Settle down girls settle down as I hand you all a yummy pornstar cocktail complete with a sparkler and tacky umbrella. I take it we are all wearing our fabulous vintage 50's frocks, high heels and have our red lipstick on? Make yourself comfortable in the penthouse... the naked butlers are just heading in with grapes and truffles in trays...

All new first timers welcome - as long as suitable goodies and alcohol are dropped into the penthouse for all to share.

I need alcohol now!!!!

Rant over. Hope u are all well will be checking in properly later x

gardenpixie · 16/09/2010 12:12

Thanks Flick and Josie I think I might POAS again next week if ERTD still hasn't shown up... I know I was daft testing so early but at least now I'll try not to get too drunk at my mum's birthday drinks!

Smile
JosieSmith1 · 16/09/2010 11:58

Sorry Garden Sad but I've heard that CB are the best so fingers crossed there's still a chance.

MissFlick · 16/09/2010 10:57

garden, that's crap BUT remember that it is early even if you did ovulate before the scan... lots of BFPs don't show until after you are officially late as I know you know. Hope you're feeling ok and work is going ok today xxx

gardenpixie · 16/09/2010 10:52

Thanks everyone for checking on me! Sorry i haven't posted earlier; not been able to log on unnoticed!

Used a FR and got a BFN this morning so I guess the CB yestereday was faulty. Oh well, it was exciting while it lasted!

Hope everyone else is OK

Will do a longer post later

xx

MissFlick · 16/09/2010 10:34

Oh no josie hope you feel better soon. You've been very restrained this month- am V. impressed :) This month has flown by!

Where are garden and lanky :(

JosieSmith1 · 16/09/2010 10:11

Where do you work Toria, though I wouldn?t be another sane person I?m afraid! Grin

Hope the acupuncture works HighHeels, bath and oils sound lush! Grin Venison sausages and roast veg sounds lovely too! Sorry you?re struggling to stay positive at the minute but hope you feel better soon.

Thanks Truff, though I don?t really want to start anything new yet, plus if I get pg and have just started a new job don?t you have to be in it for 2 years before you get maternity pay? Without it I?d be really stuck! So I?ll stay here for the time being but having this idea in the back of my head should make it a bit more bearable for now. I love academic study too, currently doing an HND in equine behaviour and welfare through home study. Hard work but gives me something to focus on.

Florin that sounds lovely! Here?s hoping you get a BFP to go with it soon!

LOL Alien, and second that! Grin

Oh my goodness I?ve just realised I?m back on top of the list again! I am not well at the minute so no celebratory dance I?m afraid. After my little rant yesterday I fell asleep in the car (DH driving obviously!) on way to yard, then I was too physically exhausted to ride or even walk horsey out so DH did it for me (bless him!), then fell asleep in comp chair wrapped up in dressy gown and duvet with fire on at about 8pm, DH sent me to bed at 9pm. Think I?ve got a cold, or could I get pg symptoms mixed up with a cold HmmGrin.

You have to admit though, compared to last month I?ve been very reserved about the POAS business and have remained calm and in control. Though that will go out the window if ERTD hasn?t arrived by sat!

kkas · 16/09/2010 10:01

claire of course we remember you! so glad to hear you are happy and business is going well. thanks for popping back :)

claireinthecommunity · 16/09/2010 09:01

kkas, Bellaby and MissFlick - I'm really touched that I've been remembered (and missed) Smile

To be honest I hadn't read through the thread, I'd only checked the list to see who was here Blush

highheelsandequations · 16/09/2010 07:54

WE WANT GARDEN, WE WANT GARDEN!!! Who's with me Wink

MissFlick · 16/09/2010 07:38

Sorry, I didn't do good posting this morning. I skimmed through as was in a huge rush and missed important stuff.

lanky you didn?t come back??? My turn to worry now. Let us know how you got on when you have a chance sweets.

highheels although I said about going private, I meant to also send big hugs your way and say sorry you were having one of those days :( I hope you?re feeling brighter this morning. Hang in there for the weekend lovely. Do you have any nice plans? Hope you enjoyed the bath. I can?t wait for my Emma Cannon book to arrive- hope it?s hear in time for the weekend!

josie this is where we were talking about spots and garden was our expert. I don?t think we spoke about ones on the forehead though? Thanks for your lovely comments yesterday btw xxx

truff I have a friend who?s bump was teeny weeny throughout her whole pregnancy and she hated it. She said people were commenting on it all the time saying hoe small she was and all she wanted was a big baby bump to show off :( As well as your treatments am also Envy of your dinner last night! No potatoes allowed on the low GI and they are my fave food :( Will just keep thinking of the baby that will magically appear when I lose weight...Hmm

Here?s the list- I have moved some people to MI SWI A hope no one minds? Hope you can work it out?!!They have not been around muchsince the start of this thread so maybe they have lost us? If you are out there lovelies and want to come back let us know or if you are pregnant let us know too :)

[waves] to claire! Nice to seee you and glad to hear that life is treating you well!

Just sticking my head in to see if there was any news from Garden. Get up and test woman!!!!!

MissFlick · 16/09/2010 02:18

whoops I mean of not off :)

Hope you enjoyed prego yoga crazy Come back and tell us all about it and your weekend away. have you had a chance to watch Strictly yet? xx

MissFlick · 16/09/2010 02:16

claire! kkas and I were just talking about you yesterday! You must be psychic :) If you scroll up you will see us mention you. So glad you're doing well, keep coming back and updating us won't you?

Jealous of florin's evening and off truffkins cheap treatments!

Highheels If you think your budget could stretch to go private then it's definitely worth it. I don't think I would of thought of it in the UK be being here, you have to pay for everything so it is 'normal'. I have already spoken to Mr. Flick about getting health insurance for when we come home to England as the speed of the treatment is so good.

Get up and test garden!!

Will pop back later on xxx

claireinthecommunity · 16/09/2010 01:07

Hello all, some of you may remember me (most of you wont). I was just browsing on the chat board and came across Kaloki's wedding thread and it made me think of you all here!

Congratulations again Kaloki Smile

And congratulations Bellaby, fantastic news Smile

Of course congrats to all others who have had a BFP lately too Wink

I'm doing well, business is booming and I'm happy in my life. Best wishes to you all x

MrsWajs · 15/09/2010 23:28

Oooh garden will be popping in tomorrow morning for news also!! :) Good luck!

highheelsandequations · 15/09/2010 22:15

oooh Florin your log fire and red wine sounds like bliss. We went away to a little cottage in the middle of nowhere for a week in the Easter holiday and spent an awful lot of it in front of the fire with good food and wine. And there were 4 foot snow drifts outside. Heavenly!

highheelsandequations · 15/09/2010 22:12

Back again, it's quiet in here this evening.

Flick glad the test results were all okay, it must be quite a relief to get such a full MOT done. Sorry about the pile of marking, no matter how organised I try to be it all just seems to pile up sometimes. Second the alternative remedies theme for the new thread (not that we'll need one cos we'll all have our BFPs soon :o) I only manage to do anything in the evening if I go straight from work, if I go home first there's no chance of me leaving the house again! Do enjoy my pilates though and make an extra effort to get there every week. Oh, and I'm quite happy for you to be a bad influence on me :o

Lanky how was the scan and the needling? As I mentioned earlier, fertility is one of the reasons I'm trying acupuncture but not the only one. Know exactly what you mean about sitting surrounded by the pregnant women, part of me know's it makes sense to situate gynaecology, maternity and assisted conception in the same area but it's not helpful. At least I now just have to go to the assisted conception unit for my visit so I know that everyone there has been in the same situation.

Josie sorry your work is not going well but good for you getting the research into your business done. Hope you get everything you want.

HRH I am very proud of your excellent maths skills :) I don;t envy anyone a 14 page assessment. Sending W*ERTD wishes in your direction

  • Welcome

crazy hope you enjoyed yoga.

Truffkin I also am a weirdo who loves academic stufy, would love to do another course (or even another degree) but don't have the time just now. Coaching is really interesting, I've looked into it a little for work and it seems like such a good model for motivating and a vital leadership skill. Glad you're trying not to let ttc take over your life. Hope you enjoyed your fish pie, I had venison sausages and roast root veg with honey and mustard and it was yummy :)

garden I'm going to be here first thing to find out what's happening. Everything crossed for you.

I'm feeling a little down tonight. Was reading about clomid and apparently 50% of women conceive within the first three cycles, and if you haven't conceived within 6 months on it it's quite unlikely that you will. So obviously now I've convinced myself that I will never be pregnant. Just seems a bit like every time I get my hopes up they get dashed. Thought clomid was the wonder drug but no success. Heard loads of stories about women oving and getting pg the cycle after clomid but 99.9% certain I haven't oved yet so don't think it'll happen. Any SWI is starting to feel a little like a drag during the week as i am so tired waiting up for DP, but don't want to say anything to him as don't want him to feel pressured as I know that can cause more problems. Was really hoping this would be our month as then we would have found out the good news around DPs birthday, plus my 7 week scan would have been just before my mum comes up to visit so perfect time for sharing the news. I know that I shouldn't give up hope and all the rest but, as you ladies know, it's hard. Was looking through my diary earlier and found out that I first went to the GP about ttc on 8th November last year, and our first appointment at the fertility clinic was 28th Jan. It seems like an awful long time has passed and not much has happened. Am seriously thinking about seeing if we can pay to go private as all this waiting between treatments is driving me mad. Sorry, moan over, just finding my new positive attitude difficult to maintain.

In other news, DP now has the tree as an early present. It seemed a little pointless and impossible trying to hide it after he's seen the labelled box. Bit disappointed the surprise was runied but think he liked it (he's not big on expressing excitement etc. over gifts).

Hope everyone is well. I'm off to finish reading Room and get some sleep.

Florin · 15/09/2010 21:56

garden how exciting, I will be logging on early to see how your testing goes.
I am having a nice evening, I complained I wad cold so dh lit the first fire of the season. So curled up on the sofa in my pj's with a log fire going and a bottle of red wine-life doesn't get much better, well I guess a bfp would make it even better but at the moment this is pretty nice.
Good after a dull day at work- so ready for my year off!
Liking the whole idea of starting a business would so love to be my own boss. When I finally have a baby hoping to become a childminder so that I can look after my baby myself and also make some money while I do it

Truffkin · 15/09/2010 18:52

Hi frolickers and sorry I've not had time to catch up properly, you lot really are yappers (sad face though as I've been too busy at work to join in!)

Errrm Garden am doing (very reserved) little excitement dance for you. You simply must post on here first thing to tell us the result and although it's painful to wait, logically FMU willl give you the most accurate result.

Josie so sorry you feel this way about work, could you look for something else for now whilst you set up your business and wait for it to go stellar with orders to make you a millionaire Grin It sounds like you've got DH well back on track and positive so well done you!

Crazy go you with the preg yoga, hope it's relaxing and you come out feeling very zen!

Flick So pleased the results were good and you sound so confident with your plan, you go girl! I know I'm really lucky to get such good deals from work, all of the treatments are subsidised by our Health & Wellbeing department so we can have massage, reflexology, acupuncture and there is even a salon that does hair and beauty (waxing / manicures etc) I'd struggled to find a decent ly priced hairdresser since moving down here and now have my hair cut, coloured and highlighted for £100 at work!

The girl in the office next door to me is 5 1/2 months pregnant (I found out today she is this far gone, as only found out a few weeks ago she was even up the duff along with 3 other announcements on the same day!) and seriously she looks like I do when I've eaten a big lunch! I'm kind of envious that she isn't getting massively fat (as I undoubtedly will when pg!) but also think that with no discernable bump to show off and rub at random intervals, does it feel less pregnanty?

Anyway, no news really from me at the moment. If my cycle predictor is to be believed I am oving on Saturday so, having given DH the night off last night we will be SWIing all the way to the weekend and then keeping the old fingers crossed for 2 weeks time. As I've only had one 'normal' cycle of 33 days since having my implanon removed, there is of course every chance that I will convince myself I'm pregnant when ERTD doesn't arrive, only tobe confronted with it a few days later.... Just giving you guys plenty of advance warning before my menkulling starts!

I am taking my own advice and keeping TTCing as just one of the things I'm doing at the moment so it doesn't take over my life just yet and have enrolled on a new course starting next month at a local uni. I'm lucky that work are paying the fees and giving me some paid time off to attend the teaching days. It's a Postgrad Diploma in Coaching, which I think will come in handy in my job (I work in HR) and as I love academic study (I know, freaky me!) I'm really excited for it. It's 5 blocks of Friday and Saturday so I'm giving up some of my own weekends too, but will be worth it when I qualify!

For someone who's had no time today I've certainly waffled so will leave you ladies to enjoy your evenings and I'm off to have my dinner of lovely fish and brocolli pie (mmmmm mashed potato Smile)

highheelsandequations · 15/09/2010 18:44

Evening girls, very quick post here as I'm about to have my tea but dying to hear back from garden, fingers crossed for you hon.

Still no ov signs and think I just have to give up and stop looking for them. Ended up working late again so missed my second abs class of the week, not happy about it. Absolutely exhausted so think I'm going to take Emma Cannon's advice and have a long hot bath with essential oils after my food and try to chill out. Looking forward to my acupuncture session and pole dancing tomorrow though :) Lanky I went to acupuncture for the fertility, IBS and stress. My acupuncturist says she can't 'treat' any particular symptom as acupuncture addresses the whole person and will hopefully have an impact on anything that is unbalanced. She talked about clearing blockages a lot. Be interested to hear how you've got on.

Need to go just now, hopefully be back later for a proper catch up and glass of wine chat :)
