Does anyone know of the best agencies/websites for getting a qualified nanny willing to work overseas for at least a year?
Thanks in advance.

Kiedra this thread is seven years old. You'd be better placing an ad with some agencies, plenty have overseas listings.

I am looking for a nanny for the US in the New York City Metro area to work with a special needs child age 6.

OzzieLaura · 14/04/2009 09:15

Hi, I am Laura Harvey who used to work for Imperial Nannies in London. I noticed Frannikin kindly mentioned my name but was not sure who had taken over my desk! Tammy-Lee Wild is now the overseas consultant and is also the manager of the London office. I would highly recommend her! Tammy has been working within the nanny industry for over 6 years, as a overseas nanny and recruitment consultant.

I am now based in Australia and recruiting Australian and New Zealand nannies for Imperial Nannies. So if anyone knows of any Kiwi/Oz nannies looking to work in the UK and indeed worldwide, then please forward my email details!

Should any Mums have any questions on employing a nanny in the UK or overseas, please do not hesitate to get in touch. The same goes for any Nannies looking for advice!

frannikin · 06/03/2009 14:14

I'd do it! DP wouldn't be too happy though....

I favour Imperial for finding overseas work but Laura's left and I don't know what her replacement's like.

Hi, I am interested in the post please could you get in touch, I am in the UK at the moment doing temp nanny jobs for an agency, I have 15 years experience as a nanny but I also have a safari company in Malawi Africa doing family safaris with children with special needs but with the credit crunch I may looking at taking a job for around a year but want to stay in Africa.
I have only been to Angola as a tourist when I did a driving trip from UK to Cape Town.
Do you know about work permits? I am 37 years of age. Would be great to hear from you.

BonsoirAnna · 03/03/2009 09:53

I'd have thought you might want to go through an agency for a job like that - you will need a very mature, self-sufficient nanny for a 60 hour a week job in Angola. What perks are you offering?

LouIsAHappyLittleVegemite · 03/03/2009 09:49

definately have a look on nannyjob
lots of nannies looking for work due to thier banker employers being made redundant.

Supernanny19 · 03/03/2009 07:10

ILL COME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

nannynz · 02/03/2009 20:45

What is the job description and when does it start. I'm not currently looking for a position but am always on the look out for unique nanny positons. Angola would be super unique! I'm sure it would be possible to find a nanny to accompany you there.

scrooged · 02/03/2009 17:33

Anytime.

tiredexplorer · 02/03/2009 17:31

Might take you up on the offer the way things are going

I'll go if you want a nanny (unqulified, used to be a student paeds nurse) with a 9 year old.

willowthewispa · 02/03/2009 17:19

Hmm, you'll need to find a very adventurous UK nanny! Maybe you'd be better looking for a South African nanny? Plenty of South African nannies come to the UK, so I'm guessing there's not such a big cultural difference.

tiredexplorer · 02/03/2009 17:12

That's part of the problem, it'll be in Angola! On the plus side, I'm offering 9 weeks' paid holiday a year, one return flight to the UK and one to South Africa a year.

OP posts:
Bubbaluv · 02/03/2009 16:43

Where are you going to take them? I would have thought it might be quite an attractive option for a young single nanny - if you're going to take them to Iraq it might be a bit tougher though!
A few of the nannies who applied to me where Australian/NZ trained, so similarly qualified and obviously willing to travel as they were applying for a job in the UK.

lindseyfox · 02/03/2009 16:41

There are nannies out there looking to do this kind of job and usually for a year. Try advertising on www.gumtree.com and www.netmums.co.uk and www.nannyjob.co.uk and hopefully you will find someone.
