My daughter's never needed any special prepare, they always loved sleepovers :)

pinkspideruk · 06/10/2017 02:50

we pack their bag together and talk about all the fun things they will be doing - it helps that H has been staying with her aunty and grandma since she was tiny s she knows the routine

JayJay1874 · 05/10/2017 23:52

I make sure I focus on when i'll be back and what fun things we have planned for when i do.

sarahw2 · 05/10/2017 22:49

Mine are both pretty good at being away from me, but I always make sure they have their own pillow to take with them, they settle so much better with them for some reason!

pattiesplum · 05/10/2017 22:31

I think I may have had it easy. Mine are very happy to stay with Nonna or have her come to look after them at our house. I always tell the when I/we hope I will be back tell them I know they will have fun while I am away.
Must be lucky because I have not had any problems yet,

vixxx666 · 05/10/2017 22:21

My youngest quite often takes one of my jumpers with him for comfort when he stays at nanny and grandads house.

cathryn1 · 05/10/2017 20:58

make it an adventure and an exciting experience

cathyov · 05/10/2017 20:44

Build it up gradually; from short little shopping trips to evenings out so they know you are going to return.

mummyto2boys01 · 05/10/2017 12:35

I make sure my LOs have some home comforts that remind them of being at home :) This always helps them when i'm away from them

wef1984 · 05/10/2017 11:56

I struggle with my youngest he really hates the separation so we try to avoid it as much as possible

TiggersAngel7774 · 05/10/2017 05:56

My son only ever goes to my inlaws and as Nanny never says no he runs out of here

Sarah250187 · 04/10/2017 20:27

We have always struggled with little one being away from home and even sleepovers at nannys is a struggle. We always pack his favourite snugglies and his photo album book with pics of us in there. We also give him a little snack bag for his 'midnight feast'. Drop off is always tearful but we know he soon stops and has too much fun to think of us!

lhlawrie · 04/10/2017 13:59

I give them both a cuddle, a kiss, say to have a good day with the person who is looking after them and I will see them soon when I get back from work. Simple but works for us.

Susangilley7 · 04/10/2017 10:29

Get their bags all ready and let them choose toys to take. Talk of all the adventures they are going to have that you will be able to share when you collect them on your return.

rhinosuze · 28/09/2017 21:12

I pack her favourite things and remind her how exciting it is to see nana, and how mummy and daddy won't be gone for long. I'm lucky that she knows she will have fun and do things we don't do together

CherriesInTheSnow · 28/09/2017 20:42

Awwww I love Owl Babies, such nostalgia

naomi83mother · 28/09/2017 17:19

Big cuddles and explaining where I am going and when I will be picking up. Also mentioning something fun we are going to do later. Oh and always being really enthusiastic about where I am leaving the child: 'wow your going to have sooooo much fun!'etc.

ohlittlepea · 28/09/2017 06:58

I work shifts so have to prepare my daughter for this a lot. We actually use Owl Babies and other stories like ' Oh my baby little one'. We talk about missing one another and what sort of things to do when you're sad. We also talk about what we will do when we next have time together. Lots of hugs too!

Ttbb · 27/09/2017 23:36

I talk about all the positives of where he is going and who he is going to see so that he gets too excited to be upset when I leave.

robyn297 · 27/09/2017 22:32

I usually give her something of mine and ask her to look after it for me until I get back to fetch her. At the moment she likes looking after my scarf, she can cuddle up with it when she misses me.

hayls83 · 27/09/2017 20:43

I talk to my youngest son who has only slept out a handful of times at grandmas house that he will be staying at grandmas but he will see me again very soon. I always call whilst he is there and he takes a blanket from home as a comforter.

PastryOnMyMind · 27/09/2017 16:49

my DD is 15 months old and has just started Nursery, only for one day which will gradually be upped to three days a week. but the same applies for when she's visiting her grandparents
I make sure that before she goes she has my full attention, lots of cuddles and breastfeed when she likes, when we're cuddling we cuddle her soft toy as well so she associates it with the cuddles (I'm soft, pfb Grin)
get her really excited to be seeing whoever and pretend I'm excited too, then when leaving her I just tell her mummy will be back later and give her a kiss on her head

Blizy · 27/09/2017 12:29

I explain to him that I will be away to work whilst he has lots of fun in nursery and that I will see him at dinner time for lots of hugs. I always say goody bye with a hug, kiss "see you soon and I love you"

Davenotdave · 27/09/2017 11:25

Telling them how much fun they'll have at nanas. They have different toys and games there to play with so it's fun.
