When little children begin to expand their horizons, the results are often hilarious and make a surprising amount of sense - mustard tastes "spiky", radiators are "radiheaters". This week we're asking you what funny things your DC has got mixed up about, for a chance to win a Little Mouse hamper.

In The Mouse Who Reached the Sky, Little Mouse sees something red and shiny hanging from a tree and thinks it’s a marble, but Mole is sure it’s a balloon and Rabbit says it’s a ball! Petr Horá?ek perfectly captures the adorable mix-ups children make when they are small, in a charming story to be shared time and time again.

Download the How To Draw Little Mouse activity sheets here and here , and watch the How to Draw Little Mouse video here:

Share your sweet stories for the chance to win this gorgeous Little Mouse hamper including three Little Mouse books by Petr Horacek, activities, stickers and a signed, limited edition Little Mouse print for your child’s bedroom.

This competition is sponsored by Walker Books, and closes on Tuesday 1 September.

When asked what my daughter had done to her crisps, she said she had "crumplated" them.

Emrob86 · 04/08/2015 17:36

My daughter seems not to be quite sure who is mama and who is papa sometimes. Sometimes she uses a mixed word "mapa" to cover all her bases... :P

My DS used to talk about doing the lawning (mowing the lawn).
He calls cocktail sticks cottontail sticks. Recently he asked my why a somersault wasn't called a wintersault (he's 4.9).

Tramp-pla-pleen is how my daughter says trampoline, I've tried loads of times, but we've given up now and we say tramp-pla-pleen!!

lexy444 · 04/08/2015 15:24

According to my DS aged 3 our new toothpaste is too spicy and his latest Lego model is a "mash potato driller"

At the local animal park we were getting the 22-month old to identify various animals. The Highland Cattle (tan with floppy hair) - were "lion cows"

Today my ds (3) sneezed and then coughed and told us he "snoughed".

Whilst using chocolate buttons for potty training treats, ds finished on the toilet, flushed and then said, "well, I think that wee disturbs a treat".

Since telling him that some things are breakable he adds "able" on to all sorts of things. Eatable, tickleable, bedable, bookable, outable, sleepable, playable.

DS (2) likes to eat 'cold peas' (frozen peas straight from the freezer). When I cooked them and put them on his plate he said 'Oh, cold peas hot!'

At Halloween we go trickle treating. Also firemen piss out fires with their hose and when the picture on Skype isn't clear it's fizzy

My friend was going on holiday to Hong Kong & her little boy asked if Hong Kong was King Kong's brother

Battleshiphips · 04/08/2015 12:44

Battleshiphips · 04/08/2015 12:42

badgerknowsbest · 04/08/2015 12:33

My dd calls a picnic a nicpic, im finding it so cute I can't bear to correct her. She is also calling a bouncy castle a bounciful sandcastle and this I have tried to correct but to her the word castle must have sand before it Hmm

doubleshotlatte · 04/08/2015 12:23

When DD was 3 she used to call thunder "panda" - it was the cutest thing! :P
It kinda made sense, thunder is just a Panda stomping in the sky!

HTarling · 04/08/2015 11:12

My DD calls an octopus an 'optocus' and ceiling fans are 'copters'. All very cute. Can't wait to hear what she comes out with next.

Our eldest Granddaughter tried to walk across some gravel (have refused to put her shoes on), and said that she had 'spicy feet'.

dragonfly63 · 04/08/2015 09:09

My daughter used to ask for barbube instead of rhubarb, loved to see baddits (rabbits) alongside the road and her favourite food was Wall Dwarf salad.

kungfupidge · 04/08/2015 08:27

my son harry is two and he calls an octopus a ticklepus lol

Princessnicki22 · 04/08/2015 07:21

My daughter Daphne has started to use 'manky' quite a lot, I've heard her describe an apple as manky, and also my face when I've not got any makeup on......she's not trying to be mean she's only 2.... ????

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 04/08/2015 06:31

My 3yo dd describes foodstuffs with gritty texture as having "crumbs" in. It started with "bitty" orange juice but has been extended to (eg) blackcurrant yoghurt.

mave · 04/08/2015 06:13

Before my husband and I got married my eldest daughter asked us where we were going for our "moonhunt" instead of honeymoon bless her!!! We still laugh about now!

Boygirlmummy · 04/08/2015 05:46

My son calls peanut butter 'peanut jam'!
