My favourite is Jenny Dale. My daughter always found it remarkable that someone's name should serendipitously rhyme with "tale". Once spent 5 hours in a&e on a Saturday night with an armful of Jenny dales after a thumb related accident at kids world. Fond memories.

Is the Animal Ark woman a real person, nickel? Someone I knew swore that they knew someone whose child had been at school with her child (I know, such fame ) but then someone else swore she was a co-op . . .

Beast Quest, Rainbow Fairies etc are so formulaic I reckon they could be done with some clever use of the old search and replace facility.

A lot of children's authors also do reading schemes books (not sure if he's done any)

Stephen Cole is one - I've just looked through the books on the shelf, and there's Lucy Courtenay, allen Frewin Jones and some others I've not heard of.

in the Rainbow Magic ones, there's also Linda Chapman and Sue Mongredien.

they do - the author is listed at the beginning with "special thanks to...."
quite a lot of them are Narinder Dharmi, a well-respecrted author.
