Hello all. Was wondering if you could help with a quick query ? can you get any meaningful information out of a BBT chart when you are going through a patch of really disturbed sleep? This month I have had a cold and am stressed out about moving house. I have been waking up at all hours and have often been unable to get back to sleep ? so have taken my temps accordingly. My chart is all over the place - here.

I think I ovulated on CD13, but FF seems as confused as me.

spilttheteaagain · 17/10/2010 23:36

I'm sorry Lady I do understand that, and it was probably an insensitive comment to make. I wasn't thinking. Hope you're ok and I haven't upset you.

LadyGoneGaga · 17/10/2010 21:19

TBH Spilt I don't think I could stand it if it was positive and I was bleeding. Too raw from the last mc still. Would rather not know if is a chemical or something. I will see what temp does tomorrow - from googling it doesn't seem that uncommon that some women still have high temps through period cos of residual progesterone. Should drift back down soon I reckon.

spilttheteaagain · 17/10/2010 20:42

LadyG I have to confess I haven't looked at your chart or anything, but if your temps are still high despite bleeding have you tried a pg test? (It might be a ridiculous thought, but knowing how some people have periods when pregnant it just crossed my mind!)

spilttheteaagain · 17/10/2010 20:37

Oh mouse what a rubbish weekend you've had Sad

Sorry to hear your DH is being more than a bit rubbish right now, that must make it all so much harder. I hope your mum is giving you lots of hugs and a shoulder to cry on.

Please do talk to us as well if you want to about how you're feeling. You aren't alone in your grief x

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 17/10/2010 20:06

Hahah Terrys, I did wonder about the cough medicine too but was too afraid to ask on here - googled it instead! Grin

LadyGoneGaga · 17/10/2010 19:36

You eat it Grin.

TerrysNo2 · 17/10/2010 18:35

Evening all

MrsA don't give up hope till you see AF, could be a dodgy temp?? Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

mouse your DH sounds very out of order, I hope he realises his selfishness soon and makes it up to you. Enjoy your alone time this evening!

LadyG silly q - but what do you do with the cough medicine, and evening primrose oil?? IYSWIM?!?! Blush

Ifatfirst I am not a charting expert at all but maybe you have to wait a few more days to get a bigger picture?

I am still AF-ing, can't wait for this week to be over so we can get on with SWI-ing! My temp went down again today so that indicates I did OV last month, but still don't know when!

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 17/10/2010 17:01

ooh, I might try the cough mixture tip - thanks lady!

LadyGoneGaga · 17/10/2010 16:03

I reckon day 14 but is conflicting that you had EWCM after this so could be day 15 or 16. Sorry, not v helpful!

You can use Robitussin cough medicine which thins the mucus and makes it easier for sperm to swim in. It has to be plain Robitussin though as other stuff will dry mucus up!

Also, can take evening primrose oil up until ovulation and drinking grapefruit juice meant to have an alkalising effect making it more sperm friendly.

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 17/10/2010 15:38

HI ladies!
Sorry about AF Terrys, and MrsA, it ain't over till it's over :)

mousebacon, it sounds as though you are having a horrendous time and your DH is behaving appallingly :( I hope the wine helps in some small way!

I took notice of the FE this month and DH SWI every other day from CD9. I'm now on CD17 and FF thinks I may have ov'd on 14 - but is still undecided. what do you think
I have made sure that I have taken my temp at the same time every morning, regardless so it is as acurate as possible!

I never seem to have any decent EWCM and am wondering if that is affecting my chances. Any tips on how to improve CM?
I had one day of slightly stretchy stuff this month and the following day it stretched a tiny bit, nothing like how is described in TCOYF, the rest of the time it's just creamy!

My best mate is also my TTC buddy & confidant and she reckons that this month is our month - wish I could share her optimism. :(

mousebacon · 17/10/2010 14:21

Thanks lady he is behaving like a dick! I was so pissed off with him last night. I've sent him and DS to the in laws for dinner so I can finally have some peace. DH does have temper issues and he rarely sees any disagreements we may have as his fault. He genuinely does not see what he's done wrong. Ugh. I know in a couple of days we'll be back to normal but it really irritates me that he thinks if he's 'ill' he can just 'opt out' and go to bed when I (and women in general) just have to suck it up and get on with life. We have had this conversation before but we just go round in circles. Glass of wine tonight me thinks.

I love him really and blame his mother almost entirely for his outrageously selfish behaviour. Grin

LadyGoneGaga · 17/10/2010 13:33

Mouse what do you mean DH says it's all your fault? WTF? To be honest it sounds like he is behaving like a massive dick. Emotionally it must have been hard on him too but much worse for you because you're going through it physically, your hormones are crashing and you've just had a GA for goodness sake. Big hugs, you need more support than this.

How disappointing, MrsA. I hope she stays away. My temps bizarrely are still up in spite of the full flow period that is going on.

mousebacon · 17/10/2010 12:29

Hi ladies, it all went as well as it could yesterday. It was a very sad feeling of 'this is the end' as I was wheeled down to theatre but at least I'm home now. I feel ok, the pain is totally manageable so hopefully back on my feet asap.

Unfortunately DH decided yesterday was the day he should be a total PITA and that I should understand he is tired too and that he had a sore head so we got back from hospital and he fell asleep. No big deal I suppose until it was really time to go and get DS and he announced he was 'too tired to deal with this' and went to bed! So, in my surgical stockings and 6 hours after a GA I had to drive to my mum's and get DS - so much for resting. I decided to stay there but would it have been so hard for DH to suck it up and look after me? It's not like I've been sitting on my arse, I was back to cooking/cleaning/childcare 2 days after the MC...grrrr!!! Angry

Ah, sorry, rant over....

DH still says it's all my fault. I may kill him!

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 17/10/2010 11:55

As Hugh Grant said in 4 Weddings....fuck fuck fuck

Temp plummeted this morning here so feeling very down and stupid, fully expecting the evil witch to arrive today.
I did this when we were trying to conceive DD. Convinced myself each month I was pg.

Sigh...not a good day and DP away so I have to keep happy mummy face on. I also feel a bit of a fraud as we already have a wonderful DD but I hate the thought of her growing up alone.

TerrysNo2 · 16/10/2010 18:28

but do you know the history of it - who is this Aunt Flo and why did she get the burden of being the Witch of the Red Tide of Doom?!?! Grin

LadyGoneGaga · 16/10/2010 17:44

AF = Aunt Flow. A little twee but pretty ubiquitous terminology on t'internet. We prefer RTD though...Red Tide of Doom. Or the witch. Or the droid. Or various other legion names.

TerrysNo2 · 16/10/2010 17:26

BTW - why is AF called AF?!!?

Thanks spilt may have to go out and buy some sexy underwear!! Wink

At least the ridiculously skinny jeans I bought myself yesterday will fit for a while longer (although must stop eating a "I'll get fat anyway if I'm PG diet"!!

Well done on remembering to temp today - I think its just a routine thing and once you've done it a few days it becomes second nature. I do mine at 6.45am.

LadyGoneGaga · 16/10/2010 15:27

And for got to say chart looking good, MrsA!

LadyGoneGaga · 16/10/2010 15:26

The witch got me yesterday as well Sad. Curiously temps are still up but I think it might just take a few days to catch up.

Hope things go ok for you this weekend, Mouse

spilttheteaagain · 16/10/2010 14:48

Terrys if I was you I would SWI every other day from when you start seeing something approximating fertile CM. From your cycle just finished that's about CD10, but it might be a few days different next time. It looks like you must have ov'd somewhere between CD14 and CD19. Hopefully next month with a full set of data it will be a bit clearer. Hope you're ok today, CD1 is always a crappy one.

Whenisitmyturn · 16/10/2010 14:04

Mouse I hope things go well for you today and that you are treated kindly.

Spilt big hugs for you darling.

TerrysNo2 · 16/10/2010 13:48

TerrysNo2 · 16/10/2010 13:47

On the bright side, I think I must have OV-ed as temp also shot down this am [http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/315eb3 Look here]] and at least I haven't waited long for AF to come so we can chart this month properly!

Think I will do 2 OPK's a day but even if I get -ive's still SWI every other day from CD10. Does that sound like a good idea?

spilt I hope you are feeling ok today.

mouse lots of love for today - hope it goes smoothly and painfree for you and your DH. As spilt said, we will be thinking of you

spilttheteaagain · 16/10/2010 12:23

I did remember to temp at 7am and was quite pleased with myself for it.

mouse thinking of you today and praying that you're treated kindly and the procedure is swift and you aren't in pain. I'm sure it'll be a long, hard and tiring day for you and DH. We're thinking of you x

Life can be very rubbish sometimes. Missing my baby a lot.
