Welcome to our new thread where everyone's welcome. Sit back with your favourite drink and get all those 'suspicious' symptoms off your chest including the ever popular suspicious boob (sb).

If you're squeamish this may not be the thread for you, as this thread is dedicated to those with strange goings on where no symptom is TMI.

Good luck to us all for that elusive BFP to arrive soon. Who'll be the first to get one?

Hi Radley,

Thanks for your reply. Good luck for Monday, I hope you get some concrete answers, so sorry you've had lots of MCs, I've had one and that was bad enough so I really feel for you.

I'm so jealous of you jetting off on holiday! I'm so sick of being constantly cold! I know lots of people who've got a bfp after a holiday so hopefully it will do the trick!

Have a fantastic time!

I've been feeling quite sick and DH noticed yesterday that my nipples have gone dark (so I'm not imagining that!). AF due today, am going to hold out till tomorrow to test. AF will arrive now and make me look like an idiot, I know it!

X

Hi Munki welcome back. Missed you. It's been so quiet on here of late everyone's disappeared or possibly in hiding Hmm I think the boob thing can just be period related but don't want to dash your hopes and am keeping my fingers crossed for you. We're due a couple of exciting BFPs on here!! As far as the smear goes I don't think they would be able to tell if you were pregnant especially only a few weeks gone but I may be wrong. I'm sure someone will be along to either confirm that or shoot me down!! Grin

I'm going to the miscarriage clinic on Monday for the results of my hormone level tests and DH and my genetic tests so hoping all goes ok. Oddly enough I'm not nervous!! AF is due on 13th which is the day after I go to Cuba so am hoping either the witch does the decent thing and comes on time or I get a BFP, so i can enjoy the cocktails, either way I'm not holding my breath! Mind you if the alcohol is as watered down as it was in Dominican Republic I could give them to my 2 year old DS without worrying it'd affect him so i should be ok!! I just hope we can get out of our driveway next Saturday as we're currently snowed in with around 8" Oh what joy!! Yesterday it was -16c at 7am. I've never known it that cold in Leeds, well not that I remember anyway.

WorkingLate I agree with Munki in that it is very unlikely that you are pregnant if you're taking the pill correctly with no antibiotics diarrhoea sickness etc. However it is very occasionally possible, my sister got pregnant this way and didn't know until she was 3-4 months gone. If you're unsure go to the drs, that's what they're there for and if they're good they'll be happy to put your mind at ease.

If I don't post again before I go away the I wish you all a very happy, BFP filled, Christmas xxx

Hi Workinglate,

It's very unlikely you're pregnant if you've been taking your pills correctly but breakthrough bleeding's not unusual, and if it was brown it could be old period blood. Might be worth making an appointment with your GP just to be sure but I'm sure its nothing!

And hello to the rest of you, I hope you're all ok. I've been away for a bit, am trying not to obsess about ttc as I've really been stressing, cried last month when af arrived. Anyway, af is due on sat and I don't feel particularly pregnant but my boobs have felt very swollen and sore for about half an hour, today and on Tues evening. Like I remember it feeling like when my milk came in after having my daughter, just not as humungous. Is this normal before AF? I don't even know what's normal any more.

Oh and I had a smear test today, they'd have been able to tell if I was PG wouldn't they? The nurse didn't say anything so should I write this month off and move on? But then the boobs...

Any advice?
Ta xx

Workinglate · 29/11/2010 10:27

Feel a bit silly posting here but I just don't know who else to ask! Need a bit of advice. I am not TTC - am on the pill. But I have just had a couple of days of unexpected bleeding - not like normal period, darker and only a little bit of it.

Anyway, I was trying to find out what this might be online and came across implantation bleeding - sounds really similar to what I had, but I am probably just being silly, right? I mean, I haven't missed any pills, haven't been ill . . .

I suppose I should do a test if I feel unsure, but I don't even know how soon I would be able to get a true result - can anyone give me a bit of sage advice?

bossyboop · 29/11/2010 10:01

Wow cuba sounds amazing, hope you all have a great time. From what ive read radley it seems after a chem you can bleed a couple of times due to leftovers from the first bleed, it was very similar to the first one so I expect it was that. Im having a month off, I think its a good idea to get myself back to normal and also to relax over xmas instead of avoiding alcohol only to end up with bfn anyway due to cycle being out of sync after chem. Plus couldnt stand people speculating over why im not drinking, its all going to be a surprise. Ive not spoken to my friend since, she hasnt been round to boast about bfp news at least so no idea whats happening with her, ttc at the same time as someone you know is awful.

Hi all sorry I disappeared again but been super busy.

Shelleylou If you're reading the thread still then I'm really so very sorry. I hope I didn't offend you. I did my usual thing and assumed you'd decided enough was enough without waiting to find out the full circumstances. I hope you'll forgive me. I hope you and your little one have a truely fabulous Christmas and future together. It sounds like you've got a great support network around you that'll help you through everything. I'm truely sorry if I stumbled in with my big foot in my even bigger mouth again!!

Well AF came again this month but I was glad as it was only a 28 day cycle this time not a 70++ day one!! I'm looking on the bright side as no BFP this month means lots of festive/holiday boozing!! Grin I'm a very lucky girl, DH and I went to look at holidays for next year but we found such an amazing deal that we're now going 12th-27th December to Cuba Grin That means with a BFN lots of cocktails and sunbathing. I've got a good feeling that I may get a Christmas BFP because it usually happens when you relax and boy will I be relaxing after this past year! I figure the sunshine will help with the TTC and thankfully my mum's coming too and she'll have DS in her room so lots of privacy!! It may all just be wishful thinking but I'm not going to think about TTC just relax and hopefully bring home a lovely Cuban surprise.

Hope everyone's ok as it seems very quite of late.

Bossy CD21 sounds very early do you think it could be spotting or have you ever bled that early before? Hope you're doing well after last month. I'm sorry to hear you're friend was so unhelpful. Is she normally a me, me, me type of friend or do you think it was possible she just didn't know what to say so tried to empathise but it came across as insensitive? I hope you're doing well and are looking forward to either celebratory orange juice or a bloomin' good knees up and the hangover(s) from hell!!

Ilovemarmite79 I agree with the retesting on Sunday and wish you lots of luck. Do come back and let us know. I hope you get a bfp but if it is a bfn only you can decide whether or not to go to drs. Sorry that's not much help but you know your body better than anyone. My drs advice was simply 'If you're pregnant you're pregnant, just wait and see'!! I ended up having a super long cycle of 70++ days. Normally I'm very regular 28-30 day cycle but have had a couple of lengthy ones recently. I was so frustrated as I had every symptom going and was sure I was pregnant but was sadly very wrong. Good luck.

Welcome to all newbies and good luck to everyone new and 'well established'.

my cycle is all over the place since the chem last time, cd21 the spotting started, dont know if its a real period or what. Guess that leaves me 1 more cycle before xmas and at least if not theres always wine for the festive season.

Ilovemarmite79 · 19/11/2010 19:22

well, my AF is 4 days late. I know I OD either 2nd/3rd as use ovulation tests. I had cramps on the 11th. I have done tests but BFN. I am very regular usually. I have had no tears and tantrums which are usual, no mucus, no cramps (usually bad. My boobs have been very tender since Saturday. Not sure what to do. might retest on Sunday... if that's negative do I just leave it or go to the doctors?

Kirsty4278 · 19/11/2010 19:18

Sorry to hear that franjam - good luck for next month!

I am symptom spotting like crazy! Got pg very quickly after trying for 1 month but unfortunately had an early mc in August. This is our first month of trying again and AF is due on Monday - have had lots of cramping pains this week, Tuesday had some spotting, sore boobs a little last night, bit faint feeling and a bit of a metallic taste.

It feels really like when I fell pg in August but I'm trying not to get my hopes up! Can this all be psychological?

I think I'm going to drive myself crazy at this rate!

franjam · 18/11/2010 12:07

Bugger, AF showed up today, big style! Got me hot water bottle and Feminax....
Better luck next month eh!

Fingers crossed for those of you still on the 2ww

xx

franjam · 17/11/2010 19:12

Well according to the ovulation calendar on here AF should have arrived today but no sign at the moment....however my cycle length seems to vary month by month from 29 to 31 days so am not testing yet!
I'm gonna try and last out till Monday....

Been having mild cramps on and off for a couple of weeks, boobs no longer sore but feel bigger and have had a couple of dizzy spells the last few days. I'm keeping everything crossed but will probably be back on here next week with a BFN Sad

QuietTiger · 17/11/2010 15:12

Can I join? :) Am now officially TTC number 1. :)

bossyboop · 17/11/2010 13:30

glad youve got support shelleylou. I told my friend about my chem and she didnt even respond and instead went on to tell me about how she was late and would be testing soon - thanks, I thought.

franjam · 15/11/2010 13:06

Batty - quick question about the twingy pains you're getting.....whereabouts is it hurting?

shelleylou · 15/11/2010 11:44

Thanks bossy, I'm lucky to have a couple of close female friends i can talk to and my parents. Mum's making sure i eat lol.

batty78 · 14/11/2010 19:38

Thank you Addicted I think I'm going to get a test tomorrow and then do it Tues am, so that way it's very nearly a week, so I'm being a good girl for GP, and if it's a bfp I can ring EPU asap. If not I'll ring the docs about the wierdy 'milk'. Since I've sat down tonight I've started to get strong twingy pains in my left side. Trying not to read anything pos or neg into that. Will concentrate on Strictly and X-factor instead :)

bossyboop · 14/11/2010 15:42

Oh shelleylou, big hugs for you, you know where we are if you need to talk about it.

Radley ive voted, and how cute too! I had a few pleas on facebook for votes and couldnt decide on where to cast my vote as it was friends versus family so to pick someone entirely different makes it easy for me Smile

DD is poorly so DH is in the doghouse for being far too busy with his social life to either notice or care, so im knackered and hope she is better soon. So just as well im on the 2ww and dont need him fo anything lol though after last months chem i dont know what will happen this cycle, but so what, xmas is coming, will have my tree up in a couple of weeks wahoo!

shelleylou · 14/11/2010 11:42

Addicted I don't need to be aplauded for strength. It wasn't a decision i came to its something that is a direct result of something else. Its hard to TTC when your single. As awful as it sounds I'm kinda glad I had that MC not sure i could cope going through a pregnancy with all this aswell.

AddictedToRadley · 14/11/2010 09:43

Shelleylou
I really don't know what to say other than are you ok with that decision? It mustve been a hard one to come to and I applaud your strength. I don't think I could be that strong and think I'll still be ttc no2 until I either succeed or I'm 90 years old!! Grin

Ilovemarmite79
Firstly I have to say yuk yuk yuk. Marmite?! Hmm
I've had lots of mc's and have also been told to ring epu to have a scan as soon as I get a bfp so I'll be following their advice. They need to know if baby has a heartbeat when I mc and they're experts in their field rather than gp who knows a little about a lot. I would advise following epu not gp. However I would say you should try to wait until the day after your af's due to do a test if you can be that strong. You're much more likely to get a correct result that way rather than a disappointing bfn that's inconclusive. I'd rather have af the witch turn up than a bfn. Either way good luck.

Batty78
I'm not an expert and I'm sure someone on here will be more experienced than me but I didn't want to leave your post unanswered so here's my personal thoughts (perhaps Google it if unsure still):
I hope I can reassure you a little that whenever I've had BM leakage (I was never able to bf for health reasons) it's always been a creamy colour almost yellowy tinged. I would assume the white bm your talking about would be actual feeding milk iykwim rather than colostrum which has a creamy yellow colour. So don't worry about that. If you get a bfn this month you MUST go to the drs to get checked out (I don't want to scare you but better safe than sorry especially when you're a mummy). When are you going to test? It sounds very positive and I hope you get a bfp. I've had 7 pregnancies, 7 mc's and 1 precious ds (ds was a twin) and some I've had no symptoms and others I've had every symptom going so you can't always compare what symptoms you had with dc1 as it's often completely different (especially if it's a different sex baby - I assume). Good luck and do come back and let us know as soon as you do.

Now what I'm going to do now is going to be very very cheeky and very un-mumsnet of me but I'm going to be shameless for once!! Shock After the very difficult start in life my little boy had (with his birth, several serious health problems and the attempted abduction when he was 5 mths old) I think he deserves to be spoilt and pampered so I've entered him into the Next baby competition He's doing very well and is currently in position 3,853 out of a total of almost 87,000 entries but there's only 24 prizes and just 2 days left to vote (voting closes at 12 on 16th Nov). If you haven't entered your dc into the 19-36 month group please vote for my ds link here
If you've entered your dc into the 0-18month category let me have the link and I'll vote for your dc in return. Thank you and I'm sorry for being so unashamedly forward but I think James deserves a treat!!

Hi, I'm new on here and looking for a bit of advice/reassurance/potential diagnosis?! I had mmc April 07, my dd Sept 08, started trying again around Sept 09 and have since had 3 mc (at 7, 9 and 5 wks). GP told me after last one (last month) not to test on 1st day of missed period but to leave it a week or so, so as not to get my hopes up and then dashed if mc is an early one. But letter from consultant says to call EPAU as soon as I get a positive so they can monitor me. Hmmm.
If I'm keeping to a 28 day cycle (I used to, but been trying not to keep notes recently as I was obsessing) I was due Wed, so hopes raising slightly... Then this morning dd was clambering over me in bed and generally poking and prodding and I noticed yellowish liquid coming out of my right nipple. My first thought was "milk production! Woo hoo! BFP here we come!) but then i started to worry there's something wrong, cos my milk was definately white when I was bf-ing and I've no other symptoms of pregnancy. Anyone else had anything like this? Confused

Ilovemarmite79 · 13/11/2010 18:04

Hi I have been TTC for 5 months. This month used OT and ovulated on 2nd/3rd On Thursday (11th so 9days po) I had really cramps but also a lot of wind (!). Yesterday and today I've had the odd twingge which could be nothing and acid reflex. What do you think? Is it worth doing a first response test or should I wait? (AF due 17th)

shelleylou · 13/11/2010 17:12

no i didn't get it, no longer TTC. DS can stay an only

AddictedToRadley · 13/11/2010 15:28

Did you get your bfp shelleylou?

OP posts:
shelleylou · 13/11/2010 12:31

Hi ladies best of luck hope you all get BFP's soon. I'm leaving the thread x
