Hiya,

I put August as its a little late for July!

I'm TTC number 4(!)

Due to test on the 15th August but don't think we have much chance this month as its only our first and DH has been ill for a few days and now I've got the bug, so not much romance happening!

So just wonderded if anyone is just starting TTC and wanted to join me?

Hi lovely ladies! Hope you are all ok?

Thought I would drop in and see you all. Glad you are all getting on well feeling kicks gruffalo klou and Liz and your midwife sounds lovely madkatz

well I have been feeling sick every day all day for about 3/4 days. Luckily not been sick but have to keep eating biscuits or sucking ice to make the sickness go away. Lovely lol. Keep telling myself it's reassurance that the little one is ok.

lizandlulu · 12/02/2011 20:17

klou wwwhhhooooaaa there you steady on!!Grin we always want what we cant have Grin well i suppose you could have some, abit wont do any harm. i am firmly in the camp of no drinking at all, but only cause i dont drink hardly at all anyway so its no big deal for me to not drink, but i know of pg women who do abit, i am sure you can have the odd glass? or even half glass??

KLou111 · 12/02/2011 19:24

Hope you're OK Liz, I get the odd ache in my lower belly, I have just been putting it down to everything stretching etc, hope that's what it is. You can ask on Tuesday if you're unsure.

I have a confession....i've just had the tiniest sip of DH's cider and now I want the whole bottle!! Been 'sober' since 11 Nov except a little bucks fizz at Chrimbo. I'm not a big drinker, but that was goooooooooood! Grin

lizandlulu · 11/02/2011 17:24

sometimes i get a dull ache in my abdomen, and got that pain in my neck the other day, just everything makes you think twice.

i did 2 sex prediction quizzes and one said a boy and one said a girl! one of them has to be rightGrin

KLou111 · 11/02/2011 16:30

Well, I have just done about 6 different sex predictors, and all of them reckon I am having a girl, we'll see!! :)

KLou111 · 11/02/2011 15:31

Ah, glad everything fine Gruffalo, must have been so nice to hear the hearbeat :)
28 weeks does sound a long way off!! But at least you've got your scan to look forward to now in between.

What pains are you getting Liz? I had cramp last night, then I ate dinner and it went, so I just put it down to that. Know what you mean about being worried about it all the time though, the slightest little niggle and I am Googling!!

lizandlulu · 11/02/2011 13:34

28 weeks sounds like such a long time inbetween appointments doesnt it, glad everything is fine though.

its odd getting pains here there and everywhere, you cant help wondering if its normal or something more.

GruffaloMama · 11/02/2011 11:13

Hi Madkatz glad you're okay and the midwife sounds good. Keep an eye on the boob thing - could just be stretching and growing but sometimes you can get thrush there (it's the milk ducts starting to work). I've not had it but I've heard it's really painful.

Loving the belly gallery photos. Feeling less like a heffalump now (I thought I'd gone huge but think I'm more middle of the road). Liz ref DH feeling the movements - I am no slim sally (usually a podgy curvy size 16-18). But this baby is a right old wriggler so I just waited until it was having a dance then DH put his hand quite firmly against my lower belly and he could feel the vibrations.

Just had my 16 week check. All fine and I heard the heart beat - only after a bit of fumbling but the midwife wasn't worried as the baby kicked the ultrasound monitor a couple of times before she could get the beat. Also she told me that my blood-pressure was fine - but I should keep taking iron tablets in case it's anaemia causing the dizziness (and take it a bit easier). Have to go see the consultant next week, 20 week scan in early March and then not back to the midwife until 28 weeks.

MadKatz · 11/02/2011 07:39

Hello Ladies,

Sorry I haven't been on for a while. All sorts of symptoms happening and some days nothing at all, from just cramps to a little nauseous and the other day I had a horrendous stabbing pain in my left boob Blush which lasted 24 hours. It's all new to me so guessing this is all normal? I do worry on the days I don't feel anything though.
Spoke to the midwife last week she sounds lovely. I have to go and see her when I'm about 8 weeks so booked in for middle of March and then we'll get scan date organised Smile

KLou111 · 10/02/2011 21:53

Next scan I meant

KLou111 · 10/02/2011 21:44

awwwwww I want a belly!! They look lovely, they vary so much dependant on size and build. I am going to have a look on scan to see if I can see the sex now :)

lizandlulu · 10/02/2011 21:23

and there is a belly gallery tooGrin

lizandlulu · 10/02/2011 21:16

oohh have a look here pregnancy.about.com/od/boyorgirl/a/girlboyultras.htm i have had a look at the scan pics and i cant make out anything really but fun to guessGrin

lizandlulu · 10/02/2011 20:09

nice to hear from you gruffalomama how lovely that your dh could feel the baby. cause i have always had a big fat belly i dont remember dh feeling it till quite far gone. there is too much fat getting in the wayGrin

i hope you dont get anymore fainting episodes. its all alot of strain on your body, might just be that?

i need to ask my midwife about this bloody thrush. i still have it, although it did go away for a couple of weeks, but now its back and driving me mad. i still dont have a maternity exemption card either, got to get midwife to sign the from on tues then wait for it to arrive. not that i need anything but you never know!

KLou111 · 10/02/2011 18:48

Thanks for that Gruffalo will have a look. I've heard of baby naming ceremonies, just not sure where we can go for that, will have a bit more of a look.

Just felt baby again Grin, got a right little dancer!!

GruffaloMama · 10/02/2011 18:32

Liz that sounds so sore. Hope you're feeling a bit better and get better sleep tonight. I'm getting more movements more often too - DH managed to feel it a couple of nights ago. I think it had hiccups!
We're struggling to get DS's room sorted so we can then redecorate his old room as the nursery. Just got his big boy bed. Can't believe how fast it's all gone. Also thinking about putting in a bathroom downstairs (have just a a shower room upstairs at the mo) so lots of things to do before bean arrives! Am not very organised (have to be v organised at work so rubbish at home) so dreading getting it all sorted. I just want to wave a wand and have it all done... :)

Klou you can have a non-religious baby naming day even if you don't have a christening. The humanist society have some ideas for the 'service - but you don't need a qualified person to do it. Here's a link - they have a booklet for £6 to give you some ideas.

Madkatz and iwish is everything okay - have you got any dates through yet for your scans?

I have my 16 week MW check tomorrow (think I'm 17 weeks but I told you I wasn't organised...) Will have to take DS as his childminder is closed. Really hope I can hear the baby's heart beat. Am going to ask her about feeling faint. I nearly passed out yesterday evening - had had a long day and dinner at work and just about keeled over about 10pm. I know it wasn't blood sugar cos I'd just had a big dinner. Better go and sort out DS for bed - sorry for massive post.

lizandlulu · 10/02/2011 18:31

it might be a nice idea to take the cake there if you do do that? it sounds lovely

KLou111 · 10/02/2011 15:36

Well, not planning to decorate nursery here or furnish it til about 7 months, but then we've got a lot of other stuff to do before hand. So not sure what to suggest Liz, but I'd perhaps leave the stuff at your parents until you need it.

We're not having a Christening as we're not religious at all (even though my Dad mentioned it VERY briefly in passing, and we didn't say anything. Think it was as I mentioned we still had the top tier of our wedding cake, and he said it could be used as a christening cake or something like that). DH nor his brother were christened as his Dad said if they want to be christened/baptised, they can do it themselves when they're older! lol!

We would like a party of some sort though for little one's arrival :) Might go to where we got married, as they have a smaller function room and it is such a gorgeous place.

lizandlulu · 10/02/2011 15:08

i know everything feels like it is going slow, but then i am 4 months on monday so in another way it is going quick!

i dont know when to start to do the babys room. i know what colours and everything, but yet to decide on furniture. i dont want to start bringing all my baby stuff home from mum and dads if we are going to have to skirt round it to decorate.

also been thinking about the christening (already i know)! when we had dd done she was nearly 1 and i want this one to be new ish wehn we do it, and i dont really want a party as such, maybe just take a small group of family and friends for something to eat after but cant seem to rack my brains for anywhere suitable.

its also been squirming againGrin i am getting used to it now and it doesnt make me feel squimish anymore and even happend when i am standing up, not just sitting down!

KLou111 · 10/02/2011 15:01

ow Liz that sounds painful!!
OOOOOO 16 week appointment, so exciting!! Seems to be going so quickly!

Reminded DH I was 14 weeks today, and his response was, 'oh shit, it's going quick isn't it?' He's trying to do our house up, and he is doing 1 step forward, 2 steps back bless him.
I've got my appointment 2 weeks today on the 24th yay!

Any scans/appointments booked yet Iwish and Madkatz??

lizandlulu · 10/02/2011 09:15

morning ladies, i wasnt on last night, i had a really horribe shooting pain down the back of my neck, so went to bed really ealry. my reasoning being if i am asleep i wont feel it. but turned out to be the wort night sleep ever! i didnt go to sleep till after midnight, but i was too tired to get up and make a hot drink or anything like thatSad

i have got to see the midwife on tuesday for my 16 week appointment, i am hoping she will listen to the heatbeat.

KLou111 · 08/02/2011 17:41

That's awful Liz. I watched an abortion video when I was about 15, and it showed you all sorts of gruesome things. I would never ever have had an abortion if the moment came after seeing that.
If you go to bounty.com, you can see what the little foetus looks like there :)

Lol with comparing your belly.

I can't wait to have a bump. My Dad is retiring/65 mid March and we're all going out to a place called Coombe Abbey down the road from them for his retirement/65th. You get to dress up for a medieval dinner, which will be fab. I said to mum today though, I'll be 20+2 when the time comes, so hopefully I'll have a bump by then so may have to delay renting my costume til we get there!

lizandlulu · 08/02/2011 17:24

to be honest it makes me feel abit odd! to feel it squirming about is just odd!

oh, i dont know weather to tell you or not, but i googled 'pictures of 15 week pregnant bellies', just to see if there was any pics of other people so i can compare to myself, and came across a 15 week old foetusShock but outside the body if you see what i mean, it was awful, why would anyone put it on there? just a word of warning DO NOT LOOK. i am not squemish, but i had to click it offSad

GruffaloMama · 08/02/2011 16:41

DS was forceps. Two midwives held me down and the registrar had his feet up braced against the end of the bed. But it didn't pull ds's head off (was a bit bruised). Babies are a lot tougher than you might think.

Klou def sounds like baby feelings. I felt this one at about 13 weeks. It's the best feeling, isn't it? I love feeling it move at work and just knowing that it's wiggling around. I think they say you feel the first one later because with future pregs you know what to expect. It's a bit less lovely when you get a kick in the bladder at 38 weeks. More like a mule than a butterfly by then.

KLou111 · 08/02/2011 16:11

Oh the forceps!!! How they don't crush the baby's head? Or rip it off even!!

Spoke to mum just (retired MW) and she said what I felt probably is very well the baby. She said a lot a people get that feeling but don't realise what it is. I told her where it was, and she said it was most likely the baby. Oh my God, I felt my baby!!!!!
As I am writing this, I am getting that feeling again, it's unreal!!! Can't wait to feel him/her more :)
