i haven't been temping.....wondering whether to give it a go. Need to read a bit more about it. Will my digital thermometer do or do i need to buy a special one?

ravenlocks · 27/09/2010 15:42

Meant to say - how irritating queenrollo! Are you temping? I would recommend it if you have irregular cycles as as pinning down luteal phase length, and pinpointing ovulation (albeit after the event) were benefits I noticed from it. They say your luteal phase length doesn't vary more than a day or so each month. For example for me, I am on CD28 today, but only 10DPO whereas previous cycles have been as short as 26 days. I been stressed and confused over 'late periods', which actually was just about later ovulation. So, if I hadn't been charting/ temping I would have thought I was late today when in reality I am not. Only been a couple of months for me doing it, but last month I predicted AF due date on the money based on knowing ov day and last months luteal phase length.

ravenlocks · 27/09/2010 15:29

Rosie that sucks, how gutting. Hope you are feeling ok, and ready to get straight back to it.

Your story and the strong advise from broughthimroundtotheidea and benign have convinced me not to test tomorrow.

I had thought that I wouldn't atall ruin DH's birthday by getting a BFN as I wouldn't believe it anyway due to how early I was testing. However, in reality I would be so upset with a BFN that it would impact the day - no doubt. Even worse I guess if I got a BFP and got us both excited and it turned out to be a chemical and I get AF a couple of days later. Also googled and found out that mostly likely day to get a chemical pg (if that is the right way to say it?) is at 12DPO - obviously take that with major bucket of salt given I found it on the internet. So not very many arguments for testing at 11DPO.

So, I will test on Thursday if I don't have AF or a major temp drop by then.

Quite nervy today as this is only my 2nd month of temping and at 11DPO last month I had my first of 3 steep temp drops which resulted in AF 13DPO. I have a feeling I will know tomorrow deep down if things didn't work out this month - testing or no testing as my BBT will give the game away.

I should really be working but just can't be bothered!!

BenignNeglect · 27/09/2010 12:12

Sorry to hear that Rosie :(. Hope the July bus is better for you.

And Raven - don't do it!!! Resist the sticks :)

fledtoscotland · 27/09/2010 11:18

Stilk no AF so will test again tomorrow

xx

rosieposey · 27/09/2010 10:31

Thanks for all the well wishes ladies :)

I did loads of tests too totallyfloaty (about three times a day!) and got some really strong looking lines when i got up yesterday. Unfortunately by lunchtime i did another and one last night and this morning and they are all negative. Obviously must be a chemical pregnancy, had one at the beginning of the year too and exactly the same thing happened - its the perils of testing early im afraid.

I would definately expect to see a nice strong line by today and this mornings negative just confirms its a chemical. Cant wait for AF now, last time this happened it was a few days late and i tortured myself by doing a test every day till it came but of course they stayed negative, i am not going to do that this time.

I hope i dont see many of you on the July bus and you get lots more bfp's, ill join as soon as af starts and fingers crossed for next month. Good luck everyone!

Totallyfloaty its looking good - will keep everything crossed for you :)

queenrollo · 27/09/2010 10:26

fed up. no sign of AF so looks like the last two cycles being 35 and 37 days was a blip and i'm heading for another 40+ cycle.

Just don't know what's going on with my body, and thinking it really is time to pester my GP but part of me is scared in case there is something really wrong Sad

broughthimroundtotheidea · 27/09/2010 07:47

Dont do it Raven ! it could have the opposite effect and ruin the birthday unnecessarily! Too early!
Well now the 2WW awaits and we have done it all properly this cycle 5 times in one week, poor old DH was getting bored of it! Told him he can now have 2 weeks off if he likes.
Had lots of (posibbly imaginary) fluttering yesterday and heavy feeling tummy so we will see if it comes to fruision. Everything crossed for everyone x x

ravenlocks · 27/09/2010 07:36

Hi everyone,

I hope you get some positive answers OTP.

Woo hoo for rosie, congrats!

Had a luuurvely weekend. Nice to get away for a couple of days - didn't even take my BBT (although must admit that was an error rather than by design, but was good to have a break from temping!). Also didn't have any mobile phone reception so wasn't googling mad random TTC related things for a whole weekend. Feel quite refreshed!

So - big question is - to test or not to test? Considering testing tomorrow (11DPO). I am not a fan of early testing but as it is DH's birthday tomorrow have some crazy fantasy of getting a BFP and making it a really memorable birthday. AF not due until Thursday. What do you think? No symps whatsoever....

I'm hopping off the bus, but won't jump to the back seat until I know what is wrong with me and have been in to see my doctor. Whatever it is I'm hoping it's just a very rude and early visit from AF not the other frightening things I've googled up. Sad

I'll keep lurking for BFPs though as they always cheer me up on MN.

BrassicaBabe · 26/09/2010 22:10

Is this seat taken nervous? It looks like I get another rise on this marvellous bus too.

Congrats on you BFP too Rosie. I still have a while to wait - 5dpo. Keep imagining symptoms but too early really.

Had a fab weekend. DS at Grandparents for two nights. Cinema friday night, friends wedding in Cornwall Sat (stayed in a lovely hotel) and good bike ride on way home in Dartmoor. It was almost like weekends before DS, except I hardly drank at the wedding. DS had a great time with the grandparents too and was really happy. Pretty knackered now though. Hope you are had good weekends.

TerrysNo2 · 26/09/2010 18:24

Big congrats Totally and Rosie on those BFP's!! :)

Am reading stats and wondering if I should actually be ON the June bus?!?! My CD seems far behind everyone elses?? Mind you, DS was due on 1st of the month so maybe I'm an inbetweener??

Happ Sunday all!!

Totallyfloaty35 · 26/09/2010 14:17

Hi Rosie,i got a BFP on 21/9 which is only about 8dpo! So i have a done 6tests Blush since. All positive and today is the day my AF would have been due and no sign so i think i feel brave enough to graduate now Wink

Usual cycle length

I hate symptom spotting cos in any one day can have a range of "signs" from sore boobs, nausea, tiredness, cravings etc etc even when am in the middle of AF. I just can't remember what early pregnancy feels like.

smallbluestar · 25/09/2010 19:00

Think this should be my group?

Am 7dpo (I think - not sure - just 'had a feeling', some of the signs but no proper testing)

No idea when in my cycle it's been - have ridiculously irregular periods so who knows.

But feel convinced.... cramps, sore boobs ,feel like burping all the time...

Tested today, knew I was going to get a BFN and did...

Am going to wait til next weekend to test... think this means I'm still on the june bus though??

New to this lark (although ttc #2) - what's UCL?

fledtoscotland · 25/09/2010 16:30

Well AF hasnt turned up again today and have no pmt or cramps so will test again tomorrow

Having said that, i dont feel pregnant either

DS1 has been in hospital today having adenoids out & grommits in. That with stress of shingles wont have helped me conceive

fatheadsgirl · 25/09/2010 14:07

(i put the photo on my profile as im still wondering if they are evaps but i dont think you can get three in a row?)

Hope everyone is having a great weekend and QueenRollo you are having a fab time at the wedding - hoping and praying that the witch stays away for us all this month ... just another few days and i will know one way or another.
