Hiya,

I put August as its a little late for July!

I'm TTC number 4(!)

Due to test on the 15th August but don't think we have much chance this month as its only our first and DH has been ill for a few days and now I've got the bug, so not much romance happening!

So just wonderded if anyone is just starting TTC and wanted to join me?

Liz leave them! I know it would be difficult, it drives me mad when something is not where it should be, but if it gets the message through, hopefully it will be worth it. Just try it from now til the weekend :)
We are so the same, I must have yoghurts coming out of my ears!! Eating 2 normal pots, but that only cos I am restricting myself!
Between yoghurts, fruit and cereal (and the odd lemon and sugar pancake) I am sorted :) Having a proper meal in the evening though.

I weighed myself yesterday, and for some reason I seem to be back to my pre-pregnancy weight despite feeling bloated, very confused Confused

Madkatz glad your appetite back too. Any cravings yet?

Bugger, just been bidding on something on ebay, while writing this and lost by 20p!!

Keep smiling all Grin

lizandlulu · 03/02/2011 09:09

klou i have thoguht about leaving all of his cloths on the bathroom floor where he leaves them, he peels off 1 pair of boxers, 1 pair of long johns and 2 pairs of socks and somehow manages to leave them all inside each other so i have to go and seperate everything.

but that would mean having a great pile of unwashed clothes on the floor for days, not sure if i could leave it there all that time. what would you do?

madkatz i am glad your appetite is coming back, are you eating the same things as usual?

i ahve really got a fetish for yoghurts at the min. i get through 4 at a time petit filous cause they are olny tinyGrin and love trying all of these fancy yoghurts like lemon curd which is delish!

MadKatz · 03/02/2011 06:49

Oh Liz, hope you're ok.

Starting to get my appetite back a little bit now Grin

KLou111 · 02/02/2011 21:21

Oh hun, I hope you're OK. I don't think they realise how much work being pregnant is when you have another little one to look after. Between trying to rest cos you're constantly knackered, and spending time with your little one, you've got no time for you. Perhaps you should not do anything and see if he then clicks how much you do do :)

I'm sure your 2nd one, you can feel earlier, I can't wait, but apparently I won't feel anything til 20+ weeks :( Plasticine baby lol!

Take care, and don't take any shit!!

lizandlulu · 02/02/2011 20:32

i think the 3d ones are best at about 26-28 weeks, when the baby has enough fat down to make it look like it will do when it comes out, dont hold me to it though!

oyu know what, all this testing confuses me, i ahve agreed to anything that they reccomend, i would always want to know sooner rather than later if something was wrong, and last week when i went for a scan they tried to take a measurment of the fliud from the back of the babies neck, and they also took some blood which the results combined will come back with a percentage result of the chances of downs, thats how i understood it anyway. i am going to get the results in a letter but dont know how long that will take.

i am sure i am starting to feel this baby move, even thought i know i am only 14 weeks, i am sure of it. on saturday dd was playing with a friend and i was sat on the sofa for around an hour, not moving (very rare!) and felt the flutterings, only for a split second and havent felt anything more till today when i have felt it again. i know the difference between trapped wind anda baby and am 100% sure its the baby.

i told my best friend who was sat next to me (childless best friend) who said 'moving???? you can feel it moving????' like she tohught it was just some plastacine baby inside me that stays still all the timeGrin

on another note dh is really pissing me off. now i know i am raging with hormones and can be stroppy with it, but he is really not making any effort at all to take the strain off me. he is such a busy person with work and is hobby and helping other people that i come second and he just swans off doing as he pleases leaving me to cope with dd every night. its not that shes naughty or anything, more just a handful, but i am dead on my feet by the time she goes to sleep. he also wont do anything round the house at all, wont even put his clothes in the wash basket or do a spot of washing up.
its really getting me down, i have tried to talk to him but it always ends in a screaming match about he goes to work all hours of the day.
please dont tell me what you would and wouldnt do with him, i know what i h vae got to do to make a change, but i just keep putting it off and simmering till i blow and blow i willSad
when we started trying for a baby i said that as soon as i got pg i wanted him in the house after work untill dd went to bed, then he could do as he pleases, which lasted for all of about 4 days.

sorry for the rantSad

KLou111 · 02/02/2011 18:50

DH wants a 3d one one too, one of the first things he said the day we found out we were preggars. Priorities and all that :). Our nearest one is Swansea, about 30 mins away, so got to look into that to see when we can have one. Think it's quite late on.

Order has been despatched, will get filling my box hopefully tomorrow :) Winnie prints, plug blanks and bath thermo turned up today, oooooo it's so exciting :)

Can't believe am almost a third of the way through Shock

Anyone been having/having the downs tests? We don't get one til end Feb, we don't get a nuchal offered here, only the bloods at 16-18 weeks.

lizandlulu · 02/02/2011 09:28

no we arent finding out either. dh does want to know though and wants one of those 3d scans when i get bigger, although i will have to instruct the sonographer to stay away from that area! i dont know why i am so set against knowing cause it would amke buying stuff so much easier, but i just think it makes it much less of a suprise for everybody.

i am going to make a list of what i need and what i already have. most of my baby stuff is in a room at the tops of my mums house so i will have to have a look what i have got and whats gone mouldyGrin

Iwish · 01/02/2011 21:41

I like the icoo prams too klou. I want the full travel system with absolutely everything in. DPs mum has decided she will but the pram, yey! They have some nice nursery furniture and travel cots etc. Its not far from me so I hope I can go and gave a loot at the actual shop.

Liz I'm going to take note of your words of wisdom. - my words of wisdom are 'try the pram in your boot to make sure it fits'

KLou111 · 01/02/2011 20:54

lol Liz. Not finding out as DH doesn't want to know, I do as I don't want to buy white, yellow, cream everything, but happy to buy the coloured stuff when little one here. Another excuse for more shopping!! Don't think DH has clicked to that one yet Wink

Like the beige one. Know what you mean about the wheels. They do another one, NEW HAUCK i'COO PEAK 8 PUSHCHAIR-CARRYCOT-CAR SEAT, front wheels bit narrower. You do seem to get quite a bit for your money.

lizandlulu · 01/02/2011 20:27

your gonna need more than a box for all that stuffGrin

just googled that i'coo pushchair and it looks lovely, not too dear for all that clobber either, what colours are you thinking? are you going to find out what you are having? (if i get asked that one more time i am gonna screamGrin)

it looks abit wide on the wheels though for my liking, i had a proper pram with dd and it was wide and i found it hard to get rond the isles in shops with it.

also make sure that when you do go to shops to road test the pushchairs, rmemeber to factor in weight in it when it gets bigger. all these pushchair shops have really smooth floors which can fool you into thinking it is the smoothest ride ever, till you get it on mormal road.

there is my wisdom of the dayGrin treasure it cause you wont get no moreGrin

KLou111 · 01/02/2011 20:17

Online4baby is where I've seen the pram combo I want Iwish, it's the NEW HAUCK i'COO PLATON 8 PUSHCHAIR-CARRYCOT-CAR SEAT, but I want to look in the shops first before I just jump in! But that's the kind of thing I want.

I love ebay!! But just bought all this lot from George as postage was only £2.95. Got my baby box started now, and it only cost £40!!

Know what you mean about feeling stuff Liz, this is just the start stuff Grin

Towy river down the road from us Gruffalo lol

lizandlulu · 01/02/2011 19:48

i buy quite alot off ebay, its great!

ohh madkatz that sounds great, meeting up!

i have found a pushchair/pram that i love too, its a obaby zynergi 3tec in the purpl black but itsn ot out till march. will have to wait till then to go to kiddicare and road test it, god i am so so excited about going there, its only 40 mins away but not open on sundaysSad

klou that really is alot!!!!Grin i love to buy stuff in shops too though, i like to feel stuffGrin and asda have the most gorgeous muslins in pink and blu with starts and hearts on ,but seeing as we are not going to find out what it is i will have to wait.

i have decided to put £10 a week away to have a spending spree when it does come..waahhheeeyyyyGrin

Iwish · 01/02/2011 19:25

Lol towys gruffalo!

Have a look at this shop. It seems to have some good prices, I was having a nosey the other day.

stores.ebay.co.uk/Online4baby.

GruffaloMama · 01/02/2011 19:08

toys, not towys... (sounds like a welsh town)

GruffaloMama · 01/02/2011 19:07

wow Klou that's some speedy shopping! Grin

NCT is the National Childbirth Trust. Local branches arrange events which anyone can go to) including nearly new sales. They also have really good helplines (again open to anyone) - I've used the Breastfeeding Support line and the early pregnancy one. Will try to dig out the web link but it might need to wait as DS needs to go to bed... Here it is: NCT - you can search for your local brach and events there I think...

I do use ebay - especially for towys but I also got a lot of cot bedding from it which was brill and saved a fortune.

Iwish · 01/02/2011 18:31

Ok klou step away from the computer lol!!

I can't say anything I was looking at prams :). Will stay away from ordering though until after my scan in what feels like a million years.

I hope you all have fun at the baby shows, I hope they have one round my neck of the woods.

Do any of you ladies use eBay?

KLou111 · 01/02/2011 15:39

God, I've gone crazy!

Just ordered
6 white sleeveless bodysuits (3 each of first 2 sizes),
6 white baby sleep suits (3 each first 2 sizes),
3 cream embroidered bodysuits,
6 muslin cloths,
2 teddy fleece blankets,
2 pairs scratch mitts,
6 pairs socks,
1 teddy hooded towel,
2 hats (I love my Mummy/I love my Daddy),
10 bibs
and a partridge in a pear treeeeeeeee! (OK so not the partridge).

Found a pram/pushchair/car seat combo that I like, and also the nursery furniture (white).

God, someone stop me!!!!! Grin Grin Grin

KLou111 · 01/02/2011 13:28

Will keep it in mind if we are back in the Midlands around then. Think I would end up spending a fortune though!! Typical, the NEC only used to be a short train journey for me before we moved to Wales :)

MadKatz · 01/02/2011 13:00

Cool, we'll have to check if we're going on the same day and maybe meet there for a coffee?

lizandlulu · 01/02/2011 12:54

yes i think i am going to go to that one, i will feel justified in going to that one, i thought about going to the february one but thought it was too early!

MadKatz · 01/02/2011 10:38

Gruffalo - whats NCT?

DH and I are planning to go to the Baby Show at the NEC in Birmingham 20th-22nd May. Anyone else interested?

GruffaloMama · 01/02/2011 07:49

Hi all. Madkatz great that you're family and friends are excited. It's lovely to be able to share it. My mum's been unwell and our news has really cheered her up - she's much brighter and already planning things... Iwish hope you get your antenatal clinic appointment soon. It feels like ages to get to the firs scan but it is so exciting.

Klou thanks for the nappy tip off - will do it later. I have to confess I bought a moses basket from Mamas and Papas in their sale just after the 12 week scan. We borrowed one for DS and as so much of this little bean's stuff will be hand-me-downs, I wanted to get something that was new to him/her... Has been making me very clucky... no pram to buy etc but do need to kit out the spare bedroom for DS. Have to decide between a dinosaur, train, plane or boat theme. He's lobbying for dinosaurs... BTW I got some lovely vests and babygrows from Sainsbury's when DS was newborn. Not quite as cheap as Asda but were still way cheaper than mothercare etc and good material. Also have you thought about checking out your nearest NCT nearly new sales? there's often one in March /April. And for anything you don't mind havng second-hand they're brill. I got a baby bjorn babycarrier for DS in really good condition for £10 when I was up the duff with him... And if you join (maybe to do antenatal classes) you get in to the sale 15 mins before everyone else. Gotta go supposed to be working...

Iwish · 31/01/2011 21:52

Awww klou bet it felt lovely buying things for the baby :). Are you excited for when you can buy the pram and nursery furniture?

We are watching one born every minute. I'll be crying soon! Dp still gets a bit squeamish bless him.

KLou111 · 31/01/2011 20:51

Know I'm getting away with myself, but just wanted to buy SOMETHING with some relevance to little one. Just bought 3 Winnie the Pooh canvas prints for nursery, a Winnie the Pooh bath thermometer and 12 plug socket blank things, ha ha! Going to start my baby box :) won't be such a blow to have to spend a fortune when little one gets here :) (I did this for our Wedding over 18 months, so it spread the cost a bit)
George are doing multi pack baby grows and vests etc too, very reasonable, we don't have an Asda, so will see if anywhere else does them x

Iwish · 31/01/2011 18:21

Hi madkatz. I'm ok thanks, boobs are sore on and off and still have a few cramps but all in all I'm good :). How are you?
I saw my doctor and he just referred me to the antenatal
Clinic. He only saw me because I just made an appt and didn't tell them why on the phone (I have an underactive thyroid which is worrying me) Roll on 12 weeks so we can see the little one!!

Big waves and hugs to klou Liz and gruffalo :)
