FGS ifastfirst you would think that someone in the medical profession would have a bit more nouse than to say something like that to someone they know is having trouble TTC. Kind of beggars belief really. And why would she know better than your specialist? Hmm

IDK about the card thing, I try REALLY hard not to let other peoples good fortune be a negative thing in comparison to me but it is soo hard. After all we are all really private about these things (I bet people in work don't know you are TTC) so you don't know how much they went thru to get to where they are. But you have every right to feel sorry for yourself and come and vent on here :o I hope you have a better day tomorrow.

hippychick66 · 25/08/2010 19:43

ifatfirst What a shit day! I hope you were given somehting for the thrush. I think i would have been tempted to say the "ONCE IN 3 YEARS" to her if I had been you - what a stupid thing to say to someone. You don't particularly want to know you can get pregnant you want the feckin' baby at the end. Poor old you.

I know what you mean about writing in peoples cards - you want to put something like - I am so bloody jealous! But that's just not the correct etiquette is it Wink.

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 25/08/2010 19:04

crikey! I'm having a crappy day too! :(

Had my 6monthly smear today (after having treatment to remove pre-cancerous cells in January and the nurse really put a dampener on my day.

First of all, I asked when I booked if she could also do a "swab" that the fertility specialist had lined up for me earlier in the year.
When I got there, she was insistant that I didnt need it, then went on to say that I'm still young (31!!!) and it'll happen soon! And she also used the "at least you know you can get pregnant" line - WHAT?? ONCE IN 3 FECKING YEARS, WHICH I LOST AFTER 6 WEEKS??? Angry

Anyway, she was pleasant enough, so I let her off. After rummaging around for a bit, trying to get my cervix "where she wanted it" she then cooly said, ooh, youve got a bit of thrush there - news to me, I've had no symptoms whatsoever.

Finally, just to top it all off, I've had horrible pains in my stomach where she must have been poking around!

So off I trot, in to work in a feeling sorry for myself mood, which hung around all day. Not helped by everyone in the office getting all giddy about some baby gifts that were bought for one of the blokes who's wife has just given birth, and then having a "it's a girl" card shoved in my hand for me to sign.

Anyway, I've no right to feel so sorry for myself when people are having a much worse time like pooor emptyshell

I jut needed a bit of a rant :)

hippychick66 · 25/08/2010 18:49

dani some times I think - ohh that pain is bad, i've done too much of this or that or I've eaten something dodgy etc. then i think - erm actually maybe I'm ov'ing. The pain can vary so much it is a nightmare trying to pinpoint it.

i think i'm ov'ing today, had a pos OPK yesterday and the day before so i defo have to seduce Dh again tonight but I feel like I have period pains. Still - gotta go for it.

I really hope your pains are ovulation and not too much hoopla Wink

Danilou22 · 25/08/2010 18:26

Digi your chart looks a thousand times better than mine!

I am having a low day too! Have I ovulated?, haven't I ovulated? Confused there is certainly more CM than I have had for a while (sorry if tmi) so I think something is happening Hmm (CD91 now Sad)

It doesn't help that I seem to have a stinking cold that is playing havoc with my asthma and I feel terrible. I have really bad aches and pains esp in my tummy area some of which I think is from over doing the hula hoop on the wii fit but can't all be that! I just want my body to work properly!

P.S sorry to hear about so many MC's that must be just terrible x

bessie26 · 25/08/2010 18:00

digi your chart looks great. Have my fingers crossed for you.

Sounds like we have similar stories. DD will be 2 in october & we started TTC#2 when she was 6 months old. I've had 2 m/c since then. I figure it's definitely time to have a good 'un!

Saladbomb · 25/08/2010 16:12

Very sad to hear about your MCs digi I personally haven't ever experienced that for which I am very grateful but I have a few close friends who have and a good imagination so I can empathise how heartbreaking it must be. We stopped trying not to get pregnant (if that makes sense) well over 3 years ago, we have actively been trying for about 9 months. I was a bit daft and thought it would just happen and didnt get on the case very quickly with finding out why not. Also I am 38 which complicates things, and have never been pregnant which was a bit worrying. We have started the FC process but still in the fact finding phase so I am hoping that we can still do it naturally as turns out things are OK with me (so far)

digitalgirl · 25/08/2010 15:53

salad how long have you been ttc if you don't mind me asking? It's now officially been over a year for us. My next period is due the same time my first period came when we started ttc#2 (over DS's birthday). I've had 2 m/c's over the past 12 months so it's not been a constant grind, but the lows have been very low.

Saladbomb · 25/08/2010 15:21

I know how you feel digi Only first month charting (tho been TTC for A LOT longer) and to my untutored eye everything looks good but I just feel like I am due the RTD any day now. I don't know if its just the stress of the 2ww thats getting me down because I am so much more focussed on it. I am really trying to be good and not test too early but I just want to know. I think it's the most frustrating thing I've ever experienced.a

digitalgirl · 25/08/2010 15:10

No idea why I feel like it's not worked this time. Assume it's hormonal, but felt really blue this morning. No strange symptoms - just the same crampiness and back ache I had last cycle.

Currently 13dpo, my lp is 15-16 days and I only started temping again last cycle - which looked good until temp dropped dramatically on 15dpo - so am expecting a similar pattern. Will test if it stays high on Friday.

Have tried really hard not to get my hopes up this cycle, hence no early testing.

chocciechip · 25/08/2010 13:55

digi I think your chart is still looking good too. At 12DPO my temps would be crashing.

newyearsday · 25/08/2010 13:13

Chart looks good digigirl, still high temps, it's definitely not over yet, good luck xxx

Do you know how long your luteal phase is?

LadyGoneGaga · 25/08/2010 13:08

Digi your chart look great, why so blue? Any symptoms?

digitalgirl · 25/08/2010 12:53

Feeling a bit sorry for myself today (pre-menstrual is my guess). But can someone look at my chart and remind me that it's not over yet and not to drown my sorrows in copious amounts of alcohol tonight (will only void my bbt tomorrow).

hippychick66 · 25/08/2010 11:43

Everyone has said it already but I'll say it too. I'm so sorry empty. It's just so feckin' unfair. I had the same thing back in June and it's so devastating.

I hope you don't have too much physical pain. Mine only got to about 5 weeks and they could only see a sac as well. The MC was just like a heavy period and not as bad (physically) as I'd expected it to be.

Take care and come back when you're ready.

theteasonme · 25/08/2010 06:53

Oh Empty, I'm so, so sorry. We're all here if you need us xx

Saladbomb · 24/08/2010 22:44

empty I am so sorry to hear that :( :( :( Please take care of yourself and your DH. x

spilttheteaagain · 24/08/2010 21:45

empty I am so so sorry you are going through this. It is utterly unfair. We're all thinking of you and here if you want to talk to us. Take care of yourself xx

bessie26 · 24/08/2010 20:36

to empty. That's awful news Sad. Stay strong x

digitalgirl · 24/08/2010 20:23

So so sorry empty that is utterly utterly shite. Have also been in your shoes. You are not alone.

LittleSilver · 24/08/2010 19:22

empty I have just replied to you on AIBU; please, I understand that you may be feeling horrible and awful but please just let us know you are OK, you sound devastated on AIBU; please please ring any of the helplines/speak to DH/RL friends and family. Please.

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 24/08/2010 19:19

That's pants empty :( so sorry to hear that xx

Danilou22 · 24/08/2010 17:48

Sad for empty. Life can really be a big lump of shite!

chocciechip · 24/08/2010 17:43

I'm so sorry empty. I've been in exactly your shoes and it is feckin' unbearably painful. I am so so sorry you're going through this again.
