I'm feeling positive about this next cycle. Due rtd tomorrow.

If it's as long as the one I'm just finishing I'll be due sometime in early May so thought I'd do the honours and polish down the bus, stack it full of champagne and nibbles and start the engine!

Who's with me?

Aw, wombat :( Big hug for you x

Hi all, having a bit of a difficult day here :( Just been told, totally unexpectedly, that I possibly have a 50/50 chance of any child I have being disabled by a genetic condition. They have to run more tests but thy're not likely to be conculsive. Am in total shock.

zinnia · 09/08/2010 09:25

Well, fledtoscotland personally I'm "enjoying" the novelty of squinting at my Boots thermometer every morning (major design flaw: not enough space for 2nd digit, so that "6" looks like "li" and 7s look like 1s) and then satisfying my poas urges with an OPK. What a treat!

Oh, and deciphering the mysteries of FF keeps me busy too. Have really jumped in with both feet (is that a phrase?) this month.

Haven't informed DH of crucial dates yet this cycle, even though it should be this week. In fact if it weren't for the OPK we'd be at it already.

Anyway, Monday's stats:

Evening Ladies

Didnt realise that buses got this busy! Am sitting here vaguely tipsy enjoying Sainsburys plonk and crisps before the serious stuff starts later in the week Wink. Have informed DH what dates he is expected to perform working around my shifts (am a nurse) and ovulation date and he's just laughed at me - think by TTC #3 he should know I'm not joking.

What does everyone else do in this week after AF before the "window of opportunity"?

Wombat33 · 08/08/2010 19:55

Thanks for the thoughts digitalgirl. Cycle is very regular and temp dipped before day 17 and increased on day 19 as expected, so I think it's just one of those weird things. Am hoping so anyway!

Have now given up SWI as I'm pretty sure my window of opportunity has now passed for the month. Now officially on my first 2ww and already impatient!

Good luck everyone!

omnomnomtom · 08/08/2010 17:48

wtf is going on? If anyone could shed any light on this I'd be super-grateful

My AF returned this July after 12 months of bfing DS. Last month was heavy but normal, this cycle I have had a 10 day heavy AF it then stopped for a couple of days and has started again today- really heavy, period pain too and (sorry TMI) clots.

I just want to get on with ttc- am feeling :( will try and see gp this week.

hope everyone else is having a better weekend than me!

sloathy · 08/08/2010 17:21

So, the 2WW begins....keeping everything crossed (which is more than can be said for the rest of the month!)Grin

kiwidreamer · 07/08/2010 14:54

sorry no jaffa's left after last nights binge lateatwork but peanut slabs and pinapple lumps work nearly as well, happy to share with a fellow TTCer! Ooooh there is a packet of Arnotts Mint Slice, God they taste good with a nice strong coffee! Thanks for the info above, would that explain why my period seems to come early every couple of months, that I must ovulate early that month and because the Luteal Phase thingy is always the same that is way AF appears to be early??

Is it a really silly idea to start dieting while TTC, I really need to lose some weight but also really dont want it to get in the way of TTC.

lateatwork · 07/08/2010 09:11

morning fellow passengers... lots of new people so welcome all! i have having a little bit of a bumpy ride this month. saw consultant yesterday and all results ok. another 2-3 cycles and then we are off to get some help... (timed ovulation... still dont know what that means...) so fingers crossed for this month as i dont fancy forking out heaps and heaps of cash (that we dont have... Grin)

could really do with some jaffas and caramello koalas... anyone got any?!

kiwidreamer i think... your luteal phase (bit between ovulation and AF) should be around the same length everymonth.. it generally ranges from 10-16 days... so, from the time you ovulate, AF will appear between 10-16 days later.... the first bit leading up to ovulation can be any length, but the last bit from ovulation to AF will always be around the same (within 1 day...)....sooooo if you have a 32 cycle (like me...) i normally ovulate day 16/17 (i know this cause of EWM and ache in side and i cheated and paid for a scan to check too...) so AF for me appears 16 days later... but you could ovulate at day 22 and still get AF at day 32 (ie 10 days later...)... which is why there is a range of times that you should be SWI...

Sorry cant help with the OPK Q as promised myself at least 3 cycles of TTC before employing anything more involved than iPeriod on my phone for tracking cycle!!

Hope everyone has had a good week, I think I'm going to go for theory of nookie every other day for a couple of weeks and see where that gets us, last month waited til the week around OV and 'did it' a whole bunch but that didnt work... I'm sure DH wont be complaining!

I have a silly question tho, am I right in thinking the length of my actual AF isnt relevant to anything? I am assuming as CD1 is first day of period it doesnt really matter how long it actually goes for as ovulation will happen mid cycle, so for a 30 day cycle OV is around day 14/15/16 (not that is guaranteed or anything LOL). I got OV pain and everything last month but it wasnt to be. Trying not to get to paranoid about it as DS was conceived first time we tried, literally decided as it was the right time of month that we'd ditch the condoms and start not preventing and two weeks later I had a BFP! I keep reading stories of DC1 being quick and DC2 taking a very very long time.

Nice to have some friendly 'faces' along for the ride :)

sloathy · 06/08/2010 19:06

Finally got a positive OPK this morning which I think means I will ovulate in the next 12-24 hours? Is that right?

Also, I've been meaning to ask whether anyone else gets really nauseous around the time of ovulation. Last month I felt really sick from CD 17 on and was convinced I was pg and getting really early symptoms (not knowing at that point that I ovulate later than the 14 day average) and now again today I am feeling really icky. Perhaps my body doesn't like the combination of hormones that swirls around from ovulation onwards?

digitalgirl · 06/08/2010 18:47

wombat that's odd. I usually get 2 days of smiley faces...but 3 is a bit much I think. Are your cycles regular? Elevated LH levels may indicate PCOS? But sometimes, it can mean your already pregnant - is this likely?

Well, day 18 and still no pos opk for me. Have run out of digis so am on internet cheapies, which I don't really like. Am off on a hen weekend tomorrow, so am now hoping that I don't get a positive opk till Sunday afternoon when I'm back.

Enjoy your weekends ladies.

cherry can only imagine how you are feeling after all those cycles, join in the drinking at the back of the bus. Saffron and Tamashii pass us a cocktail whilst we all enjoy this brief respite from the 'am I pregnant?', 'am I ovulating?', 'should I be SWI'ing?', 'should I eat that?', 'should I drink that?' mania!

Eskarina good grief, do our men realise how much these little throw away phases can mess with our heads?? I'm lucky DH is as keen as me on this I guess. He is even getting into MN lingo that I taught him - the other day he said 'how are you feeling about the 2WW?' Bless him!

Sigh. DH is having second thoughts on me. Is it normal? I'm coming up to The Window (as far as I can work out, as cycle seems to get two days longer every month) and suddenly he's gone all nervous and saying "maybe a couple more months". Gnuh Confused

Hi Tamashii nice/sorry to see you here.

Thanks for the booze info Loopy, that's valuable (if disappointing) info. I caved in and bought some OPKs yesterday, am determined to give it my best shot this month. Nice tip re getting up in the night though, I'll try and remember that one next time the 3.00am call comes!

snap sloathy day 17, rocky temps and no positive opk. also drank last night. was at works do and was force fed 4 vodka jellies. Plus about 3 pints of pimms.

Am still hoping for an early ov (well early in my books), but if it happens next week then so be it.

Am actually a little surprised I'm on CD17 already.

Hello ladies, just checking in. Day 17 - so should be ov-ing around now still no positive on the ov sticks thought and not sure I'm taking my temperature properly as it seems very up and down. Maybe the 3 or margaritas I had last night has something to do with this mornings odd reading...
