Have namechanged because people in RL know who I am on here and I don't want this to be public knowledge :)
I'm not ttc, and have only used a pregnancy test once, 10yrs ago!
My period is 3 days late, I didn't really think I could be pregnant, am not on the pill but have used contraception. I just tested to rule it out before I considered other reasons for the missing period.

The test was a clearblue one, I have no idea how reliable they are. I read it after 5 mins, it says in the leaflet you can read it up to 10 so it was in time. I have the stupidest thread thin vertical line on the cross part. It doesn't look anything like the example pictures in the leaflet and I'm baffled Confused

I reckoned someone here would definitely know what was going on and could help before I go spend even more money on tests!

Have taken a pic is here

Please help, am slightly freaking out that it could be positive Blush

BythewayItsStillMe · 03/09/2010 21:24

I'm intrigued by the blue dye v pink dye... does that make a difference...?
I'm seeing those little sticks in a whole different light now! Grin
I usually just go for whichever is cheapest, now I have to look at the dye colour too!? Grin

good luck!

secretperson10 · 02/09/2010 21:41

No pain at all, which in itself is unusal, heavy long and painful periods are the usual here.

I think I'm going to have to keep testing then arn't I. I may test in a week, if nothing else happens, and just keep an eye out for pain etc to be on the safe side?

It's possible, SP, to have an implantation bleed 3 weeks after ovulating.

You could be pregnant in that case, however it is unusual not to have a positive test at this stage. Many people do have a lot of negs before they get a positive, though and it can indeed take an extra week or two depending on how much HCG is being produced.

So I still think pg is the most likely cause.

However it's worth looking into ectopic. Have you had any sort of pain? Was the bleed a sort of browny/pinky colour or normal red?

secretperson10 · 02/09/2010 21:07

Thanks FA, implantation did occur to me but I think it's too late for that, last time I had sex was about 3 weeks ago now.

I'm really not sure it's pregnancy, I have no idea what could be causing it though, my periods have always been fairly reliable, this is all so strange and worrying.

OP posts:
Flighttattendant · 02/09/2010 20:41

Plus also slight possibility of ectopic as QS said.

I don't know much about that side of things...I would be going with implantation in the absence of any pain.

Flighttattendant · 02/09/2010 20:39

That could have been implantation bleeding...you might want to test again in a few days.

Can I ask your timeline, I mean when conception would have occurred this last few weeks, if it did actually?

Usually you would have a positive test within 2 weeks or so of the last time you had sex.

Hi again all, am looking for some more advice if anyone is still interested!
This morning I thought my period had finally turned up breathed a sigh of relief and thought that was that. But now it's stopped, it was the shortest period ever.
I have NO idea what's going on with me, should I be worried, going to the Dr?

clearblue tests are evil. I had many like that and they were negatives. I'll never use a blue dye test again. too unreliable.

When I called the help-line the useless woman on the other end said it was probably because I was breastfeeding. What a load of rubbish.

Always go for pink dye.

broodywantcoilout · 01/09/2010 19:21

looks positive to me, what result did you get today? hope its 1 u want

cowboylover · 01/09/2010 18:52

Well if it makes you feel better maybe it has just gone AWOL?

Mine did last month so went to see the nurse and a very clever MNeter said it happens sometimes and in the average woman once every 3 to 5 years so maybe it was that.

Let us know x

QueeferSutherland · 01/09/2010 09:25

I had lots of false -ves when I had an ectopic pregnancy.

Keep an eye out for light bleeding, and abdo/shoulder pain, op.

x

BythewayItsStillMe · 01/09/2010 09:18

Crikey, they sound rubbish!
Don't think I've ever used a clearblue test. Probably cos I always buy the own brand cheaper ones!

Hope you get a more conclusive answer soon!

StormyTeapot · 01/09/2010 09:12

I had the exact same result with a clearblue - and I wasn't pregnant. I read somewhere that if the line making up the positive cross is only thin and to one side then it is an evaporation line.

I'd never buy a clearblue 'cross' type test again.

secretperson10 · 01/09/2010 09:12

I have definitely looked everywhere for it Grin

No other obvious reasons for it going awol, no stress or illness or any changes in my life at all really.

Dates are definitely right I keep a diary, I'm not always bang on date, but without fail a day either side. So at the least I'm now 4days late.
Is quite baffling.

OP posts:
BythewayItsStillMe · 01/09/2010 08:55

Have you looked everywhere for it!? Down the side of the sofa? Everything ends up down there! Grin
Seriously though, have you been stressed or ill or anything?

You sure you've got your dates right?
Are you usually bang on time?

secretperson10 · 01/09/2010 08:33

Haven't tested again today, will wait a few days, still no period though! What else could make it go missing? Any ideas?

OP posts:
BythewayItsStillMe · 01/09/2010 07:47

So......?

Have you retested yet!? Grin

Nemofish · 31/08/2010 20:41

Have you checked your other bag? Maybe your period is in there... Grin

Blimey clear blue wasn't very clear was it! Confused

hmmSleep · 31/08/2010 09:26

Gladf you're ok with that secretperson, would still do another test in a few days to be sure though.

secretperson10 · 31/08/2010 09:14

Yes little is fine with me! I will def report it to CB. I am wondering where my period is though. It is very odd for it to be so late, so I am going to keep an eye on it just incase.

OP posts:
LittleSilver · 31/08/2010 07:59

Is that OK with you? Are you alright?

Def report it to CB, honestly, those tests are pants!

secretperson10 · 31/08/2010 07:25

Ok ladies, the test this morning says negative. I have no idea what was going on with the clear blue one. Still no sign on my period though so I'll be keeping an eye on it.
Thanks for all your help
