I'm feeling positive about this next cycle. Due rtd tomorrow.

If it's as long as the one I'm just finishing I'll be due sometime in early May so thought I'd do the honours and polish down the bus, stack it full of champagne and nibbles and start the engine!

Who's with me?

Hello everyone
Hello Loopy welcome!

Crazy busy week at work so not had time to get on here. Not much time for SWI either but only CD 10 and don't ov til 18 so hopefully should be okay. Wedding anniversary at the weekend so that's a good opportunity!

Am trying to be chilled out about ttc but managed to convince myself I was pg this week and was really upset when my AF put in an appearance. Last time we decided to try for a baby I got pg the same day( !) so I'm not used to all this ttc business

Hi I have PCOS too, had been masked by taking the pill for 8 years also! No period for over a year so got blood tests etc and then a scan confirmed PCOS. Had first cycle of Clomid 150mg this month but it did not work. Now on Metformin and starting Tamoxifen in 4 weeks. I am CD 18 after inducing my period with Provera to start the Clomid cycle...although my 12 day scan showed that no eggs have been produced I did feel a really sharp pain on day 4 of taking clomid and part of me can't help hoping I have ovulated so early that the scan didn't pick it up!Here is hoping.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 29/07/2010 17:41

Esk As long as you don't do the deed right before you leave the house for your appt, there should be no reason why you can't have your smear while TTC.
They won't do it if you're pg though as the hormonal changes won't give an accurate result.

Eskarina · 29/07/2010 16:59

(sorry for a slightly icky post) Does anyone know if smear tests are a problem when TTC? I got my letter this week but the first date by surgery can fit me in is Fri 13th, which is just after I'm likely to ovulate this month. Not sure what to do, but I can't just not go.

Totallyfloaty35 · 29/07/2010 15:27

Thankyou so much 8rubberduckies,i could do with the exercise of running alongside the bus but i am lazy so thanks for letting me on( the only good thing about NOT being pregnant is being able to guzzle the Vodka) an having a drink

8rubberduckies · 29/07/2010 14:39

lolaclare I was browsing the maternity wear in Mamas and Papas the other day

I am also loath to lend our crib to my friend who is due in February, wanting to leave it up in the loft getting all dusty just in case....

lolaclare · 29/07/2010 11:00

Hi all! Ovulation calculators are telling me I should be ovulating Fri/Sat/Sun next week depending on which one I use so I think I'll just be SWI all of next week to be safe.

I'm just soooo impatient though. Have been looking at the Next & Top Shop maternity clothes online instead of doing work this morning. Yesterday I picked out which pushchair/travel-system to get. Should have everything for the pregnancy, birth and baby firmly planned by the time I even get to Monday. How on earth will I cope with the 2WW?

8rubberduckies · 29/07/2010 09:30

Hi totallyfloaty I remember you from the March bus [waves from the back seat energetically]. I have saved you a seat, as, although you should really be just running alongside the bus being pelted with sweets until AF arrives, you have Jaffa Cakes and Vodka, so I think we should allow you on for the ride just this once ...

Thinking about signing up for some Reflexology this month vallinna. Although I cannot afford it I am a great believer in it, especially for kick-starting fertility, so we will all be living on baked beans and lentils in my house until I get up the duff.

I hope all are well this morning

Totallyfloaty35 · 28/07/2010 22:32

Hi can i join,i sat out April as DH away(again) so no point.Af due in a week so cant actually go on list properly yet
Also Dh is only home for 5 days and only 2 of those are my fertile days so im not starting with much on my side.
But i have brought Lemon cake and frozen Vodka soaked Jaffa cakes so have some and we can sing loudly while rolling in the aisles

vallinnapod · 28/07/2010 12:50

Thanks for the suggestion 8rubberduckies a couple of people have banded about Metformin however my only PCOS symptom is polycystic ovaries. Everything else is very normal, no more excess hair than then next chick, clear skin BMI of 21.1. My Clomid advice/soon to be prescription is from a gynae who is now my fertiliy doc (got the gynae referral via health insurance and stuck with her when they stopped paying as she was a nice lady - and highly recommended!

Also trying a homeopathic remedy, Sepia which is meant to help balance hormones - and reflexology. If I ever get PG I'll have no idea which was the magic 'cure'

8rubberduckies · 28/07/2010 11:57

Please come join us rockbird I have saved you a seat at the back; we can get drunk together and throw sweets at those on the 2ww

I have a BMI of around 29-30, and even though I've lost a bit of weight due to Metformin, I keep getting told by my GP to lose weight to help me conceive - if only it was that simple! I was bigger than I am now when I fell pg with dc1 (lost loads of weight when in 1st trimester and b'feeding, think it was because my PCOS went away then because of hormone changes) and had no issues throughout pg connected to weight, so I think you should look at things positively and think that as long as you are healthy enough to cope with a pregnancy then that's ok and go for it! I'm well aware that it's not so easy to convince the professionals of that though.

Rockbird · 28/07/2010 11:20

Wow there are loads of people on here

I should join really, I sat out the April bus although am still on that cycle but the NICE guidelines today have put me off, being of the lard arsed big boned variety. But I'm nearly 39 and it's a toss up between being fat and pg or slimmer and too old Was a lard arse when I had DD and had no problems that weren't caused by the medical profession but now I feel a bit deflated.

vallinnapod and brilaunt have either of you considered trying Metformin before you try Clomid? If you have not, talk to your GPs about it, as I was prescribed it by mine without seeing a specialist. It basically can help lower your insulin levels, which in turn helps balance all of your hormones and can reduce the number of cysts you get, lose a bit of weight and sort out wonky cycles. I have PCOS and started taking it in April. Before then I did not have a period for 3 months, but since taking it my cycles are getting shorter and shorter, and I have OVd 2 out of 3 cycles.

I've never joined one of these threads but may I?

TTC number 2 but basically no idea what my cycle is doing...bfore DD1 it was about 35 days, now I've only had 2 AF since stoppping BF, about 60 days apart...

So I would estimate Cycle2 UCL35? CD8.

Good luck to all! x

Hello everyone, could i join your bus please? Although not reached end of cycle... not confident for April bus so thought I would hop on for May prematurely! Would also love some advice... Have had bmi of 35 for long time - but now lost 2st and got it down to 29. My Referral to Gynae will take 18 week!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just wondering if gp will prescribe clomid before gynae consultation? Could anyone help me please? Thanks... Here are my stats.x
