Oh no! I used up the last comment, I think! Here goes, hope this works, industrial strength babydust to one and all!

MissFlick · 02/12/2010 01:18

Morning all,

My af arrived this morning which given I know I'm not pregnant I was pleased about. My cycle was a very respectable 32 days which has only ever happened once before. Having shorter cycles definitely makes me feel like I have more chances of a BFP as I get more goes! I need to go back to my doctor tomorrow to collect my Clomid and also antibiotics as I will be having a HSG on CD7. Has anyone had a HSG? I just wondered what your experiences have been like?

confu3ed bring on the BFPs after a Christmas of eating, drinking and being merry! I have a hen party this weekend to kick off my partying Xmas Grin I have been using preseed and that helps with the EWCM situation.

warlin I am in Hong Kong so unfortunately I don't have the NHS so I have to go private which is expensive but I am really happy with my level of care and my insurance does cover most of the expense.

broken thanks for your advice. As you can see I'm not in the UK and my doctor said she looks for around 25 to indicate a strong ovulation so I'm not sure whether they are working to different guidelines or have different ways of measuring? Either way, I will speak to my doctor about increasing my dosage this month as I am going to be away for two weeks over Christmas so won't be able to have all of the monitoring that I had in my last cycle. Was it 100mgs that worked for you? How are you feeling and how many weeks do you think you are at the min?

boba when will you get your next lot of results? Maybe you ovulated late so your little bean is shy in reveling it's self?

Jealous of your snow and struggling to feel festive over here!

confu3ed · 01/12/2010 22:20

Hi broken we must have posted at the same time! Than you for your kind words it really helps. Today is a bit better than yesterday but start clomid tonight so side effects start tomorrow :(
Wow 9 months of clomid and a bfp now that is reassuring.
Hopefully getting hammered this month will help me to relax a bit about the whole thing then hopefully I will get my bfp!
This thread does seem to be getting luckier fingers crossed it will be my turn soon!
Well novembers emotional rollercoaster is over now, jumping on Decembers very soon!!! Better hold on tight as it's a bumpy ride!!! X

confu3ed · 01/12/2010 21:28

Really yep this has been a nightmare 6 months, moved house too! We have been BDing every day from day 10 to 20, I reckon I ov somewhere between day 14 to 17. But no ewcm at all around ov time, clomid seems to have made it stop coming. TBH slightly concerned about it.

Miss Flick I reckon that's a great plan in fact starting partying this weekend! Maybe the relaxing will give us both a BFP for new year.

Warlin 50 mgs is the dose that they start you on and apparently it can take a couple of months to work. I am now on 100mgs and according to bloods am now ovulating with progesterone levels pretty high. On 50 I didnt ovulate every month. The ov tests do not always work on clomid, and can give false results. In fact the month that the doc said I didnt ov I had 2 positive tests days apart!! Everyone on here understands how frustrating TTC is and can totally empathise with your situation. Just get busy as much as you can and keep your fingers crossed!!

Thanks Boba. Is your cycle always that long?

Brokenbits · 01/12/2010 21:28

Wow, you miss a few days and so much happens.

Congratulations jobo. Truly wonderful news. How is your little man (and how are you, obviously) doing? I hope you aren't too exhausted. It must be quite weird once you stop panicking about actually holding your baby and it finally happens. It must seem a bit surreal.

confu3ed I'm so sorry and angry on your behalf. Angry This is cruel enough as it is without having a stupid unpredictable and late AF to contend with. I've been there and it's utter crap. I have heard people getting their BFP in their final (9th go) at Clomid. Try and keep your chin up. Easy for me to say I know. Wish I could give you a hug in person. Having said that, this thread does seem to be getting luckier. My periods were so weird that I generally had 4 days of spotting before it kicked in for real, which made the wait even more ridiculous because I was still wondering if I could be pg after AF started and it just meant I had to wait some more to start the next round of clomid. This month, I still had the spotting, but it turned out to be implantation. Also, early pg symptoms are a lot like PMS so it's a minefield of emotion. I hope you're as okay as you can be. Hugs. Get as pissed as you can this Christmas! It was the one thing I felt a bit more positive about when I wasn't pg, as it meant I could drown my sorrows. Fx for a Boxing Day BFP. You so deserve it.

nonu Sending lots of happy, supportive thoughts and cyber hugs your way. I know it doesn't help, but I have my fingers crossed that AF never arrives. Any news yet?

really Congratulations!!! Excellent news. Sounds as though you're in the same disbelieving limbo as me right now. Grin We're probably a similar way along in terms of the stage of pg, but I'm barely allowing myself to acknowledge it in case I jinx it. I'm sticking out a HTH to get us both through the wait for a scan. One hurdle overcome, moving on to another!

MissFlick Sorry to hear it hasn't worked. Must be very disappointing. Are they upping your dosage now? I've been away a while, so only just saw your progesterone figures. Ideally, they'd want to see a level of 30+ or early 40s to be definite about strong ovulation taking place (I'm assuming you're in the UK?), so it sounds like your body could do with a bit more of a nudge. Hope they alter your dose this month and it works straightaway for you.

God highheels sounds like you've really been through it. It also sounds like my worst nightmare right now. And breathe! I actually requested that they push my first scan back a week because I have long cycles and know exactly when I ovulated. If I'd gone in when they said (using my LMP date), I would have been about 6 weeks pregnant rather than 7 and I don't want to have to go away feeling desperately uncertain because they can't see a hb, only to worry for a week and then potentially get bad news at 7 weeks. These few days are dragging more than any I can remember at any other stage of my life. I just want to know now. Best of luck to you that things are slightly less eventful from now on.

stac How are you doing? Hope the cramping isn't too horrific. Great being a woman isn't it? Grin

Lady Great news about your scan. You're right that the BFP is the best feeling in the world, but I'm now terrified it will all go wrong!

Warlin Don't panic about late ovulation on Clomid. There's a lot of hype about people ovulating between 5 and 9 days after they take their last clomid tablet and this really wasn't the case for me. I was also taking it days 2-6. Clomid can lengthen or shorten your cycles, but you'll probably find that you'll ovulate later if your cycle is a bit longer. Also, I got my BFP on the first cycle. I ovulated on day 20 of a 34ish day cycle, so hang on in there. It's a shame they aren't monitoring you with scans for a couple of months, as this really helps with the timing of ovulation. I didn't have an injection, but treatment does seem to vary widely dependent on where you are based. Do you chart your temperature or use OPK's? Both may be helpful in terms of giving you a better idea of what is happening in there.
Extra CM can only be a good thing. A lot of people complain that Clomid dries that up a bit but go to it, if you have fertile signs. The best thing is to DTD as often as you can. Every other day if you can muster the energy, as it gives you the best chance possible! Grin Good luck!

Waves to boba. Sending lots of love and luck your way.

Hope I haven't missed anyone and that you're all coping in the snow!

boba82 · 01/12/2010 18:51

confu3ed hugs to you x

warlin I'm on 50mg 1st cycle also. I'm being tested with weekly urines and they suggested I ovulated around CD 27, on CD 41 now & still no AF so FX it has worked for me. I only hand in 4 weeks worth at a time so won't know for sure until AF turns up or till next round of results. Have POAS so defo not preg Xmas Sad. FX for you though. I would continue with the OPK but remember not always reliable when on Clomid. Sypathise with the frustrations though hun Xmas Angry

Warlin · 01/12/2010 14:14

Thanks Flick

As it's my first month, I don't really know how it all works. It would normally be too early for me to ovulate, given the length of my MC but I know it's different with clomid.

The GP said to go back next month (after 2 cycles of clomid) and get progesterone checked. I'm not that patient though. Why did you get an injection...are you going privatly? I would consider that but thought I'd try on the NHS first.

It's so frustrating when there is no ovulation...

I maybe just need to wait a few days...its just horrible checking everyday and nothing...as I'm sure you know.

I have lots of CM (much more than normal) which makes me think ovulation is imminent. Is this a clomid side effect?

MissFlick · 01/12/2010 14:04

Hi warlin,

Not sure if I can be that helpful as I've not used OPKs before but didn't want to leave you unanswered. On my last cycle of Clomid (which was my first) my scan showed that my egg was mature 18mm on day 12. I was then given an injection to induce ovulation within 36 hours. I suspect that if I hadn't had the injection I would have probably ovulated on around day 14 or 15. Hang in there and have sex every other day just so you don't miss your window! Does your doctor plan to test your progesterone levels to see if they indicate ovulation?

Warlin · 01/12/2010 13:50

Hi All

This is my first time using this site but I hope someone can help.

I have regular MS of 31 days but we have been TCC for almost a year now. I was using ovulation sticks and nothing, so the doctor took my bloods and confirmed I wasn't ovulating.

I am now on my first cycle of clomid (d2-6) and am on day 13 of my cycle...I have been using the sticks and there is still no surge...

When do you expect to see a surge with clomid (50mg)? I am depressed as I've never had any OBG problems and now feel like I will never get pregnant and I wont ovulate.

I have been told to try 50mg for 2 months and then my Dr will double the dosage if nothing is happening.

Any advice?

MissFlick · 01/12/2010 12:01

Hugs to confu3ed Xmas Grin hope the festive smilies cheer you up! I am planning to drinks lots over Christmas too and make the most of the one advantage of not being pregnant!

reallygrumpy · 01/12/2010 11:27

Hi confused I'm so sorry you've had a horrible day, ttc is such an emotional rollercoaster. I think your plan to relax, enjoy Xmas and have a few drinks is a good one. The combination of ttc, clomid and not having abreak from work for a long time sounds tough.

Also (and this is probably TMI) but last month DH and I BD at least every other day from when AF ended to CD27 cos I'd read somewhere that you can increase your chances by BD every other day and then when you get a positive opk or ewcm then BD every day for 3 days.

Oh, and there are options other than met or IUI if clomid doesn't work. There are injectables that can make you ov or an operation called ovarian drilling. But fingers X'd you won't need to go down either of those routes. Take care

confu3ed · 30/11/2010 21:49

Thankyou Really lady and stac looks like I should ask for metformn or iui at next appointment then. Month 6 of clomid starts tomorrow if it fails I am seeing consultant in january.

Nonu fingers crossed for you this month. I have had a lousy day crying lots. I have never thought I might be pg before but this month I did. If my af is late again i will try not to think positivly till i get a bfp. It is rubbish each month when af arrives, I totally thought it would have worked by now. All we can do is keep going and try to be positive hard though!

I have decided to try to enjoy Christmas forget about the not drinking have fun and try to relax. Got a couple of weeks off work longest holiday I have had for 18 months so really looking forward to it. Hey maybe Santa can bring me a bfp! Af is due boxing day so it's possible!!!

nonu · 30/11/2010 04:31

Hey confused it looks like both of us are sailing in the same boat i am also expecting AF any time and will be on 5th cycle of clomid it is very frustrating and every month we think this might be the one but it doesnt happen, i am not going to try think About testing this month ..........

stac14 · 29/11/2010 23:32

really i had went to gp thinking a cyst had burst as i was in lots of pain and the nurse insisted on a test which was + so just as i was leaving the doc phoned and told me to stop the met, it doesnt cause problems you just dont need it.

high they thought rileigh was ectopic, i saw a gp who said dont worry 'its easily removed' not what i wanted to hear about my long awaited baby i was devestated. Got scan and all was fine but as i had an early scan they sent an appointment for a scan at 14wks so i had to phone them to get checked sooner so dont leave it hun.

confu3ed dont get disheartened i had 6 clomid cycles and unfortunately for me i only ov'd once in that time. When i went back to the cons i was told i could pay for ivf as i have a son so i asked for metformim. He sent me for an echovist scan which is the dye in the tubes then he gave me metformin which worked after 2 months. It will happen for you hun.

lady fab news about your boy so lovely. Think i am driving myself mad regarding the weight loss but think its because i'm afraid of getting diabetes again. Are you on my fb? Cant remember if i added you.

missflick its crap getting these results hun hope your ok.

popsy how did it go today?

Hows everyone else? I have af again, hasnt really stopped since rileigh was born but the cramps been horrendous, soz to whinge x

Ladybird10 · 29/11/2010 20:40

Hi All

Confus3d We had iui on the nhs and it worked first time, so glad it did, i think the reason we weren?t getting pregnant was because we weren?t bd?ing enough around ovulation. Sorry AF is on it?s way, it is just so horrible, but your turn will come, AF arrived on Christmas eve last year and i woke up to lots of blood and extreme pain, i just cried and cried but this Christmas eve i will be 25 weeks. Don?t give up xx

Congrats brokenbits so exciting! I always thought it would never happen but when you see the BFP it?s the best feeling in the world

Aww Jo so happy you are home safe with your baby, you must be on cloud nine.

Really congrats to you too, seems like there will be lots of BFP?s in time for Christmas. You must be over the moon.

Thankyou for you messages regarding my scan, it went really well, the baby is perfect with no problems as far as they can see, and we are having a boy. So exciting. They checked my cervix and she said it looks fine. Baby is kicking me everyday which is very reassuring. I will still have to go back to the hospital to be checked over because of being in hospital.

Pops hope your well, did you get your results back today? So we are both having little boys, they will be a month apart in age. We will defiantly have to meet up with our gorgeous boys :)

Stac hope your ok, don?t get to down about your weight, you only had Rileigh 5 months ago, don?t be hard on yourself, i?m going to give myself a year to 18 months to lose the baby weight.

xxxxx

reallygrumpy · 29/11/2010 20:25

confused I've had 4 cycles of clomid, 3 of 50mg and got pg on cycle 3 (then had mc), had a break then 1 cycle of 100mg which didn't work (no follicles seen on scans) so then the cons put me on metformin for a month and then I was going to do 2 cycles of met plus clomid. It was during a month of taking just met that I got pg. What I'm really trying to say in a long winded waffly way is don't lose heart, it can work. I think stac also got pg on met after quite a few cycles of clomid.

confu3ed · 29/11/2010 17:50

Congratulations really I can't imagine how happy you must be right now!!! :)

No happy news fir me this month, period pains and spotting have started so it's on it's way :( really gutted as I seemed to have symptoms should have known better! Just hope that this month will be a good one for me or af will be here at Christmas which will be awful! Especially with my sister and her bump coming down trying not to be envious but it's not working. Month 6 of clomid starting in a couple of days. Has anyone had it work for them after such a long time? Most people seem to conceive in the first few months.

reallygrumpy · 29/11/2010 15:40

Thanks miss flick hopefully the next cycle of clomid will be lucky for you

highheelsandequations · 29/11/2010 15:13

congrats really, I know how worrying this time is but try to stay positive.

Hugs for Miss Flick

Everything crossed for those waiting for AF, hoping it doesn't arrive for you!

stac I had my 7 week scan last Monday and all was well (after a horrible fortnight of scans and blood tests when they first thought it was ectopic then they thought my HCG wasn't increasing enough then they thought there wasn't enough to see on scan for dates) but can't help still panicking that it will all go wrong. Am still waiting for appointment with midwife and date for 12 week scan. Am going to phone Drs and chase it up if I don't hear soon as I really want to get it before Christmas!!

MissFlick · 29/11/2010 13:54

Yipeeee huge congrats reallygrumpy! Everything crossed that you have a sticky bean there :) Glad the Clomid worked for you xx

Fingers crossed nonu x

reallygrumpy · 29/11/2010 12:21

Hello all, well POAS this am, a ££ one this time and it said PG 2-3 weeks so officially a BFP. I'm feeling a bit freaked out to be honest, can't believe it's true and v worried it might end in another MC.

stac when you got pg on metformin did you immediately stop taking the met? I'm trying to get hold of my cons cos I'm not sure whether to carry on taking it or not.

miss flick clomid didn't work for me 1st time, cycle 3 did so don't lose hope.

confused I didn't get a BFP until cd35 so it may still happen, fingers X'd.

Jo sorry, I was v self absorbed last time I posted and forgot to say huge congratulations on the safe arrival of your little one

nonu · 29/11/2010 11:34

Hey all, thanks for all your love and support...

Really this is just great news, hope this one sticks and fingers crossed.....

Cd-27 today and af should be there in the next two days, dont feel pregnant at all and we will just have to wait and see

MissFlick · 29/11/2010 11:15

IF af starts you mean, all is not lost for you just yet xxx

confu3ed · 29/11/2010 11:11

Miss Flick apologies I misunderstood the test.
It's rubbish every month finding out that again it didn't work! I know too well the sinking feeling you get at that time of the month. Have to keep on saying it just wasn't the right time and it will happen.
When af starts it will be month 6 for me on clomid feels like years!!!

MissFlick · 29/11/2010 10:13

Sorry for your BFN confu3ed . I always doubt how reliable those ebay cheapies are though and your DP might be right too that it is just to early to tell. I am on 50mgs but my progesterone test showed that I had ovulated so was hoping for good things. Today was the pregnancy blood test which showed that I am categorically not pregnant. I have to make an appointment when my period arrives to see my doctor and discuss my next cycle.

confu3ed · 29/11/2010 09:00

Miss flick are you on 50mgs? It wasn't until my dose was increased to 100mg that my results increased. I know it must seem really bleak at the moment but my consultant told me when my results were low that clomid can take a few months to work as your body is getting used to it. Have you been given 3 months worth? X

I gave in and poas and bfn :( it was a cheapo test from eBay though but even so if I was pg surely it would show up? My dp seems to think it's too early to tell. I just don't know what to think I guess I am just having a month where my af will turn up really late??????
