Employers of nannies ...

After my absolutely disasterous experience of hiring a nanny, I'm thinking of setting up an email-based support group for employers of nannies. Would anyone be interested in joining?

*the words "employer" and "nanny" should be interpreted broadly.

Daisy I don't know what your problem is or why you are on this thread tbh

Virginia started a perfectly constructive and valid thread about an email group. You've piled on here for no apparent reason, dragging something up from the past and outing her namechange.

Outing a namechanger doesn't mean posting her name and address, it means posting details which enable other people to work out what her 'real' or previous posting name is.

It's all a bit bizarre and extremely unprofessional. Your friend is now happy in her new job, she's obviously moved on from the unfortunate situation, perhaps you need to as well?

AtheneNoctua · 09/05/2008 11:58

Oh sorry Jura. Yes you are indeed high above my social ranking. I'm still trying to work out if I'm middle or working class.

  1. Well I am a Tzarina - oh the power

  1. Hello MrsR!
  2. I had nothing to do with those posts being deleted.
  3. I do not have friends in high places. (except for you, MrsR)
MrsRecycle · 09/05/2008 11:52

at Daisy Athene weird? you obviously don't know my friend that well. Now it's my turn to defend a friend. And I know you are perfectly capable of defending yourself Athene

Daisysmiles · 09/05/2008 11:47

Can't believe you managed to get me deleted...LMAO..friends in high places have we

AtheneNoctua · 09/05/2008 11:47

I'm weird? Now there's a shocking revelation. Not sure however what it has to do with this thread.

Daisysmiles · 09/05/2008 11:45

You are wierd Athene...{hmm}

In what way have I been unprofessional?

AtheneNoctua · 09/05/2008 11:37

at your unprofessionalism.

Just find it a tad ironical that she who ousts other name changers changes her own name.

You were not exactly innocent in your friend's downfall. I think it is you who needs to learn from her mistakes. If you would have left it alone there would have been a lot less harm done.

Daisysmiles · 09/05/2008 11:03

Athene..Daisy has been my regular posting name for a while now...Im not a habitual name changer.

Like its not obvious who I used to be.... After last month I decided using your real name as your screen name was not such a great idea...

AtheneNoctua · 09/05/2008 10:22

And what is your real posting name, Daisy?

VirginiaWoolfisNotDead · 09/05/2008 09:51

OK I've CATed jura, flowerybeanbag and soapbox. Let me know if you don't receive it. If anyone else is interested, please CAT me.

Mummypoppins - you've opted out of being contacted - let me know how to contact you. Can you CAT me maybe?

Nick - I take your point, but it is difficult when people have little respect for one's anonymity and privacy. I really need advice and support, and I don't want to be subjected to a personal attack every time I post someting here.

There is nothing wrong with seeking advice in a closed forum from others who might have experience and and advice from which one might benefit.

Employers sometimes need to do a bit of homework and work out what is reasonable before they engage in communication with the nanny.

soapbox · 08/05/2008 22:59

Me too - although my new nanny is fabulous

Whooosh · 08/05/2008 22:54

oooh-back in the knife cupboard Mrs.Sharp....

Kind of like the idea but am with Nick on this,it may lead to those not "in the group" not benefitting from general postings on here.

Daisysmiles · 08/05/2008 19:21

I think such a group would be very helpful to many employers of domestic staff.
However I would not like you all to stop posting here, as the questions you ask, the discussions we have, are so useful to both employers and nannies.
Nannies also could benefit from a similar group, for asking others for a view without it being public knowledge.

AtheneNoctua · 08/05/2008 18:59

Oh dear.

I don't think that post was very supportive.
