and clear my head. Though its starting to pee down here too.

Hungover.com

Anyone get up to anything exciting last night?

BrassicaBabe · 03/10/2010 09:43

Helllooooo!! Shite weather isn't it! It's lashing it down here.

Going to look at our new puppy this afternoon. She's about 4 weeks now and we're getting her at 7 weeks. V excited! Grin Babies?! Who needs them Wink

I had a friend who reported that the labrador had put his head on her leg while they were shagging nervous [yuck emoticon!]

We're also going to be joining you in the "floor shagging" b2b. We've got an exchange student coming to stay for the next fortnight from tomorrow. DH really isn't a fan of shagging when there is someone else in the house Hmm Let's hope he gets over that if I ever get a BFP otherwise it will be a dry 18+ years GrinShock

Welcome kitten. Congrats for de-lurking. Well done on our misery of last week not putting you off from joining us! Grin

Hello Hallie, yep, I second the massive disappointment on first cycle of clomid. Sad What did your progesterone test level say? Do you have enough pills to increase to 100mg yourself? If youd did not have a test though I'd avoid that. I've read somewhere that Clomid has a cumulative effect too and for some it takes several months at the same dose to work. (The 'tinter-web is a dangerous place! Grin)

I think I might drag my arse to church this morning. I'm a lazy trout and don't often go, but I'm trying to get into the habit of going more often. Hey-ho, it's that or the ironing Grin

Managing to JS. But I've got light bleeding/spotting on CD8 and now 9. Must be a side effect of the increased clomid. But I'm not sure if it's a show stopper or not SadHmm

OP posts:
baby2b · 02/10/2010 22:15

p.s. Hallie pull up a chair, pour yourself a large glass of your favoured tipple and toast to joining the just shaggers (who aren't really just shagging, but trying to sound casual about it) :)

baby2b · 02/10/2010 22:12

Thanks miffles, will keep jsing regardless.
Nervous I think its the laughing that makes this thread great. I do like a bit of stealth jsing as it adds to the excitement...though it will be nice to be back in my bed though Grin

Welcome to our crazy world Kitten. Fingers crossed that you get first month lucky :)

Look forward to hearing everyones weekend exploits! I had a couple of glasses of champers when out for a meal tonight. Still lving by the 'this could be the last time for nine months' moto Wink

NervousNelly · 02/10/2010 19:57

baby2b the idea of you having sex on the floor really made me chuckle! Is that wrong?? I have to confess that both of us get a bit of a kick out of stealth-sex Grin and I'm sure the giggling and "ssshhh"-ing is far more of a give away! Must have been the day for cats blatantly observing sex - it's a bit creepy but I have to say we've learnt to ignore it, do you think we'd be the same if we had a toddler? Shock

kitten welcome to the madhouse thread for totally sane people who are just seeing what happens Hmm. It's of course possible you are pg already, good luck! As I understand it, you ovulate from alternate ovaries each month? So you probably technically only need one working one? (feel free to ignore me, I'm a bit ignorant of the technicalities!)

miffles sounds like a good afternoon, and well done for being charitable and not Envy. I'm not a big HP fan - who shall not be named? Confused

Welcome back hallie. Do you not ovulate whilst on the pill? I always thought you did ovulate, but that implantation couldn't (in theory) occur? But see ^^ for my ignorance!

Had a nice day after I finally got up, hope everyone is having a nice weekend! Am hoping for some more JS tonight - twice in one day woo hoo!

HallieGirl · 02/10/2010 16:51

Hi Ladies

Have also been catching up on the thread and thought I would give you an update - if any one can remember sorry don't post much! Well now been on Clomid for a month and it didn't work :( Must admit I was very disapointed, you read so many positve stories about Clomid on here and the doctor seemed really confident that it would work - oh well round 2.

Also a bit annoyed as I wanted to ask the doctor to put up my dose to 100mg, but he is on holiday (he has already been off Jan-June and then 3 weeks in August and now again)! Not sure that there is much point taking 50mg again when it didn't work before?

Picking up on Vannilla's comment that she hasn't ovulated since the early 90's - I worked out that I last ovulated in March 1996 (as on the pill) - which is kind of depressing!

Miffles · 02/10/2010 16:49

Welcome Kitten. It is certainly possible for you to be pg already. Yay for you Grin but don't mind us if we're all a bit Envy (that face always makes me think of HeWhoShallNotBeNamed from Harry Potter!)

Went to my sis-in-law's baby shower this afternoon. Good fun - though feel sick from too many cakes. Trouble with going straight from work, and starving, and olny refined sugar with which to sustain myself!

Was surprised how much I enjoyed it and didn't feel jealous. She is so sweet and had been trying for over a year. When I left, she hugged me and told me she'd throw me a baby shower soon. So lovely, cos she knew we've got some problems, and was sensitive to how I may be feeling. :)

Right - DH out playing rugby, I'm going to curl up and watch Slumdog Millionaire.

Oh - Baby2b - I don't see why it'd be bad at all. At least you know you're ov'ing, so you're able to JS. I think you'll find your period is later than normal, but you're still in with a good chance.

KittenFace · 02/10/2010 16:16

Hi all,

Another lurker here Blush. I've spent my Saturday afternoon reading this mammoth thread following the advice of somebody that replied to a thread of mine, and it's literally made me lol more than once. I'd like to join you all on your journies.

So basically DH & I got married about 6 weeks ago and have been JSing ever since (not continuously, obviously), which is probably the best way to start TTC, right? Anyway, I've never really paid much attention to AF but there's never much devation between a calendar month between periods. My last CD1 was 21st Aug, which is obviously ages ago. I've ordered some cheapo tests online so will POAS at some time next week, but surely it's unusual to happen so soon? Especially as I had to have half an ovary removed due to a recurring, massive ovarian cyst about ten years ago.

Anyway, enough waffling from me, good luck everyone and get shagging!

baby2b · 02/10/2010 14:36

I don't know anything about pant snot I'm afraid...sorry! My conception knowledge still hasn't gone past peeing on OPKs and then jsing like crazy!

nickelbabe · 02/10/2010 14:00

haven't done it since last weekend (too tired, too busy, etc etc). That's not a moan! Grin

talk to me about pant snot - mine normally lasts 2-3 days, only lasted 1 day this month....

baby2b · 02/10/2010 13:36

Hello, just having a catch up on the threads. It's been all go on here. Grin I need to try and get on here more often...stupid work!

I am due to ovulate this weekend, but have friends staying. Have managed to stealth js twice by doing it on the floor. BlushYou would think we were naughty teenagers not a married couple! Nearly got caught the second time as the cat pushed the door open at the crucial point!

Rule breaking alert Shock I am ovulating really late this month (cd18 or cd19) out of a 28 day cycle. Normally 14 days like clockwork. Is this a bad thing for our chances?

Hope everyone is having a good weekend :)

NervousNelly · 02/10/2010 09:53

Morning all! Also on iPhone but only cos I can't be arsed getting up Blush. had some very lovely Saturday morning JS, though was a bit perturbed to discover the cat had jumped on the bed half way through and was curled up sleeping Shock. Perv... Now drinking a very nice latte OH made me. He is off cycling, and I'm wondering why on earth we'd want kids, as they'd get right in the way of this kind of Saturday morning Hmm. I think I'm joking? But on the other hand, it's why I'm on the JS thread in the first place. We are just seeing what happens ( though I should add we are of course totally ok with the potential BFP outcome, and would be fully committed to parenthood!)

Didn't mean for that to be so serious, sorry! Best get out of bed and stop musing :)

BrassicaBabe · 02/10/2010 09:36

3 times a day?! It could be the new fad weight loss programme! Hoe do they find time to eat?!

I've finished peeing on inanimate objects Grin

Going to have to google stress levels and progesterone now miffles

josie often tooth extraction is much more about leverage the pulling. There will be no "foot on chest". Grin

posting from a friends house after a boozy night out on iPhone so being brief so now x

OP posts:
vallinnapod · 01/10/2010 22:09

3 times a day Confused In the nicest possible way we struggle with 3 times a week what with work, social life and the need to eat and sleep. Does this make us old?!

DH is away so watching TV and eating phish food!

Bit disappointed with Strictly...but then it does take a while to get into these things. LOVE LOVE LOVE it takes two during the week.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 01/10/2010 21:56

Miffles no shagging here tonight I'm quite sure and oddly happy about. As I said this morning am to tired. The shagging I had earlier this week however was very enjoyable and totally stress free. It really was just luck that it occured at ov time. Didn't do half the things on my list today as I am actually a lazy bisum (and proud of it).

As for the rest of the stress in my life I/we (me and DH) are tackling things one at a time. DH does suffer from an anxiety disorder which means that things will never be as straight forward as they could be, but things could (and have) been a whole lot worse.

Oh my goodness, Gary Lineker is dancing in the rain to it's raining men. I'm now very disturbed!

Right off to join Nervous googling winning lotto Grin

NervousNelly · 01/10/2010 21:42

Oooh miffles I hope I didn't mis-represent my dismay?! I was genuinely annoyed that I missed a lovely romantic anniversary shag Grin or should that be :(. I'm actually really quite chilled about the actual sex part! I can hand on heart say that when we're having sex I am only ever thinking about one thing, and it's not children Wink. I'm only on my second cycle of trying, so I do keep an eye on when I'm supposed to be OV'ing, but the JS is most definitely not effort Grin

Fire is on, the only good thing about bad weather! About to have a Gu pudding (nothing at ALL to do with the ramekins!!) and have had some lovely red wine. AAAHHHHHHHH. Now on Josie's advise, I am off to Google "how to win the lottery without buying a ticket" to see if this principle works!

milanomum · 01/10/2010 21:09

Much lolage at the lady in the bank and old mother hubbard.

miffles jacket potatoes rock. yum yum.

I have sore boobs today. But I am pretty sure i ovd last Sunday. What's that about? It took them a week to catch up or something...normally I get them the day after ov. Maybe it's non-implantation (boo)or maybe it's implantation (yey) or maybe it's late ov (boo) or maybe ... oh I feckin give up.

3 x a day??!!! Do they have no life? Hmm

Miffles · 01/10/2010 19:16

You guys crack me up! I too am imagining us all as batty women, around the country. Most of us out terrorising the general public, but Brassica put in a home for pee-ing on random items of clothing! Grin

Got my sisters and their DH's coming for dinner tonight. Had thought to do something for them, but life happened instead. So have stuck jacket pototoes in the oven and tuna and baked beans. It's the company that counts, isn't it?!

Really glad your tooth has settled down Josie - you can now enjoy your fun weekend.

Eskarina and Nelly and NMCB - give your self some time off. ATM is forever telling us that there aren't just a few days when you can conceive, so take a chill pill. The stress of making yourself JS would probably be counterproductive. I think stress reduces progesterone, so delays ovulation, or prevents a sticky bean or something. Hmm

However, to give balance - has anyone else read the thread about JSing 3x a day?!? Confused (that is my face if I tried to do it 3 times a day!!)

Hope everyone has a good friday night, out of this disgusting weather.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 01/10/2010 18:46

Oh Josie if only excessive googling could cure everything else! We'd have nothing left to moan about (baby at first google anyone?) Grin

JosieSmith1 · 01/10/2010 17:01

Just have to add - I can bite!!!!! GrinGrinGrin

I have scared myself silly googling tooth extraction and miraculously cured myself!!! I can put my left teeth together and the pressure feels sooooo good. I will be eating something extra yummy tonight!

Think celebratory JS is in need tonight Grin

JosieSmith1 · 01/10/2010 16:24

Thanks TakeThatLady, I have a feeling it's one of those things that takes ages to pluck up the courage to do, but then when it's done you think 'was that it!' Hope so anyway. I'm just a wimp when it comes to teeth! You never know, they might sort themselves out before that becomes necessary anyway.

Went to the yard on lunch break with DH and asked if he got my note this morning about doing the housework and being, ahem, rewarded Wink for it and he liked the idea very much, then told me to stop talking about it otherwise he wouldn't be able to get out of the car ShockBlush

At least it works! Grin

takethatlady · 01/10/2010 14:50

Ha ha. We have a Micra which is nearly as bad. It's the car they take the piss out of in those crap adverts about how British people can't haggle. Even DH looks like a batty old lady in it!

eskarina I think a trip to the doctor's office is definitely in order. If you've got something to complain about (which you have) it seems easier to get them to look into your fertility, etc, than it would be otherwise. At least that was my experience.

josie I had teeth out as a teenager and although you can hear the crack Shock it really isn't that bad. It's over in a second. It's way better than having it done under general anaesthetic as long as you don't try to eat a hot dog afterwards, while half your face is still numb Blush

Where has brassica gone? She just peed on her cardigan and went MIA ... I hope she's not been arrested, or put in a home Grin

Good luck with the ovulation JSing nervous
