hi lychees I take it at night from days 3 - 7. It seems to vary from FC to FC & I don't know why either? I've not really had any side effects but heard taking i at night avoids them so maybe that's why? Good luck hun. x

Xmasstac · 25/12/2010 11:10

Hey all Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and New Year full of BFPs , will be away on holiday and Af due on 3rd Jan so let's hope it doesn't show it's ugly face will be back on the 5 th and then update you all....

reallygrumpy · 24/12/2010 09:13

lychees I've no idea why some people are told to take clomid cd5-9, I always took it cd2-6. Good luck with it. Oh, and take it in the evening.

snowball your care sounds amazing and v quick. I had to go private (i'm in London) cos my pct won't fund any fertility treatment if you already have a child and my care was v similar to yours, I had all the tests done, results back and a prescription within a month. It does feel v unfair that NHS care is so much slower.

glittery - congratulations on your scan, how funny that we're at such similar stages.

Ladybird10 · 23/12/2010 17:57

Just g/c to ask a couple of really quick questions. AF is due to arrive v.soon so I'll be taking Clomid for the first time this cycle. Is it best to take it in the morning or the night? Also, I have been told to take it from CD2-CD6 but I've noticed that some ladies take it a few days later in their cycle [I've seen CD5-9], anyone know why this is?

Thanks.

thereisthesnowball · 23/12/2010 07:47

Glittery - I'm sure all of this is available on the NHS but when I say 'private health care standards' I just meant that I can call up the gynaecologist myself (no need to be referred by a GP after months of TTC) and get an appointment that week, and be referred for tests the following week, and be prescribed Clomid within the month. Once I decided to get help it all went really quickly.

Glitterybits · 22/12/2010 23:28

really I'm so pleased you're okay. Bleeding is scary, despite how common it appears to be. I'm 7+6 today according to my scan, so we're virtually at the same point!

snowball it's called a Hysterosalpingogram here, or HSG. I've also had all the tests you mention on the NHS. I can't fault my care really, though in the UK it seems to be largely dependent on location as to how good care is. It seems to vary widely across the country, so maybe I hit lucky.

Hope everyone else is okay and winding down for Christmas! X

thereisthesnowball · 22/12/2010 19:55

Really - that's great news. When I was pg with DD I had a couple of rounds of spotting, and they all fell close to the point where I would have had my period had I not been pg, ie at 4, 8 and 12 weeks. 7.5 weeks fits in with that perfectly.

I have just finished my first 5 day course of Clomid today. Tomorrow I have a day off then I start 5 days of Oromone (which I think is basically oestrogen). No major side effects so far: just feeling a bit fat and lumpy and fed up after blowing the diet in anticipation of Christmas. I've got a 3 month prescription.

I've read through a lot more of the thread, and feel lucky to be doing this in France. I have had private health care standards, numerous blood tests, ultrasounds, a 'hysterosalpinographie' (not sure what it's called in English, but it's the unpleasant one where they put dye through your tubes to check it flows correctly), regular accupuncture sessions, DH has had sperm tests, and it is more or less all being paid for by the (part public, part private) health system here. I think, if it comes to it, that IVF is paid for too. But let's hope it doesn't.

Happy Christmas!

Warlin · 21/12/2010 10:19

Yay really fantastic news!

reallygrumpy · 20/12/2010 17:16

Hi all, thanks v much for the nice messages. Well I went to the EPU today and the nurse scanned me and everything looks fine, based on size I'm 7wks 3days and the heart rate was good too. They're going to scan me again in 2 weeks time and the spotting seems to have stopped so I'm feeling more positive.

stac - I like your festive name

How's everyone else doing? Not too cold or snowed in I hope.

Warlin · 20/12/2010 09:26

Really- hope you are ok. Bleeding and spotting is common during pregnancy so I'm keeping my fingers crossed it's all ok for you. Try not to panic.

Waves to everyone else.

popsy1 · 18/12/2010 13:02

really how ya doing? When's yr appointment at EPU? I agree with others, many pregnancies start or continue to have some bleeding. I know you must be scared but try and stay positive. Xx

nonu · 18/12/2010 09:08

really keeping fingers crossed for you hope everything works out well

confu3ed · 17/12/2010 21:32

highheelsandequations · 17/12/2010 18:07

really so sorry for what you're going through but remember bleeding can be common and doesn't always mean bad news. I've had spotting over the past couple of weeks and everything is still okay. Fingers crossed for you xxx

stac14 · 17/12/2010 01:32

aw really it may be nothing, i bled with rileigh. When will you be going in?

warlin it is a pain in the backside but they do need the full pic. Also i have heard of people getting bfp the month they didnt take it. I know its hard but try to relax over xmas

Quick post as i an soo tired, be back tomorrow x

reallygrumpy · 17/12/2010 00:06

warlin how frustrating!

Well my week isn't going well. Big water leak at our house on sunday and then this morning I had some bleeding. I saw the dr who's referred me to the EPU but it's not looking great...

confu3ed · 15/12/2010 22:10

Warlin it is frustrating knowing there is something wrong but not being in control of putting it right. It took me months to get an appointment with the consultant to get clomid, but was prescribed it immidiatly as the tests had already been done by my gp. It might not take as long as you think, and if if does then at least you now know that the clomid works.

I am on cd 16 and although I got a + opk result a couple of days ago I had no ther symptoms, I get no ewcm (sorry tmi) at all and now thinking that this may be why I have not had a bfp.

Reckon you are right warlin, focusing on Xmas and forgetting about ttc till the new year. I am also praying 2011 will be a year for a bfp!!!

Xx
