Mummyvic123 · 25/11/2023 13:58

Scan date 6/8 had no diagnosis when I applied but now have one for autism and demand avoidance as our appointment was bought forward and can't get through to let them know, it's so frustrating to keep getting cut off! Going to send the diagnosis letter recorded delivery on Monday and hope for the best... good luck all those that are still waiting.

Kseem · 25/11/2023 09:24

@Mumof3specialkids my scan date is 28/7 I called up yesterday to add some information on I did not even ask how long and the lady said I should hear something in the next 10 days so fingers crossed for us xx well done to everyone awarded in the last couple of days and also good luck to everyone waiting, I get DLA for my 12 year old asd, I have applied for my 5 year old selective mute and on pathway for asd no diagnosis as yet but toilet anxiety and a few care needs day and night xx

cocoapple · 25/11/2023 09:20

I applied for my son who has suspected asd. The only evidence I sent off was a write up from his SALT assessment. It stated that he has trouble with speech, understanding, and communication. The assessor also wrote up a couple of paragraphs about him. So what he was like playing and communication towards her etc. It then said at the bottom of the letter that he’s been accepted for 3 packages of care from the paediatrics. I’m still to find out what these packages of care are (I’ve been told it’s a 24 month wait🤯) I’m just hoping this is enough.

Ilovemychildren123 · 25/11/2023 09:19

@Linacre96 i would call mid next week I think you’ll definitely have a decision by then mine was 6 days before yours and a decision was made on Monday. Good luck x

Jneill2021 · 25/11/2023 09:06

Hi everyone! I've been following this board for a while. Scan date 17/08 so probably still got a few weeks to wait. I am so anxious. Daughter diagnosed with severe autoimmune disorders in April this year and was hospitalised for 3 months... She has trouble with mobility, flares of inflammation, developed osteoporosis and fractures from the steroid medication etc. She is okay some days but if she does too much she has a flare and we end up back in hospital... She needs help with showering/dressing and can't walk for more than a few minutes. It's a lifelong chronic condition and we're struggling to find the right treatment plan for her.

She can only do a couple of hours in school each day. Work were fab to begin with but I've essentially lost my job as I couldn't commit to coming back fulltime or being on site (I've been working from home around caring for her but they need me back in now) and they've therefore put me on a redeployment list so find another job. I'm terrified financially we won't be okay if I don't find anything. I'm a lone parent (their father is deceased) so it's all on me and I just feel sick :(

I'm terrified we won't qualify and I won't be able to find a work from home job :( I think because her condition in children often isn't as bad as it has been for my daughter - she is very much on the extreme scale (she has juvenile derymoyotisis and overlap systemic scerloderma). And DLA will look and say "well she'll be better soon".

Ahhh the wait is horrible and it's awful that we are all waiting SO LONG. If I had had a decision quicker I could have taken the career break offered by work but since I just DON'T KNOW if we will qualify I had to accept the redeployment :( So awful for people in positions like ours who are desperate for the help to give our children the care we need!

Anyway, sorry to offload, just wanted to say that watching this board has helped me loads and as the weeks tick by I hope we all get the support we need. Good luck everyone.

Parking, nice to be able to relate to other people going through the same.
Has anyone applied for DC's with asd and adhd both diagnosed and sent evidence.
