I've just been catching up on this thread after Xmas madness. confused what wonderful news, I'm so pleased for you, can you get an early scan to help work out dates?

highheels sorry about your spotting, have you managed to get it checked out? I'm now 9wks4 and have a follow up scan at EPU tomorrow so fingers X'd all is ok.

warlin how frustrating! When will you be able to start clomid again? My DH had to give his sample at hospital, he had to queue up to use a little room and hated it.

Warlin · 04/01/2011 16:30

Totally Boba, I'm pleased for everyone but its frustrating when others seem to do it so easily. They don't know how lucky they are.

Yes I'm keen to get back on clomid. I have never had any gynae issues, periods have always been regular, don't have PCOS....but just don't seem to ovulate that often. I had an internal scan and everything seems normal. The clomid made me ovulate so I just want to keep taking it! Annoying that they want me to hold off.

Also need to persuade DH to do seman analysis...I'm home with the little pot and he said he would fill it after Christmas....hate nagging as he gets annoyed!! But we need to make sure he's not the problem...think he's a bit scared to be honest.

Will let you know what my blood results are. Fingers crossed I ovulated this month and that the clomid has kick started things but won't hold my breath. If not, I'm going back on it anyway! We have DTD loads this month and it's knackering! So fed up...just wish it would happen for us.

Good that your periods are back and fingers crossed the clomid regulates things. Hopefully we'll both be lucky in the next few months.

We are getting a puppy in 2 weeks so hopefully that will take my mind of things and stop me stressing about it!

boba82 · 04/01/2011 12:35

This is my second month warlin I am grateful for periods believe me as last one was my first 'real' one in 8 months! I hope your results come back ok. Are you keen to get back on Clomid? I know EVERYONE is pregnant ATM aren't they?!

Warlin · 04/01/2011 12:24

Boba totally understand that feeling...how long have you been on clomid (50mg) now? I was only on one month, but the GP did prescribe 2, so if my bloods show I haven't ovulated, then I'm going to go back on it! Sitting in the cupboard is too tempting for me when I know it makes me ovulate! I feel your frsutration though...its horrible every month when AF shows. Just be positive though, some people would love an AF and can't even get that. Hopefully this will be our year and all the frustration will be worth it...seem to be a million pregnancies announced this Christmas amongst my friends.

rocket maybe your friend should try and get Dr to up the dose of clomid if it's not working?

boba82 · 04/01/2011 11:51

Good luck for the bloods warlin let us know how you get on.

highheels I echo warlin in that I'm sure everything will be fine Smile

Think I'm out this month. AF due Thurs I think and having all my usual symptoms. Got follow up appt @ FC on Fri so hopefully they'll increase my dosage up to 100mg. Really really fed up of TTC now Sad

rocketleaf · 04/01/2011 11:16

fairy sorry to hear it don't do the trick for you and its messed you up a bit :(

thanks warlin that sounds frustrating but I guess at lest they are trying to do the right thing. She got the hot flushes the first month and then has had nothing.

It does sounds to me like follow up is a bit random, postcode lottery no doubt.

I hope you both win your babies by whatever means works!

Warlin · 04/01/2011 08:48

Rocketleaf I have been on clomid for one month, after being given it by my GP. I was then referred to a cons who took me off it again pending further tests (which is a bummer as the clomid did make me ovulate).

I have to go and get my day 21 bloods done again without being on clomid to see if I am ovulating without it. If not, I will go back on it. Your friend should get referred for scans etc to check that the clomid isn't affecting her badly.

I was on 50mg and didn't notice any side effects other than hot flushes....

I'm frustrated as I just want to keep taking it, but the hospital insist that I rule everything else out first...I'm just impatient!

Highheels I'm sure everything will be ok. It must have been really exciting to see the scan!!! Have you told anyone yet?

highheelsandequations · 03/01/2011 20:55

warlin I had my scan on Christmas eve and everything looked fine. Am hoping to get to see somebody and have it checked out but nothing's open till Wednesday cos of bank holidays then I'm back at work so more difficult to get to appointments. Sure 2011 will be your year, it's going to be a good year for all of us.

FairyNewYear · 03/01/2011 20:39

Rocketleaf I had no follow up app either. All I had was blood tests that showed I ovulated 2nd month so Cons assured me I was ovulating. Clomid didn't work for me (as in I didn't get pg) & really messed up my cycles once I was off it. I hav no idea when I ovulated when on it as I have PCOS & OS don't work for PCOS or clomid.

Not sure I've helped re:symptoms but I've found that cycle symptoms & pg are exactly alike the only difference is if you get a period or not!

rocketleaf · 03/01/2011 18:13

I have just posted a question (or two) about clomid here, as I am not taking it myself so didn't want to barge in with a big long post here. If any of you have the time or inclination I would be very grateful for any advice.

many thanks

RL

ps happy belated new year!

Warlin · 03/01/2011 18:01

Highheels- try not to worry. Spotting is normal and I have heard of people spotting throughout their early stages. It's best to try and relax about it if you can, but if you are concerned you should get it checked out just in case...I presume you have had a 12 week scan?

Must be so exciting for you and confu3ed...am so envious! Hopefully 2011 will be my year.

highheelsandequations · 03/01/2011 17:45

confu3ed is it possible that your last AF wasn't a real AF then so you could be further along? Doesn't matter anyway, still thrilled for you! Don't think we're going to find out the sex, I quite like the idea of a surprise, less than 2 months to 20 weeks now, time is till going super slowly!

So my new year has brought me more spotting so panicking again when I thought I was past the worrying time Sad. Have heard of lots of cases when everything is fine and have been told it's quite common around 12 weeks (I'm 12+5 now) so trying not to panic too much but wish there was some way of knowing everything is okay.

Warlin · 03/01/2011 17:28

Happy New Year everyone!!

Congrats Confused, that's fantastic news! I'm so pleased for you...fingers crossed there will be more of us with that news this year!

I had Christmas off, plenty of wine and treats but am now back on the TTC rollercoaster......going later this week for my day 21 blood test. I'm off clomid for this month so fingers crossed I ovulated...

x

popsy1 · 01/01/2011 22:38

LOL jo that does sound familiar... Grin

confu3ed · 01/01/2011 21:34

Thank you so much for your lovely messages and congrats girls, I really don't think it has sunk in yet! Maybe if I get an early scan and see something there it will seem more real.

Higheels I was 2 days late last month and af only lasted 2 days. Yes this month was a clomid month, proof that it does work, even after 6 months! Wow over the 3 month milestone, that is great news. Will you be finding out the sex?

Happy 2011 everybody lets hope its a great year for us all, I totally have a good feeling about it!!! xx

Happy New Year everyone

highheels glad all is going well for you. x

highheelsandequations · 31/12/2010 16:18

confu3ed so happy for you, congratulations! If your last AF started 30th Nov, the dates don't seem to quite add up, but who cares??? Was it a proper AF? And did you have clomid this cycle? Could it be elevated HCG due to multiples? I wouldn't worry about it too much, the important thing is that you're pregnant, you can work out how pregnant later! What a lovely Christmas/New Year present anyway Xmas Grin

snowball stomach pains can be a side effect of clomid but if they're severe you should contact your clinic/GP as I believe it can be a sign of ovarian hyperstimulation (sp?) that can be caused by clomid. Hope you feel better soon.

How's everyone else doing? Hope you're enjoying the festive season. I am now 12+2 (or 12+4 depending on whether I go with my dates or the midwives) and still can't quite believe it. Want it to be end of Feb when I get my 20 week scan, then I might start believing there's a real baby in there.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 31/12/2010 16:07

Hi thereisthesnowball,

Stomach aches and discomfort is a recognised side effect of clomid.

Would advise you though not to use OPKs if taking clomid as these are particularly unreliable when clomid is taken. The kit measures LH; clomid encourages more LH to be produced so it is likely that the kit is reading this level (hence also the likely reason for the multiple positive results). Clomid's main job is to make the ovaries work harder. You should be monitored too whilst on clomid as it is quite powerful stuff.

thereisthesnowball · 31/12/2010 14:42

Thanks boba. Seems to be getting a bit better - still sore though. And I look about 6 months pregnant!

boba82 · 31/12/2010 14:23

Congrats confu3ed, what a lovely start to the new year!

snowball not sure if it's normal. I have been pretty bloated but not as severe as you're describing.

thereisthesnowball · 31/12/2010 11:03

Wow, congratulations confus3ed! That's fantastic news. What a way to end the year. Fingers crossed for you!

I came on here to ask about Clomid side-effects. I am on day 15 of my first Clomid cycle and since last night I've had a sore bloated (almost distended) abdomen, like period pain but less localised, so for instance it also hurts when I need to go to the loo. At the moment even walking is sore - I am good only for shuffling and wobbling, and feel like I have to zip my tummy muscles together to do anything. I'm hoping it just means that my system is in overdrive producing lots of eggs: I did two ovulation tests this morning and both were positive. Is this normal?

confu3ed · 31/12/2010 10:30

Hi Ladies, I hope that you all had a fab Christmas!

I am in total shock, been feeling sick all over Christmas and off alchohol, sore swollen boobs etc. Af was 5 days late today and gave in and did a test SHOCK a BFP!!! I am in total shock!!! All I wanted for Christmas was this to happen and it has!!! Too scared to get too excited at the mo though as i know that there is a long way to go!!

The strange thing was that the clearblue thing said 3weeks + which seems way to far as my af started on the 30th of Nov and I have 27 day cycle. Has anyone else experienced this? I kind of think that it may be due to the clomid???

What a great end to the year!!!

Happy New Year everyone!!! xx
