Hiya,

I put August as its a little late for July!

I'm TTC number 4(!)

Due to test on the 15th August but don't think we have much chance this month as its only our first and DH has been ill for a few days and now I've got the bug, so not much romance happening!

So just wonderded if anyone is just starting TTC and wanted to join me?

Sorry you're not feeling great KLou.

no news here yet, still BD'ing as CM still showing and then wait to test.

Want it to happen but not sure it will this month as both DH and I have had colds and dont feel like doing anything

lizandlulu · 19/12/2010 20:22

sorry your not feeling well klou hopefully it wont be for long. i think i have lost weight this week from not eating proper evening meals, i just cant face them.

on a brighter note, mamas and papas have had a sale this weekend which i have only just found out about. i wasnt going to buy anything till after the 12 week scan, but those 2 blankets i was on about weeks ago were in the sale, so have bought them. and a shirt type top. only looked in those areas tho, didnt want to tempt myself by looking at anything else

KLou111 · 19/12/2010 15:06

Ditto Liz, jealous Gruffalo!!

Did our Xmas food shop yesterday as it was bad snow so knew would be quiet. Was in Tesco and said to DH, we?ve got to go, I feel like shit. It was just all the hustle and bustle. It was quieter than normal, but still quite busy. My head was spinning and I felt as though at any minute I was going to throw up! Bought some ginger nut biscuits and felt so much better!!

I?m feeling sicky and achy in the day, but not being sick, cannot sleep all the way through the night either which is driving me mad, as I LOVE my sleep!! Got to 3am (fell asleep at 9:30pm!!) and that was it til about 6. Suppose I?d better get use to the lack of though lol!

Normally, DH would not have been impressed with my falling asleep so early on a Saturday night, but we had a 'little chat' yesterday and he told me he is not a mind reader and I have got to tell him how I am, how I am feeling and what is going on with my body etc as he hasn't got a clue. I apologised for falling asleep so early, he laughed and he said what am I apologising for??? You're pregnant! Was very sweet.

Have since bought him the book 'The Expectant Dad's Survival Guide'!!

lizandlulu · 19/12/2010 14:17

hey grufflao, glad you are feeling better, i am feeling worse! i feel ok in the mornings, then get worse all day till i feel awful in the evenings. yesterday i was at a wedding and had to leave at 7pm, just felt really sicky and had to come home, went to bed at half 8, i reasoned if i was alseep i couldnt feel sickXmas Smile slept all night solid till dd woke at 7 to open the bloody advent calendar aaarrrggghhhhhh!

GruffaloMama · 18/12/2010 22:22

Hi all - star sorry to hear you've not been lucky yet - will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Thanks to all ref work - I just can't help feeling a bit guilty. But I didn't take the job knowing I was preg (Ov'ed on 31 Oct, accepted job on 30 Oct). So I should just get over myself.

Life here is fine - am 9+4 now and not exactly 'showing' but very definitely am a lot thicker around the waist. Feeling a bit less pukey which is great but now eating lots. Gagging to get through the next few days at work and then have 10 days off. Hurray!

lizandlulu · 16/12/2010 17:10

klou ahh i get youBlush

hiya starisonthetree sorry you have had no luck yet, keep going!

just looking on the net for a tiramisu recipe cause i have lost mine, and it just dawned on me, i cant have it cause of the raw eggShock might just leave them out anyway, i cant remember mine having eggs in, just the marscapone and custard mixed together.

so think of all the tiramisu, wine, stilton and pate you can have!

Starisonthetree · 16/12/2010 16:19

Posted on her a while ago as Eaglewings. Seems like there has been some very positive news since I last looked Xmas Grin

Sadly no luck for us yet, had to wait 31 days rather than 28 to get the bad news.

Trying to think of good reasons not to be pregnant over Christmas and other than not having to avoid pate and wine am not sure there are many...

Anyway, congratulations to those of you who have had a bfp, keep telling us how its going

KLou111 · 16/12/2010 15:29

It is a lump sum Liz I was just breaking it down, if they want you to use it to eat healthy, £4.75 isn't much really, not that I would complain lol, as would prob put it toward a pram :)

lizandlulu · 16/12/2010 14:58

iwish hope you do ov this week! and feel better form sore throat!

madkatz that is some christmas holiday! you lucky bugger, i have got to go to work inbetween christmas and new yearXmas Sad

klou i will have to ask about that form next time i go in, i didnt realise the £190 would be paid in weekly amounts, wont miss it thenXmas Grin thought it would be one lump sum, i should be so lucky! it says on my leaflet that it can be used to stay healthy or for anything you wish. (in other words, liek anyone is going to buy friut and veg with it, more like put it towards something for babyXmas Hmm) which is exactly what i would be doing with it, if i do get it. no one is oging to buy healthy stuff just cause they give you the money for it would they? cause i know i wouldnt. i suppose a voucher would be a better idea if the governmet really wanted you to buy that sort of thing?

KLou111 · 16/12/2010 14:25

Oh Liz you just mad me have the biggest chuckle. Poor DH, like you have said before, we don't need em now!! Lol. Been making a bit of an effort on that front every couple of days, although when we did 'it' last night, it bloody hurt as DH kept hitting my cervix I think (DH just thinks his willy has got bigger!!! I'll let him have that) :)

Filled out that NHS form at the Docs on Monday. I too have never claimed in my life, so it will be a bit odd getting stuff for nothing. Re the £190 thing, I have read about that too and apparently this government are phasing it out by the end of January 2011, and you have to be 25 weeks or more to claim so we may be losing out there. TBH though, how the hell will £4.75 per week help with a healthy pregnancy??? Might have help towards a new pram though!!

MW rang this morning, she's gonna try and do my booking visit in between Xmas and New Year, but may be New Year. Then my scan will be booked then for 12-14 weeks. Can't bloody wait!!

MadKatz · 16/12/2010 13:24

yeah am off from the 22nd and don't go back until the 4th. Yipeee Grin

Iwish · 16/12/2010 13:07

Are you off work over Christmas madkatz? I am and I can't wait as I worked last year. FF has changed it's mind now and discarded today's temp and classed as fever as I woke up with a cough and sore throat etc so am now waiting for OV again :). Hope I OV this week. SWI again hehe

MadKatz · 16/12/2010 12:27

Feeling fine but just tired because work is mad at the mo. Looking forward to Christmas though and a bit of a break.
Don't think I've OV'd yet but BD'ing and watching the signs!

Iwish · 16/12/2010 11:41

Oh right. Thanx :) how are you feeling madkatz?

Hi klou gruffalo and Liz how are you all?

Cd13 today and FF has decided I OVd cd10.!! I havnt even has +ve opk yet and only just starting to get watery cm!

MadKatz · 16/12/2010 07:12

Iwish ferning is what you see on the saliva microscope when you're ovulating

lizandlulu · 15/12/2010 20:28

gruffalomama have you had a fill out a maternity nhs exemption form yet? i havent and dont know if i should have done. idont claim anything else, no benifits, nothing, so it doesnt sit comfortably with me to get stuff for free, but if everyone gets it, then thats fine!

also in my folder that my notes came in, there is a leaflet about claiming a healthy pregnancy grant of £190Xmas Shock never heard of this before, must be new! but again, if anyone can get it, i wont turn it down

lizandlulu · 15/12/2010 20:22

dh and i have only had sex twice in 3 weeks, he thinks his balls will drop off any day now Xmas Grin i am just so tired at the end of the day all i want to do is crawl under the duvet and sleep.

Iwish · 15/12/2010 20:10

Hi gruffalo stuff what work think. Like klou said at least you will have a few months in the role :). Have you any symptoms?

Hi madkatz. FF might change your af due date if you OV later or earlier. I hope you get a bfp NYE we can celebrate together lol. What does ferning mean?

Hi klou thanx, I will continue to jump DP for quite some time yet, bless him he's excited he gets a rest tonight! He really is trying tho and really wants to be a daddy.
Oooh are you excited to tell your parents? Ill be sh1tting myself. I'm the oldest out of my brother and I and all my cousins but my dad still sees me as his little baby so DP says we should tell my dad in a note then run haha!

Hi Liz! hope you are ok. You are right men won't notice! As long as you are comfy who cares :)

lizandlulu · 15/12/2010 20:05

ohh thats all exciting klou i keep getting twinges too. if i do something too fast, like getting out of bed, or out of the car, then it feels like something is stretching down there, but i am getting better at making an effort to do somethings more slowly.

had to buy some elasticated waist jeans today form bon marche of all places! they are only for work in the scrap yard so no one will see that they are awfulXmas Grin men just dont notice that sort of thing, they will do me till i grow bigger and i can properly fill the stretchy over bump ones i have.

KLou111 · 15/12/2010 17:15

Well, I'm not really sure how many DPO I was as I was due on 30th November and didn't have a BFP til 10th December (tested 8th December BFN), so I was totally confused with my cycle!

DH and I carried on shagging anyway afterwards, just every 2-3 days instead of the religious 2 days.

What a way to start the new year if you get a BFP NYE Iwish!!

Just keep jumping on your man!!

Gruffalo are you showing yet? At least you'll have a good few months in your new role to get the swing of it (and more maternity pay if you are getting a pay rise lol!), women have babies, sod em. If they don't want to employ people in case they have babies, they shouldn't employ women :)

Feeling good today. Getting the odd twinge, but all OK.
DH and I been trying to work out how we are going to tell the parents the day before NYE, whether we should tell them together or individually? Think decided individually (mine first!!) as want it to be in privacy at their homes and don't want to do it in a pub or anything.

MadKatz · 15/12/2010 16:38

sorry that should have been 'showed some ferning' not 'should'!

MadKatz · 15/12/2010 16:37

According to FF my AF is due on the 4th January but I'm taking that with a pinch of salt as hasn't been completely accurate the last couple of cycles. I think I'm due to ovulate this weekend/early next week, so could be a BFP for NYE if we get it right this time!!!

OPK's just don't work for me so I am watching my CM and using the saliva microscope too. Thats confused me though this time as it should some ferning on Saturday while I was still spotting at the end of AF Confused

GruffaloMama · 15/12/2010 14:18

Hi All

I'm 9 weeks now. Work aren't going to be delighted as I've just been promoted (got offered the job before I knew I was pg). Will cause them a bit of a prob but can't be helped.

My tests didn't work until day AF was due (tested early and got a neg).

ref tips - the thing that worked for me was a mini saliva microscope - have PCOS so OPKs aren't an option - temping did work a bit but the saliva thing worked perfectly. Will be thinking of you both over the next couple of weeks!

Iwish · 15/12/2010 10:34

Hi klou. Thanks huni, Af is due around NYE unless I have another long random cycle, I really hope it's not a long one!! If I hadn't have had my long cycle last time I would have been due af boxing day.
When do you think the earliest Is I can test with 10mlu tests?

How are you today?

KLou111 · 15/12/2010 10:16

When are you both due to test. REALLY REALLY hope it's you're month. C'mon spermies, get fertilizing!!!!
