Welcome to our new thread where everyone's welcome. Sit back with your favourite drink and get all those 'suspicious' symptoms off your chest including the ever popular suspicious boob (sb).

If you're squeamish this may not be the thread for you, as this thread is dedicated to those with strange goings on where no symptom is TMI.

Good luck to us all for that elusive BFP to arrive soon. Who'll be the first to get one?

Hello herethereandeverywhere - deffo sounds positive to me (being the expert that I am!). I hope you don't mind me saying but I always find it strange that ladies who have been there and done that with pregnancies don't know for sure if they're pregnant. I realise of course that it's not that easy and every pregnancy is different, but I still can't help but think that you must have some more of an idea than us first time frolickers! (This isn't meant as a criticism - obviously - just an observation about how unhelpful nature!)

Hope it all works out for you - and be sure to keep away from those fishy smelling people!

Hello all. I hope you don't mind me posting on your thread.

Like Imps7 I also feel the need to share my crazy symptom spotting DESPITE the fact I promised myself I wouldn't do this this time round! DD took 15 months ttc so I shouldn't get my hopes up.

I'm tentatively ttc no2, had a hideous birth 1st time round which left me with lots of ishoos including an aversion to, ahem, sex. Anyway, that's as sorted as it can be and this is the first month of being back 'in action'.

I tried opks this month but got no confirmation of ovulation (although for half the time I was testing with the 2 line ones which are impossible to interpret and I got bored of waiting 5 minutes for a result!) Didn't really notice any pant-snot but again, forgot to look Blush

Anyway, af due on 18th. Have had the following things which I'm dutifully interpreting as symptoms:

  • headache and slight light-headedness

*tired, wanted to go to bed early and napped in the afternoon both weekend days

  • slight cramping low down and slightly pink discharge. af is NEVER early and I never get spotting. I got cramping at af time when pg with DD

*Good old suspicious boobs. Definitely felt funny sensations for the last few days which feel a bit like a very faint let-down reflex (sort of pins and needles tingly but not the whole boob, just little bits all over it IYSWIM) or like the feeling I got when I was heading for blocked ducts, slightly sore Hmm

  • v.slight nausea in the morning (last couple of days)

  • Today have been very conscious of nasty smells (kept checking shoes for dog poo but none there Confused and someone on the tube smelt of fish ConfusedConfused

  • woke in night last night with hot sweats (like I got after I had DD) and was REALLY hot in work today

Don't think I can hold out testing until Tuesday, might do one on Sunday instead!

Imps7 · 10/01/2011 17:34

Oooh goody just found this thread - this is my first cycle of TTC so the first TWW/obsessive symptom-spotting! Am desparate to share with someone - OH is not interested/does not understand and no one else has a clue that we're TTC (in fact all of our friends think we hate children!)

We've only SWI'd once (OH is working a lot at the moment) - last Tuesday (4 Jan). No idea when Ov was - I'm not doing charts as yet.

I have felt very different this month as compared to previous months - I have been off the pill for 12 months so my cycles are all natural now. Symptoms have been:

  1. Sore nipples from 2 days after SWI (I never get sore nips - tender bbs before AF, definitely, but not sore nips);
  1. A firm/slightly hot feeling in my uterus - I am very conscious of it being there IFKWIM;
  1. Feeling hotter than usual at night for 4 days after SWI;
  1. Slight feeling of light-headedness when I was laying in bed on Saturday morning;
  1. Crampy/wind-type pains since Friday.

AF is due at the weekend - I can't wait to find out if the above are genuine pg symptoms, or if my mind is playing cruel tricks on me!

Hello sharon and welcome!

Saw the gp and have to go back for swabs and examination to see if theres anything to worry about regarding the spotting ive had between periods and the aches and pains. She didnt ask any questions at all about it but I guess there are so many possibilities the only way to know for sure if theres anything that needs to be treated is to take the swabs and exam. Of course trying to get an appointment at a time when dd can be supervised is difficult and also have to fit it between af, so going to be a couple of weeks. Had a teeny bit of peachy cm this morning (an indicator af is coming) not sure why its peach these days will add that to my list of complaints when I go to Drs but the pains have stopped at least as they do when you book an appointment with gp!

Sharoncymru · 06/01/2011 20:16

Hello, I'm new - to Mumsnet, to TTC, to all these abbreviations (got that one though as you can see!) and to the whole new world of 'is this a symptom or just my over hopeful head??!!'.
Convinced I had a chemical (silent) pregnancy last month (had lots of funny little symptoms) that ended in the heaviest period EVER.
Now trying agin - 'fertile period' this week; hubby is delighted at all the action!
First attempt was Monday and I already feel like things may be afoot; crampy pains, extreme tiredness, but could all be coincidental. So hard to know when you definitely want them to be SIGNS! Wondering how soon I can do a test this month and if it's a good idea anyway?!
Fingers crossed - and to everyone else who is ttc out there too. Will keep you posted.
PS Am 36 and a half so really hoping not left it too late Blush

bossyboop · 06/01/2011 13:43

ive had another weird test yesterday, bfn hours later faint positive - though probably evap line, no idea, was as wide as test line and test line was purple this was light purple. Still got another week to go anyway and despite having very sore boobs with one looking incredibly suspicious I know it was outside the time and I have to assume its negative. Ive done a couple of other tests to see if they turned positive later and they havent so evap line I guess it is.

Im off to the doctors tomorrow about all the aches and pains ive been experiencing and some of the irregular bleeding ive had so ive come to the conclusion I have allsorts of illnesses so thought it better to get checked out.

Daisybell1 · 06/01/2011 08:51

Aha, innocent has described the 'sparkly' tum far better than me, it was a kind of warm tingly feeling. And a prodding feeling in my left side occasionally.

I've had a little bit of nausea but nothing else, no suspicious boobs, tired but not overly so, and yes, wind here too Blush.

Am now 12 days post ov so I think that if it was happening this month, I'd know about it a bit more Sad

InnocentRedhead · 06/01/2011 03:08

Well, i'm in the same boat as all you guys!

Some of these may not be symptoms, but i thought i may list you everything that im seeing as a symptom:

Sore, very sore nipples
Boobs feeling verrrry heavy got some SB action going on.
Extreme tiredness, slept 12 hours 3 days on trot, can't do that now as i am back at work after days off.
No PM symptoms, no moods, no cramps no general bleurgh-ness - i keep thinking im getting cramps and then let out a big fart and it goes (TMI LOL) :o
Tingly feeling in my tummy and a slight stabby dull ache to the right.

Oh and a sore throat, but that is just the air con :)

As well as symptom spotting PG im trying to symptom spot AF (those on Oct bus will understand) due to unknown cycle length!

AddictedToRadley · 06/01/2011 01:57

Fingers crossed it means something this time Bossy

Wonder where all the 'regulars' have gone, it is far too quiet on here lately!! Sad Missing all the symptoms and general gossip!! Sad

OP posts:
bossyboop · 05/01/2011 18:02

never heard that one either but I know what a suspicious boob is and its back!

AddictedToRadley · 29/12/2010 10:40

Bossy That must have been awful. It's bad enough without having a little one telling you how desperately they want a sibling let alone having that extra guilt there too. I'm not really sure what to do but think I'll continue trying. Really can't cope with many more MCs (this is my 8th now, 6 since ds).

DaisyBell Sorry but never heard of a 'Sparkly tum' it's new to me too!

OP posts:
Daisybell1 · 28/12/2010 22:36

Hello all

Could someone possibly explain the term "sparkly tum" please?

I'm on the 2WW, suffering badly with heartburn/indigestion which I never, ever get, and my lower tum feels really hot inside. Is this a sparkly tum? Am new to all this terminology.

Thank you!

bossyboop · 28/12/2010 14:58

oh no, its just so difficult isnt it, you having a break or hoping to make the most of being more fertile? I took a break seeing as though it was christmas but otherwise would have carried on. Ive had a lovely christmas and just enjoying the wine for now at least. I was at the loo and dd age 3 burts in like she does and she says whats that mammy? and I say thats what happens when you dont have babies and she bursts into tears saying she really wants a brother or a sister. Talk about making me feel guilty! So back to trying but secretly enjoying not being pg at the mo Smile

AddictedToRadley · 28/12/2010 03:40

I'm back!!! Had a fab time will catch up and update you all but feeling crappy as had a bfp but am no longer pregnant. Way to go for timing (Christmas Eve!!).

Bossy Last I heard was Assassin broke her laptop but couldn't afford a new one and finds it difficult to update at work. Hope she's back soon (and with good news). Did you have a good Christmas?

OP posts:
bossyboop · 11/12/2010 17:49

what happened to assassin? Did she have a name change ive missed, cant see her any where????

bossyboop · 11/12/2010 17:46

Enjoy your holiday and I hope you and your family have a lovely christmas and everyone else here too Xmas Grin

AddictedToRadley · 11/12/2010 03:38

Thanks ShelleyLou Your right about 25 still being young and I'm pleased you can see there's plenty of time yet but I can imagine you're trying to convince yourself of that as much as everyone else. I wish you every happiness, I truly do x

This is my last post for a while as I'm going to an airport hotel tomorrow ready for our flight to Cuba on Sunday. I'll either be coming back with fab news of a BFP or with naughty tales of extreme drunkenness Xmas Blush (when my mum's in charge of ds of course!!). I've got a gut feeling it'll be the bfp but is that a real gut feeling or just lots of wishful thinking?? Xmas Hmm I really don't know!!

I hope you all have an amazing Christmas and fingers crossed for lots of Christmas conceptions! It's when you relax and take your eye off the ball (excuse the punn!) that the goals tend to be scored. Christmas and holidays are great for this so here's wishing Santa sends us all an extra special gift [fbear] xxx

Take care and love to all of you (I know I know very un-mumsnet of me but it is Christmas......!!) Xmas Grin

Bless you, there was certainly no need to worry. Two of my close mates are either pregnant (a few weeks ahead of what i would have been) or have a youngish baby. Everyone can see how i am with children. Theres hope for me to have more yet im not qui9te 25 lol.

Thinking of you and your dad radley xx

AddictedToRadley · 09/12/2010 03:14

Shelleylou I'm so glad to hear I didn't offend you, must admit I was worried as I hate upsetting people so much. Sorry to hear about you and (d)h I hope you're doing ok. The problem is it's so difficult to think about anything but when you want another dc. Pregnant women and newborns seem to be everywhere and there's no escape!! I was looking at a photo of my ds when he was a day old and can't believe how long ago it seems since he was that tiny yet it's only 2 years!! It's made me even broodier now (if that's even possible!!).

Munki I hope you're ok. It's still possible it's not a mc and just af. I recently had every symptom possible and was sure I was pregnant but kept getting bfns so didn't know what was going on. In the end I had a 70+ day cycle even though I'm normally pretty regular at 28-31 days. If you really want to know for sure you can still do a test as you still get a bfp upto about a week after a mc from left over hormones. I hope it was just af playing stupid games with you. If you ever need to 'talk' I'm here (well apart from when I'm on holiday!!) as I've had 7 mcs and 1 ridiculous cycle so understand what you must be going through.

PippaandPolly It sounds promising especially the extreme tiredness. When I was pregnant with ds I could sleep 16 hours a day if I wanted I was that tired. It's because your heart's working extra hard to pump around the extra blood for the baby and it takes 12 weeks to regulate. That's why the tiredness goes after week 12. I know what you mean about feeling despondent about ttc, it's so hard when you're not successful first month. Once af arrives a month seems such a long time before you either get your bfp or af arrives! And as I said before babies are everywhere when you're ttc, normally you don't take much notice but when you want one they seem to multiply and everyone, except you, has one or are pregnant!! Such an unfair world. Sad

I went to the hospital mc clinic on Monday and got some great news. Genetic tests came back, for dh and I, completely clear. Hormone tests were very good and showed I was ovulating. Long and short of it is there's no reason why we shouldn't try for a baby and be successful. The only snag is she's still worried about my health (with the bloody tumours!!) and said it's possible my health could deteriorate even though it was lots better when I had ds. I think I've just ovulated so we're trying to find time/energy to ttc but have so much going on that it's a case of wham bam, thanks, turn over go to sleep!! Grin Hardly romance of the century!! I've just got a feeling that we're going to be successful this month but I don't know why. Normally I hope we are and try to convince myself I'm sure we will but this feels different. I don't know why but there's some sort of gut feeling that's telling me we'll either find out we're pregnant in Cuba or concieve out there!!

I've got so much to do before we go on holiday but not enough time. We've got hospital appts and loads of other bits to do tomorrow plus I need to pack too as won't have chance Friday and don't want to do it on Sat as we're leaving at lunchtime. Mind you I always say the same but it always ends up a rush!! It's not only my packing I have to do but dh, ds and mum's too. We always mix our cases up as that way if one gets delayed or lost it's not as big of a problem as it would be if it was one persons entire case. Bit worried about the weight though as Thomas Cook only give a measly 15kg hold luggage allowance and 5kg hand luggage!! Normally it's 20kg + 10kg. It makes a lot of difference when you have to take 2 weeks supplies of nappies etc!! Plus their max hand luggage size is really tiny compared to other airlines! We wanted to take extra childrens clothes, toiletries etc etc for the staff and their families as it's such a poor country but will need the whole allowance ourselves Sad We'll just have to leave some of our used clothes instead which I'm sure they'll be greatful for.

Gosh don't I waffle on?!?! Hmm Grin Hmm Grin

I won't be posting for 24 hours as it's the 2nd anniversary of my wonderful dad's very sudden and unexpected passing today (Thurs). It was such an awful time as I had a 4 week old baby (had been in hospital for 3 weeks) and dad never got to hold him. Miss him so much and know he would've loved ds's cheeky nature!!

RIP DAD, LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU SO VERY MUCH xxxxx

Hi everyone, I am symptom spotting like mad at the moment. I'm on day 21 of a cycle that is all over the place - anything from 28 to 35 days - so I have no idea when I'm due or when I ovulated. (Next month am going to start investigating when I ovulate properly as I have no clue at the mo!) I'm utterly exhausted today - really, really, really tired. It's the last week of term so it is tiring (I work in boarding so my hours are looooong) but I am far more tired than usual. I'm hoping this is a symptom... I also felt a bit nauseous this morning and keep feeling twinges that don't feel like period cramps but more like a pulling sensation. Fingers crossed but I'm not getting my hopes up - this is month 8 of trying and I'm beginning to be a bit despondent!

munki · 07/12/2010 09:19

Hello,

I am out, AF arrived today, CD 31. Sure it's a MC/chem pg because is the longestcycle I've ever had including after pg, mc and coming off pill. Boobs had def changed and now noticeably paler, plus was having a lot of nausea.

So I'm just glad i didn't test after all yesterday as that would be even worse, but I am finding it hard to cope with so am just going to stay off here for now (not that I've been here very much!) lots of luck to you all, Radley got my fingers crossed for you to get your xmas bfp.

X

shelleylou · 06/12/2010 09:51

Addict4ed. You in no way at all offended me. DH and i separated for a completely different issue last month and no chance of a reconciliation. I've recently been trying to convince myself i don't want any more DC's but that hasn't worked to well people have seen through it completely lol.

AddictedToRadley · 06/12/2010 09:33

Sorry but can't think straight to post properly as nerves have got the better of me now!! Just wanted so say good luck Munki and I'm thinking of you.

OP posts:
munki · 05/12/2010 09:24

I hope AF turns up in that case, so you can have lots of holiday cocktails and Father Christmas puts a BFP in your stocking!

I was expecting to wake up to AF but nothing, had cramps and shocking backache all yesterday afternoon and evening and was in a really bad mood. CD 30 today and cycles are maximum 29 days. So either AF comes today or will test tomorrow.

First time I got pregnant was the first cycle ever we didn't use contraception and I didn't even consider I could be pregnant, I didn't even test until AF two days late because I didn't notice I was late! Wish I could be like that now!

AddictedToRadley · 05/12/2010 01:36

Munki I'd rather have AF rear her ugly head the get a bfn. I don't know why but bfn's hit me harder than af!
I don't expect to get any answers on Monday but perhaps that's good as in my thinking no answers = nothing wrong. Will wait and see though. Can't believe at due on first full day of holiday though and am not expecting a bfp as DH and I have only managed to bd twice whilst ovulating. I know it only takes one to be successful but still, will just get on and relax. Our last big holiday was also to the Carribbean and I found out I was pregnant a month later with DS so fingers crossed. That would mean one conceived in the he'll hole known as Dominican and one conceived in Cuba!! How neat would that be?
Anyway I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you Munki please let us know and good luck.
