Random nice thing that happened today - am sharing a glass of wine with the lady sat next to me - she offered lovely and civilised - drinking on a train !

Oh yes, good idea QA. Before we had our dvd player we used to play dd's nursery rhyme cd's in the car. They completely did our heads in but used to keep dd occupied. Hope you are ok Sabs

Just read your post though sabs have you tried CD's with stories/nursery rhymes etc? Might be worth a go if not. Sorry about your Dh's uncle.

Hi ladies, sorry I haven't been around but DH's uncle is seriously ill and we've had to rush away to be with the family. We're heading back to London right now (2 hours away) as his condition has improved slightly and Saara has been quite clingy but she is being really difficult in the car which i'm quite worried about as we're meant to be going up north this weekend which is a 4 hour journey. She doesn't want to sit in her seat and wants constant entertainment . Think I need to buy a dvd player asap. Will be back soon x

I think it looks really good for the 1st stage and could be a less messy way to give fromage frais etc when out and about later, especially if you have to feed on your knee and only have one free hand. Let us know how you go Barbie

MLS Glad to hear you're finally resting.

M has gone to her gran's for the day and possibly overnight. It's been lovely to concentrate on H today. Just took her a walk to get her to sleep. She stayed awake the whole walk and fell asleep as soon as I put the kitchen fan on when we got back

The minister is coming to visit tonight so I'd better go and dust. Back tomorrow.

mls i thought that too, but you can just fill it with home made puree and that will be enough for one meal?

For instance tomorrow is sweet potatoe so i will puree it (or whatever needs to be done to it!) and just put it in the spoon and away we go! Im only going to use if for the first part of the weaning stage, but when she is on proper meals ill use her baby spoon and bowl etc.

Barbie I like the look of that spoon. My only concern is that you would only be able to give her one type of food at a time so would maybe need more than one spoon for a meal. I'm a bit of a self confessed gadget queen. I have one of these which was fab when first weaning dd. I'm also going to get one of these. Oh & dd is now on her second pair of Babybanz!

Your mad ramblings last night made me smile ...not into enders myself, i was, then i wasnt, then i started breast feeding and just to download the latest episode to watch and keep me awake and then......and then i just got lazy and sat in bed to feed.

monkey thankyou so so so much for your kind offer re the Ak book, the funny thing is dh and i went out and bought one yesterday! It's the newest 100 top puree's for babies, it has the same content as all her other books so im presuming its just the updated version? And in any case you will need it again one day, so keep it too one side until you are going through the weaning stage .

Dh is home he thinks Dolly has grown loads must be the 4± feeds she has been having every night
We tried Farleys again last night, not so runny this time and she loved it much more...she would of eaten the whole thing but i stopped her at 3 quarters just in case....she slept from 7-12am so a slight improvement. Oh and the cot looks too grown up with it lowered

mls thankyou, you are right of course...we have lots of lovely things to do when she is older we are going to get her some fairy wings and a tu tu soon to take some pictures and turn them into canvas prints for Christmas presents!
