Oh no! I used up the last comment, I think! Here goes, hope this works, industrial strength babydust to one and all!

Yes confu3ed. I am getting treatment on the NHS. From what I hear, I shouldn't really be complaining, because they are more keen to get me in than I thought they'd be. Sounds like you could do with much better care. What dosage are you on? Also, they really should be checking you every 3 months at least to make sure you aren't over stimulated and to determine whether or not your current dose is working.

I've been told I can only take it for 9 months so it seems futile for you to continue taking it and using up your allowance as it were if it isn't even working!

Are you using OPKs? At the very least they might help you to determine when you're ovulating without having a scan.

confu3ed · 01/11/2010 22:10

Broken - Are you getting your treatment on the NHS?

I tried to call my consultant today as I will have run out of clomid before next appointment and the secretary told me that I cannot change the appointment that I get one appointment every 4 months and if I have any issues to go to my GP. Fanbloodytastic I mean seriously is that it, I am about to start month 5 of clomid, no idea what is going on with my body and so far I have had one 5 minute and one 10 minute appointment with the consultant. I want to scream, I mean seriously no tests no checks and most of all no bloody pregnancy!

Apologies if this sounds like a rant I just feel like I am running out of patience with the whole thing!

Chin up fairy x

Brokenbits · 01/11/2010 20:05

nonu You must be exhausted wondering what's going on. Still got my fingers and toes crossed for you.

Hey reallygrumpy. Had another scan today and there now appears to be one dominant follicle, which has grown 4mm over the weekend. Still not sure if I'll ovulate but it looks a bit more hopeful.

TBH I wouldn't have been at all put out by the idea of twins, apart from the risks. I'd be a little less happy about triplets, but there's a less than 1% chance, so I know it would be really unlikely. I doubt they could reduce my dose. I thought 50mg was the lowest you could get?

Another scan on Wednesday to get a better idea of when I might ovulate on clomid. I can see how this could be stressful month after month. It's nervewracking and tiring feeling hopeful one second and despondent the next. I really hope I don't need to do too many cycles of it.

Sorry to hear about the UTI. What a pain in the backside. Do you ever think that some people get all the bad luck? x

Fairygodmother1 · 01/11/2010 19:47

Hi ya,

Thanks Stac. I really want to lose a stone this month. Ever hopeful...

I'm kinda just hovering this thread now as the clomid was so long ago now, the bleeding hasn't sorted itself out yet & I feel further away from my dream than ever.

Highheels Congrats again xxx

reallygrumpy · 01/11/2010 18:59

Hi all, brokenbits thanks for your lovely msg, it cheered me up! On top of everything I'm really run down and have got a urine infection so I'm now on antibiotics. I don't think this will be the month we make a new mini-grumpy. Have you had another scan yet? Personally I'd ignore the medical advice and go for it but you need to think about you'd cope with a multiple birth. If you decide not to go for it or don't get pg they'll probably reduce your dose and scan you again next month. The positive is that your body's responding to the clomid and ovulating. Take care

nonu · 01/11/2010 08:24

hey, just an update today is cd-40 and have decided to wait for some more time before taking another test, just hoping that must have ovulated late, will keep u all informed.....

confu3ed · 31/10/2010 22:30

Higheels that is fantastic news! Big congratulations!!!

Broken I would go for it too, I have no follicle tracking so could be at risk if multiples every month but have no idea. I suppose in that instance ignorance is bliss.

Nonu sorry about the result. I would speak to your consultant you need to put your mind at rest about what's happening.

My af is on it's way again, Regular as clock work and do frustrating, even though I knew I was not pg this month I still hoped I was especially after spending the weekend with my sister.

Hello and welcome boba

Hi to everyone else!!!

stac14 · 31/10/2010 14:49

broken due to the clomid you were higher risk of multiples anyway. As you say if you werent scanned you wouldnt know so go for it and good luck.

nonu sorry to hear bout bfn but as the others say it may be too early, clomid messes with your cycles too. When it was me i had bloods done cd 21, 28 and 35 so wasnt allowed to take progesterone till after cd 35 results came back. Its a waiting game huni

missflick sorry bout af, try and push for clomid you've waited long enough hun

I have af too have done on and off since rileigh was born what is it with pcos, you either bleed a lot or not at all bugger x

highheelsandequations · 31/10/2010 13:40

nonu it's up to you how long you wait until asking for medical advice but I believe they are sometimes reluctant to do anything for a while. You can have a long cycle or a delayed ovulation for many reasons. Do you know when or if you ovulated? Are you receiving clomid through a fertility clinic? If so I'd contact them and ask for advice.

boba82 · 31/10/2010 12:53

Thanks everyone for the welcome and congratulations highheels on the BFP Smile

nonu · 31/10/2010 12:40

Thanx for all your support but can anyone suggest what is the next step that i have to take how long should i wait before going for a medical opinion

Brokenbits · 31/10/2010 11:35

Congratulations highheels and thanks for the vote of confidence. I seem to have lost every last bit of my positive reserve going right now. I'm not sure how to pick myself up from it atm.

nonu Not deliberately trying to get your hopes up, but I didn't get a positive HPT until cd42 with DS. I think some of our bodies just don't detect HCG as well as others. Either that, or perhaps you ovulated really late in the cycle, meaning that the normal 14 day rule doesn't apply? Just a thought. Anyway, it ain't over until the evil witch shows.

MissFlick Sorry about AF, but at least it's a step forward now. Welcome to the Clomid gang.

reallygrumpy Congrats on the weight loss. That is such an achievement in light of all the stress you're under right now. I seem to be piling it on rather than taking it off. Can I stick out a HTH? You and I have been trying to conceive for the same length of time and I, too, feel as if I've reached my breaking point. It's so hard trying to stay positive. A little for you. We'll get there because we have no other option but to keep going.

stac14 Thanks for saying that. I really can't imagine any ladies who have been trying for this long who could possibly take a month off of enforced infertility at this stage. It's bad enough knowing it's very unlikely to happen but trying anyway. When they tell you you can't even try, it's a bit of a kick in the teeth. How high is the risk of multiples anyway? Does anyone know? Am I that much more likely to have multiples than I would be normally? I can't even be sure that these follicles will even rupture, so a small part of me now wishes I was one of those women who wasn't offered scanning and didn't know!

Welcome to the land of obsessive insanity boba!

highheelsandequations · 31/10/2010 10:06

PS: To those of you who've been feeling down and that it will never happen, please don't lose hope. A couple of weeks ago I was trying to work out if we could afford IVF privately and now look at where we are. Stay positive and it will happen.

xxxxxxxxxxx

highheelsandequations · 31/10/2010 09:50

Thanks for all the congratulations. I think I'm probably 4 weeks, fertility friend reckons 3+6, had a few BFNs before the BFP so think it's very early. Still hasn't sunk in yet. Am going to phone dr and fc first thing Monday and see if I can get 7 week scan arranged.

nonu so sorry for BFN, but don't lose hope yet, any chance you ovulated late this cycle?

MissFlick sorry about the arrival of your period but good news about starting the clomid, hope it's lucky for you.

Welcome boba, the ladies here have been lovely to me keeping me sane over the past months :)

Stac thanks for the reassurance about the cramping, am trying not to obsess and worry but it's hard!

nonu · 31/10/2010 08:37

hi, jst tested and its a BFN....Sad Sad but no signs of AF i really dont know whats happening, congratulations highheels and yes this is very unusal for me my cycle is usually 28-30 days and today is cd-39 and no AF, any suggestions girls what do i do........

MissFlick · 31/10/2010 03:02

Morning Ladies,

Huge congratulations again to HH- so thrilled for you sweet! xxxx

Welcome boba I am new too but everyone here is very welcoming and lovely.

nonu good luck for testing this morning- everything crossed for you xx

reallygrumpy congrats on the weightloss! That is fantatsic news and a definite silver lining. Glad the OPKs seem to be working for you- so far so good.

Sorry to hear that you had another 'announcement' to deal with broken :( With regards to the clomid and multiples, I am no expert but would be inclined to do as stac said and just go for it- I wouldn't want to 'waste' a month of trying but I am very impatient!

My period arrived this morning so will be off to the gynae tomorrow where she wants to scan me and will hopefully give me my clomid. I say hopefully as they wanted a SA from my DH before starting me off on my Clomid- We took DH's sample in yesterday and were told the results should be back in three working days which should be Thursday. I am hoping that I will still get the clomid tomorrow even though my DH's results are not back yet.

Will check back later to see if there is any news from nonu :)

stac14 · 31/10/2010 00:20

oh and welcome boba to the thread a lovely supportive group of ladies x

stac14 · 31/10/2010 00:16

broken i know of many ladies who just went for it regardless of advice and it worked for them. I'm sure you will go for whats best for you.

Congrats high try not to worry about cramping its usual at 4, 8 and 12wks as your body adjusts to no af. You must be so happy, how far on do you think?

Have you tested nonu?

fairy how you? Hows the weight loss coming along? You looked fab in your bday pics

really its so hard, we were about to stop trying when i fell pg with rileigh.

Try not to loose hope ladies, if it happened for me it can happen for you. Very hard hearing bout friends and family being pg when your ttc, my friend thought she was when we were trying and i actually cried more so because her partner hits her made me so angry. So i know how jealous and hurt you are feeling. Just keep positive it will happen x

reallygrumpy · 30/10/2010 22:10

highheels congrats again! (I posted congrats on another thread too) if you're worried, why don't you talk to your doc and see if you can get an early scan?

Well I'm on CD8, not taking clomid this cycle (just metformin) and so far the opks seem to be working (no false positives). I'm feeling v fed up about the whole ttc thing, we'll have been trying for 2 years in jan and I'm starting to think maybe I'm only meant to have 1 child. But the silver lining to my big grey cloud is that I've lost half a stone (yay!).

highheelsandequations · 30/10/2010 19:52

I am in complete shock as I just got a BFP.

I am now terrified that something bad will happen and worrying as I've had cramps like my period was going to start for the last couple of days. This worries me as when I had my mc, I had period-like cramps that day. Trying to think positive and enjoy the moment, I was beginning to think this would never happen for me.

boba82 · 30/10/2010 18:13

Hi ladies I would like to join your thread if that's ok?

I've just finished my first lot of Clomid 50mg after being told I have PCOS and a blocked right tube. Until last week hadn't had a period since May and before then all over the place. Been TTC for 18 months and have never had a BFP.

I'm looking forward to all your help and advice as I have no-one in RL in same boat.

Brokenbits · 30/10/2010 15:25

nonu Just test and put yourself out of your misery! Grin Fingers crossed for you. xx

Bad day for me. My best friend has just announced she is pregnant. I should be thrilled for her, but I just feel as though I've been punched. I just don't feel that I'm ever going to have another DC and I'm sick of pretending to be happy for everyone all the time. It's just hideous.

Yesterday I went for my first follicle tracking. They told me they were unlikely to see anything on cd10, but they didn't want to leave me over the weekend just in case I was overly responsive, or clomid had shortened my cycles.

I have two 10mm follicles on my right ovary and one 10mm follicle on my left as well as lots of other little ones. So, I have to go back in on Monday to see if the biggies have grown. I was told that if all three have grown I will have to use protection to prevent multiples. What if this is the case every month? How am I ever going to get pregnant if my ovaries are very responsive and they won't let me risk having sex because of multiples? I totally see where they're coming from, but it seems ludicrous to use birth control after a year and a half of infertility and desperation for a child. The constant pg announcements are almost too much to bear in the middle of it all. Can anyone shed some light on this question?

highheelsandequations · 30/10/2010 15:20

nonu how long are your cycles usually? And are they pretty regular? If this is highly unusual for you I'd test, but know exactly what you mean about not wanting to be disappointed. Hope you're okay!

nonu · 30/10/2010 09:49

hey, looks like i am the only one posting here in two days, where is everyone, cd-38 and no AF someone pls do the test for me and tell me it is positive, am very scared dont want to be disappointed,.......Confused Confused
