Hello all - have been lurking without much to say...

Split - I am very sorry for your loss. A chilling reminder that it can go wrong at any point. I hope you're getting a lot of support in RL too. I had a mc last year - 10 weeks. So I didn't get to hold my baby or name him/her. My thoughts are with you.

And you Mouse. That is just horrible for you too. My best wishes with you for the next wee while too.

TerrysNo2 · 13/10/2010 10:03

Morning all

I also read about the implantation dip LadyG so it could be that - here's hoping for you!

MummyA good luck with your appointment, I hope they can tell you what's going on!

I have a backwards question to MrsA's - should I assume that if AF appears and my temp doesn't dip that I haven't OV-ed this month??

Here is my chart with the new proper thermometer, what do you think? I also feel very unimpressive with my BD stats - DH and I can't seem to fit it in very often! I hope I am not going to OV now (CM gone creamy so assume not) as I am going away until Friday.

Also - I read that after OV your CM dries up - but I don't seem to get much in my underwear at any stage (sorry if TMI) so always have to check internally, thats how I saw EWCM, but now its creamy but there is still some there. Shouldn't it be gone if I have OV-ed??

LadyGoneGaga · 13/10/2010 08:12

Do you think so? I had one on same day last pregnancy but nowhere near as dramatic! Would be nice but worried it's just going to be a random short LP due to the mc. Will just have to see what it does tomorrow I guess.

Whenisitmyturn · 13/10/2010 08:07

Implantation dip LGG? It's about the right DPO.

Mummy - I hope you get some answers soon. It must be incredibly frustrating!

My chart is weird, look[[http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/2fee7f
here]

It looks clear when I ovved but temps plummeted this morning at 6dpo. Of course this is following mc so may be a bit loopy. What think?

MrsA, agree with MA that the other signs will give you clues but the only way of absolutely confirming ovulation has occurred is a temp shift.

MummyAbroad I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. I really hope you get some answers soon.

MummyAbroad · 12/10/2010 23:52

Hello everyone I'm quite new here too, so it feels odd welcoming you.

MrsA
"Is it correct that the only absolute way of confirming ov is temp increase?"

Other clues would be your looking at what your cervix is doing (high, open and soft = pre ov, low, closed and hard = post ov) and cervical fluid becoming dry again. Temperatures and cervical fluid are considered primary fertility signs, and cervical position is a secondary fertility sign. If you put all three together though, you get a much better idea of what is going on.Smile

Hello Dani, I'm curious how you went from a 5 month chart to a normal one? I am on [[http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/30b552
day 96 ]]myself Confused

I finished my 10 day progesterone course to bring on AF but it still hasnt arrived. I think this confirms my suspicions that I have a post ERPC related problem, as it really looks like I ovulated and I even got period pains and temps dropped at the time I should have bled. Off to see a new gyne on Thursday to see if I am right or not.

LadyGoneGaga · 12/10/2010 21:43

Wow, Dani looks lovely and normal! I'd concur with day 17 they are giving you. Must be a big relief after last cycle.

Digi I know what you mean re: lurking. Not sure I'll be brave enough for ages. Might have to go straight from here to post-natal! Grin

Danilou22 · 12/10/2010 21:33

Hello Ladies,

Just wanted to post my chart...

www.fertilityfriend.com/home/2e3054/rss7212.xml

I think it is looking quite normalish???(big temp dip yesterday)I just needed to share after the terrible 5 month cycle I shared with you all last cycle!!

Would love to hear your thoughts xx

digitalgirl · 12/10/2010 20:58

Hi MrsA [waves back]. Looking at your chart it doesn't seem as obvious as your previous one. I think from your temps and cm it's more likely you ovulated CD25/26. I've been known to ovulate two days after my second opk so it's not unlikely.

(My acupuncturist said that some women can ovulate 5 days after a positive opk. Especially if they've got pcos.)

Anyway, you're follicular phase temps fluctuate quite a lot (bit like mine did) so it's possible that it's taken a while for your hormones to reach the tipping point. It def looks like your post-ov but I wouldn't be surprised if you're cycle ends up being longer this time (hopefully 9 months long!).

Also - are you using a fever thermometer or a bbt thermomter? Just because you're only recording to one decimal point. A bbt should be a bit more accurate, which can help if your temp rise isn't that obvious.

I've been lurking on the Sep 08 thread recently, but haven't posted for fear of jinxing myself Blush.

LadyGoneGaga · 12/10/2010 20:56

Hi Truff, welcome over here Smile. It does look good - hopefully will stay up tomorrow. You did good on the SWI front, Mrs!

MrsArch Welcome! what does it do if you put a high temp in tomorrow? FF changes it's mind too much for my liking... But given you had a +OPK it looks likely you ovved around then. Looks like you don't get a lot of variance in your temps.

Truffkin · 12/10/2010 20:48

I'm hoping I am as I think I OVed Sunday / Monday, although FF thinks I'm not due on until 2 weeks on Friday as my average cycle is 33 days. Will see hoe I am feeling by next weekend then decide when / if to test I think.

Good luck Terrys not long to wait for you!

TerrysNo2 · 12/10/2010 20:44

Ahhh - anyone else on 2ww? AF due next Monday and feels like a lifetime away. TBH, not even sure if its due then as it's only my second cycle (in 2.5 yrs) but am making myself wait till then to test. Well, may do it on Sunday as obviously that's a more convenient day! Grin

TerrysNo2 · 12/10/2010 20:28

Welcome truffkin and MrsArch I am also a newbie here and so far found it lovely and helpful!

Hello ladies. I have been lurking for ages (well, since July) but wanted to get a few cycles under my belt before I came to say hello (Hi Digi, [waves])

Sorry to crash in at a sad time for Split - hope you are coping as well as you can.

I have a 2yr old DD and have been SWI since June, although tbh, we've really only had a good go this last cycle.
Using FF and finding it amazing that my body works, well sort of. [Famous last words!]

The past few cycles I have had 28-30 day cycles, ovulating day 18. My temperature differences have not been huge - only changing by a few points of a degree but FF seems to think I do ovulate.
This cycle though, it's gone a bit pete tong. Up to yesterday it looked like I ov day 23 but it changed its mind when i put in today's temp. Currently on day 30.
Is it correct that the only absolute way of confirming ov is temp increase? I got a +ve OPK and EW fluid but my temp went up ever so gradually.

Anyhow, will try to post last 2 charts here for comments - this is all new to me as i did nothing like this when trying for DD.

Ta.

digitalgirl · 12/10/2010 17:05

truffkin welcome Smile does look promising. And timing looks spot on too. Although to be absolutely sure I would keep going for a few more days till you get at least 3 or 4 days of high temps. FF thought I'd ovulated on cd19 then kept changing it's mind and finally settled on cd23. But then my pre-ov temps fluctuated a lot more than yours have so a temp jump for me didn't immediately mean ovulation had occurred.

Fingers crossed your temps stay high!

Truffkin · 12/10/2010 15:41

Hi ladies, I've headed over here on the advice of LadyGoneGaGa from the BESH thread as I've just started charting temps this cycle and was asking for advice yesterday, I've linked to my chart here and happily think I ovulated yesterday as my temp shot up this morning. Am hoping for further high temps to confirm this, but in my first cyle of taking temps am pleased it seems to be following some sort of usual pattern. Would be interested in your thoughts.

Last month I only had the iphone app but was not temping so this is really the only month to go on.

I'm sorry to be joining the thread at a sad time and hope it's not insensitive of me.

TerrysNo2 · 12/10/2010 12:12

are you really asking about my temps LadyG?!?! Wink

had a bit of a sore throat but nothing major. interesting to know all this can affect it though.

Glad I am not OV-in / or forecast to today - having a v stressful and shitty day. Sad

But alas, I will prevail! Grin

LadyGoneGaga · 12/10/2010 10:14

Or something the body might perceive as stressful - illness - cold/high temp, very strenuous exercise, any sudden fright? Can all make you decide to delay ovulating for a few days.

TerrysNo2 · 12/10/2010 09:56

LadyG I don't really do stress - not in my nature and life is pretty carefree at the moment - apart from the usual who does the washing up arguments and why can't there just be a bit more money in the bank. DS has been ill this year and I have been a bit worried that it will happen again (time for another episode based on previous intervals) but I didn't think it was bothering me.

Well, AF due next Monday - it'll be a long wait!!

LadyGoneGaga · 12/10/2010 07:11

Terrys with my first few cycles post DS (whne he was 20 months) I had two perfect 28 dayers. Then a 40 dayer. Go figure! Have you had anything really stressful that might have delayed ovulation lately?

TerrysNo2 · 11/10/2010 23:03

Thanks Ifatfirst and mummya - did a test but as usual a big fat negative. I guess I either didn't OV this month (how usual is that??) or I missed the LH surge. I think I will do 2 a day next month and see if that helps. I have 30 on the way from amazon so all stocked up!!

Ifatfirst my last cycle was 27 days but it was first cycle for 2.5 years (since PG with DS) so no idea if it will be the same again.

Will keep checking!!

MummyAbroad · 11/10/2010 19:57

Split how kind of you that you worry about others peoples hurt feelings in the midst of everything you are going through! You havent offended anyone, and I completely understand that Bobby is a real baby, not a fetus, and I think everyone else will too. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Terrys I personally pee on as many as I can afford to if I feel like its really going to help me work out whats going on! Having said that, that CM does sound like post ov CM, so perhaps feeling if your cervix is open or shut would give you better info?
