Books with a similar vibe to wind in the willows?

I've started reading wind in the willows, the abridged by Inga Moore version, out loud to my toddler and we've both been really enjoying it. The illustrations are beautiful and they are just lovely to read aloud. He doesn't fully understand the stories yet but loves the characters (mainly toady) and its introduced lots of new words.

We already have the brambly hedge collection, the illustrations are beautiful but the stories aren't as fun. We also have a beatrix potter collect which again is beautiful but the stories don't seem to hit the mark for him.

I was recommended the foxwood tales which I have ordered.

We don't have the winnie the pooh books yet. I always feel completely overwhelmed by the versions available and never get round to buying it. Could anyone recommend a version to buy?

And then any recommendations for books of a similar vibe as WITW would be much appreciated.

Yes I'm just re-reading these and they are lovely.

My copy isn't illustrated though, not sure how common illustrated copies are.

The version I read did, but that was over thirty years ago - so yeah.

I third Frog and Toad. Also Jan Brett books have that vibe, there are lots of Christmas ones. My favourite cozy picture book is The Cozy book by children's laurate Mary Ann Hoberman. Not well known in the UK and out of print, but if you can get a second hand copy, it's really lovely. I also love The High Street by Alice Melvin.
