DLA wait times… part 22 (2023)

I updated everything with just the rates that they told me as the letter can take 2 weeks & uc aren’t that quick at backdated going off this thread, massive good luck if u ring @MangoPepsiLover

@MangoPepsiLover let ne know how you get on with the phone call, it’s an awful wait and I told myself it was a decline too so was shocked to see the money. I’m sure you have nothing to worry about, fingers crossed you hear something x

Do I have to wait for the letter to come to let uc know? I worked it out it’s been backdated to wen I rang for my forms in June, plus £10 extra I assume that’s the Xmas bonus

Yes the disabled child element is backdated to start of dla claim x also the carers element if you're not already claiming it @Emsale83

I have seen mention of UC being backdated, with DLA award? Do UC backdate too for disabled child allowance once awarded DLA, or have I misunderstood? I know I need to inform UC if my daughter gets awarded, but not sure if its back dated along with the back dated payment of the DLA award???

@Louboo09 its completely unfair it should go in date. Let’s hope by Friday we have answer. Keep me update x

Anyone had uc backdated sorted yet? Just wondering how long people have been waiting for confirmation of backpayment after them saying its going to a dm? Thanks xxx

@Mumofepilepsy i think there should be 1 pile and who’s on shift that day should work off the same pile, the system is not fairy

I don’t understand how there’s so many Aug dates on the Facebook page have got their decision

Had a very helpful lady when I called to see if they'd received the extra evidence. They've gotten some but not all, hoping the rest turns up. I updated her that DC has deteriorated since sending the forms, in terms of sleep must've got 5 hours broken last night if that. She made a note awaiting evidence, restlessness and anxiety at night and that I'm awaiting night time meds just low dose see if it helps getting a decent night for school. Her signal was bad and she said don't try to call me back and be on hold, I'll call you straight back. Made a nice change x

@Louboo09 its so hard isn’t it !!! When our children in pain and we can’t help them. It makes me feel useless when am in the hospital I just want to get her and run away. @Mumofepilepsy youll definitely get awarded so you don’t need to worry, it’s awful to hear what ur going thru and I hope you get the good news you deserve. Mine got diagnosed with anorexia, the ceds team have done no counselling they’re just telling her to eat and now her situation has got deeper where she’s at risk of harming herself but I didn’t put that in the forms cause it’s only started happening in the last couple of weeks

Has anyone called for forms and returned within the time frame and not been backdated from the phone call? X

@Louboo09 ive not got a clue all I know is I sent so much evidence in. It seems to me some ppl get awarded with next to evidence I don’t know about ur claim but all I know is my daughter is at risk of sudep every time she goes to sleep just by having epilepsy and more of an increase as she has them in her sleep aswell. Every time she’s had status is at risk of brain damage I hate saying the next word but it can be fatal. I have emergency meds that I have to give her. Sometimes they don’t work and 999 has to be called. They give her more and she still doesn’t come out of it. Then doesn’t come round for up to 2 hours. So if they refuse me am up for tribunal am not stopping x

@MangoPepsiLover @Mumofepilepsy do you think they’re looking for more evidence to support our claims to see if our children do need the extra support, making phone calls etc?

I might call tomorrow it’s just that build up while ur calling. Then to be told it’s not even with a DM. Plus I realised I’ve made a big mistake I stapled the extra paper to the pages what I didn’t know is that they scan them I didn’t write my daughters name nothing on them. I didn’t know thankfully I did take pics of everything I wrote. 😞
