We all know that children can be the most delightful, innocent little angels - charming, sweet and pure. They can also sometimes be the most disgusting creatures to ever walk this earth. Every mother has seen their child do something outright revolting at least once, if not repeatedly.

We're asking you to dredge up these horror stories for the chance to win copies of Dirty Bertie: Jackpot! An expert in all things yukky, there’s nothing Bertie likes more than to be surrounded by worms, fleas, bogeys, burps and suspicious smells... And if his enthusiastic young readers are anything to go by, he’s not alone!

Tell us the most disgusting thing your child has ever done for the chance to win one of 6 copies of the book. The most utterly disgusting story will also win the poster a £100 Argos voucher!

My daughter's friend came to her birthday party and fell out with another child that was there.... after the party I found out she'd picked her nose and put it on the other girl's plate without her seeing. The most disgusting thing my daughter did was not tell me until after the party even though she knew at the time.. I looked on the plate and... it wasn't there barf.....

My daughter had a taste for pet food when she was younger. She used to love Bakers complete and would eat it straight from the dogs bowl. We had to start feeding the dog outside to stop her. She also ate a tub of fish food when she was 2. She's 13 now and is disgusted when we tell her about it.

I was breastfeeding DD2 in the lounge and I noticed that DD1 (3) had gone awfully quiet having gone to the bathroom. I called her and could hear her giggling but she didn't come through - I made my way to the bathroom to find the whole room and her, was white, covered in baby powder! It took me hours to clean it all up, turns out baby powder doesn't clean well in copious amounts! Grin

DS, about 2, obsessed with farms, being potty trained. As it was summer he was playing happily without his nappy on. Went to see what he was doing to find him running his tractor through a huge poo on the carpet "me poo spreading". It takes a lot of scrubbing to get poo out of a tractor's tyres.

My feral DCs spent much time playing outside on the farm. Unbeknown to me when they needed the loo they went in an abandoned sheep trough, then called our yorkie over to eat the contents. Didn't appear to have any ill-effects on the dog who lived to a robust sixteen.

I cannot recall anything totally horrifying (probably a good thing! or maybe you choose to forget!). Like all children they used to love getting mucky when they were little.

My delightful 4 year old found all the tampax applicators that had been put in the bathroom bin, slotted them together and made a long long tower out of them. He carried the tower out to us....a sort of Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Dh and I looked horrified as he came in, covered in period blood from the tampons.

My son somehow managed to be sick and it went into my mouth! Even typing this makes me feel sick remembering!

When we lived in Africa and my son was crawling he ate these great big blue ticks that were on the dog, and had blood and goo running down his chin. I practically puked on the spot!

lucyrobinson · 07/07/2015 12:10

My Son stuck a piece of sweetcorn up his nose. Every time I tried to grab it he sucked it back up his nose. Finally managed to get it though.

When my DS was about 9 months old, he got hold of his dirty nappy and basically spread it around the living room. It was EVERYWHERE. He even eat some of it. Shock I feel sick even thinking about it now. Thank god we had laminated flooring! Grin

Where to begin... Once my daughter was in the garden and picked up a sun dried worm. It was seconds away from disappearing into her mouth!!!

My little one was enjoying some nappy free time last summer, I nipped off to answer the door to the postie while he was playing with his cars.. literally less than a minute.. when I returned he was happily pushing his cars through his faeces. Couldn't have timed it better!

My middle child at the park, it was a beautiful day and we had been there for quite some time she needed too wee, took her to the toilets, sure as sure can be the toilets are closed for the day!!!! anyway in a panic i find private bushy area where no one can see us (she's 5 btw) i take her trousers down so she can wee, scoop her up so my arms are like a toilet bowl for her to do her business, didn't take long to notice it wasn't a wee after all, i have never been so mortified, had to wait there for 30 minutes for OH to get there with a change of clothes and some cleaning products!! Kids are cute it's true but they should also come with a warning label lol

you would never imgine it possible from her cute wee face x (pictures lie too!)

When my eldest was four and I was extremely sick in pregnancy with her sister, she decided to take advantage of my incapacity and explore things she's always wanted to know more about--like her own bodily functions. She took it upon herself to reach into the toilet before flushing and remove her own poo to examine it and feel its texture. Thankfully, her father walked in on her examination and cleaned her up good.

I wish I could say that was the only time she's been disgusting but she also dumped the toilet scrub brush water all over herself when she was one. At least she had the excuse of being too little to know better then.

MrRichTea · 03/07/2015 12:11

Poo'd on the carpet, then rolled over it in his trike! eEw!

rainbow1976 · 03/07/2015 10:37

Whilst dismantling my 4 year old daughters cabin bed ready to move house I found that a big patch of the wallpaper behind the bed was covered in dry hard bogies!! Disgusting... now she always has a box of tissues in her bedroom
