I'm currently feeling very confident that I'm not going to fall into the testing-too-early trap. Going to wait until a week after my ERTD is due shines halo smugly. And if you believe that you'll believe anything!!You can all say I told you so next weekend, but I think I will play the odds game.

So - only one valid shag, day after OV, first ever attempt. Ummmm - 1 in 100? Wonder what the odds actually are . Hooray, I've found something else to google to while away the time:)

On the box of the First Responce says 64% accurate up to 6 days before your period and costing that much for that low a percentage I dont think its worth it if you can hold off as I know loads of mates who had an early negitive only to have a positive later on.

Ona cost saving note Tesco own tests are on offer at 3 for a 2 pack as DH bought some yesterday for "when we can"

mummy abroad - i feel the need to test all the time too, the cost used to put me off as i was buying them and costing around a tenner a time (this was with dd) but have only tested once in 8 weeks this time round. our wilko's tests are only £5.70 for 2!! but still think i am being silly and do something to take my mind off it.

hiya bobbitybob and deysee, its lovely to have others to talk to about ttc, dh is not all that interested or helpful, even though he wanted another baby more than me! and best mate doesnt have kids and is not broody in the slightest, also my mum isnt really interested, she thinks i am slightly crazy for wanting another baby seeing as dd is what you would call a brat spirited child

We've been TTC #1 for 3 months but no luck so far. Husband is semi pro athlete and trains til late at night, when I'm tired and not really in the mood.Weekends are no existent between now and the spring too - HELP!

Like many of you I have no one to talk to about it as we want to keep it quiet until we hit the jackpot. Its nice to know I'm not alone :)

I am slightly concerned that my shopaholic tendancies may overtake me completely once I'm preggers and massively hormonal. When my sister was pregnant I bought her a 'weekly present' so think I may have to do the same for myself

I'd like to join the August thread ( this is my first ever post!!) If we were to be technical this is probably my second month of ttc as my coil came out in june and we weren't too careful in July but offically this is the first month.

I found you all trying to resist the urge to test. I have lot's of gynae troubles and have been warned I may never conceive but I refuse to believe it just yet. I have to try for a while. According to the calender I should have ovulated around the 1st August and period was due on 15th August. I have been nauseated for the last week or so and the only thing that seems to help is ready salted crisps!! I tested on Sunday and got a negative but still no period. Just nauseous with sore breasts and incredibly hungry. Thinking I may test again on Thursday!

It's nice to meet you all and finally have someone to share this with as hubby and I decided not to tell anyone as I couldn't cope with everyone asking me if I'm pregnant yet.

Everyone at work is asking if I'm pregnant already!?! I guess it might take a while so not stressing out too much at the moment, but enjoying the trying as is DH :o

lizandlulu I just got my first bfn, although to be honest I just thought maybe and tested anyway. It's going to be hard to resist testing a lot, and now every little thing I used to ignore (ie feeling weird or a bit sick) is going to make me wonder if I'm pg.

AF came this morning i really thought that after nearly 2 years off the pill i would get pg straight away. i know its unreasonable to expect that but cant help it

Hi , can I join? Came off the pill end of May but we are only now seriously TTC#1. Still trying to get used to all the lingo and everything, but its getting easier. Beginning to understand my cycle now after a mixed 6 weeks after coming off the pill.

cowboy lover, i went into mammas and pappas over the weekend and started to drool i have seen the first purchase i am going to make when i get pregnant well actually i am torn betweeen 2 blankets, can i justify spending £70 on 2 blankets????

SOOOOOO excited. Been with my hubby 13 years and never thought we would ever 'get here' but both now want to start to TTC.

I'm 30 and he's 36 so think it's time!

Been on the pill since I was 17, so hoping that won't work against us too much as don't want to wait too long. Just want a bubba now!!!!

Went to the docs as missing period they think due to stress but we have now decided to start trying for our 1st! Its all so exciting and we have said that we dont want to tell anyone at all but I did tell my Mum as I was swarming around all the cute baby stuff in John Lewis on the weekend instead of my usual handbag fetish but she can keep a secret and I might need her support x

I am 35, just starting ttc number two after a miscarriage bit scared of going through it all again, but also it feels nice to be back in the "hopeful" trying stage. I feel a mixture of relief and dispointment if I test negative! I want it and I dont! Anyone else feeling the same?

to beckie90, Eskarina and TotorosOcarina, if you get the BFP and are still scared about birth then I cant recommend This book enough.

It will "de-brain wash you" of all your negative thoughts about birth! I had a natural and very easy delivery with my first and credit this book for it.

Purplehippo - like you I've been gradually persuaded by my DH who has managed to convince me that being a career girl doesn't mean kids are out of the question. So I've gone from no kids for me thanks to ok we'll see what happens to (now) I want it to happen immediately!

I was using Implanon (8 years) and had it removed 3 weeks ago, since then I've lost almost a stone in weight, become less mood-swingy and my libido has gone through the roof. Wish I'd done it years ago!

morning people when ttc with dd i camr off the pill and it took 6 months to get preganant. i started to worry there was something wrong, but it did happen in the end, it just takes some time to get out your system, althugh everyone is different arent they.

i am still showing no signs of ovulation, but period due thurs/fri so am abit confused this month. dont know if i have missed my fertile window but been having lots of sex!
