Congratulations starflower and totally - keeping my fingers crossed for both of you!!

I am 29 too and if being optimistic would like to have baby before I'm 30 (in July) but not banking on that!

StarflowerGirl · 23/09/2010 09:38

mrsden I didn't notice anything this month but I don't know if the flu has been masking any pg symptoms. My nipples have looked, I dunno, different the past few days. The nipple area is bigger and I have a huge blue vein underneath my right one but aside from that nothing.

This time is so different to the last time. Last time I was dreadfully dreadfully ill with a kidney infection right around the time I got a BFP, I was puking everywhere from day 1 and had terrible stomach cramps. I'm taking it as a good sign that, aside from the flu, I actually feel pretty damn good this time round. Smile

mrsden · 23/09/2010 09:25

Congratulations Totally and Starflowergirl!! That is fantastic news. I'm sending you both lots of sticky thoughts Grin

Did you have any signs or symptoms that made you think you might get a BFP? I'm 7 dpo now and feel nothing unusual, wondering if this might be a bad sign or if it's normal not to have any inkling this early.

MrsP81 I'm also 29 and the same as you decided that my aim is to get pregnant before I turn 30!

StarflowerGirl · 23/09/2010 09:04

Like fatheadsgirl I took a test this morning to see if it was ok to take some flu meds because I just feel so awful. Well, to my great surprise, I got a BFP!!!!!!!

Hubby and I are being cautiously optimistic. In fact hubby's first words when I told him were "Oh. Ok." Bless him, he's afraid to be happy about it until we're past the point at which we lost the last one.

I'm taking occasional paracetamol to fend off any fever but have no idea what else I can safely take. Any ideas?

MrsP81 · 23/09/2010 07:43

And I meant to say to jigglebum, I would also have a couple of drinks at the wedding.

MrsP81 · 23/09/2010 07:40

Congratulations totally, keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Welcome greeneyes and Terrys.

I'm 29 btw, and would very much like to be pg before I'm 30. Not that it makes any difference, I just like to have something to aim for!

We have been doing lots of SWI this week and even my DH, who was very enthusiastic to start with, is looking forward to the 2ww so he can have a rest. I am very impressed with you ladies who manage it twice a day.

TerrysNo2 · 22/09/2010 23:04

hi all, can I join?

My stats are (if I understand it right!):

TTC #2 UCL 27 Cycle 2 CD3

I hardly believe that conception acronyms are even more confusing than the pregnancy ones were Grin

DH and I are trying for a 2nd for the 2nd month but didn't really try much last month as it was my first cycle for 2.5 years! I stopped BFing DS in May and came off the pill in July. So far first cycle seems a "normal" length of 27 days but my AFs are only 2 days long. Anyone else have such short ones?

Have ordered some OPKs off t'internet so will be seeing what they're like.

So, hello! Smile

fatheadsgirl · 22/09/2010 22:46

jigglebum I'd have one or two just so it's not obvious and yu can avoid the knowing gazes and nosey questions.
totally Keeping everything crossed for you, sending you sticky thoughts.
milano Enjoy shag-week Grin
starflower Thanks for the birthday wishes, I had a really nice day. DP took me to see We Will Rock You and it was fantastic. I'm avoiding any cold/flu meds too just incase, although....
knitter I too did an EPT this morning and got nothing too. Drat! Still you never know...>>tweaks nipple....yup, still tender

On the drinking thing jigglebum, if it was me I would say drink a little - 1-3 drinks or so and enjoy. I read on the oh so reliable t'internet that am embryo doesn't actually hook into your bloodstream until about 21 DPO.

Clearly don't want to give you bad advice and am in no way a medical pro. That's just what I would do.

ravenlocks · 22/09/2010 18:49

Envy at those whose ages start with a 2....

jigglebum · 22/09/2010 17:31

Wow - great news totally - fingers crossed for you. Serendipity - sorry to hear about AF, but you never know, could be implantation bleeding, though I actually have no idea about what that is like at all I am afraid.

I too am very impressed with the amount of SWI going on - if it were just down to effort and timing we should all be successful this month.

WE are still just in the SWIing phase before the 2ww. I should find out the weekend before my birthday - so either great or crap timing, depending on the result! Poor DH is finding shagging on demand rather stressful and will be glad of rest I think (perhaps TMI!) Funny isn't it - I would never share info like that with even my closest friends in RL.

Quick strawpoll - another wedding this weekend - to drink, or not to drink during the 2ww? My inclination is to drink but just a little so not too obvious and so I can enjoy myself. What do people think?

goldmaple · 22/09/2010 15:33

Congrats totallyfloaty fingers crossed for you!

greeneyes Hi! I'm 26, but birthday is in a few weeks so getting pregnant would be a nice surprise!!

Only a few days until SWI! We're going to try for 5 out of 7 days this time (probably TMI)... but very impressed with everyone who SWI more than once a day!!

ravenlocks · 22/09/2010 15:29

Since we are sharing, I'm 31.

Well done totally, hope to hear over the weekend that your line is stonger and you feel ready to graduate!

serendipity sorry AF got you, but not suprised you are unsure about it as v early when looking at your UCL. Not sure what implantation bleeding is like - never actually had it. Fingers crossed for ya.

Looking forward to hearing news at the weekend - FHG, queen, knitter looking at you!

Totallyfloaty35 · 22/09/2010 14:06

Greeneyes how old are you? im 40 Shockand you obviously have much more energy than DH and I as we managed it twice this month( which for us is pretty good)as he was actually in the same country as me for a changeGrin
Thanks Milanomum,im torn between wanting to rush around screeching with excitment and complete panic

milanomum · 22/09/2010 13:09

TOTALLY :o that's brilliant - sending you lots of stickiness!!

hello greeneyes I'm 34.

good news for you too rubberduckies glad the NHS is listening for a change!

I'm in shag-week. I ov'd on day 10/11 last month- wasn't ready for that! It won't catch me unprepared this time Wink

Serendipity27 · 22/09/2010 12:42

Hey ravenlocks thank you for the sympathy and advice! Unfortunately I don't have the rest of the 2ww to wait as AF has come about 5 days early. I was hoping it was implantation bleeding but I think I am being a bit too hopefull there as it is heavier than spotting but not quite as heavy as my usual AF. Based on it being heavier than spotting I think it is most likely to be AF don't you?

Although I haven't got the cramping I usually have I've just got a dull ache.... Oh I don't know!!!! I just want to do big fat crying and hide in my bed today! Instead I have the busiest work day ever and every sodding PG person in the building keeps walking past my desk!!! Urgh!!!!!!! bangs head on keyboard and sobs

Oh and welcome Greeneyes I'm 27! I'm sure you will find the ladies on this bus as fabulous as I do. And I am very impressed with the SWi every night for 10 days.... I satrt to flag after the 3 rd consecutive night of SWI!!! lol!

Greeneyesbigbottom · 22/09/2010 12:33

Hi everyone, thanks for your lovely welcome! I think I'm the oldest! [cries]

I'm symptom spotting like a loon at the moment - I have slightly sore boobs today so starting to obsess. Period is due on or around 28th, although have had a 26 day and 31 day cycle randomly before.

I dont do testing anymore as I can't bear the disappointment, so will just wait and see what happens.

SWI every night for 10 days so we must have done well with the timing - hopeful Grin

KnitterNotTwitter · 22/09/2010 11:41

girlsworld I always SWI was Shagging With Intent

and FWIW I'm 34

I did a naughty early pregnancy test this morning (7 days before AF due) and obviously no line.... doesn't mean anything though - except that I've got no will power (and 50 ebay pregnancy tests to use up!!)

Totallyfloaty35 · 22/09/2010 10:56

Hi all, gd news on the GP 8rubberduckiesSmile
Well im still spotting but i did a PG test last night and this morning.Im not actually due on til Saturday at least but i got BFPs on both, very faint but def there.
Im very nervous as never had implantation bleed before but did bleed at 7ish weeks and 12wks in last pg.Have also bled when i had ectopic, so im keeping em crossed that its a sticky and actually in the right place.
Please dont put me on graduates though til after the wkend(it may end up as a chemical)
Blimey i sound negative Grin

BenignNeglect · 22/09/2010 09:11

Hi greeneyes. I'm 27. I think .

I'm also now on the 2WW and feeling pleased with myself for finally, finally getting the timing of the poking-with-intent right. I am in fact so smug about getting the maths right that DH thinks it is hilarious. :)

I shall now twiddle my thumbs until 3 October-ish...

OverThePond · 21/09/2010 23:27

Oh girlsworld I like that Grin. No idea what SW is, but SWI is Sex With Intent.

8rubberduckies So glad your gp is on the ball. I switched mine out a few years ago as I gave her a good hard look and figured she couldn't handle my DH in a delivery room. Glad I did as it makes all the difference trusting the person with the drugs (or soothing music if that's your thing - personally I've not formed an opinion on that one yet cart before horse and all).

StarflowerGirl · 21/09/2010 21:59

Glad to hear you had a great GPs appointment 8rubberduckies! It helps so much when you have a sympathetic GP who actually listens to what you say and goes the extra mile to help you.

fatheadsgirl sorry to hear you have the flu. Happy belated birthday for last Friday though!

Welcome greeneyes! As for age, I'm 35.

Just when I thought I'd shaking off this flu bug it's come back with a vengence and is settling into my chest. Not good since I've had two bouts of pleurisy in the past two years so I'm susceptible to chronic chest infections. Sad I'm worried about taking any cold/flu meds as I don't want to harm any potential baby I might be carrying.

Girlsworld · 21/09/2010 21:50

Overthepond, here's an idea. I got given aa gift of an outfit in a 18-24 months size for my newborn baby. "I thought, you're bound to already have loads of 1-3 and 3-6 month clothes!!" You're sat there with a 7lb newborn baby thinking "Not my teeny tiny bitty bundle of joy. Nah. It'll never be possible that they'll be big enough to fit those". It's an uneasy feeling whilst at the same time being grateful for the gift, it reminds you that one day you will have one of those lumbering snotty nosed toddlers rather than the dainty bundle in your arms Smile

Then of course you have to store the (to your just-given-birth eyes) ginormous great big dungarees until the appropriate time, so they hang around in the nursery getting in the way for a looong time before eventually coming in handy.... Wink

(just trying to cheer you up!)

Girlsworld · 21/09/2010 21:34

That's great news, 8rubberduckies. It's fantastic when you get a dr who moves things forward rather than just talking about "seeing how it goes" (although of course this is essential sometimes, there's a time for talk and a time for action Smile).

Day... what is it now? 6 for me. A long way to go. BTW what does SW stand for? Will you make me guess? G'ahn! Give me a "sounds like"...

I come from an age of old-school Mumsnet talk, including BD (baby dancing); (((((hugs))))) without the apology that often accompanies them these days, and AF instead of period. I never did like BD and AF but I didn't see much wrong with the ((hugs)), yes it's twee but heart in the right place type thing.

OverThePond · 21/09/2010 21:30

Welcome greeneyes. I'm 31 as you asked.

Here's what's left of my rant after a 5 mile run hoping to burn some steam--I'm now exhausted and sweaty, but not less cranky. I'm really sick of going to baby showers and having to buy bottles and blankets and books for other people's darling bundles of baby. I'm most especially sick of hearing what a knack I have for picking out "just the right book" because "of course, you were a nanny" (f*&%@ing 10 years ago). I realize that I'm the one who has been diligently taking my birth control for 7 blissful years of marriage, but that's because I know precisely what I'm trying so hard to get myself into... Envy

Rant closed. Thanks for listening.

Sometimes I just want to buy a really twattish useless baby gift like a wipe warmer, or something really embarrassing like an inflatable donut to ease the pain of hemmorrhoids whilst trapped in a chair breast feeding...

To all of you, of course, I wish nothing but BFPs and well-selected books that won't drive you absolutely bonkers on the 127th read through. Grin
